**What do you like best about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

The best part of this software is that I can easily design anything that I imagine very quickly. It is very easy to use. There are a lot of educational examples that anyone can use and understand how to use. I didn't know anything about this drawing software but now I use it everyday in my job.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

There are a lot of parts of the software that I dislike. It is not easy to give shapes to some surfaces. Some dimensions on a wavy surfaces cannot be given easily. It is also complicated to find some tools inside the software. There sould be extra samples on how to use some extra and probably useful tools.

**Recommendations to others considering SolidWorks eDrawings:**

I really recommend this software to draw anything in your mind.

**What problems is SolidWorks eDrawings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use this software in my home and in my job. I use this tool to draw our mechanical parts of the press machines. The design can be easily send to the CNC machine to manufacture.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

While the desktop app is good and up to date the iPad app hasn't been updated in ages and hasn't even been updated to support the iPad pro larger screen that came out last year. Also to get all the features on the app you need to pay extra but that version is still not updated.

**Recommendations to others considering SolidWorks eDrawings:**

If solidworks is a main part of your workflow then there is no reason not to use it.

**What problems is SolidWorks eDrawings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2019

**What do you like best about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

This is the main program that I use for design reviews with customers. When going to a customer facility, it is a pain in the butt to launch the entire SolidWorks program and use the full model to show a customer the machine we plan on building. I use eDrawings all the time, they are quick and easy and the customer loves them.

  ### 18. Lack of settings

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor E. | Técnico en Departamento I+D, Logistics and Supply Chain, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2018

**What do you like best about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

The best part of the application is the fact that it is free. Any user can download for free from the official webpage. It is not mandatory or necessary to have a SolidWorks tool already installed. It gives the possibility to any employee of a company to see a document designed by another. You can easily share the files and watch them in a moment.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

One of the worst things is the lack of tools included in the application. If you are a common user of SolidWorks application will quickly realize that you can just do a few things with eDrawings. For example, you can measure the gap between two objects, but only in a lineal way, however, Solidworks shows you the same measures in three directions, not only in the shortest.

**Recommendations to others considering SolidWorks eDrawings:**

This application is just a viewer. If you are thinking to install it in order to modify assemblies and componentes, that is not possible.

**What problems is SolidWorks eDrawings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can give to all of the employees the possibility of having a tool that show the 3D documents. The installation is so quick, so it is an advantage if you have a medium/big company.

  ### 22. Good software if you don't have Solidworks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Industrial Automation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2018

**What do you like best about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

This software is very easy to use, and is almost necessary if you don't have Solidworks and are somehow tied to modeling. If you need to quickly view a model or drawing, or aren't near a computer to do so, you can easily pull it up on edrawings on your computer or your smartphone.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

The capabilities of this software are definitely limited. It is meant to be a quick tool to view models if you don't have the full software, and definitely lends itself to that mostly.

**Recommendations to others considering SolidWorks eDrawings:**

Edrawings is useful tool for quick access. If you need full modeling capabilites, you are going to need solidworks or another modelling suite.

**What problems is SolidWorks eDrawings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When someone at our company cannot view a solidworks file due to either not having a solidworks license, or not being at a computer at the time, we use edrawings so that they can view the file quickly to get dimensions, basic layout, or part numbers.

  ### 23. 3-D to 2-D drawing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2019

**What do you like best about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

an eDrawing tool used to convert the 3-D drawing to 2-D drawings and also used to read 2-D drawings to make a model.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

It has a version problem. It can not open the files from lower versions.

**Recommendations to others considering SolidWorks eDrawings:**

I recommended eDrawing to draw 2-D drawings.

**What problems is SolidWorks eDrawings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I draw the all 3-D files into a 2-D file using eDrawings.

  ### 24. Customer has Solidworks and you dont? Dont worry, try this!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2018

**What do you like best about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

This allows you to check dimensions on solidworks documents without having to purchase solidworks. You can download this free of charge off the Solidworks Website.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

It seems to be a bit slower to use than solidworks itself, but this is a free software, so not expecting a whole ton of features.

**Recommendations to others considering SolidWorks eDrawings:**

If you are on the edge of whether to buy solidworks try this first to see if this may fulfill your needs. Many times companies can get by with just using Edrawings and will save thousands of dollars. But there are very few features with this software and it is not used for modeling keep in mind.

**What problems is SolidWorks eDrawings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Checking models on the fly with this, our guys can check models without having to have a solidworks subscription on their pc

  ### 25. The worst part of Solidworks

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan B. | Designer I, Machine Build, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2018

**What do you like best about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

The concept is a great idea. Too bad it is terribly implemented in eDrawings.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

eDrawings loads slower and with less command of viewability than Solidworks. You’d think where it is just loading views of parts and assemblies (an even smaller resolution than lightweight or large assembly mode) that it would be much faster to load, render, and respond to commands. The exact opposite is true.

**Recommendations to others considering SolidWorks eDrawings:**

Don’t

**What problems is SolidWorks eDrawings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our assemblers mainly use eDrawings so they don’t have to have SolidWorks loaded onto their computers. This in theory allows them to view machines, assemblies, and parts to make assembling more efficient.

  ### 26. A very useful viewer

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francisco C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2018

**What do you like best about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

A great tool for visualizing 2D and 3D designs. If not all computers in your company have access to a CAD design program and you need to visualize parts and designs, this is your tool. I use Solidworks on my computer and have eDrawings installed on my tablet and mobile.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks eDrawings?**

What I like least about eDrawings is the compatibility with newer versions of Solidworks. Every time I change the version of Solid, I have to update the version of eDrawings on all my devices to be able to view the designs. Another negative point is that the free version is quite limited. If you want to do things like, for example, measure distances, you have to resort to the paid version.

**Recommendations to others considering SolidWorks eDrawings:**

If you need to measure distances, you should use the paid version or install Solidworks. Otherwise, it's a great software.

**What problems is SolidWorks eDrawings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualization of 3D designs on my computer or tablet to review them before sending them to my final client.

  ### 27. Excellent for viewing designs and files made in SW or other compatible CAD files.
