I have used SmartRecruiters to apply on genuine jobs posts. I can track how far i have made throughout the complete hiring pipeline . I can see the interview schedules, ratings, conversations happened between applicant and recruiter . It allows job seeker to send message directly to recruiters. I dislike that the person being interviewed isn't being given a consolidated score basis the multiple feedbacks they receive within the system. I had referred one of my colleague and the seamlessness in tracking the application status and the User Interface is really great. There is no need to ask the recruiter for the status of the application. The jobs shown also gives us an international exposure. If its is an internal refer the Bold Caption of I am Interested is also fascinating. Benefits are the application status and suggested job code related to the applied one. We have been doing recruitment processing manually for a long time, and I know the pain behind it. Having a specialized tool that you can configure to match your recruitment processes is awesome. That said, the best feature I like in the tool is the fact that all major steps from creating the vacancy, getting approval from the leadership to actual hiring. Most of the time we have multiple recruitments on going for different and similar job opportunities. If I as the "Hiring Manager" come across a good candidate during the interview steps for the vacancy I'm hiring for, but realize he does not fit mine, but at the same time would like to recommend him to another hiring manager in a different recruitment, I hit a block in SmartRecruiters. It connects you to a pool of candidates easily, has all the needed functions for the full recruitment process, and the preset templates are so helpful to make your job quicker and make sure that you share a reply for every candidate. Love the fact that it links directly to your email! The notes section is really helpful especially that you are able to right notes for yourself, while reviewing applications you tend to forget what makes the candidate special. The fact that when you do setup a meeting, you don't have control to add a Video link invite. I would love to have more flexibility once it reaches to that phase as I find the interviewing support not necessary or needed. One tiny problem with the preset templated for emails is that the 'company name' field will show as Smartrecruiters vs. the name of the our agency which makes the letter confusing, I had to manually type it every time. I wish you could see the full candidate list when you reviewing a candidate profile so you can easily browse and switch between different candidates. No api support in the free version. No admin view where I can see all the interviews scheduled company wide. Also even if I tagged one or two colleagues in the comment, I still want to make it visible to admins. This is not possible. Overall activity view is missing, like colleague A marked x candidate shortlisted, colleague B scheduled interview for y candidate. It was developed for candidates coming from the SmartRecruiters default career page or from an ad advertised through SR When I upload a CV manually, sometimes it does weird things with the statuses. I, honestly, can't really think of a whole lot I like about SmartRecruiters. It seems that the recruitment marketing aspect of the platform is pretty neat, but that is only if you actually use that function. I guess (?) the customizability of the platform, but I think that is what ultimately leads to this platform's downfall — trying to do a lot of things well which is not executed super great. There are too many downfalls to this platform to list: Is it that every time I review a resume in a .doc or .docx filetype it downloads to my computer or when a review a pdf it opens in another tab as opposed to just being embedded in the platform? Is it the terrible inbox feature that makes it so difficult to actually respond to candidates from my email? There are just too many downfalls to choose from, and the thing is, each one kills recruiter productivity in its own way.
Our team has only been on the platform for 4-5 months, and I highly doubt we will be sticking with the platform after our initial year contract. I tried to give it a chance and thought it — initially — was just the change in system. If I had the choice, I'd end the contract now to go to one of the more recognized leaders in the space. I really like the Smart Recruiter platform integrations with Outlook, LinkedIn Recruiter, Scheduling, ratings, etc. This allows everyone to see all of your notes, emails, ratings, interview schedules (assuming they have permission for those accesses). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the layout is confusing compared to others still fairly easy to use. Sometimes the single sign on for a new manager doesn't flow but may be a challenge on our companies end, rather than SR. Our company is still playing with all of the features like building the filters for who can see what as far as interview scores, reviews, etc, but if we used the full functionality or customized it more, that may be better. I like how its easy to access and I have always had luck getting a job through it as well. Plus points as we can constantly track the application process as well as have all the emails at a single place. The GUI is not very nice. It can be developed to be more user friendly. It can be more easier by incorporating a easy sharable button for jobs and also prompt to save details for future use.
