This is a must-have component for any modern data center or general business operation. Lack of professional software to effectively perform advanced power monitoring (such as real-time energy consumption). Lack of more advanced UPS functions with build in software. Smart UPS protects us during short power interruptions where enough power is needed during those few seconds when generators kick in. The internal components are solid. The power conditioning has always been dependable. Over the long run, battery replacements are very cost effective. We've typically gone about 10 years per UPS, with battery swaps every few years, and never had any issues. They would probably run even longer, but we haven't been brave enough to try. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Smart UPS? Over time batteries will eventually fail, and balloon. The chassis has a limited amount of space for removing these batteries, so it's sometimes a fight to get the ballooned batteries out of the chassis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Smart UPS: We have occasionally tested other products in a similar price range to Smart UPS, and we've never found the level of reliability. For the price, they seem to be the best one out there. The SmartConnect functionality they now offer is great too. Often times we found it cost prohibitive to purchase the management cards. This basic level of alerting is perfect for smaller implementations where you want to know about battery lites without needing to visit the datacenter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Our critical sites all have generators, but need UPS backups to bridge the gap between when the power goes out, and when the generator transfer kicks in.
