## Smartsheet Reviews
  ### 1. Smartsheet is a great tool that makes my job easier to do.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tina C. | Senior Specialist - Global Supply Chain Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

My favorite thing about Smartsheet is how flexible it is. You can use it for just about anything. It's also very simple to make changes to a solution once it's been created. It's nice to be able to pivot when needed!

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet dashboards are generally good, but I’m disappointed that there isn’t an option to filter or drill down into the data. The visualizations also feel somewhat limited when compared to other tools I’ve used. Another issue is that users frequently suggest improvements, even small and straightforward ones, but these changes either never get implemented or take an extremely long time to appear. At the same time, features that no one requested, like Collections, are introduced instead. It would be great if the company listened more closely to its customers.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet saves us time by having all the data we need at our fingertips to make quick decisions. It's also made our teams more effecient because it's so easy to use!

  ### 2. Polished and usefull tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I appreciate how it evolves and improves over time. The API is very useful and works great. In general, it is easy to use. I use the tool every day at my job, and it's integrated with some external apps.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Sometimes the changes take a bit more time than expected. The bad part is that, with some of the new views, not all functionalities are available.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Interconnects multiple projects and tables, making it easy to track project status. it improves the performance, and making it a good roi

  ### 3. Portfolio Visibility with a "One Team" Feel Thanks to Standardization and Collaboration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexis B. | IT Business and Client Experience Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

The ability to collaborate and standardize are the two most critical features that make Smartsheet the tool of choice.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

There are some features and functionalities that I would have expected to translate (especially some basic ones that are found in MS Project or even Excel) like in cell rich text formatting, exporting pdf with the today's date line, and a few others.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Standardizing project plans across 30+ sites and thousands of users was non-existent prior to Smartsheet. Every client interaction felt like working with a completely different customer even within the same site and team. Implementing Smartsheet made it easier to be more consistent and reduce timeline delays. It also helped with Risk identification and management - providing more visibility into any critical path delays.

  ### 4. Great for Task Prioritization, but have a lot areas of improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rosa T. | Business Analyst, Manufacturing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I used it everyday for prioritizing my tasks and create my requests.
It allowed me to keep a live conversation with my collaborators.
Currently, I use it to share database chart info as translations, multiple information lists, then based on that create the SQL tables that I need.
I also keep track of projects status.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

When i copied a row it didn't drag the files that were in the original, so i had to attached again.
I wasn't able to include images on my comments, I was only able to attach PDF files.
I was not able to link it to outlook, and create my requests from there.
I did not receive notification unless my collaborator tags me.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a place where I can see all my tasks and request from my different brands, so we could prioritize work.
Currently, we are able to share multiple Database information, and keep a track of the different versions.
Create vacation forms and keep a log/history of all requests.

  ### 5. Project management tool with great collaboration features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

User-friendly: Smartsheet is quite easy to use, even for end users who aren’t very familiar with technology.

Fostered collaboration: One of Smartsheet’s biggest advantages is how easy it makes collaboration. It provides a centralised environment where changes are tracked in the history, and real-time notifications are sent. It’s also simple to integrate links to Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Drive, which helps keep project documentation clear, organised, and accessible.

Customization options: More experienced users can create custom templates, workflows, and automated alerts to adapt the tool to the company’s specific needs. Overall, there’s a wide range of customization available.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

The customization options are complex and time-consuming, even for expert users, and they’re also very difficult to maintain over time. When issues come up with templates, workflows, or automatisms, fixes are often applied only to new plans rather than to existing ones, which creates additional effort.

There are no interactive reports or dashboards for view-only users, so other tools are needed to work around these limitations. In our case, we exported the data and presented it to our top management team using Looker Studio.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet simplifies the tracking and management of regulatory activities by avoiding the fragmented use of different files and systems. It reduces manual tasks and improves efficiency, while also supporting better harmonization across our processes.

  ### 6. Smartsheet Streamlines Task Management with Helpful Intake Forms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darshan M. | Marketing Automation Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet has been very useful for organizing my tasks, especially with the intake form, which makes the process much smoother. The steps it provides are genuinely helpful for tracking the progress and current stage of my team's tickets.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

There isn't much to comment on overall, but I did notice one thing: I have to click 'save' every time I make changes to the sheet. An auto-save feature would have been much more convenient.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, our organization struggled with unstructured workflows. After implementing Smartsheet, we began using a ticketing approach through Intake forms. Now, when someone submits a request, a team member receives a notification based on the information provided, allowing us to take prompt action. This system has also made it much easier to track the progress of any assigned tasks. As a result, all stakeholders now have better visibility into the status of tasks that have been assigned or requested, which has been highly beneficial.

  ### 7. Easy to use, Workspace an much more!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oscar Roberto W. | Latam Program Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

It´s easy to use, cloud based solution gives the chance to use it from anywhere.
With the right path of improvements it´s a great tool

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

The import of Ms Project files to have better sync

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Info integrated in one place around Gantt

  ### 8. Visibility and Collaboration

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Naveed J. | Chief Digital Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet combines spreadsheet simplicity with good project management. It helps us plan, track, automate, and collaborate in one place with flexible views, dashboards that improve visibility, accountability, and efficiency across our projects and teams.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Recently, Smartsheet has become more expensive, and there is a noticeable learning curve when it comes to its advanced features. It is not the best choice for in-depth document editing or managing highly complex projects. The options for customization are somewhat limited, and if you need extensive automation or advanced reporting, you may have to opt for higher-tier plans.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool has been very helpful in managing the tasks assigned by senior management. The notification and reminder automations are especially useful and make our work much easier.

  ### 9. Smartsheet: A Great Collaboration Tool with Significant Advantages Over Excel Sheets in OneDrive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zbigniew K. | Manager - Global Packaging Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet offers ease of implementation and seamless integration with ETL software. It’s a reliable platform that supports efficient workflows and collaboration.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Sharing content with individuals who don’t have a license can be challenging. Unlike MS Excel and OneDrive, Smartsheet requires a license, which limits accessibility for non-licensed users.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have developed a tool that retrieves daily information from our TMS stored in an MS SQL table. This data is processed using Alteryx Designer and updated in Smartsheet through Alteryx Scheduler. Smartsheet automation helps streamline workflows by sending email reminders to users when specific criteria are met. Additionally, we use a manual tracker in Smartsheet to efficiently register extra information that isn’t available in TMS.

To integrate Smartsheet into our workflow, we built a custom Alteryx workflow to update Smartsheet data via its API. This was relatively simple, thanks to Smartsheet’s easy API access to its tables. As a result, this workflow and Smartsheet have allowed us to save 10–20% of our daily time, which can now be allocated to other tasks. Moreover, Smartsheet provides a more professional appearance and better archiving capabilities compared to Excel sheets stored on OneDrive.

  ### 10. It makes your work easier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rayco Z. | Senior Project Manager (Development), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

This is a powerful tool for organizations seeking a collaborative, flexible, and scalable platform for managing work. While it may lack some of the advanced scheduling tools of specialized PM software like Microsoft Project, its ease of use, integration capabilities, and automation features make it a compelling solution for a wide range of use cases—from small teams to enterprise-scale operations.

Ideal for: Teams looking for a bridge between traditional spreadsheets and fully-featured project management systems, especially where collaboration and real-time updates are critical.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

* Some standard usability features (e.g. multi‑select rows or cells, adjusting row height, copying column metadata uniformly) are missing or limited.
* Smartsheet’s formula capabilities are less rich than Excel in some respects, especially with complex formulas, multi‑sheet relational operations, advanced conditional formatting etc.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of Smartsheet's standout features is its intuitive, spreadsheet-style layout. For teams already accustomed to using Excel or Google Sheets, the learning curve is minimal. This familiarity helps new users get up to speed quickly without the need for extensive training.
Smartsheet’s automation capabilities allow users to create workflows for approvals, alerts, reminders, and updates without writing a single line of code. These automations reduce manual follow-ups and keep projects moving forward.

  ### 11. Smartsheet is powerful, but it could improve by increasing the cell limit.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nishant J. | Senior Procurement Project Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

What I like best about Smartsheet is how it streamlines our procurement workflows. It’s great for real-time collaboration, automating approvals, and tracking requests—all while aligning with Company's policies. It saves time and keeps everything transparent.

Flexibility across teams: Whether I’m working with commodity managers, buyers, or CPMS, Smartsheet adapts to different roles and needs. It’s become our go-to platform for everything from training sessions to escalation tracking.

Visibility and tracking: Dashboards and dynamic views give me instant insight into request statuses, ownership, and bottlenecks. It’s especially helpful when managing vendor onboarding or tracking policy compliance.

Workflow automation: From vendor master requests to payment term exceptions, Smartsheet automates status changes, approvals, and notifications, which saves time and reduces manual errors.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

There are a few areas where improvements could be made. For example, it would be helpful if Smartsheet allowed for multiple line requests when entering purchase orders, as this feature is currently missing. Additionally, I have encountered issues when using multiple workflows, as they can sometimes conflict with each other and cause problems with automation triggers. Another limitation is the 500,000 cell cap, which restricts the platform's usefulness for large-scale data reporting.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet helps solve key challenges in procurement project management by streamlining workflows, improving visibility, and reducing manual effort. For me, it’s been a game-changer in managing vendor setups, GR requests, and milestone tracking. I can automate approvals, monitor progress in real time, and collaborate across teams—all in one place. It’s made my work faster, more organized, and easier to report on.

  ### 12. Intuitive Interface and Powerful Collaboration Make Work Effortless

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aakarsh B. | App Developer III, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

What I appreciate most about Smartsheet is its intuitive spreadsheet-style interface, which is paired with robust automation and collaboration capabilities. This combination allows me to easily track work, set up alerts and approvals, and keep my team aligned in real time, all without the need for complicated project management software. Additionally, the dashboards and reports make it simple to transform data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

One drawback of Smartsheet is that its more advanced features, such as automation, resource management, and in-depth reporting, can be complicated to set up and frequently necessitate a higher-tier license. Additionally, performance may decrease when working with very large sheets, and there is a noticeable learning curve once you move past basic spreadsheet-like functions.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Martsheet addresses the issue of fragmented work tracking and limited visibility among teams by bringing everything together in a single platform. It consolidates tasks, timelines, and ownership, while also automating reminders, approvals, and status updates. As a result, collaboration has become smoother, manual follow-ups have decreased, and there is now greater real-time insight into project progress and potential bottlenecks.

  ### 13. Powerful once you climb the learning curve

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joan S. | Scientist, Gene Therapy Research, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

It gives you the flexibility of a spreadsheet with the structure of a light project-management tool. Templates and forms made it easy to standardize how we collect info, and automations (alerts, update requests, reminders) save me a lot of follow-up time. Dashboards are handy for quick status views, and permissions let me share a sheet with different levels of access without making a mess. I use it once a week to track tasks and small projects, and once things are set up, it keeps everyone aligned.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

There’s definitely a steep learning curve. The formula syntax and cross-sheet references feel a bit different from Excel/Google Sheets, so it took me a while to get comfortable. Permissions can be fiddly (especially when multiple people are editing), and large sheets slow down more than I’d like. Some reporting and Gantt print options are limited, and the mobile app is fine for checking status but not great for building anything. Integrations beyond the basics (e.g., premium connectors) may require higher tiers or admin setup, which adds friction during implementation. Overall, it’s powerful—but expect to invest time up front to get real value.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s helping me keep projects organized in one place instead of juggling between spreadsheets, emails, and task lists. Having tasks, due dates, and files tied together makes it easier for the team to stay on the same page. The automatic reminders and update requests reduce the amount of chasing I’d normally have to do, which saves time and keeps things moving. For me, the main benefit is transparency, everyone can see progress and responsibilities without needing a separate status meeting.

  ### 14. Streamlined and Efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debbie . | Senior Faculty Development Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet has been a game-changer for managing projects and team collaboration. The platform is intuitive, flexible, and allows us to customize workflows to match our needs. Features like automated alerts, dashboards, and collaborative sheets make it easy to keep everyone aligned and on track.

The ability to centralize tasks, deadlines, and updates in one place has saved our team a significant amount of time. It’s streamlined our processes and improved visibility across projects, which has made communication more efficient and reduced the need for status meetings.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

While Smartsheet is powerful, reporting can feel a bit limited. Building detailed or highly customized reports isn’t always intuitive, and sometimes it takes extra time to pull the exact insights we need. The reporting features work well for basic overviews, but more flexibility and easier formatting options would make them even stronger.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet has helped reduce the manual effort of managing projects by automating repetitive tasks. The automation features for assigning tasks and sending reminders ensure that nothing slips through the cracks and that team members stay accountable without constant follow-up.

Filtering makes it easy to view only the information that’s relevant, which cuts down on clutter and helps us focus on priorities. Altogether, these features save time, keep projects moving forward, and give us better visibility into progress.

  ### 15. Smart, easy way to keep track of what's going on within the business.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason W. | Installation co-ordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

What I find most helpful about Smartsheet is that it provides a single, flexible platform for managing work and ensuring everyone stays aligned. Many other tools tend to focus solely on task tracking, spreadsheets, or project management individually, but Smartsheet brings all of these elements together in one place.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

The size and performance limits of sheets can become an issue, as large or complex sheets may slow down or reach row and cell restrictions. There is also a learning curve; while the tool is powerful, it can feel overwhelming initially. Cost is another consideration, since accessing advanced features often requires higher-tier licenses or additional add-ons. The mobile app has its own limitations, offering fewer features compared to the desktop version. When it comes to reporting and visuals, the options are less flexible than what you would find in dedicated BI tools.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet greatly enhances organization, transparency, and efficiency by bringing all project information, tasks, and communications together on a single platform. This approach helps minimize delays and miscommunication, while providing teams with clear insight into responsibilities, upcoming deadlines, and possible bottlenecks. By making collaboration more seamless and automating routine workflows, it saves time, boosts accountability, and helps keep projects progressing smoothly and as planned.

  ### 16. Smartsheet for Efficiency and Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cassidy B. | Benefit Administration Technical Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I like the communication aspect of Smartsheet, which takes away reliance on Teams and Outlook, for clients and users that do not have Microsoft. I am able to track the status of projects in real time, receive email notifications when someone tags me, and attach documents as needed. It really helps my team be efficient, stay on track, and be held accountable. I use Smartsheet daily for multiple aspects of my job, and it has truly been a game changer.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I would like to see more customization capabilities and possibly some more user-friendly ways to access chat and attachment features. The form generation is great, but some users are still able to manipulate fields they otherwise should not be able to.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet allows my team to better collaborate and re-assign tasks as needed. Since it is online, we are all able to access Smartsheet from anywhere.

  ### 17. Seamless Data Collection with User-Friendly Forms

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley A. | Executive Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I really appreciate that they offer forms. Having a front-facing form for people to fill out, with all the data accessible on the back end, has been extremely useful. I also enjoy using the automation workflows and conditional formatting features.

Additionally, we've used the program for handling applications and have connected it to Slack. The ability to integrate these tools and automate updates has been impressive.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I really wish the phone app offered more functionality. At the moment, navigating through it and reviewing the data is quite difficult. Additionally, the Card view and tasks section could use an update. Everything feels confusing right now, and the fact that you can only see your tasks in specific views makes the experience feel disorganized.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applications for a program we run yearly.

Capturing attendance for credit purposes.

Keeping track of training sessions and billing stages.

Monitoring the stages of superintendent search stages.

  ### 18. Excel Alternative with Robust Form Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tasneem M. | Pharmacist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I like that we can attach stuff to the line, link cells, and link sheets. I enjoy creating forms and appreciate that creating a form from a template and mapping it saves me hours by generating a form efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I want to be able to freeze a column or hide and unhide one column at a time, not all. I don't like that it doesn't have a recovery feature for cases where the laptop switches off.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet allows me to store data in one place, create forms easily, and link sheets like an improved Excel. By generating forms from templates, it saves me hours.

  ### 19. Revolutionized Our Collaboration and Data Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Syed M. | Service Delivery Manager, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I appreciate Smartsheet as a replacement for Excel, especially with the additional cell capabilities for managing project data and tracking progress. I like that I can consolidate multiple spreadsheets into one and use it as a task scheduler with progress updates. It's very helpful for collaboration when multiple people work on it since everyone can update it simultaneously. The auto-save feature is amazing, and I find the reminders and updates quite helpful. I love being able to connect Smartsheet to Slack and Salesforce, allowing me to import workflows and get immediate notifications on Slack when tasks are updated. The capacity to upload forms from Salesforce and track progress is just brilliant. I also enjoy that it doesn't have cell constraints, which is perfect for uploading lots of cloud metadata for analysis.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Until you learn the tool, you may get confused as there are too many options, and we are not aware of those in detail. It doesn't have an option to work offline—this is a major drawback. Not friendly on mobile. Offline version could be helpful if it can be available.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Smartsheet as a replacement for Excel, with more cells and features like task scheduling and progress tracking. It consolidates multiple spreadsheets into one, allowing simultaneous collaboration, auto-saving, and helpful reminders. Integrations with Slack and Salesforce streamline workflow and data management.

  ### 20. Effective and intuitive Demand and Project management Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco P. | IT Business Partner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

SmartSheet stands out as a powerful yet intuitive platform that transforms how teams manage IT demand and projects. Its ease of use is one of its most compelling features—users can quickly create dynamic sheets, dashboards, and workflows without needing advanced technical skills. The interface is clean and familiar, making onboarding smooth for both technical and non-technical users.
In terms of efficiency, SmartSheet significantly boosts productivity by centralizing project tracking, resource allocation, and demand intake. IT teams can easily prioritize requests, monitor progress, and align deliverables with business goals, reducing manual follow-ups and ensure that nothing falls through the cracks.
SmartSheet also excels in team collaboration. With shared sheets, comments and assigned tasks, cross-functional teams stay aligned and informed. Everyone—from business stakeholders to developers—can contribute and stay updated in one unified workspace.
Whether you're managing a complex IT portfolio or coordinating across departments, SmartSheet provides the flexibility and control needed to deliver results faster and smarter.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Some integrations with other systems like ticket management systems require ad-hoc development efforts. Lacks of resource management tools.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Demand and Project management tracking and reporting, multi-teams collaboration

  ### 21. Efficient Setup and Great for Task Scheduling, But Lacks Task Connectivity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pēteris C.

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I appreciate Smartsheet for its speed and performance, as it operates quite quickly compared to other tools I’ve used. The ease of setup is another great advantage, making it straightforward to get started without any hassle. The filtering system is particularly valuable to me, as it allows me to organize and categorize tasks efficiently, making task management much simpler. Additionally, the overall usability of Smartsheet is quite easy, fostering user-friendly navigation which I find beneficial.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I dislike that Smartsheet lacks the ability to connect one task to another, which limits the functionality and visual clarity for managing related tasks. Additionally, the performance slows down when too many tasks are open in one sheet, which impacts efficiency when dealing with large volumes of work.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Smartsheet to manage and schedule tasks, leave comments, and attach files, enhancing coordination and task tracking. It facilitated task categorization and filtering, making it easier to organize and find information.

  ### 22. Easy to use and learn

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas T. | Data Analytics Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet is designed similar to Excel spreadsheet. I work with Excel daily. Therefore, I feel comfortable to understand the logics/functions used in Smartsheet and cell–row interactions largely mirror Excel’s. Again, it's so similar to Excel that I learn how to use it quickly.

Also, Smartsheet adds some helpful features: conditional formatting to color-code or highlight cells and rows when criteria are met, built-in dropdowns for controlled selections, and cross-sheet cell linking so I can pull everything I need into one place for review and action.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I once had to build a survey in Smartsheet. It was great for capturing responses and tabulating them, no problem there. But the form builder felt pretty limited. Simple forms are easy, but when I tried to create something more complex—like letting respondents enter multiple products and prices in a little table with some conditional logic—I hit a wall. There wasn’t a native way to do multi-row inputs or more advanced branching, so I had to simplify the form.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I oversee data team's work across multiple projects, and each one has its own Smartsheet that the PM updates. I can't go through every Smartsheet to pick up information related to data side. It will take a lot of time. So, I built a roll-up Smartsheet that links key cells from all of them. Now when a PM updates something, it pops up in one place and I can spot requests or urgent data tasks immediately. It’s saved me a ton of clicks and cut down on misses.

  ### 23. An Accessible Learning Curve That Will Cover 90% of Use Cases

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

As a daily user, I think that SmartSheet excels in its user accessibility. Formulas have quick-reference tutorials with each function that explain its use, what each argument consists of, and most importantly which part of the formula you are specifically editing. Cell references are logically named by column, and working with conditional formatting is a breeze. The ability to attach forms and automations to a sheet is extremely valuable, and also very easy to implement. Smartsheet also has excellent change management tracking with its activity log, and each row having its own attachments and columns set aside helps with organization and clarity.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Where SmartSheet can improve is in its more advanced use cases and quality-of-life options. For example, the formula bar in excel is not available, but is essential for writing more advanced nested formulas. Removing steps or conditions in your automation trees will also remove everything underneath it, which make it difficult to revise if conditions change during a sheet's development. There are often times where I'm searching for simpler solutions, only to be met with "That's a great idea, please suggest it in our forums below" answers from years ago.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SmartSheet is our go-to solution when working with forms and distributing workflows. The ability to easily delegate the hundreds of weekly tasks from our intake form promotes a smooth workflow, and the ease in setting up automation makes it effortless to test and confirm that the process can scale smoothly.

  ### 24. Less friction by using smartsheet

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

The option to automate and dispatch between third party app's like docusign.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

The new license model that prevents those with a Smartsheet Server to use free collaborator accounts. Instead they have to have a paid license or sign in with a third party domain to continue to use that service. That is a huge impact for us and how we decide to use smartsheets. A majority of our users require the free collaborator accounts where we do not have a issue buying a license for those developers. Not every user requires a license just to "click or type into a box".

Not all features overed on the server plan are included which leads to a person having to upgrade to a most expensive plan.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it is reducing duplicated efforts by triggering automations using third party apps to send and collect data making the process LEAN and less friction for the user and client.

  ### 25. Decent Features, But Lacks Support

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** OLUWATOBI O.

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I like that Smartsheet automates some processes for us. Even though we are still learning about all its capabilities, it already seems to be helping with generating reports. I'm starting to get familiar with its control center, which might further improve our process automation. I also believe that once we fully understand Smartsheet, it will streamline more tasks, aid in high-level reporting and dashboards, and make our presentations and milestone tracking much more efficient. Although my first impression wasn't all perfect, as we continue to explore, I am optimistic that we will realize its full potential.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I find the reporting process in Smartsheet challenging as it seems like a one-way system. It feels limited because reports appear to be generated strictly from sheets without allowing much feedback or integration back into the sheets effectively. Additionally, I haven't been receiving adequate customer support. My customer representative, Bridget, has been unresponsive to emails, and I've struggled to arrange sessions to clarify certain functionalities. While I've tried using Prodigx, the thirty-minute time allocation is insufficient for comprehensive support. Moreover, the transition from Excel to Smartsheet has been slow, as we're still dependent on Excel due to our learning curve with Smartsheet.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I expect Smartsheet to automate processes, enhance reporting, and track project milestones better than Excel, although we're still learning its full capabilities.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

That I can use it for all types of documents, if its a drawing to do a markup, or if its a contract I need to sign. I also like the markups and measurements tools. I had no need for previous training and never had any issued that required customer support. I use it on a daily basis and it's a pretty good tool.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

the highlight tool always gives me a hard time, but other then that I believe it's pretty easy to use. Another thing is that when I change to board mode, I cant set up alarms and notifications

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it mostly to do markups on drawings to send it to designers. it benefits me because I dont need another software to do it ( typically Id need Autocad or Revit to be able to open the drawings and do the markups there)

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

We have found Control Center to be a very powerful tool in keeping our resources organized. We are a service provider, we accept multi-sample project submissions through a form and then track progress of each project, each sample through sheets generated with Control Center. We are able to record data as we proceed and have our overview sheets update immediately, allowing us to actively track all projects in our queue at once

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

It can be very hard to follow the flow of information through SmartSheet. Between forms, automations, archiving workflows, and formulas, we have found it hard to track ownership of assets and the sources of certain pieces of information. We have resources that don't appear to be owned by anyone and SS has not been able to track them down, we have lost assets with team members leaving that we did not know would disappear. It can also be difficult to utilize the formulas- I have found there are may limitations to the formulas that are not intuitive to an experienced Excel user

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to track our work on thousands of samples per year and keep all the information in one place, wit

  ### 28. Essential for Streamlined Construction Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tara B. | Owner, Food & Beverages, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I love using Smartsheet for its automation features, which allow me to set intuitive rules that help report activities efficiently. This feature is particularly beneficial in my lean setup, as it pings the right stakeholders when certain conditions are met, ensuring smooth operations without an ornate software stack. The ability to track overall activity on a sheet, as well as activities per cell, is extremely valuable for maintaining oversight. Additionally, I really appreciate the ease with which I can prepare Gantt charts for waterfall project schedules. This functionality makes controlling dependencies much more straightforward, especially when compared to alternatives like Microsoft Project or Primavera. Smartsheet integrates seamlessly with tools such as Outlook, Windows, Bluebeam PDF, and Excel, which enhances its utility in my project management tasks. Finally, the availability of templates makes the initial setup moderately easy, allowing for a quick and convenient start.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I don't love the recent modernization of the Smartsheet UX. It feels like it's lost functionality, and having to relearn where everything is has been a disturbance. Although the previous interface was dated, I had become comfortable with it over time.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Smartsheet to centralize my project portfolio, track task status, and maintain project schedules, allowing me to view both the overall picture and project specifics. Automation features notify stakeholders efficiently, enhancing project management in a streamlined manner.

  ### 29. Event Management Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen R. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

The collaboration aspect of it. It provides an easy way to organize data and retrieve it for use for reports and updates.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

The cost, the absurb license requirements and the fact that it can only be shared with other licensed users. I think it does a lot of buffering connecting references and links. I spend more time waiting than I feel is necessary. Some of the features don't work well, like the Data Shuttle filters if you are trying to find items that do not include specific texts. I the the cost is expensive and there should be a bigger discount for non profits. I feel like I have never contacted customer support and they provided me real solutions. I think that it is more of a waste of time. I always figure out what to do on my own with no help. I use Smartsheet everyday and I love the app, but there are some issues that can get better.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to collect data from participants and track registrations. This is helpful because I can use it to create status reports and share with the board. I like that it can be duplicated for the next event so I don't have to make it from scratch. I like that its user friendly, even though it takes a while to connect to references.

  ### 30. A user-friendly tool with endless possibilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Molly K. | Project Manager Customer Audits, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I love using the conditional formatting and the workflows. I set workflows to remind myself and other people of work and this takes a lot of manual work off of my plate. Using SS as a way to automate reminders to project stakeholders really helps take the burden off of me as I do not have to 'bug' people so much. SS is also really pretty and simple to look at.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I wish you could hide rows. This would really help with project management. When an item is complete on a project plan, we want to be able to hide it for archive purposes.. but there is no good way to do this. I also wish you could link comments between sheets. This would help us get all of the info from source sheets to destination sheets. People who are less savvy with SS may make a comment in a source sheet as a 'safe' way to notate something..but then it cannot get transfered to a destination sheet.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use SS to request updates from stakeholders on ongoing projects. We keep them accountable by using workflows for automated reminders and custom reminders ( e.g. if update cell is blank, then send ANOTHER email reminder). We also use automation to autolock and auto-unlock rows so that we can control input during work sprints. Smartsheet gives our top leadership a good view on who is behind on which projects.

I use SS personally at work to manage my own tasks ( to do list ). I like to color code it so that certain rows stand out and can be filtered for particular projects within my work.

  ### 31. Good for the most part

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Santiago I. | Operations Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smart sheets is great for data management, it's flexible with easy user interface, and it's most useful feature to us is the usage of mobile devices for the platform. We use it daily for live performances and keep track of most things. The access to API's works great, we implement external code so that we can do the automations we want to do.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Customer support read a script, but too many of the issues we had needed to be solved by our team. It feels limited in both automations as well as interface on the back end. Small things, such as conversations needed to be removed manually if they're tied to a sheet, we can't copy cells and paste them to a different sheet, connectivity to Power Automate is not the best and is severely limited. Automations take a few minutes, and you can't prioritize automations or time them by the minute, so they require specific structuring even though it wouldn't be an issue with programs such as Excel. They update features that seem more aesthetic and there are many small details that could instead be improved which would honestly increase the apps value.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheets allows us to have mobile devices directly insert data onto the sheets which we are able to use the very same day for inventory across multiple theaters.

  ### 32. Best cloud project management tool out there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bhaven D. | Senior Technical Program Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

1. Smartsheet is super intuitive. If you have used any other project management tool in the past, adopting Smartsheet will be like a piece of cake.
2. Smartsheet has tonnes of customisation capabilities. From auto notifications to conditional formating of cells for easy identification, from filtering to setting access control, from calendar view to gantt view, you get everything with Smartsheet.
3. There are tonnes of integrations also available which makes getting updates without having to follow-up super easy and productive

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

While personally, I have not encountered anything I dislike, if I were to say for the sake of saying -
- Need to have more single-key shortcuts as against 2 keys. eg. Indent with a tab instead of "Ctrl+]"
- Pricing seems to be on the higher side. We have an open project and other tools that are available for free (community edition) or cheaper
- I would love to see OKR tracking capabilities built into smartsheet out of the box

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Full end-to-end visibility to all stakeholders who are added as viewers - Makes alining every stakeholder easy
2. Timely notifications for tasks to owners - Avoids delays
3. Easy of review with any level in the organisation by collapsing/expanding the project plans - productivity gain
4. Ability to create workspaces
5. Unlimited viewers

  ### 33. Streamlined Project Management with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sowmya S. | Functional consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I find Smartsheet instrumental for tracking project tasks because it consolidates all our tasks with their respective dates, allowing us to monitor critical deadlines effectively. The dashboard provided by Smartsheet is particularly beneficial as it highlights overdue tasks and provides a visual status of the project, indicating whether it is on track with green, red, or yellow indicators. This feature helps me in tracking the deadlines of crucial deliverables and ensuring that the project deadlines are met. Additionally, the initial setup of Smartsheet was straightforward and easy, which made the transition smooth and efficient. Coming from using traditional Excel, Smartsheet offers a more intuitive and organized platform, making project management significantly more manageable.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I find that Smartsheet could benefit from more automation. Additionally, there should be better support for multiple users to work on the same sheet simultaneously without data overlap.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Smartsheet to centralize project tasks, track deadlines, and monitor critical deliverables, which helps prevent overdue tasks and ensures timely project completion.

  ### 34. A "Make What You Need" Software with a Few Drawbacks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaitlin S. | Account Development Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet's capabilities to integrate into Onedrive and other Microsoft systems makes it ideal to utilize in most corporate environments. It has created a web of interconnectedness in a world of multiple versions of excel docs and sifting through emails. Automations and notification reminders can help account for human error in a way that was previously unchecked if you did not have access to a strong PM tool. On top of this, Smartsheet makes it easy to distinguish between what clients and internal teams can see and access. I have personally built multiple processes through the software and it has helped our department stay organized. Different views allow for anyone to utilize each sheet in a way that works for how their brain works. It is easy to learn and the user experience is great. If you have one person on your team who can identify the processes that are most confusing and spend the time to map those to Smartsheet, I believe it will help streamline your work.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

While there are several things Smartsheet does that excel can't (mostly integration, reminders, and automation), there are a few drawbacks that leave me going back to excel at several junctures. Primarily, there is a limited amount of formulas and tables that can be generated from data in smartsheet. I find myself wishing there was a pivot table function or a way to autosort information (for example only showing me the summarized top 10 items based off of a large data set on a separate sheet). I also have commented that I wish the calendar had a drag and drop feature similar to board or card view that could make manipulating dates easier on the fly. Finally, I end up creating about 2-3 helper columns in order to brute force something to work that could be a simple formula or table within excel. All in all, I think this feedback is much more focused on the detail oriented and nitty gritty details that excel nerds like me need to work magic in the background for our organizations. Simpler functions work perfectly and I would still recommend that companies adopt this software to help with broad overarching organization and process.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It creates more visibility on projects for everyone involved and allows for specific communication on those projects that tracks all minute details. It also helps us keep track of requests and whether or not they have been fulfilled yet. We have a structured way we can ask for information and a quick way to follow up on asks.

  ### 35. CRE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrzej K. | CRE, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

What I like best about Smartsheet is how it brings everything together in one place, making it easy to manage projects from start to finish without juggling multiple tools. Its real-time collaboration features let my team work together smoothly, no matter where we are. I also appreciate the flexibility to customize views and workflows to fit our specific needs. Lastly, the dashboards give me clear insights into project progress, helping me make quick, informed decisions.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

From my experience, Smartsheet can be a bit challenging to learn because of its many advanced features. I also find the mobile app limiting since it doesn’t offer all the functions available on the desktop. The need to manually save and refresh sometimes interrupts my workflow, as changes aren’t updated instantly. Lastly, I feel the pricing is on the higher side for smaller teams, and the interface isn’t always the easiest to navigate.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet is solving the problem of scattered project management by centralizing tasks, timelines, and collaboration in one platform. This helps me save time by reducing back-and-forth emails and keeping everyone aligned with up-to-date information. It also streamlines workflow automation, which cuts down on repetitive manual work. Overall, it makes managing complex projects much easier and more efficient for me and my team.

  ### 36. Project Planning staple with simple/intuitive functionality

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelly H. | Sr Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Reliable project planning tool with the functionality to create very useful team dashboards, project plans, forms, and other items. I love that it is simple functionality which is intuit and easy to pick up a first time user.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

When creating project plans, I would love to see a better visual for the gantt chart. I essentially never use the gantt chart as I can't customize it and make it visually appealing enough to place into any decks/executive presentations. Allowing better visual customization and easy drop-in to PowerPoint/Google Slides would be a huge win.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides intuitive and simple functionality that is most commonly used when creating project plans. Some specific examples: 1) Creating child tasks that auto populate the start/end dates of the parent task based on all sub activities 2) auto adjusting dates of tasks that have dependencies on other tasks. 3) Creating a gantt chart based on the tasks/activities

  ### 37. An easy to use, versatile software for project management, reporting and more

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas P. | Corporate Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet is very easy to use. I've heard comparisons with Excel, like Excel on steroids, but it's actually much more than that. When it comes to managing data and reporting it, Smartsheet is super efficient, it takes just a few minutes to setup very powerful solutions, using the simple combo of Sheets, Reports and Dashboards.
It can also go way further, using the multiple add-ons which take Smartsheet to the next level.
I would highly recommend Smartsheet as a work organisation and project management tool that's flexible, quick to implement with no technical knowledge, and very powerful.
Integration is excel thanks to the add-ons available.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet, like and software, does require some change management, to make sure users understand the full potential and use it. You don't get much assistance with this from Smartsheet teams and it can take a long time to get simple features added.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet is very central to our organisation, used for all project and task management. It allows very easy reporting to the highest levels of the business. It is very easy to setup, helping provide important structure to all teams. With Smartsheet all stakeholders can keep track of everything going on, and get a better overall view of what is happening, providign valuable insights to take better decisions.

  ### 38. Smartsheet: Easy Team Collaboration and Automation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Safwan K. | Sr. Logistics Analyst - EMEA

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I find Smartsheet incredibly useful for team collaborations, as it allows for seamless organization of projects and improves visibility into team schedules. The product effectively serves as a robust database where information can be regularly updated by anyone on the team. Its ease of use stands out, especially when setting it up, as the introductory video made learning the features straightforward. Smartsheet has significantly streamlined our data collection processes, automating what used to be a laborious manual task. It is particularly beneficial in providing live updates on tasks like team holiday schedules, saving us considerable time. The flexibility in modifying data in real time is another major advantage, facilitated by powerful forms that streamline data gathering. I appreciate the calendar view feature for its utility in tracking project deadlines, and the ability to create dashboards provides a clear visualization of our data. Moreover, the AI features that automate formulas and the inclusion of effective formatting tools enhance its functionality, making it a comprehensive tool that I would definitely purchase again.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I sometimes encounter limitations with Smartsheet, particularly involving alerts and sending a single email to different groups. This is a functionality I find lacking, and it restricts my ability to effectively communicate updates and information to multiple group segments through email, which is an essential feature for my workflow.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Smartsheet automates data collection, which saves significant time and provides live updates. It offers easy data changes, facilitates team collaboration, and provides visibility through dashboards, making it an valuable tool for managing projects and schedules.

  ### 39. One place to stay all updated

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debora T. | UX Designer and Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

It is simple to use because it is structured like an Excel table, but clever because it allows files and comments/discussions to be attached to each row of the table.

I use it to keep track of projects, with colleagues and with the client: you no longer have to search through endless emails received, risking not being copied, but just search through the project rows.

Notifications can be customised in a simple and agile way, adapting to all needs.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Some people find it hard to accept that they no longer send e-mails, but always comment within smartsheet.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. keep all tasks of a project and a customer clearly listed. Monitor progress, status and deadlines.

2. keep all discussions and comments in one place, as well as all proposed variants with a file history. This makes it easy to reconstruct the evolution of the different tasks, and the decisions made in the comments.

  ### 40. Smartsheet: Easy solution for team collaboration and project management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sneha M. | Deputy Manager - Service Business Analytics, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

1. Smartsheet is very flexible in collaborating with team and automating the tasks
2. It provides most of Excel like features but with an added advantage of notification to users to remind them on their activities
3. Smartsheet database can be integrated with data analytics software like PowerBi which is very helpful in my organization for dashboard creation and data visualizations.
4. Smartsheet features like datamesh and datashuttle are pretty helpful.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

1. Smartsheet need to add certain features like cell lock.
2. For forms, field display should be done on basis on values selected from one field, e.g. for value zone 1 from field 1, field 2 and field 3 should be displayed, and for value zone 2 from field 1, field 3 and 4 should be displayed

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Digitization of Manual Processes
2. Data Analysis and Insights
3. Project and Portfolio Management

  ### 41. Simple UI Makes Tracking Hours Easy, Some Improvements Needed

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karan V.

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I appreciate Smartsheet for its ease of use and simple user interface, which makes it straightforward to log my billable hours for client projects and internal tasks. It helps me calculate exact billable hours efficiently, ensuring accurate billing to clients. Additionally, I value the multi-level approval process feature within Smartsheet, which adds a layer of flexibility and customization to my workflow.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I find that Smartsheet should improve on distinguishing between billable and non-billable hours. Currently, all activities are not clearly separated, which could streamline my billing processes if they appeared distinctly. Additionally, the initial setup of Smartsheet presented a bit of a learning curve, which made it slightly challenging to get started smoothly.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Smartsheet to calculate exact billable hours for clients, benefiting from its ease of use and simple UI. However, I wish it could display billable and non-billable hours separately.

  ### 42. Great Potential, But Room For Improvement

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chelsea W. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet is relatively easy to use once you get the hang of it. The forms are straightforward to build, making it simple to collect and organize information.

With better implementation support, improved collaboration features, and more intuitive dashboard/tools, it could be a leader in the space.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

While Smartsheet has strong core functionality, several aspects make it frustrating for broad use.

Licensing & Collaboration Limitations – The licensing model works if only PMs are creating/managing content, but it’s poor for collaboration. Team members need paid licenses to do anything beyond adding comments, which hinders engagement.

Poor Onboarding & Communication from Sales – When we purchased, our rep never mentioned features like Control Center. We built a workaround that now makes it hard to implement Control Center without major disruption. It’s frustrating to learn about key features only after committing to a different structure.

Community & Support Gaps – The community forum is disorganized, with outdated content, repetitive questions, and minimal Smartsheet staff responses. Support for urgent issues is slow, and there was a lack of best practices guidance during implementation.

Interface & Usability Frustrations –

Dashboards are time-consuming to make visually appealing, with no alignment or measurement tools, and resizing charts requires changes in reports instead of in the dashboard.

Limited dashboard visuals and color customization—no ability to add custom hex codes for branding.

Sheet roll-ups and indents aren’t clearly broken out.

Task descriptions require extra columns, which clutter the sheet and make it visually busy.

Predecessors automatically affect dates; there’s no option to show them for information only.

Cannot share access at the folder level—permissions must be managed sheet by sheet.

Technical & Automation Constraints –

#REF errors don’t explain the problem.

Automations and reporting require excessive hidden columns just to function.

Limited automation rules and flexibility.

Overall Design Philosophy –
Smartsheet feels like a glorified Excel with rigid structures. The interface could be more intuitive, letting users click into tasks for details or linking to templates without cluttering the sheet with unused columns. It’s not well-suited for organizations that need a more flexible project management approach.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralizing Project Tracking – Gives our PMs a single workspace to manage timelines, tasks, and deliverables instead of juggling multiple spreadsheets or tools.

Form-Based Data Collection – Easy-to-build forms streamline the intake of project requests, updates, and other structured information from across the organization.

Visibility for Project Leads – Allows PMs to track progress, monitor status changes, and compile reports without waiting on manual updates from multiple stakeholders.

Standardization of Processes – Templates and consistent sheet structures help keep our projects aligned to the same framework, which is helpful for reporting and portfolio management.

Audit Trail & Documentation – Built-in history and comment tracking make it easier to document changes and decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Cross-Project Reporting – Roll-up reports and dashboards provide leadership with high-level visibility into progress and risks across initiatives.

  ### 43. Flexibility and Visibility Boost with Smartsheet

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben F.

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I have been using Smartsheet for approximately twelve months, primarily for product, project, and portfolio management. What stands out most about Smartsheet is its flexibility and ease of use, which was a pivotal factor in its selection over other vendors. The product allows me to quickly and easily build reports and dashboards from data, which is incredibly useful. Furthermore, the ability to connect through automations and blueprinting to establish a system without needing any coding knowledge is invaluable. I also find the engagement from the Smartsheet team, including the sales team and customer success team, particularly commendable. Scott Enver, who worked with us to develop our solution, provided excellent support. Their involvement in the consultancy process was brilliant, and the end product that we created together is fantastic. The solutions developed in Smartsheet have allowed us to systemize our project and portfolio management, providing us with full visibility on where our portfolio programs are at—a significant improvement from our previous capabilities. This systemization brought a step change in our capability, garnering positive feedback from our leadership team, particularly regarding the dashboard experience and its future potential.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I find the use of the control center in Smartsheet to be somewhat rigid. It lacks flexibility, especially when it comes to making global changes across templates in our projects. Although some capability exists, I feel that it could be enhanced significantly to allow for easier and more widespread modifications. This would improve the overall experience, as Smartsheet offers a lot of flexibility on an individual basis, but not as much when attempting to apply changes globally throughout a designed solution.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet has provided our team with systemized project and portfolio management, enhancing our capability with full visibility on portfolio progress. This has led to positive feedback from leadership and improved dashboard experiences.

  ### 44. Overpriced and Lacking Real Innovation

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Facilities Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

It's an ok productivity tool and project planner

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

The pricing structure really doesn't justify the cost, in my opinion. There has been very little genuine development over the past eight years. Additionally, there seems to be little interest in the premium apps, likely because they are overpriced and somewhat misleading. For example, the so-called API Data Shuttle isn't actually an API—it simply allows you to download and then upload data, so it doesn't provide a real-time or live API connection.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool provided a fast and straightforward way to track and share information. However, its dashboarding capabilities are quite limited, and I often found myself needing to use PBi dashboards to supplement the rather makeshift ones available here. Unfortunately, recent changes to the pricing structure have made us reconsider its value, and we will probably look for alternatives.

  ### 45. Versatile with Room for Improved Integration

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin M.

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I appreciate Smartsheet's capability to handle multiple work streams and its ability to be shared easily across teams that are not all part of the same organization. I also find the consulting hours included in the package incredibly beneficial, as they helped streamline our dashboard and optimize how we set up the roll-up of information. Moreover, I value the feature that allows building out dependencies within the worksheet, enabling us to see the ripple effect when things are pushed back. Additionally, the ability to tag milestones and risks and have them roll up clearly into a dashboard is particularly useful. Overall, Smartsheet provides an essential overview for the work we do, which I find very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I find that the integration between Smartsheet and Google Suite is not smooth, making Smartsheet feel like a standalone tool for our projects, rather than being incorporated into our everyday tools. This lack of integration means it's not consistently used for all tasks by everyone involved. Additionally, there is a notable upfront time investment required, which can be a hurdle initially. Another aspect I wish were different is the absence of voice features that could facilitate task management on the go, turning voice inputs into task lists.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet provides an essential overview and helps manage multistakeholder projects by handling multiple work streams and enabling easy information roll-up for clear dashboards.

  ### 46. Great Templates and Dashboards, but Limited Data Analysis in Smartsheet

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

The most useful aspect of Smartsheet is its wide range of templates that can be used for different purposes. From project monitoring and to data tracking and reporting. These templates make it easy to set up structured workflows without starting from scratch. I also find the featured dashboards extremely valuable, as they allow you to create clear, interactive, and visually appealing dashboards that help track progress and present key information effectively. I would add as well its features about automation and collaboration which allows multiple teams to update data in real time

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

While Smartsheet is very useful for organizing and tracking projects, its data analysis and organization capabilities are quite limited. The platform lacks advanced features such as proper pivot tables or more flexible data categorization options. Even compared to basic Excel functions. It can also be difficult to organize and structure large sets of data efficiently within sheets. Additionally, while the form feature is easy to use, it offers very few customization options and limited interaction with users. The forms could be more dynamic and flexible to collect richer and more engaging inputs.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Although Smartsheet was already in use when I joined the organization, I’ve seen how it helps manage multiple projects and keep everything organized in one place. It makes it easier to track activities, monitor progress, and consolidate data from different teams without relying on multiple spreadsheets or emails. The dashboards and templates also help visualize results and support better reporting, which is very useful for project performance and monitoring work.

  ### 47. Great Document Sharing and Branding, but Needs More Grid Features and Better Pricing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel O. | Senior Director of Program Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Shareability of documents and tools -- both internally and externally. I use mostly grids and forms, and both work very well. I also appreciate being able to add our own branding, which looks simple but nice (not too over-the-top like many tools out there).

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I wish Grids had a few more options for formatting a la Microsoft Excel. I also wish that it was more affordable, so that my work wouldn't be moving other users off the platform (and making it less usable for me). It would be nice if training tools' locations were more obvious within the tool itself -- I'd probably be more likely to learn more about how to use its extensive features. I also wish attending its user conference was free -- it seems odd to pay to attend a vendor's event about how to use their tool (which would ultimately lead to them probably making more money off of us).

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use a custom-built form to solicit required information from our external contributors. We also use Smartsheet to share information internally (e.g., lists of volunteers and their information). It benefits us because I like the searchability of Smartsheet -- if I've done something in Smartsheet, I know the search will help me turn it up. I CANNOT say the same about Microsoft tools / SharePoint, where files are often lost in the abyss.

  ### 48. Efficient and Effective tool for Project Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saran P. | Lead, HRIS Analyst, Commercial Real Estate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet allows the users to create and integrate different workflows seamlessly. Unlike many other forms/ similar tools available, smartsheets helps to automate workflows for project management and create multiple layers or approvals that helps to work efficiently and track the status of the work accurately. It is a simple solution that offers multiple use cases. People with out having to work to complex tools or workflows can simply use smarsheets.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I think Smartsheet is helpful in a lot of ways, but there are a few things I don't like about it. It can feel slow and clunky, especially when you're working with a lot of sheets or with other people. I also think that the formula options are pretty limited compared to Excel, which makes it harder to do more complicated math. The dashboards and charts are pretty basic, and I wish they were more interesting to look at. It can be hard to figure out who can see or change certain parts when you're in charge of permissions. And to be honest, the cost becomes a problem when more people on the team need full access; it adds up quickly.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheets helps to track various project at different stakeholder levels by being able to integrate or create multiple workflows at different levels.

  ### 49. Great experience!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gilmar R. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

What I value most about Smartsheet is how it turns operational management into something agile, collaborative, and visually clear. As someone who coordinates between technical and executive teams, I need tools that not only organize tasks but also communicate progress, anticipate risks, and support decision making.

• Flexible yet structured: It lets me work with spreadsheet logic, but adds project-level features like dependencies, alerts, and dynamic dashboards that adapt to any workflow.

• Time-saving automation: I can set up approvals, reminders, and updates without relying on IT, freeing me to focus on strategic priorities.

• Dashboards that speak for themselves: Smartsheet’s dashboards are ideal for summarizing progress, showing KPIs, and aligning stakeholders without overwhelming them.

• Frictionless collaboration: I can share sheets with clients or teams, comment directly on rows, and keep all context in one place.

In short, Smartsheet isn’t just a management tool. It’s a strategic that connects processes to outcomes and people to purpose.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

While Smartsheet is a powerful and versatile tool, it presents certain limitations that may impact its adoption or performance depending on the team, budget, or operational maturity.

Key Limitations of Semartsheet:

- Per-user pricing model: Costs can escalate quickly for large teams, as each user requires a license. Unlike platforms with flat-rate or project-based pricing, this model may not be viable for small organizations or those with tight budgets.

- Limited native reporting capabilities:Although dashboards are visually effective, built-in reports lack advanced analytics. For deeper insights, users often need to integrate external tools like Power BI or Tableau.

- Spreadsheet-style interface not ideal for all profiles: Its Excel-like design may benefit technical users, but it introduces a steep learning curve for those unfamiliar with spreadsheet environments.

- Full dependency on internet connectivity: As a cloud-based solution, Smartsheet requires a stable connection. Offline access is limited, which can hinder work in low-coverage areas or field environments.

- Missing advanced project management features: Compared to tools like Microsoft Project, Smartsheet lacks functionalities such as resource leveling, agile boards, integrated time tracking, and automated variance reports between planned and actual progress.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Disjointed Communication Across Teams: Smartsheet brings everyone—technical, operational, and executive—onto a shared platform. You can tag stakeholders, attach documents, and track conversations directly within rows, eliminating email chains and version confusion.
 - Manual Tracking of Tasks and Support Hours: Instead of updating spreadsheets manually, Smartsheet automates task assignments, reminders, and progress tracking. You can set up workflows that notify approvers, log support hours, and escalate delays without lifting a finger.
- Inconsistent Process Execution: With templates and conditional logic, Smartsheet standardizes how processes run—whether it’s onboarding, PRD coordination, or client communications. This reduces errors and ensures repeatability.

  ### 50. Seamless Setup, Limited Calculations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard B.

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I value Smartsheet's ease of setup, making it simple to integrate into our operations without any hassle. I appreciate how it enhances communication across our organization, providing real-time updates that keep everyone informed. I find the ability to create and share dashboards particularly beneficial, both internally and externally, which assists in broadening our collaboration. The platform's search functionality is impressively useful, and its capacity to integrate information directly onto our website is a massive benefit.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I dislike Smartsheet's limited ability to perform calculations. It's something we encountered early on, where we expected Smartsheet to handle certain calculations that it simply couldn't execute at the time. The insufficiency in this area persists, as I still find the allowance for it to perform more advanced calculations lacking.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet solves communication problems by enabling real-time visibility across the organization, improving overall efficiency. It benefits us by allowing easy dashboard creation and sharing, as well as embedding content on our website.
