"EveryDollar and SmartTax: Great Tools for Financial Help"

What do you like best about SmartDollar?

EveryDollar budgeting and SmartTax. This gives people a great tool, and a "free" service to help them financially. The product support I have received has been good. Though we are just getting started the program has been easy to implement thus far with our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SmartDollar?

As being one of the Admin's for SmartDollar for our company, I have had several people have issues with logging in, and it does not see intuitive to them how to get it remedied so they can access SmartDollar. Thank you for flagging this! Employees can use the 'Forgot Password' link on the login page, or your relationship manager can resend invitation emails directly from the admin dashboard. If a few employees are consistently running into trouble, reach out to smartdollar.help@ramseysolutions.com and we can work through it with you. We don't want anything getting in the way of your team accessing the program.

What do you like best about SmartDollar?

The ease of access and use is something that's very helpful when trying something new that you may not understand. The knowledge you receive is tremendous, and the videos are easy to understand and gain insight on. I especially like that I can type in specific financial insight I'm looking for, like "Saving for College," and videos will pop up for me to listen to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SmartDollar solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using Smart Dollar for our employees and ourselves. We found that many of them were struggling with making sound financial decisions at home. They were creating unnecessary stress in their lives because they were living beyond their means. They are making good money but spending without an understanding of what they had available to spend. Those poor decisions were resulting in distractions at work, anxiety around money, and a general sense of fear of the future when it came to being in debt. We believe that if we can grow our team personally and professionally we will have made an impact for them and their families for the rest of their lives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Practical, Personalized Financial Education at Your Fingertips"

What do you like best about SmartDollar?

I loved that it is education at your fingertips. It is providing practical and insightful information to our employees and I do not have to meet with them one on one. They can tailor it to focus on their personalized needs whether that is savings, taxes, or budgeting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SmartDollar?

The platform is a bit difficult to navigate and isn't super mobile friendly. I have had to "hand hold" some employees to help them learn how to navigate it themselves rather than just logging in and it being simplistic and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SmartDollar solving and how is that benefiting you?

Since offering SmartDollar to our employees, it has drastically reduced the number of "Pay day loan" requests from our employees. Our managers have been asked alot less if they can loan out $20 to get them by until pay day because our employees are learning budgeting and financial management. We do hear from time to time that some employees need more of a guided introduction to the platform, and we’re always looking to improve the ease of which folks of all tech skill levels can navigate SmartDollar. For a right-now solution, SmartDollar offers a quick-start guide and onboarding resources specifically made for employees that can make that first login much smoother. Ask your relationship manager to share the employee launch toolkit. We’ve seen it reduce the handholding significantly.

SmartDollar is helping solve my problem by giving me a clearer, more organized view of my finances. Instead of guessing where my money goes each month, the tool automatically tracks my income and expenses, groups them into categories, and highlights where I might be overspending. Many people are in near constant financial stress. Employees need income from work and jobs where they can grow/contribute. Best outcome is support for team growth beyond paycheck that can benefit both employer and employee - improvement for financial life of employee and feeling like they are making progress toward financial goals, and employer gets an employee with better ability to focus and hopefully lead to engagement. Our rep Gus! He is impossible to get a hold of! I have tried many many times to get ahold of him through email, phone, and the form on the smart center page. Absolutely no replies... What do you like best about SmartDollar?

Hi Rick, thank you for this suggestion! You're right that direct in-platform messaging isn't currently available in SmartDollar the same way it is in FPU. We’ll pass this feature idea along to our product team. It’s a good one! In the meantime, your relationship manager can provide employer communication templates, email campaigns and digital assets you can send to employees directly. Many employers find a monthly or quarterly financial wellness reminder goes a long way.

I am new so I may be misunderstanding but - the only feature I don't truly understand in the "Budgets" feature, why does it reset monthly? I want to make a consistent budget that I don't have to start from scratch over every month (again I am new so maybe I am not there yet but I just want it to save my progress as I move forward. Hi Regan, great question! EveryDollar uses zero-based budgeting, which means you give every dollar a job at the start of each month. The good news: Your budget categories and planned amounts carry over automatically each month, only the transactions reset so you're working with a clean slate. You should only need to adjust amounts when something changes. "Easy-to-Follow Trainings and a Helpful Resource at Every Stage"

What do you like best about SmartDollar?

I love the trainings, the steps it gives you that are easy to follow, and that it can be a resource for people in various stages of their journey. I also LOVe the customer support. What do you dislike about SmartDollar?

EveryDollar works well for tracking expenses, but I’ve found savings buckets harder to manage. It takes time to set up and understand, while YNAB feels more intuitive for savings goals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
