I would not hire them. **What do you dislike about SmartSites?** They never had consistent content writers and never learned our business. **Recommendations to others considering SmartSites:** We had a terrible experience with SmartSites. They constantly turned their content writers and after well over a year, they still never were able to write posts without us having to do major revisions. When we cancelled and gave our 30 day notice. They quickly did a few extra blogs and then charged us an extra month. These people are slimy. Prior to the billing dispute I just thought they weren't for us. Now I can wholeheartedly say that you are risking your business by using them. **What problems is SmartSites solving and how is that benefiting you?** We hired them to write content and optimize for SEO/SEM. I would not recommend. ### 2. I used them for over 2 years, and they have not learned what our company did. The SEO was awful and didn't apply at all. The blogs were more work editing than writing something myself. Too much money for what we received. Went through multiple account managers. Run away from Smartsites; do not use them! ### 3. They made a lot of promises they did not keep and their performance was poor. **What do you dislike about SmartSites?** After three months of working with Smartsites, it was clear even to the executive team that they had failed to deliver for my business and I was a very unhappy customer. They offered to give me a full refund, which would have been difficult because I had to start over and lose about 6 months of market opportunity, which is detrimental for a start-up on a tight budget. Then they tried to claw back the offer and force me to sign an NDA so that I would not share my negative experiences with others. This was unacceptable to me and against my values. So I'm here to share my experience as others deserve to hear all types of experiences, and I believe others are being coersed to sign to get their money back and not be sent to collections. So I do hope you will share my review as I may be one of the few willing to stand up for my values and rights. **Recommendations to others considering SmartSites:** I recommend you look at other providers and do not be enamored by the magnitude of 5-star reviews. It is not natural for a company to have that many raving reviews without more balance of negtive reviews. I am a witness to the tactics used, such as strong coersion to sign an NDA and threats to send me to collections after they offered a refund. Read the agreement carefully and question why there are so many clauses protecting the company from legal action, requiring repayment if you break contract, but no protection for you. Compare this to other companies and you will be find the legal language excessively protective of Smartsites rights against you. **What problems is SmartSites solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am a start-up business that hired Smartsites to provide SEO & PPC services. I had a new website with a Google rating of 85 when I joined. Smartsites promised to improve the quality of my Google rating, provide 40 hours of SEO work per month with specific deliverables defined to be completed each month to achieve my goal. They were to provide Google ad services while I built my SEO presence. I was spending about $2600/mo on their services + $1500 in ad spend. Not an inexpensive indevor for a start-up, but I thought I was getting a 5-star proven partner that would excelerate my business growth. Instead, Smartsites did not deliver the agreed upon deliverables ontime each month, they did not complete the hours I paid for each month, and the quality of the work was that of middle-school amatuer writing, which I had to request be redone after it was already a month behind schedule. My project manager was too busy to meet with me. She cancelled meetings on me and was only accessible by emails early in the morning or end of day after she ended a day of meetings with people other than me. My PPC rep repeatedly told me he was very busy, which I believe, because the performance of my ads in a very busy market space was abysmal. ### 4. We checked into several video testimonials and found they indeed were also fake **Recommendations to others considering SmartSites:** Avoid this company who states they have 100s of employees and offices at 45 Eisenhower Drive but when you actually go toeh building the comany is not there and seems no employees. Smartsites will also not meet with you personally in any location. Avoid this company and do not beleive anything they posted on their website **What problems is SmartSites solving and how is that benefiting you?** Smartsites NEVER performed any service promised for over a five month relationship. In fact they actually lowered our web rankings, made serious mistakes in spelling and formatting on our website. We discovered they do not have any offices as their webstie states at 45 Eisenhower Drive. Seem Smarsites hires per diem workers and provides no oversight. Research in Yelp and ohter viable sources shows many companies have been scammed by these pros. AVOID SmartSites they can not do the work they claim.
