**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I don't like that many of the figures and additional tools in Snagit require more money or that we need to buy additional packages. It would be nice to have more free packages for the Snagit Editor to download free themes and tools. More options from the beginning would be great.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit simplifies editing screenshots with highlights, figures, and cropping tools. It handles side-by-side comparisons and video recordings effortlessly. I dislike that many tools require additional purchases.

  ### 2. My Go-To Tool for Screenshots, Annotations, and Quick Recordings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jerrid C. | CEO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is how quickly I can capture, edit, and share visual information without breaking my workflow. I use it daily in my consulting work for screenshots, annotated images, documentation, training materials, client communication, and quick screen recordings. The biggest value for me is that it lets me go from idea or issue to a polished visual explanation in just a few minutes.

The UI is one of its strongest points. It’s intuitive enough that I rarely have to think about where tools are or how to accomplish something, which matters a lot when I’m moving quickly between client work and internal deliverables. At the same time, the editing tools are much more capable than what you get with built-in screenshot utilities. I can add callouts, annotations, highlights, and other visual cues fast, without needing a more complex design tool.

I also like that it supports screen recording in addition to static screenshots, which makes it more versatile for walkthroughs and training content. The integration with Camtasia is another plus, since it makes it easier to move from quick captures into more polished video content when needed.

One of the biggest workflow improvements for me is simply speed and clarity. Compared with using basic screenshot tools or something limited like Paint, Snagit helps me create clearer explanations faster, which reduces back-and-forth and makes it easier to communicate issues, instructions, or ideas to clients.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

What I dislike most about Snagit is the pricing, especially now that it is subscription-based. As a solo consultant, I pay close attention to software costs, and while I use Snagit enough to justify it, the price feels a little high compared with how focused the product is. For someone who only needs occasional screenshots or very basic annotation, it may be harder to justify versus built-in tools or lower-cost alternatives.

I have also run into performance issues from time to time. Most of the time, it works well, but there are moments when it feels slower than it should, which can be frustrating when I am using it frequently throughout the day. Because one of Snagit’s biggest strengths is speed, any slowdown stands out more.

That said, these drawbacks have not outweighed the value for me. I continue to use it daily because the workflow is strong and the editing tools are much better than simpler screenshot utilities, but pricing and occasional performance hiccups are the main tradeoffs in my experience.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps me solve a communication problem more than anything else. In my consulting work, I often need to explain product ideas, document workflows, point out issues, or give feedback to clients quickly and clearly. Text alone is often not enough, and basic screenshot tools do not provide the editing and annotation capabilities I need. Snagit makes it easy to capture exactly what I want, mark it up, and share it in a way that is immediately understandable.

The biggest benefit is speed. It has helped me create documentation faster, produce quick training materials more efficiently, and communicate issues or recommendations to clients with much less back-and-forth. I also use it for screen recordings, which makes it easier to walk someone through a process instead of writing a long explanation.

From a workflow perspective, Snagit improves both clarity and responsiveness. I can turn a question, bug, or idea into a visual explanation in just a few minutes, which helps me move client work forward faster and makes my communication more effective overall.

  ### 3. Enhances Teaching Content, But Needs Better Scroll Functionality

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cam L. | Advertising Manager

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I like using Snagit because it offers a choice of arrows, connecting lines, and call-outs, which really helps make my PowerPoint demonstrations more effective. I also appreciate that I can easily alter the size, position, and color of these elements to complement my presentations. Snagit's ability to identify areas on a screen and call attention to specific features is beneficial for creating content for my college course.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I've tried to use the scroll feature but I can't get it to work. The differences between the Mac and Windows versions can be frustrating.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps me identify areas on a screen, calling attention to specific features. I like the choice of arrows, connecting lines, and call-outs to make my PowerPoint demonstrations more effective, and I can easily alter their size, position, and color.

  ### 4. Easy Image Editing and Awesome Screen Recording for Fast Workflows

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

ease of use, how simple it is to do image modification/edits, the video/screen recording capabilities are awesome for sending a quick video. It's clutch for editing images and pulling them right into my other workflows in Articulate Rise, or anything else I need images for.

It's very quick, performs when it needs to, and rarely crashes on me.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I would like a few more editing tools, to be honest. It does most of what I need, but it's pretty skin-deep. I'd like to be able to have a little more power for deeper edits. But honestly overall, it does what I need!

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can't even remember what I used before Snagit. I've been using it for over 10 years! So again, for the quick capture of a screen, specific portion, video grab - it's huge. I build Education content, so having these functionalities at my fingertips makes like easier.

  ### 5. Intuitive Screenshot Tool with Robust Annotation Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Surabhi N. | Curriculum Manager, Computer Networking, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit to capture screenshots and short screen recordings and annotate them. I like how Snagit makes it quick and easy to capture and annotate screenshots or short screen recordings. I also appreciate how intuitive and reliable Snagit is. The features like scrolling capture, easy cloud sharing, and seamless integration with other tools make it especially effective for creating and sharing visual explanations quickly. The initial setup was very easy. Installation was straightforward, and I was able to start capturing and annotating screens almost immediately without any additional configuration or learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Sometimes the number of capture and editing options can feel a bit overwhelming for quick tasks. I also find that managing and organizing older captures could be improved, especially when working across multiple projects.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit solves the problem of explaining things only with text. It lets me capture screenshots or recordings, annotate them, and visually convey processes or feedback, saving time, reducing misunderstandings, and enhancing documentation and communication.

  ### 6. Speeds Up Document Communication Efficiently

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mathew V. | Sr. Project Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit for communication, especially with construction documents. I appreciate how it makes it easy to show what I need quickly. I really like having quick access to all the tools I need with the least amount of operations to get to them. It streamlines my workflow and makes my tasks more efficient. Also, the initial setup of Snagit was easy.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I sometimes find that getting Snagit to copy all does not work smoothly, and I wish it would automatically copy to the clipboard always.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit for communication on construction documents, making it easy to show what I need quickly.

  ### 7. SnagIt Makes Capture and Editing Simple

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Ease of use. Simple capturing is easy enough but more complex editing is easy to do as well. With SnagIt, i don't need to use multiple programs to capture and edit and export an image or video. Exporting as GIF is also helpful.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There's some features I haven't used yet (eg, All-In-One). I'm still not entirely sure what the use case for it is for.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a technical writer, Snagit is essential to my workflow. When writing documentation for my company's products, I often need screenshots or GIFs to supplement my articles. Snagit lets me quickly create these and edit as needed.

  ### 8. Easy Graphics and Text Edits, Plus Instant Sharing in Teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy J. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Being able to add at the graphics and text as needed. Plus being able to copy an image and share it with clients in Teams right away without having to download it.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Maybe this is possible, but I don’t like that I can’t easily capture screenshots—like I can with Tango—to make SOPs that include step-by-step screenshots.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s helping me communicate faster with clients.

  ### 9. Highly Customizable Screen Recording, but Slower Than a Simple Snipping Tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Coleman B. | Global Value Engagement Competitive Intelligence Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

it is a lot more customizable then a regular snipping tool but it. Can easily add symbols or video to the corner without hindering the quality of the screen recording

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

it was slow to boot up and for simple screenshots it felt like i was spending more time going through the steps when i really just wanted a quick screen grab to throw in a chat. The snipping tool is superior for quick clipping for sure

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crisper screenshots with better storytelling features. No longer did i need to put the same red box around 5 different elements in one image

  ### 10. Snagit: Excellent for Annotated Screenshots, Needs Easier Updates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Riku H. | CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit mostly to take screen captures, and it's great for adding to documents or communicating with colleagues. I appreciate that Snagit not only captures the screen but also provides tools for annotating with arrows, highlights, or even doing some light photo editing. This feature is really helpful for visually pointing out specific details in screen images when I communicate with others.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I do not really miss any features. Just it needs some administration to update new versions of the app quite often and sometimes I have seen it fail to launch.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to take screen captures for documents and communication, with features to annotate and blur sensitive parts. It helps me visually highlight and point out areas in images that I want to discuss.

  ### 11. Feature-Rich for Editing, Performance Needs Tweaking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sunil P. | Lead Documentation Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I appreciate Snagit's lot of editing features and the ability to stack all screens nicely. The editing tools like updating the canvas color, making cut-outs, and easy highlighting are great. I found the initial setup to be very easy, and using keyboard shortcuts makes for a seamless experience.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The performance when a large number of captures are involved can be improved. When I have more than 100 screens in 2-3 days, opening all together in one view takes a lot of time.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit for taking screenshots and editing images, which solves the issue of limited features in free apps. It offers numerous editing features, easy highlighting, and lets me stack screens, making image creation for release notes and guides efficient.

  ### 12. Versatile Screen Capture Options Without Heavy Resource Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David L. | IT Support Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It's many many ways you can 'scap' a screen capture. It does not seem to take a lot of resources either.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I can't think of any at the moment. It works pretty well.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly needed it for historical archiving of things I've captured. Microsoft's snipping tool just doesn't allow an easy why to quick do that.

  ### 13. Versatile and User-Friendly Screen Capture Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I find Snagit fairly easy to use and appreciate how broad its capabilities are, as it covers various use cases. It's beneficial for screen capturing and following through steps for different work processes. I like that it makes it easy to edit and annotate, and I can create both still image captures and videos with audio. The step capture and video capture features are particularly valuable to me because they help me create visual how-to guides and walk people through processes step by step.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I haven't used it enough to find something I don't like about it to be honest.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Snagit makes it easy to capture screens, follow steps for work processes, and edit images with annotations. It also allows me to create videos with audio, which works really well.

  ### 14. Unreasonable & unthoughtful pricing has officially killed the rep of yet another software company

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel C. | Director of Product Marketing, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Great features that work well
1-time fee that lasts forever if you want it to
Well known company with commitment to excellence
It beats the competition every time.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

SnagIt is software that you install in your local environment, and as such, it used to cost a 1-time fee for purchasing the software + a guarantee of 1 major version update. Fast forward to today - I'm apparently now required to subscribe to SnagIt annually. Apparently, no one cares anymore about the diff between a local software installation that doesn't require a cloud connection (and so doesn't cost them a thing after I download and install) vs one that requires ongoing services. In any case, they've joined the sub trend and I've jumped ship.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating fast nd quality screenshots for any purpose
Creating easy gifs
Working with simple videos

  ### 15. Simplified Content Capture That Non-Technical Users Learn Fast

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob B. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

We like being able to capture the content we need in a simplified way that non-technical users can pick up quickly.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The user interface can seem archaic at times, but this does not take away from the functionality.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been using Snagit to document work processes. This is beneficial for user onboarding.

  ### 16. Snagit Makes Screenshots and Short Tutorials Effortless

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian M. | Instructional Design Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is very easy to use and generate screenshots, short video tutorials, and job aids to walk users through how to do something.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There isn't much that I dislike about the tool, to be honest.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit is a big time saver for me. It speeds up the process of teaching students and others how to perform tasks online. It also integrates well with Camtasia, which is a tool I use a lot for video editing.

  ### 17. Fast, Easy Screenshots You Can Paste Right Into Your Work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hugh J. | Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Captures screen shots quickly and allows me to paste them into my work

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Some of the UI is outdated and things like adding shapes and text don't always work as easily as they should.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adding screen prints to documentation, email, and messages.

  ### 18. Easy to Use, Feature-Rich Tool for Enriching notes and creating guides

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Easy to use and rich in features, it's easy to create a guide on the spot or provide or to highlight value-added information on the go.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I’ve found the performance to be inconsistent. At times it’s really slow to move forward, and the presets don’t work reliably. Another thing I don’t like is having to pay additional fees to get icons and similar extras. At this price, I believe those features should already be included. Given the overall value offered for such a high price, I don’t think an upsell is necessary.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can easily highlight screenshots, quickly hide sensitive information, and share everything without hassle. I also really value being able to indicate steps and create guides fast, since it helps me support colleagues more effectively.

  ### 19. Simple Yet Powerful Tool for Design Collaboration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I like using Snagit primarily for taking screenshots. It really helps with showing areas to change with our design team. Snagit is nice and simple to use, and its usability and speed stand out. I find it easy for capturing and highlighting modifications for my colleagues in documentation. The initial setup was nice and simple too.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I only use a small part of Snagit's functionality.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to capture and highlight changes for my design team quickly, thanks to its simplicity and speed.

  ### 20. Unlimited Snips and Easy Copy-Paste Make Snagit a Go-To

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

ability to save as many snips as I want and copy and paste one snip into another.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I have had issues with long video recordings. When they are short videos, 5-10 minutes they process ok but longer videos have failed for me. A 30-minute video recorded multiple times failed to process and complete. I had to use teams in lieu of SnagIt to capture the video needed.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit makes capturing software issues or training content quick and easy.

  ### 21. User-Friendly Tool, Lacking in Feedback Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I find Snagit easy to use and it doesn't bog down my computer. It offers a lot of handy features for taking screenshots, like the crosshairs that span the entire page. I really like the software overall.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The AI interview process for gathering customer feedback was frustrating. It kept cutting me off and moving on to the next question while I was in mid-sentence, resulting in a pretty trashy interview experience. I really like the software itself, but the way this interview is being conducted is terrible.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I primarily use Snagit to take screenshots and record videos. It's easy to use, doesn't slow down my computer, and has handy features for screenshots.

  ### 22. User-Friendly Image Editing with Minor Stability Issues

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill B.

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit for capturing images and video for reports and video production. What I like most is the ease of use and the addition of editing features. It's particularly helpful that I can add arrows, a border, or text to images, which helps me explain how to complete tasks. The ability to keep the images that I've altered for future use is also really convenient. It's great that I can enhance pictures without needing to use Photoshop, and it's very easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There are times that the Snagit editor will just not open until I reboot my computer. It just seems buggy, like when I click 'Open Editor' from the panel, it just doesn't open. If I reboot, it will work for a while. If the editor was more stable, I would say 10.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit provides an easy way to enhance pictures without Photoshop and allows me to add arrows, borders, or text to images for task explanations. It's easy to use and keeps altered images for future use.

  ### 23. Easily Create Detailed Instructions with Ease

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stacy K. | Associate Director of Communications, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Ability to easily create instructions with details, and have coompelling visuals.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Sometimes takes awhile to load up on my laptop, and may freeze up on some screen captures. Some features may not be as intuitive, as they are not a 1 to 1 match for Microsoft office products.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Training and development, and adding clarity for communications internally. This is priced fairly competitively, so cost-effective. I am not familar with the AI features, but would like to learn more.

  ### 24. Simple, Feature-Complete, and Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It's very simple to use. It has all the features I need without being overcomplicated.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The only way to use Snagit is with a recurring subscription. Years ago it was a one-time purchase and that made a lot more sense.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When working in customer support, I can quickly grab a screenshot and mark it up to give a visual answer to a customer without multiple rounds of back and forth explanation.

  ### 25. Multi-Modal Capture + Annotations and Editor + Easier Copy-Paste

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Multi-modal with annotations and editor - easier copy + paste than built-in solutions - videos optionally track mouse - optionally integrate with Camtasia Tenuous but yes and the developers have done a great job. The tenuous comment is not a slam or criticism - just a market/context impression.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Distinctives between it and free/built-in solutions diminishing.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me demonstrate what I'm seeing and experiencing for teaching, illustration, or tech support purposes.

  ### 26. Snagit Makes Creating Training Content Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

I have not come across anything that I dislike. No issues with it.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me create content to use with my communication. It allows me to snag those screens that are very useful in the material that I create.

  ### 27. Easy-to-Manage Licensing with Powerful Capabilities

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenneth S. | IT Service Center Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I personally like the licensing aspect of this solution as its easy to use in a corporate environment.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

only accepts pruchases with credits cards; no ability to pay with po numbers

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

snagit is better then the built in microsoft snipping tool as snag has allowed us

IT support documentation (troubleshooting steps, guides)
Training teams creating annotated workflows
Analysts capturing long webpages or applications
Service desk communication (clearer visuals = fewer ticket back‑and‑forths)
Users with accessibility needs (more capture flexibility, especially relevant to your ticket with Melissa’s scaling issue) — your internal case already highlighted that Snagit was recommended when Snipping Tool couldn’t accommodate scaling.

  ### 28. Convenient Screenshot and Video Capture with Automatic Image Storage

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Satish B. | Technical Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It helps me capture screenshots and videos very conveniently on my Windows laptop. All the images are stored automatically.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

It can be slow to respond at times. I’m also not sure whether it can record video with audio.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to capture screenshots so I can share them easily in Webex and Outlook.

  ### 29. User-Friendly Tool for Documentation and Tutorials

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It’s a very user-friendly tool for documenting work, preparing tutorials, and similar tasks.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

From time to time, I run into bugs that aren’t easy to overcome. I’ve been using it for over 12 years now.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documentation for IT products, including preparing user guides and related materials.

  ### 30. Effortless Visual Communication, but Admin and Pricing Could Improve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zech S. | Director of Information Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is how simple it makes capturing and sharing information. I can grab screenshots or recordings in seconds and instantly mark them up with arrows, highlights, or text to explain what I’m showing. The editing tools are straightforward, so I don’t waste time figuring things out. It also saves me from having to write long instructions since I can just show what I mean. Whether I’m documenting a process, troubleshooting an issue, or making a quick visual note, Snagit helps me communicate clearly and get work done faster without adding extra steps or frustration.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

My main frustrations with Snagit stem from the administrative aspects rather than the software itself. The price seems somewhat steep, particularly when setting up several users for a team. License management could be more streamlined, as the process of activating everyone often takes longer than anticipated. Additionally, the response times from the sales or support teams are sometimes slower than I would like, which adds to the difficulty of scaling or resolving account issues. While the product itself performs well, these challenges make it less efficient to implement in a business setting where time is of the essence.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit solves the problem of communicating technical details quickly and clearly. Instead of writing long explanations or step-by-step emails, I can capture screenshots or short recordings to show exactly what’s happening. It saves time for both me and the people I’m helping because visuals make instructions easier to understand. It’s also great for documenting processes or creating quick training materials without needing design software. Overall, Snagit helps streamline communication, reduce confusion, and improve efficiency across teams, especially when explaining IT issues, workflows, or software changes. It turns something that could take minutes to explain into a clear image in seconds.

  ### 31. Very great tool for making SOPs, tutorials, and sending video presentations to clients.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Munib A. | Data Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Very easy to use. Super user friendly. Saves me a ton of time by allowing us to share videos with clients regarding updates or any concerns rather than having to set up a meeting every time. Visually showing the clients what you're seeing as well as explain verbally via video is invaluable.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The fullpage screenshot feature sometimes does not work as intended. It doesn't scroll on the page completely.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps eliminate getting on meetings with clients every time we make a change in their account or if we need to update them with anything. We just record the video and send the link directly to the client. Helps us save a ton of time

  ### 32. Fast and Efficient with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel P. | Founder and Managing Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I like that Snagit works well and is fast. I appreciate the text capture and copy-paste functionality, as it really stands out to me. I also enjoy the great video capture feature. The initial setup of Snagit was easy, which made it simple to get started.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Text addition is restrictive: only certain fonts and forms. Not being able to use AI to snap specific shapes in images.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to capture images shared in calls, allowing me fast access to these images.

  ### 33. Easy to Use, Intuitive, and Fairly Priced

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Easy to use, instinctive. Very honest price. The functions do what I'm looking fo and even better: printscreen and captions, but even GIF creation and videos with picture in picture.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The edit menu can be a bit confusing. I’d like to separate my pictures by project, but I’m not sure if that’s possible. If it is possible, it isn’t very clear how to do it.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating tutorials for users.

  ### 34. Dimension-Based Screenshots Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

The ability to screenshot based on inputted dimensions

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The editor functioin can be a little clunky

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

helps me share review comments to graphic designers in a clear way

  ### 35. Great for Turning Videos into GIFs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nevin G. | Account Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It is good for making videos into GIF files

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The UX isn't great - it is hard to see all the features easily

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Turning videos of ads into GIFs that I can put in presentations

  ### 36. Effortless Visual Communication With Snagit

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is how easy it makes capturing and editing visuals for client communication. As an account manager, I often need to share quick screenshots or walkthroughs to explain campaign results or demonstrate platform updates. Snagit’s annotation tools and video capture features let me clearly highlight key details and create polished visuals in minutes. It’s a huge time-saver and helps ensure our messages are clear, professional, and visually engaging.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

What I dislike about Snagit is that occasionally the file sizes for captures, especially videos or high-resolution images, can be quite large, which makes sharing or storing them a bit cumbersome.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit is helping solve the challenge of quickly capturing, editing, and sharing visual content to communicate complex information clearly. As an account manager, I often need to explain campaign results, platform updates, or processes to clients and internal teams. Snagit allows me to create annotated screenshots, screen recordings, and step-by-step visuals that make these explanations easy to understand. This not only saves time but also reduces miscommunication, improves client engagement, and ensures everyone stays aligned on key details.

  ### 37. A must have for effortless communication and documentation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ramesh K. | Lead engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit's ability to streamline communication and documentation is the best. I often need to share complex ideas quickly and snagit makes it effortless. The combination of screen capture, annotation tools and video recording makes me create clear, visual explanations without having to spend extra time in design software. It is very intuitive, fast and integrates well into workflows and helps with better collaboration across teams.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

One drawback is its advanced features can feel a bit overwhelming at first but otherwise it is a great tool and come handy

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit solves me the problem of inefficient communication when sharing technical details. I often need to explain design changes or debug issues with cross functional teams. Instead of writing long emails or creating complex documents, I can capture a screenshot and share it instantly. Also, the video capture mode helps demonstrate the steps visually rather than relying on boring texts instructions.

  ### 38. How Snagit makes it easy for me to capture and share screenshots for work and tutorials

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mehul K. | Frontend Engineer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is how quick and simple it is to capture my screen. I can take screenshot, record small video, and edit it right away in same tool. The editing options like arrows, blur, and text are really helpful when I make tutorials or explain something to my team. It save me a lot of time because I don’t need to open any other app for editing or sharing.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Sometimes Snagit feel little heavy on my system, specially when I record long videos. It also take bit time to export big files. Few editing tools are hard to find at first, and the interface could be little more clean. But overall it still does great job for daily screen capture work.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit is solving my problem of explaining things clearly to my team and clients. Before I had to write long messages or use multiple tools to show something, but now I just capture and mark it in few seconds. It help me save lot of time and avoid confusion because people can see exactly what I mean. It’s also great for making quick guides or tutorials without using heavy video software.

  ### 39. Snagit streamlined my audit workflow, but could slow down during heavy screenshot use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily P. | Freelance AI Specialist, Information Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I had to use Snagit during a period when I was conducting online banking audits. Customers would share their screens with me, and I needed to record the entire process while also capturing hundreds of screenshots. This program made the workflow much easier and simplified the whole process tremendously.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The price felt slightly on the high side. I also ran into random bugs here and there, and at times I would lose hours of work because of them.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved my problem of having to manually go in, take hundreds of screenshots, and label them manually.

  ### 40. Quick, Intuitive “Poor Man’s Photoshop” for Everyday Image Edits

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It's quick and simple to use. The functions are very intuitive. I consider it to be a 'poor man's Photoshop' since it can accomplish much of what I need with images without the pain points of learning Photoshop.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There's not really anything I really dislike. Sometime the canvas snapping doesn't behave the way I want it to. Drawing parallel, straight lines can be challenging.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It just makes creating quick graphics easy - whether I'm using those in my work directly or showing a graphic designer what I want.

  ### 41. Snagit is simple!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa E. | Customer Success, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit has allowed me to be more efficient, visually stimulating in my reporting & emails to clients and overall more effective in my communication. The simple fact of being able to take specific screenshots and not only "mark them up" but also create individual screen "videos" that I can combine is game changing.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Creating training content in Snagit is often inefficient due to limitations in organization, editing, and customization:

Library Organization: Screenshots default to the main library, making it hard to manage one-off or client-specific content. I'd like the option to send captures directly to a specific folder or tag, or opt not to save them at all.

Workflow Efficiency: A drag-and-drop option for moving captures into folders/tags would save time. Also, organizing by custom folders/tags (instead of by month) would better reflect how I work.

Video Editing: Requiring Camtasia for edits is frustrating—it's unstable and complex. Basic built-in editing tools or compatibility with simpler editors would be much more user-friendly.

Template Customization: It’s harder on Snagit than on other platforms to create custom templates. I’d like more control over color schemes, layout arrangements, and effects when assembling content and to save the Visual Alignment in a template.

These changes would greatly streamline content creation and improve productivity.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to be more visually effective with my communication as well as helping me create Training Videos without the added steps I had to take without Snagit.

  ### 42. Enhances Screen Captures, Needs Better Scrolling

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron L.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit for creating content for my college course because it allows more flexibility with screen captures and the use of icons to feature areas on the screen. It's fairly intuitive and lets me customize a number of items. I also found downloading and installing the software easy.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I find the scrolling feature baffling, maybe it's just me though. It can be confusing.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit allows more flexibility with screen captures and the use of icons to feature areas on the screen.

  ### 43. Effortless Editing with Intuitive Tools

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jiří M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Easy Editor. Stamps, Easy window detection etc

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

ugly and outdated UI
poor handling of text
incorrect window detection in Windows 11 (offset by one pixel)
inability to detect windows when sharing the screen in MS Teams
missing synchronization of quick styles across multiple devices
frequent malfunction when copying from the editor into MS Office documents
and much more, related to versions 2024 and 2025

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creation of training matherials.

  ### 44. Great for Capturing but Pricey

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammed S. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit to capture online lectures and slides, which helps me organize my study research by grabbing text from images. I like the panoramic scrolling feature because it saves my time studying and improves my efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The subscription is expensive, and the initial setup was a bit complicated because it seems to be made for professional use.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to capture online lectures and slides. It helps me organize study research by grabbing text from images and saves my time studying, improving my efficiency.

  ### 45. Clean, professional looking screenshots

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin S. | Digital Archives Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit allows me to create professional looking screenshots and captures to share with my colleagues. I particularly love the ability to capture webpages while scrolling, so that I can record all the content I need in one image.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I dislike how Snagit captures save as SNAGX files instead of as JPEGs. I often have to open the image in the Snagit Editor and save it in a different file format before sharing.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I frequently take screenshots to record web content to share with colleagues. When I have to capture a scrolling webpage, I would previously take several screenshots at different points in the scroll and send several images at once. I like how Snagit allows me to record scrolling webpages in a single image.

  ### 46. The Best Screen Capture and Editor

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David G. | Marketing Campaign Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Sadly the app has failed to work on my computer, with the short cut.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

App started failing to start.
I turn off the laptop every night and have uninstalled and then installed the product to no avail.

**Recommendations to others considering Snagit:**

Although a bit pricey - it is worth the money.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is the best way to take a screenshot, edit the image and share it.

  ### 47. Great Screen Capture and Snipping, But Occasional Editing Crashes

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Annmarie W. | personal lines agency support, Insurance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

love the screen capture and snipping tool

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

sometimes there are occasional crashes when editing

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

snagit makes screenshots look presentation worthy

  ### 48. Khad's SnagIt feedback

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Khad A. | Senior Technical Writer/Documentation Lead (I am the only doc person in the company), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It is easy to use, provides basic video options, and the best part is that you can edit text, which you usually cannot do outside of SVGs. For example, if I take a screenshot and it includes a name, I can replace the name - this looks a lot less ugly than blurring text.
I also find it easy to add a shape as a border, add arrows, change the colour of these items, and add annotations.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

- When you try to edit text, it doesn't keep the font that was already there. I have to keep selecting different fonts hoping to find one that matches the rest of the text. This is always a struggle.
- SnagIt does not support SVGs, so I am forced to use less user-friendly tools such as Inkscape to edit SVGs. I want to be able to edit SVGs in SnagIt and also to save images I worked on in SnagIt in SVG format - I can't do anything with SVGs in this tool currently.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a lot easier to use than images. It takes more accurate screenshots, allows me to easily edit and annotate them, and it provides options (though limited) for editing text (for example, personal information) in a screenshot, which is important for privacy reasons.

  ### 49. Simple, Powerful, and Affordable Screenshot Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It is a simple but very powerful tool to create screenshots and copy images. Secondly it is very easy to install as well and I use it almost daily in my work. Another big advantage is the pricing as it is very competitively placed.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The app still have some bugs which needs attention to.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me to take pictures in mac in a single click.

  ### 50. Good functionality for preparing demonstration materials, but not without faults.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eugene G. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

This makes it possible to create any kind of demonstration material, including video recordings. Easy to use. Simple editor.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Tools sometimes work with errors. For example, screenshots of scrolling areas often contain “artifacts” and corrupted areas. The tools in the editor are not always clear. It's a shame that there are no options for aligning objects. This is important when preparing presentations or documents. The application takes a long time to start up. I have a powerful modern computer, and Snagit takes about 15 seconds to start up. Photoshop starts faster. I wrote to support, but to no effect.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Preparation of user manuals and technical tasks for developers.
