The core WMS is supplemented with all the additional components companies look for to address operational needs and opportunities. Those include Resource (Labor) Management, Slotting Optimization, Yard Management, Assembly and Kitting, and more. The Softeon WMS also provides direct management and optimization of a variety of picking sub-systems, including Voice, smart carts, pick-to-light, put walls, and mobile robots. For those with more complex requirements, Softeon’s WMS comes with an embedded Warehouse Execution System (WES) to optimize product flow and resource utilization. Any customization or needs are usually met with a HUGE bill. Example, adding a column in a screen set we were quoted $5k +, we have little control over the software, and then are charged hefty fees for any updates we need to be made. The best part of Softeon WMS is the ability to perform product movements in the warehouse. The system does a great job of understanding the 4 walls, and assisting in getting the product in the building and making it available for fulfillment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Softeon Warehouse Management System? The system is too custom. There is no base product in current state for legacy customers. We have been told they are going to stop doing customizations, but that is not how softweare platforms work. There is base code that is updated for all users, but the customers have the ability to make customiozations and enhancements in the areas they need in order to run their business. The WMS is currently assisting us in a development project to reduce the travel time a picker takes to fulfill ready to ship product, but bypassing the packing and shipping stations all together. This will benefit us through a reduction of labor costs and allows us to fulfill more orders in a shorter period of time, which is the main goal of any continuous improvement initiative in any warehouse.
