It handles high volume workloads with very small setup requires on my end and I stage files in AWS S3, process everything inside Snowflake SnowFlake and then send the results to Power BI. Our data loads run on a schedule and I rarely run into failures unless something upstream breaks. **What do you dislike about Snowflake?** It really depnds on how people write queries badly written queries can slow things down and drive up costs. What I like is that I don’t have to worry about indexes or tuning the way I did with older systems. And even when multiple teams are running queries at the same time, performance doesn’t degrade much. **What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has taken away much of struggle of handling large SAP MM datasets during peak operations. Stock reconciliation and movement tracking are now faster and smoother, which is a real help during audits and planning cycles. We can run huge queries without managing servers, and it pauses automatically, so we only pay for what we use. The data sharing feature also works great. Sharing live data securely with partners avoids copying and keeps everyone synced on one version of the truth. Snowflake integrates well with the common stack; we use dbt for transformations, Airflow for orchestration, Looker and Tableau for BI, and Python for data science work. What I appreciate most is the simplicity of the tool and I love how easy it is to access and immediately get started with my work. Lately, I've been using the Snowflake Intelligence for Reporting and it has improved a lot of the work we deliver. With the improved logs and features in Snowsight UI, I am able to pay more attention to the details and artifacts that Data Engineers need in their everyday work. Snowflake is the primary platform where our data is stored, processed and prepared for further business requirements. **What do you dislike about Snowflake?** Nothing specific to call out, but I’d really like to see more collaboration between Snowflake and GitHub. Another place where it lags is there is not inbuilt alerting for pipeline/dataflow failures and one has to create a work around for a simple alert. Zero-copy cloning and time travel are standout features that enhance efficiency and data management. **What do you dislike about Snowflake?** As it's pay per use model someone should continuously monitor the compute usage otherwise it can become expensive. I noticed some issues with concurrencies when running multiple large queries simultaneously.It can intergrate with ETL tools like DBT, Airflow but the native ETL capabilities are less. **What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?** When we migrated from Oracle to Snowflake, it solved a lot of our problems. With Oracle, scaling up our data was difficult and expensive because it required more hardware. Snowflake, helped us scale up and down easily. Also, queries that took a long time in Oracle now run much faster in Snowflake, especially when we're dealing with big datasets. Another big thing is that we can easily handle semi-structured data like JSON, which was much harder to work with in Oracle. Overall, Snowflake has made our data management much smoother and more efficient. ### 40. I feel like it runs faster than most others and seems easier to collaborate on with coworkers. It is also fairly secure, and itegrates into Okta well. It is easy to implement or scale and since it's all Cloud based there is nothing preventing it being used by anyone with the interest. I am also impressed by the responsiveness of the few times I've worked with their Customer Support (which is huge) . We use it all the time. The newer UI is also more sleek and has some fairly helpful prompts to assist with the folks who are not very proficient yet with SQL. **What do you dislike about Snowflake?** I can't quite explain it but i prefer the classic console though. Though it has fewer guideraisl for a begginer SQL person lik myself, the classic console is easier to keep the most used queries right in the front. The new console favors collaboration more which is great but I am strange in that i want to work on my own. The cost can be high if data use is very high as i understand it, though i'm not in a role that deals with that. **What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a lot of data and many different permutations that the data could be useful .
