I have attended a couple of those which were helpful and I also like that they're actively implementing user feedback. They really take user input into consider when developing their tool. **What do you dislike about Snagit?** The cost can be a bit of a barrier especially if you're paying for it out of pocket. The capture dialog box can lock up for a second or two as you're selecting, and don't even *think* about trying to annotate a large image that you can import from elsewhere - the editor will just fall over and die. There are some misc. quirks with annotations, such as if I'm using the line tool, I can't continue the line from a previous line, because it moves that vertex instead of continuing to draw. There have been some persistent bugs such as Snagit forgetting about my keybinds, or just stopping working until I reboot the computer, though these have been resolved pretty quickly. **What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps me quickly share, crop, and annotate content, as well as dealing with videos. I have used the out of box windows functions and found I could grab and share better annotated images with snagit. Sometimes I blur out some content for security. I routinely use the crosshairs to know exactly what I am grabbing. I frequently use text boxes and colored boxes to highlight areas of interest. I'm a power user that uses and depends on the tool at least a dozen times daily, and I'm still constantly discovering new little features to take advantage of. Easy to install and the tool is intuitive to get started with- no complicated multi-step onboarding needed. I've converted multiple colleagues to using the tool to solve pain points that they were experiencing with other tools (scrolling capture is a huge win for many of us who may be documenting things like long applications or web pages). **What do you dislike about Snagit?** I'm not a fan of the shift to paying yearly for a subscription fee. From there is very easy to capture anything on my screen, either to a image screenshot or recording a video. For images, I also like that I can add things like arrows pointing to something in the image as well as a host of other effects, though, I use the arrows and custom text tools the most. While I make use of the special effects and other tools for image editing, I also set the Snagit editor up to export images to ther programs like PhotoShop. This makes it easy to share images between programs, especially when working with transparent images or if I have used the Edge Fade effect in the Snagit Editor. I make use of Snagit on a daily basis as I have to give customer support on my products and sometimes the best and easiest way to deliver support is with a screenshot where I add arrows from the Snagit editor to illustrate a point or feature. Snagit is a real time saver. It is really easy to use and the ease of implementation into other products makes it a goto tool and something I can't live without. **What do you dislike about Snagit?** The video editor that comes with snagit is not really useful. It feels clumsy, however, luckily you can export the video to another video editing program. Unfortunately, the only program I have found to work with the export feature is another one of their products named camtasia. As I have a license for camtasia as well, it works out quite well, although I wish I knew of another editor that works with the export feature as camtasia can take some time to load. **What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?** When giving support, I often have to take screenshots or make a quick video in order to support our users. It is very easy to use, both for quick and simple screenshots, to which you can give that little extra (I love ripped edges which seamlessly blend into an email for example) and for complex documents that you can enrich with texts, lists, etc. **What do you dislike about Snagit?** While I did not use it too much for recording videos, I feel the video part has quite less features, and there are better programs to use, if screen recording is your main task. However they fully do their job for quick&easy clips. The biggest downside for this program is its price. It surely is not cheap, it gives you tons of features but the cost is quite high. I expecially didn't like the move from one time purchase to the subscription model. I only use - quite intensively - the program standalone, I don't use their online resources nor I ask for dedicated, h24 support. Very customizable regarding automatic storage of screenshots and video clips. In my case, I don't want automatic storage of it and was able to configure it to work this way, as well. 2. Allows you to save customization settings for image markup (e.g. text, arrows, etc) 3. Taking a screenshot or starting a recording are easy processes, especially with the hotkey binding. **What do you dislike about Snagit?** 1. The Snagit Editor takes a bit too long to start. The option to have it always running in the background is there, but it's buggy, so I don't use that. Basically, each time I take a screenshot, I have to wait 5-10 seconds for the image editor to load. 2. The image editor doesn't allow me to set a background fill for text input. The "fill" setting for text input boxes is actually just to set the color of the text. The background for the text is always going to be transparent, you can't change this. 3. Unlike most of the image markup tools, the Blur tool doesn't allow you to save custom presets. You're stuck with the defaults. **What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?** 1. I often need to provide instructions to clients on how to do certain things in our platform. The ability to take a screenshot and markup the image with arrows and text makes it easy to communicate the instructions to the user. 2. When I encounter an issue with our software and need to communicate it to our team, I'll often record the steps to reproduce it. This approach is much easier than typing up 2 paragraphs of text and hoping the reader can follow it. ### 44. It would be great to be able to create folders by project.
