"Intuitive, fast, and user-friendly localization platform"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Smartling?

As a translator, I really appreciate how Smartling is designed with usability in mind. The interface is clean, fast, and intuitive — it's easy to navigate between strings, use the translation memory, and check context through visual previews. The built-in QA checks are helpful for catching errors early, and I like how the platform supports both machine and human translation in a seamless way. Terminology management and real-time collaboration features make the workflow much more efficient. Overall, Smartling helps me focus on the quality of my work without getting lost in technicalities. What do you dislike about Smartling?

Some advanced features — like context integration or visual mode — may require a bit of time to fully understand or are sometimes inconsistent across projects. Also, the platform occasionally feels a bit heavy when working with very large projects or slow connections, but it's generally stable and reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Firsthand witness to translation process transformed over 8 years as an EN-ES translator"
4/5
What do you like best about Smartling?

Having their own development team means that they are always there to help if some feature is not working as expected and they are open to suggestions to make the translation workflow smoother.

I've been translating with them for 8 years now and I use the platform on daily basis. It's pretty straightforward and, since it's web-based, no instalation is necessary.

Even though you cannot translate from a smartphone, I'm still able to do the rest of the actios, such as check the list of current jobs, accept the jobs available, see an estimate of the words to translate... Basically, everything except translating or reviewing per se. This means, for example, that I can receive a request email and check all the details to see if I can accept it knowing that I will be able to deliver it on time, all on the go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartling?

Being web-based, sometimes the segments in progress don't get saved properly if I change from one computer to another. I get a warning message, but I'm not sure what are the actual consequences to the translation still in progress.

Also, really big jobs (over 2000 segments) are still problematic. It gets slow, the filter of the translation pannel doesn't work and the QA check gets glitchy, too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Integration and Automation Elevate Our Workflow"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Smartling?

The primary advantage of this tool is its seamless integration with our technology infrastructure, including our CMS and repositories. This allows for fully automated content ingestion and delivery, which removes the need for manual processes and reduces inefficiencies. Additionally, the centralized management of translation memory guarantees strong terminological consistency. The advanced visual context features further support global brand accuracy and ensure consistent messaging across markets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartling?

At times, the customization options and the level of detail available in some dashboards and metrics reports—such as those tracking progress and quality—could be more intuitive and thorough. This would allow for a more detailed analysis of ROI and supplier efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable collaboration with timely payments, steady workflow, and constructive reviews."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Smartling?

Smartling offers a very user-friendly platform with straightforward implementation and useful features that support my daily work. I use it frequently and find the workflow efficient, with reliable integration and consistent support. Payments are always timely, and the revision process—though sometimes critical—adds real value by enhancing quality and skills. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartling?

The main challenge I face is that most projects are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, which requires constant monitoring of the platform and sometimes long hours at my desk. While I understand this approach ensures fairness and equal opportunities for all vendors, I believe there could be a more balanced way to distribute workflow. "Easy-to-Use Platform That Saves Hours on CRM Translations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Smartling?

The platform is easy to use, and it saves me hours every week. It’s one of the best tools for powering through translations for our CRM tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartling?

The platform can feel slow at times, and although the interface looks modern, navigation can be difficult. For larger projects, the translation editor also feels limited, with not enough customization options to work efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A practical and reliable platform for translation tasks"
5/5
What do you like best about Smartling?

What sets this platform apart is how it has transformed anonymous translators into recognized contributors with a clear identity. Beyond that, it is equipped with a rich array of technical features designed to streamline and elevate the translation process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartling?

There’s nothing significant enough to dislike about this platform, but improvements can be made. For instance, translators should be able to view reviewer changes even after submitting a job.

Additionally, notifications should be sent immediately when a job is posted, as they are sometimes delayed by several hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best translation tool on the market"
5/5
What do you like best about Smartling?

I’ve been working with Smartling for almost ten years, and it’s by far the easiest and most intuitive platform I’ve used. The interface is clean and attractive, with all the features translators need to get their work done efficiently. What I appreciate most is how their team is always innovating and rolling out new technology, making sure linguists have access to the latest tools to simplify our job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartling?

The Quality Checks feature could be improved by adding an option to select and ignore multiple issues at once. This would make it easier for translators to dismiss false positives of the same type instead of having to go through them one by one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
