Snowflake: Where Data Dreams Take Shape
As a data enthusiast, I’ve explored various platforms, but Snowflake stands out like a sparkling gem in the vast data universe. Here’s what I adore about it:

Scalability Beyond Imagination: Snowflake doesn’t just scale; it ascends to the celestial heights of scalability. Whether you’re dealing with a trickle or a torrent of data, Snowflake gracefully accommodates your needs. It’s like having an elastic data trampoline—bounce as high as you want!
Effortless Management: Managing data warehouses can sometimes feel like herding digital cats. But Snowflake? It’s the zen master of simplicity. The intuitive interface, automated maintenance, and seamless scaling make managing data pipelines feel like a serene stroll through a virtual garden.
Cloud-Native Brilliance: Snowflake’s cloud-native architecture is akin to a finely tuned orchestra. It harmonizes with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, creating a symphony of data orchestration. No more tangled wires or compatibility woes—just pure, cloud-powered magic.
Also never seen as great documentation of the services as they do.
In summary, Snowflake isn’t just a tool; it’s a celestial compass guiding us toward data enlightenment. 🌟🔍✨

PS also easy implementation!

**What do you dislike about Snowflake?**

It’s refreshing to encounter a tool like Snowflake that leaves us with no downsides or dislikes.

**What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data platform with minimal management/maintenance, very stable, super scalable. Easy to work with (plain SQL/Python)

  ### 27. I still prefer the classic console, but this is still great

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Snowflake?**

Snowflake has the ability to run customer queries against all the data we have, as a data warehouse it does well. I feel like it runs faster than most others and seems easier to collaborate on with coworkers. It is also fairly secure, and itegrates into Okta well.
It is easy to implement or scale and since it's all Cloud based there is nothing preventing it being used by anyone with the interest. I am also impressed by the responsiveness of the few times I've worked with their Customer Support (which is huge) . We use it all the time.
The newer UI is also more sleek and has some fairly helpful prompts to assist with the folks who are not very proficient yet with SQL.

**What do you dislike about Snowflake?**

I can't quite explain it but i prefer the classic console though. Though it has fewer guideraisl for a begginer SQL person lik myself, the classic console is easier to keep the most used queries right in the front. The new console favors collaboration more which is great but I am strange in that i want to work on my own.
The cost can be high if data use is very high as i understand it, though i'm not in a role that deals with that.

**What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a lot of data and many different permutations that the data could be useful . Being skilled with Snowflake is really the only way to be able to gather the data from every source and combine it as you may need.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Snowflake?**

I've found Snowflake to be a powerful and versatile solution for connecting multiple data sources. Snowflake really shines when it comes to handling data of all shapes and sizes. Snowflake is designed to be accessible to folks from all backgrounds, whether you're a tech whiz or just dipping your toes into the data lake world. The SQL-based approach makes managing and querying data lakes a breeze. Snowflake's cloud-native setup ensures things run smoothly. So, you can count on optimal performance even when you're dealing with heavy data workloads. Queries run efficiently, and concurrency, making it relaible for ad hoc analytics and reporting.

**What do you dislike about Snowflake?**

It takes some time to get familiarized with their UI. While Snowflake is user-friendly, those new to cloud-based data lake platforms will need some time and patience to get caught up. However, Snowflake provides lots of documentation and resources help mitigate this challenge.

**What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a centrailized space to build a data lake. Snowflake can integrate with mulitple CRMs. It's like the social butterfly of data platforms as we are conencting Google Cloud Storage. They have lots of options for payment plans based on your data load. We are now saving money by deploying a centralized data front.

  ### 34. One of the Best Datawarehouse Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Subhadip K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Snowflake?**

Snowflake is one of the best datawarehouse cum ETL cum database tool. I like it's multiple features like
1) We can create multiple warehouses with different sizes and use them as per our requirment. Also the warehouse will suspend automatically when not in use. So you only pay what you use.

Also it has many features. Below are few major among of them:

1) Data sharing for business need
2) Time travel, which helps us to debug in case of any bug or issue, retrive old data
3) Fail-Safe for disaster recovery
4) Stream to track SCD change
5) Task for scheduling

**What do you dislike about Snowflake?**

Snowflake does not enforced Primary Key concept in tables. So we need to create separate process to avoid duplicate data loading.

**What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snowflake has many useful features, below are few among of them.

1) Data sharing. In Snowflake we easily can share data among multiple accounts. So without giving access to the main snowflake account we can share our data to another team for analysis.
2) Time travel, which helps us to debug in case of any bug or issue, retrive old data
3) Fail-Safe for disaster recovery
4) Stream to track SCD change
5) Task for scheduling

  ### 37. Fast and powerful, leading cloud data warehouse

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Snowflake?**

I love that Snowflake is a company focused on data, and only data. Their cloud data offerings are their core competency. They quickly support leading and cutting edge features. They seem to get their market well.

**What do you dislike about Snowflake?**

You need to be proactive in managing cost. As an owner of a Snowflake deployment, I appreciate the tools given to manage cost, but would like even more options.

**What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snowflake's elastic compute solves having to manage multiple different OLAP databases to serve different workloads.

  ### 38. Best Data Warehousing Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

  ### 39. Speed of Snow

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie B. | Data Engineer, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Snowflake?**

Snowflake really stands out when it comes to query speeds. It’s evident they built the platform prioritizing efficiency, and that's reflected in how fast and accurately we can pull data. But what I truly appreciate is their approach to data access through role functionalities. It gives us a hands-on ability to dictate data accessibility, striking a perfect balance between security and user access.

**What do you dislike about Snowflake?**

Snowflake has a lot going for it, but there are areas I wish were better. The way they charge based on compute time can get expensive, especially if we're running queries non-stop. Even though it's packed with features, it can feel a bit much for those new to it. And, honestly, I wish they had their own visualization tools, so we wouldn't have to lean on other software for that.

**What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snowflake's been a game-changer for our data setup. Remember those annoying isolated data chunks we used to grapple with? Snowflake tossed those out the window, putting everything in one place. It's made getting to our data a breeze and kicked its quality up a notch too. Our team now dives straight into pulling insights rather than getting stuck joining dots. Plus, managing who sees what? A walk in the park. For me, Snowflake's taken a load of data headaches off the table, making things run smoother and helping us make better calls.

  ### 40. Snowflake has helped me broaden my analytics horizons

Snowflake being a one stop shop for all things data is fantastic! The constant updates, improvements, and innovations are second to none.

**What do you dislike about Snowflake?**

The least helpful aspect of snowflake is probably the varying in pricing.

**What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snowflake is allowing for ease of automation of my many data processes

  ### 41. Has helped our business tremendously in data integrity as well as organization.

**What do you like best about Snowflake?**

As a snowflake developer , i will recommend to use Snowflake . Since it a cloud based patlform , it is best for both small and large scale companies.
It's a type of technology that helps companies handle and manage huge amounts of information. Imagine you have a giant puzzle made of data, and Snowflake is like the magic glue that holds all the puzzle pieces together. What's cool is that it works super fast, so even if you have pool of information and you don't know where to start with , Snowflake can organize it in a blink.

Using Snowflake feels like having a super-smart assistant. It helps businesses keep track of important stuff, like customers' information or sales numbers. Plus, it's really secure, like a digital vault for your data, so you don't have to worry about it getting lost or stolen.

One of the best things about Snowflake is that it can talk to different types of computers and software. So, if you're using one kind of computer and your friend is using a different one, Snowflake can still help both of you understand the same data. It's like having a language translator for computers!

Shares with Others: Snowflake helps you safely share your information with others, there are many featurs avalulable though which you can share your work(worksheet), data/database from one reason or one person to another.

Super Fast: Imagine it's like a super-fast computer for storing and finding information. you will be surprised to see how fast the results are calculated, analysed and result is given to you.

No Computer Troubles: You don't have to worry about fixing or taking care of the computer part. Snowflake does all of that by itself, so you can focus on using the data.

Another great feature is that Snowflake can grow and shrink according to what you need. So, if your business starts getting bigger and you have more data to deal with, Snowflake can handle it like a champ. And the best part is you will be charged as per your uses only. you can easly track your uses and and montly expence by the cost calculator.

Overall, Snowflake is like a superhero for businesses that need to manage lots of information. It's fast, secure, and can talk to different kinds of computers. If you're looking for a way to keep your data organized and safe.

**What do you dislike about Snowflake?**

There are some of the cons that i can think of for snowflake , and listing them down .
Costs Money: Using Snowflake isn't free.you can login and have a trail period of 30 days but at the end of it you have to pay to continue. It's like having to pay a small fee to play with your favorite toys.

Needs Internet: Since it is a cloud based technology you have to be connected to the internet to use Snowflake.

Learning Curve: It might take some time to understand how Snowflake works, get to know all the features provided by snowflake , its interface, then you and use it more easly. there are several you tube videos available at your service. It's like learning how to use a new game or toy.

Not for Everything: Snowflake is great for certain things, but not for everything there are certain limitations .

Can be Slow Sometimes: Sometimes, Snowflake might take a little longer to find your information. It's like waiting a bit more for your favorite show to start.

Not very Flexible : While Snowflake can handle different types of data, it's not as flexible as playdough. It might not work well for really unique or unusual things.

Needs Good Security: You have to make sure you set up Snowflake securely to keep your data safe. It's like locking your diary to make sure no one reads your secrets.

Limited Offline Use: Since it needs the internet, you can't play with Snowflake when you're offline. It's like needing to be at the park to use your scooter.

Changes Happen: Sometimes, Snowflake might update or change things, and you'll need to adapt. It's like when your favorite game gets a new level that you need to learn.

**What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working as a data engineer in the era where big amount of data is available for a single piece of information , finding the right data for you is challenging . In my case storing, handling, processing and analysing the data and finding the result suitable for me is the best solution snowflake has provided me. On top of it , it has few more featues that is listed.

**What do you like best about Snowflake?**

Two features i like most in snowflake first one is new SQL query feature . it make very easy to implement the logic and second one is the we can connect with more than one cloud provider like Azure, AWS from single snowflake account.

**What do you dislike about Snowflake?**

One things i noticed during connecting with different cloud provider that creating external stages for cloud platforms should be more user friendly.

**What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For my project we need to take data from different cloud platfrom like Azure, AWS. Snowflake solve my problem to transfer data from these platform with external stages features.

  ### 50. An easy organizer for your data!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert P. | Financial Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Snowflake?**

Snowflake is great way to organize your data by creating a number of statements to garner exactly what your looking for from any table or set of tables. It's incredibly powerful, and is great for setting up live data feeds to other applications.

**What do you dislike about Snowflake?**

I can not really speak to what I dislike about it since I haven't really encountered an issue which I wasn't able to resolve through quick Google searches or questiosn to colleages about. However, I think it would be nice to have a command or some window that defines what different keywords do.

**What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I was using it, it helped me solve one of the most common problems - how to join two tables into one, and present that in a live data connection. The software I was connecting it to was Tableau.
