**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I appreciate Smartsheet's ability to create and operate sheets that I can share with customers and my organization. It lets me organize data efficiently, which helps me see where we stand on projects. I also like the flexibility of updating and moving things around to meet customer needs, like adding or subtracting columns or arranging them in a specific order. The initial setup was pretty good too.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Copying and pasting when a column gets deleted in error. I'd like to be able to just revert it rather than having to copy and paste.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Smartsheet to create sheets that I can share with customers and colleagues. It helps me sort projects, showing where we stand, and allows me to update and customize as needed.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I created some advanced applications in Smartsheet a couple of years ago. It has great functionality (plus some glaring weaknesses) but at least it had good support back then.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Having recently resubscribed I am unable to access my old sheets and reports etc and Support simply ignores my many requests for assistance. Plus, they recently changed the billing method so that every user pays which makes it very expensive. Plus, they require a minimum of 3 seats on the Business plan which means that I would have to pay $1000 per year when I am the only developer.
In short, do not buy Smartsheet. It's now an unreliable platform and too expensive.

I like the board view option. It’s easy for clients to use and helps them get updates on tickets by clearly showing each ticket’s status.

There is nothing that I do not like about Smartsheet at this time.

Smartsheet helps us organize a handful of client tickets, and it also lets clients move items across the board as they work through them.

I don't like smartsheet - it is painful to use

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Everything

The software looks pretty, which is why I urged my organization to buy it. However in practice, it is extremely un-helpful and non-intuitive. For example, formatting rules overwrite cell specific formatting. Formatting then propagates from smartsheets to reports to dashboards -> makes formatting a nightmare.

There are so many functions that are half-baked.

File management is awful -> especially when sharing and receiving smartsheets from other people.

It meets some of the basic requirements of a project management software.

It is an incredibly powerful bridge between simple data entry and dynamic, collaborative work execution. It takes the chaos out of team projects and puts it all into a clean, actionable perspective!

Sometimes the permissions are revoked without any reason. There is a learning curve.

The ability to easily set up automated workflows—like sending out reminders, requesting approvals, or updating row statuses based on triggers—is fantastic. It takes the tedious "busywork" out of human hands so teams can focus on actual problem-solving.

forms and the automation is a breeze but the reporting is nowhere near as easy to maneuver

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I like most of the general functionality of Smartsheet and the fact that it is online. It always auto-saves, which is very convenient. The integration between sheets is very important as it allows us to have specific sheets for production planning and procurement, and all of it links back to one master database seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

The form builder is a bit limited as it doesn't allow to add images to the QA documentation, which is something we require.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Smartsheet as a master database and ERP system. It keeps everything in one place, is cheaper, and makes exporting to AI tools as a CSV easy, helping us understand our data.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I really like the simplicity of changing between the 'Excel' view and Gantt view in Smartsheet. The agile approach with Kanbans is also a plus. The automation feature is great because it lets me remind someone about an action without having to remember it myself. I also appreciate the ability to attach files to issues, like a PowerPoint or image, to explain what's been done or what the problem is. The comments feature is helpful since they automatically show up as a field in the table, so there's no need to check each line to see what's been completed. I also find linking cells invaluable; this feature allows me to have a very detailed work document and then derive an executive or manager view that only extracts milestones without duplicating my team's work.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Few things like: 1. I would like a third column on the Gantt chart to show the delay part, like Start Date, Due Date, and Actual Completion Date. If the action is not completed, extend the Gantt until it finishes so I can easily see the delay. 2. Dependency for the reporting - when creating a report, I would like to have the dependencies visible.

Smartsheet eases tracking activities and standardizes formats with Gantt Charts, streamlines views from Excel to Gantt, supports Agile with Kanbans, automates reminders, and links detailed documents to executive views for efficient project management.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I find Smartsheet very user-friendly, which allows me to make changes to line items in my project easily. The feature of allowing multiple people to work on one project at the same time is something I really appreciate. Additionally, the notification system is helpful as it notifies me when line items are past due or when someone else working on the project has updated a line.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

When I receive a notification and click on what was changed, I never get a clear understanding of what has exactly changed. I have to did deeper beyond the email notification which is very time consuming.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet notifies me of past due items and updates from others. It's user-friendly for making project changes and allows multiple people to work on a project simultaneously.

I appreciate the "Most Recent" tab which helps me navigate Smartsheet super well.

I don't see many downsides to navigating this program.

I'm able to navigate all of the different pages that I need to to get my job done. I especially like the forms page that allows us to gather info and drop it into a spreadsheet.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I use Smartsheet for Marketing Project Management. It helps me track my marketing campaigns and events and share the information amongst multiple teams. I like that it is easy to use and similar to Excel but with more functionality. Tracking when tasks are complete helps me stay on track. The initial setup of Smartsheet was easy.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Their customer service and hidden terms are horrible. I was recently charged for 14 users when I am just one. I issued multiple complaints and they hid behind terms that I never saw nor knew where they were. I couldn't get anyone on the phone to discuss. I tried using their support chat, but it was just a bot who couldn't help with anything. When I finally got someone via email they didn't help nor did they offer me any type of refund. My Smartsheet payments go to an account I don't access regularly, so I didn't see it until I was overcharged over $1000 dollars. Horrifying experience. Their policy is no refunds. Billing practices need to be clearer and they need to prompt users when they make changes that will impact costs. I had shared Smartsheets with users with edit modes that weren't under my plan and then suddenly they were. When I added people there was no prompt telling me that I would be charged more.

I use Smartsheet to track my marketing campaigns and events and share information with multiple teams. It helps me stay on track.

I find Smartsheet easy to use, which makes managing and tracking multiple projects simpler. I appreciate the platform's capability to link plans and data, which reduces the need to constantly switch between different data storage points. This functionality makes important information readily available at my fingertips, thus enhancing my productivity. Additionally, the secure login feature, especially using email, ensures my information is protected from being seen by others. The initial setup of Smartsheet was very simple, making the transition smooth from the previous tool I used, Excel.

I find the input of formulas to calculate sums challenging.

There isn't truly anything I dislike about Smartsheet, perhaps as I use it more some things will come to mind

If you search for a word, the sheet doesn't highlight the cell properly to show that this specific cell contain the searched text

you can create a filter and save if for future use. With filters on multiple columns, it make it easy to just select that saved filter and avoid re-applying filters to multiple columns.

I like the Reports feature in Smartsheet. It filters out specific rows based on certain criteria met, along with grouping and counts.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I don't like that the dashboard widgets aren't easy to edit, especially when it comes to changing colors and uniformly transforming the theme. It's also not easy to add or remove multiple sheets to reports. And when you pick a theme, the background color applies to all widgets, which looks odd behind image widgets, instead of allowing for selective application.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I like that Smartsheet is easy to navigate and collaborate with other people. It sends notifications to my email when I am tagged, which is really helpful. Our Smartsheet instance automatically creates a sheet including all of my projects, making it an easy place to keep me organized with all my information in place. The sheet even includes links to our detailed project plans and timelines and imports important information to keep everything in order. The initial setup was easy because we have trainings and tools available.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I think cell references can be made easier. This is my first organization that uses Smartsheet, and it is difficult to navigate some cell references and rules.

I use Smartsheet for project management, resources, and staying organized by creating sheets with project links and timelines for easy access to all my information.

It is helpful to build timelines and recreate other timelines without having to start from scratch. If a deadline changes, it is easy to update and see how the overall timeline is impacted. It is very straightforward and doesn't require a lot of training to get started.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I wish the user interface looked a little more sophisticated than a fancier excel spreadsheet. While it is fairly easy to use, sometimes it can feel clunky and like there could be an easier way to do things.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I use Smartsheet for tracking our business quoted and invoiced work, and it serves as a program schedule for completed work. I find it nicer and simpler compared to Excel, which confuses me. I appreciate that it all makes sense to me and offers plenty of customization. I particularly like being able to change views from a Grid or Calendar, and the simple customizations like fonts and colors make everything clearer and easier to understand. Modifying the sheet is nice and easy if needed.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

A complaint I have is that if two people are using it at the same time, it is very easy to type over someone's data they just filled in without realizing. If it had something like Google's sheet with real-time cell updates without having to refresh, it would save the issue of writing over someone else's entry.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Smartsheet to track business quoted and invoiced work, schedule completed work, and manage upcoming quotes. It solves the problem of knowing what work we've won, scheduled, and completed.

I like the collaboration with others that you get from Smartsheet. It allows you and your team to update projects in real time.

Smartsheet does not allow you to copy/paste in or out of the program. Many times it would be very convenient to copy an email or other information from another document instead of having to completely retype.

Smartsheet allows us to create interactive forms that can be used in placing orders or completing information. This has saved us alot of time and effort.

I like the ability to update the progress of the project timeline and send emails. Smartsheet's built-in features let us track dates and percentage of progress efficiently. I appreciate how it allows us to create dependencies to alter dates as needed. It's helpful that when adding comments, I can tag people to send notifications, which keeps everyone informed.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Formatting is not when sending the comments againt an item. It will be great to have formatting options like word doc to embed link or bold, bullet points, etc within the comments section

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Smartsheet for managing project schedules, tracking open action items, and sending timely notifications. The ability to update progress and create dependencies enhances project implementation. Tagging people in comments also helps with effective communication.

This one sheet can pull data from multiple sheets to populate its cells. You can customize existing sheets, and you can also create your own unique ones. Once you have this data you can analyze your performance and plan your workflow accordingly. The "help" tab is very easy to follow.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

At times, the sheets are very slow to load, update, and save. In some cases, this has caused the system to freeze. When you need data during those moments, it can be really frustrating—especially if you have a customer waiting right next to you.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It used to be time-consuming to find the right sheets we were looking for. Now we’ve created a front dashboard with shortcuts to most of the sheets we need every day, which makes it much easier to navigate.

There is a lot of custom functionality. For our organization Smartsheet has been used for serveral functions and projects. It is a smart versatile tool.

There is a bit of a learning curve, but there is a lot of learning materials on Smartsheet and online.

Even with the learning curve, Smartsheet offers plenty of live webinars that show how to use the tool, including walkthroughs of new updates.

the UI is intuitive, there are more features than Excel.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I can’t work in offline mode, and it would be much better if that were possible. Also, it would be great to have some kind of onboarding to help new users get started.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I like all of Smartsheet's capabilities and how it's easy to do formulas and have information shared across sheets. I also really like that you can make a dropdown for rows/columns but easily override that if needed. I like that it has a very large capacity and does not get slow with more information being on it. We use the feature that allows us to pull information from one sheet to the other without needing a VLOOKUP, which makes for fewer errors and less work. The dropdowns are helpful for filling in data across many clients for our campaigns, and I appreciate that I can easily override and put in custom info without having to change the whole dropdown list, which makes things faster and more simple.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I would love the ability to allow other people to edit certain columns, but not the whole sheet - so that we could lock some columns but not all of them for when we need other teams to contribute to filling information in. I also wish it was simpler to copy and paste. Oh and sometimes, when we have formulas on the sheet - if we're trying to do a drop down in that column there keeps being a box that pops up to show what formulas that cell is used in and it's difficult to make it go away and sometimes it blocks out the drop down that I'm trying to edit.

Smartsheet helps share client data seamlessly across teams, reducing duplication and errors. I use formulas and connect data across sheets without vlookups, simplifying our processes. Its capacity handles large data without slowing down, making our work faster and more efficient.

Likely a consequence of my age and years in the industry, and a fear of change perhaps (LOL) but I found it too time consuming and dare I say bloated?

for consistency among all staff in multiple locations with many different amounts of experience, it will benefit ND for sure.  I need to learn to embrace it, but its hard for me thus far.

I do like the builder feature in Smartsheet; it's useful for building solutions like lead management and procurement systems. The feedback forms are also great for capturing data during UATs, allowing customers to log feedback, which we can then use effectively. Being able to configure workflows and make update requests through email is another aspect I find useful. Plus, Smartsheet is intuitive despite it sometimes being difficult for users to find information. The automation features help me get the information I need efficiently.

I don't like the user seat aspect that Smartsheet has brought in. It's forcing additional licenses and just making it too expensive for a company to afford.

I use Smartsheet for simple workflows. I find the user-friendliness fantastic; it's really very easy to set up a workflow. The look & feel is very pleasant. Additionally, it's very easy to turn an idea for a process into an actual process because it works very intuitively. The installation was very simple and just went through my credit card. You can also create very nice forms and centrally manage the responses in worksheets.

I sometimes still have to search in the menu bar. It looks somewhat like Microsoft's, but it's just a bit different. Perhaps you could follow Microsoft's order.

I like that you're able to add links and attach documents that are relevant to a specific file and file name. It shows when tasks are done with the smart ticks and provides updates on who is editing the sheet. The interactivity really shines once you get to know it.

I think maybe allowing images to be directly imported into the sheet, which is visible. Maybe timers to better increase production. Things that'll come down to a deadline. It wasn't that easy to set up and similar to Excel, but it does take a while to get used to. The intricacies and the available tools and helpful additions are not available on other spreadsheets.
