I use Smartsheet mainly for project and task management, tracking deliverables, deadlines, and progress across a team. I really like the control it gives over access, as I can ask someone to update just a specific field or section without handing over access to the entire sheet, keeping things clean and reducing the risk of accidental changes elsewhere. I'm also a big fan of the Dynamic View feature; it lets me expose only the relevant records or fields to someone without sharing the full source sheet. It saves a lot of back and forth around permissions and data privacy. When I need to share progress with someone like a client or manager who doesn’t need to see the underlying structure or sensitive columns, I can build a view that only shows what’s relevant to them. This 'safe' version of the sheet is already there and stays live. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost is probably my biggest concern—the per-user pricing adds up quickly as a team grows, making it harder to justify rolling it out more broadly. I'd like to see more flexible pricing for occasional or view-only users who don't need full functionality. The other limitation is the reliance on an internet connection. Most of the work requires being online, so there's no reliable way to view or update sheets when connectivity is spotty. That becomes a real problem when I'm traveling or working somewhere with an unstable connection. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
