The tool is very useful and direct for newcomers. All the functions have clear guidance videos and examples. The data and the filter are displayed in a very clear and straightforward way. The fee is certainly quite high compared to other research tools and the data is not comprehensive as it is based only on the data from the amazon website, not from API (Amazon has stopped selling data to third party since 2020). Quite an easy tool for new amazon sellers to find a not-so-competitive brand as well as to research a niche/ a brand. What do you like best about SmartScout?

I've been selling/servicing Amazon for almost 10 years and this is the best tool I've come across for compiling all this information in an easy UI. We were actively looking at a 'category estimator' tool for Amazon that wanted upfront payment for a year's commitment when we found SmartScout. It saved us a big commitment to a tool that didn't do that much more and was much more complex to work with. The ability to break out "Brands", "Sellers", "Products" across multiple Amazon selling regions is amazing. It's very easy to use and understand, but I find new ideas and ways to use it all the time. My favorite ways to use it are doing discovery for new client prospects, comparing brands within the categories (or subcategories), and pulling hard to get information off of Amazon (like Sells on a particular brand). It's laid out like a giant data table of information, so anyone who can filter and sort in Excel should be able to understand it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SmartScout?

I'd love to understand more of the learning and logic behind some of the sales estimates and 'scores', which is a common theme with all estimator tools. We benchmark the sales from Smartscout against the accounts we have access to for a general range of accuracy and never treat the numbers as absolute 'truth'. That being said, I've found it to be as accurate as the most expensive tools on the market for estimating sales, plus it gives more information than most tools in a clean format. If you're looking for an Amazon category tool for biz dev, internal analysis, or general research this should be on your shortlist of tools to consider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SmartScout solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our main problem with similar tools is that they're not flexible enough, or they're confusing to use. SmartScout is a great balance of being easy to understand but also has a ton of useful information. The simple fact of being able to filter, sort, and export data into Excel is a huge time saver. We can now take 5 competitor brands and gain insight for a client within minutes. Some other tools can do this, but not for the low cost of SmartScout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SmartScout?

We use Smartcout in many ways. The most profitable has been to search for prospects for our agency business. We then use it for product research for our clients and for our own Amazon brands. The traffic graph is excellent to help find products to target with advertising that are sending traffic to our competitor's listings. What do you like best about SmartScout?

I like the fact that you are able to search the site and not only see where other sellers are but what they are selling as well. SmartScout has a lot of more information than the other sites I've seen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is a learning curve to the site. It can be a lot of information all at once. I think the landing page could be a lot simpler. A simple dashboard would make a lot more sense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
