## About Lumio
Lumio is a web-based instructional platform that offers more ways to effortlessly make learning fun and engaging on student devices. Teachers can start from scratch, or import existing content like PDFs, Google Slides, PowerPoints, and Canva designs and transform them into dynamic, engaging learning experiences on any device. Within Lumio, they can mix and match file types and add interactive elements like games, collaborative whiteboards, handouts, and assessments, all from a single place. Teachers can even share content with colleagues through shared libraries and co-edit lessons in real-time to leverage one another’s classroom experiences. Tools like instructional audio, activity dashboards, and the ability to offer real-time feedback make Lumio a one-stop tool for teachers. It allows them to personalize learning, enable student creation, and gain insight into learning while providing engaging, active lessons. Lumio inspires and supports curriculum with EdTech partners teachers already know and trust, like Desmos, PhET, Epic!, Tynker, and more. All while integrating with common LMS platforms Canvas and Schoology. Not only does Lumio offer more ways to engage students, it’s also specifically designed to improve outcomes – it’s not just fun, it works! Lumio is developed and updated based on an extensive logic model, ensuring that product improvements lead to desired learning outcomes. With the Research-Based Design Certification from Digital Promise, educators and administrators can feel confident in the benefits of using Lumio. With three available plan options (Free, Standard, and Spark), there’s a Lumio plan, and price, that’s right for everyone. Note: Lumio was formerly known as SMART Learning Suite Online (SLSO)

## Lumio Reviews
  ### 1. Lumio for Elementary, a must!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Janelle A. | Instructional Technology, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

Lumio's templates for building interactive content make it extremely easy for educators to create engaging content for students, especially at the elementary level. Our teachers love that they can also import lessons they already have made from PowerPoint and Google Slides, then add their interactive components on for whole group or individual student interaction.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

I think that, as with many things, it can be very frustrating for teachers to see some of the tiered components cost extra. While it's completely understandable that the company needs to make money to continue to improve, as educators, it's generally outside the teacher's control for what funds are spent and where based on school/district budgets, which then can either lead them to personally paying fees for subscriptions, or in some cases, being restricted from using them where they are not allowed to pay for items personally (as in my previous district).

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time spent creating lesson activities is lessened, while student engagement increases. Increased student engagement with content helps deepen learning for students.

  ### 2. Lumio has almost everything you need to engage your students in learning!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah A. | Instructional Technology Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

The best thing that I like about Lumio is that it is very intuitive for both the teacher and student. It is easy for teachers that have little to no background knowledge of using edtech to use it and it has many options for teachers that frequently use technology. Lumio has made it very easy for students to access from K-12+ Implementing technology is easy when using Lumio for a simple review game or an entire lesson.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

I do not like that it does not integrate with the Canvas grade passback yet which many schools utilize daily. Although I have heard that they are working on putting this on their roadmap of options that are coming.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our schools are not purchasing as much paper and asking teachers to utilize online learning to balance the worksheet load. Lumio has helped in providing engaging online learning activities from one platform for both the teacher to use when teaching and for the student to use in both synchronous and asynchronous lesson activities.

  ### 3. Lumio has revolutionised my classroom

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy P. | Class Teacher/Tech for Learning Digital Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

Lumio is an incredibly powerful tool in the classroom. It is easy to use and navigate the site, which enables educators to use it well from their first use. The different interactive features have truly made teaching a more engaging experience for all my learners. I really enjoy being able to see my pupil's work in real time and have found my pupils have picked up how to use it very quickly. We now use Lumio every day!

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

It can be difficult to find pupil work once they have completed tasks.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to add additional scaffolding to lessons to support all pupils.

  ### 4. Lumio for Engagement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ZORETTA H. | Literacy Instructional Lead Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

I like that you can create engaging lessons and activities for students to support the curriculum and reinforce skills. It also provides data on student responses and performance which teachers can used to make informed decisions about the instruction in their classrooms.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

The only thing I wish is that it would pair with LTIs and the data could transfer (i.e. importing grades).

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio helps to make the lessons from the HQIM more interesting to students. It also gives them the opportunity to work in groups and support each other's learning in the classroom.

  ### 5. Endless fun and learning

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roz B. | Education Support, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

There is so much to access via the Lumia board alone, from interactive games, whiteboards, lessons and other activities, to easy external application when connecting external devices such as laptops.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

Some boards can become extremely glitchy, especially in the morning and laggy to use, but once it’s started it’s great, this is one of the older versions 2023 not the latest 2024 board

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All in one whiteboard, easy to use, plenty to learn

  ### 6. Hands Down Favorite

**Reviewed by:** Ashley M. | Teacher, Campus Tech Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

Lumio is my - hands down - favorite way to spark student engagement, create interactive lessons, and create safe, low-stakes opportunities for all of my students to share despite their learning differences.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

I am hoping that Lumio embeds more question types into the game based question activities (multi-select, hot spot, etc.).

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Student engagement has rapidly increased when using Lumio lessons in my classroom.

  ### 7. Lumio is a game changers for the classroom!

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

I think it could use more in the library yet that comes with time.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

at first I loved the game yet then I found the constant clicking would be a nusance.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

My favorite thing about Lumio is that my students are able to have the presentation directly in front of them. They can zoom in on the part they want to focus on, interact with the lesson, and receive immediate feedback on their thoughts instead of waiting until the end. I also love that all students can participate and are given a voice.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

Lumio runs slow on our network at times, but the good far out weighs the bad.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio is allowing me to provide students with immediate feedback into their thinking. This lets me guide students in the correct direction when creating connections to the math.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

It would benefit with AI-integration to get full potential of the product.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio helps me include all my students in the classroom and they can in real-time follow me when I teach. It is seamless and is as natural in my classroom, like pen and paper.

  ### 12. LUMIO is a GAMECHANGER and such a transformative UDL tool in increasing engagement and inclusion.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

Ever since a teacher in my school board introduced me to Lumio - I have been in awe and amazed at all that it offers and how it engages my virtual students each day! I wish we had this tool during the pandemic, and I am so grateful for it now that I have been volunteering to present Lumio PD at TDSB and city wide education technology conferences (one is this Friday April 19, Unleashing Learning, downtown Toronto). I have to let other educators, administrators and school teams know how incredible and transformative Lumio is especially since our school board focus is UDL and fostering inclusion and accessibility - ensuring all students are met where they are at and facilitating belonging and capacity. I love I can use LUMIO to easily combine digital AT and UDL strategies, transforming my previously one sided virtual lessons into active, inclusive and collaborative learning experiences that engage students in real time, from multiple entry points, using a variety of presentation tools (ex. Google slides, PPT, SMART, PDF) on any device, from any location (they are at home). Using this SMART learning management system daily over the past year with my virtual DD ISP students, I'm thrilled to unveil the magic of LUMIO—a revolutionary digital learning tool that transcends boundaries. LUMIO provides a way for students to seamlessly respond, share ideas and interact in person or virtually from any device, relevant to their specific IEP goals and starting points. I love to share with others that LUMIO enhances accessibility and ignites both independent and collaborative learning, and model ways to integrate LUMIO, UDL and AT to bridge the gaps for either in-person or virtual learning. I also incorporate AAC and Boardmaker 7 symbols into the Lumio slides and activities I make, which promotes essential communication skills for my students and empowers their voice and choice. I am so grateful for this tool daily, and even hope to pursue all 3 Lumio ambassador roles.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

The only features (and I have given feedback to ask if these can be developed) I wish Lumio had was a crop button, the ability to work on/open more than one lesson at a time, being able to save a photo as a background to a slide, how long it takes to download or upload a lesson, access to shared libraries (not a cost my school will pay), the ability to download student answers and responses afterwards instead of having to screen shot each page or it may get erased, and I wish the hard work I spend animating my google slides and powerpoints would remain after uploading them to Lumio (please add a feature that allows gifs and animations it keeps my students much more focused especially during reading (ex. blending segmenting words with an animated hand moving from letter to letter). Other than that I love how interactive Lumio is!

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LUMIO provides a daily interactive option/platform for my minimally verbal, virtual students and their families to seamlessly respond to discussions, choices and activities in real time and receive immediate feedback and encouragement from me. Students love to make choices independently now, and develop their skills without as much guided support. I love that they can easily sign in to lumio from any device and location, and so do their families.

  ### 13. Lumio is a game changer in my classroom to engage students in rigorous and relevant activities

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Misty F. | 3rd Grade Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

The best part of Lumio is how teacher friendly it is. I also like the pre-made templates. I feel like the templates have just the right amount of information. Not to much to be overwhelming, and yet open ended enough that I can make small changes to the templates and have a brand new lesson. I also like how I can switch from whole group to whiteboard to just me presenting in the middle of Lumio lessons.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

My only struggle is that there is no way to save student work. If we are working on a Lumio together than the students work is not saved. It is only available while the Lumio is open. I am not able to review their work at a later time or even use Lumio to show growth over time.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio allows me to present content in a new and exciting way to my students. It also allows my students to interact with ANY content in a innovative way.

  ### 14. Ready to go engagement software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandria L. | Educational Technology Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

Lumio makes it easy for teachers to quickly add their ideas to premade resources. Start with your own pdf or PowerPoint and with a click of a button your pages are now interactive for groups, individuals or a whole class discussion. Once your activities are set students join with a code and enter your virtual classroom which is fully of interaction. I love that the code stays the same but you have the power to reset it as needed. As a teacher I appreciate the ability to provide my students real time feed back.Lumio also makes it easy guide my students during their lesson or release them for individual activities at their pace. They also have a recording feature for each slide for recording audio for direction or even translation. I enjoy using Lumio and their company is great at listening to their customers talk feedback on what features to bring it next. Happy to be a Lumio teacher and share it's with my colleagues frequently.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

The only thing that I believe would make Lumio the perfect tool would be the ability to see the student thumbnails of work instead of having to click on each students name.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps cut down on copies, keeps students engaged and on task, and provides a hands on experience using tools kids love to use daily.

  ### 15. "I am Lumio SMART"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maribel R. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

I love that I can upload documents from my computer, Google drive, Canvas, and other platforms to Lumio and edit to add games, assessments, and many other rich content to enhance my lessons and engage students throughout them. I also love that it has options to convert pages into individual pdfs and not having to make any more copies. Lastly, for now, I can use any of their presentations and resources, edit them or simply integrate them into my lessons, to adapt them to my students' varied learning proficiencies. Thank you Lumio! #GoLumio

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

There is nothing to dislike about it, for it enriches my lessons delivery while actively engaging my students in their learning processes. Nothing to dislike at all! #Go Lumio

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can integrate so many learning features into one lesson without having to leave the application to search for other educational resources. It has all in one place.

  ### 16. Lumio is AWESOME!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liisa A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

There are so many fun ways to involve students in lessons, through collaboration, individual worksheets and group work. There are also fantastic game based activities that leverage teacher's content to effectively stimulate learning and revision. Using the Response tool, teachers are able to create full assessments and get immediate results which can be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet. This data can then be imported into an LMS and used for reporting, making tests and report writing a breeze! I am thrilled about the Immersive Reader, too, as it enables students with language or reading difficulty access the lessons. Lumio lessons are also very easy to create, and there is a vast library of ready made resources and lessons to use and personalise to fit the teacher and students. Best of all, Lumio can be accessed on any device, meaning teachers can teach from remote venues, in class and connect with students remotely too. And all this can be accessed on a mobile device, laptop, desktop, Apple product and SMART Interactive display. BONUS: IT IS FREE! It is easy to use from a student and teacher perspective, and is siple to implement in any educational setting. With the continuous support available through local and international support teams and the embedded help videos, there is never a time that you are left to figure things out on your own. Personally I use it all the time, in every lesson I present. It integrates well with Google and Microsoft. It also works with any student device with a browser. It also has integration with Canva! Simply an AWESOME edtech tool NO teacher should be without!!

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

A big downside is that it requires internet access, which means teachers in remote areas with spotty or poor internet connectivity might struggle with accessing lessons.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

* Cost of pen and paper assessments: with Lumio it is free and easy to do assessments. This means teachers are able to use their time more effectively. It is easy to draw up assessments and makes exam time much less stressful for teachers.
* Teachers already have content in PDF or PPT format, or on Google Drive. Lumio allows you to import these directly and use them right away for teaching.
* Students are often disconnected and univolved in lessons. With Lumio, leveraging their own devices, students are actively involved in lessosn. With the handout conversion, it is easy to see what students have done and mark their responses in real time.
* I think the biggest problem is integrating ICT inot teaching and learning, and Lumio makes this simple, fun and effective!

  ### 17. Lumio Newcomer and I love it here!

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

The most helpful thing so far is the ease of creating lessons that are fun and engaging. My district hosted a summer conference (DIGIN 24- Bibb County) where I learned so much more. The Lumio presenters were awesome. (Michelle and Michael were marvelous! )

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

I honestly have to say I haven't come arcross anything I dislike yet.

As a LUMIO ambassador, what I like most about the app is its intuitive and easy-to-use interface, which allows users to organize their tasks and projects efficiently. Additionally, I highly value its real-time collaboration features, which facilitate teamwork.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

As for what I like least, I could mention that some advanced functions may require a learning curve to fully utilize, but overall, LUMIO is an excellent project management tool.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

Lumio provides opportunities to integrate ready made content, games, and other interactive elements to presentations in PPT and Google Slides. It is very easy to use and implement. It also offers opportunities to make PDF's not only editable, but individulized for students and professional learners alike. While Lumio is an even more amazing tool when used in conjunction with a SMART Interactive Flat Panel, it is quite powerful even when used on its own.

The least helpful part of Lumio is that it is occasionally unreliable. With that being said, the support is always very responsive and quick to work on solutions.

It solves concerns about student engagement. It allows me to add interactive elements that keep student interested in my content.

I have access to graphic organizers, formative assessments, manipulatives, and videos all in one space. My students love it and the teachers in my school are using it more than any resource we have! Great product and it just continues to get better and better.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

At times the new Editable PPT feature does not work, but I understand it's in Beta so I know it will only get better with time!

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio allows me to use one product rather than multiple digital resources. I can find what I am looking for in one platform.

**Reviewed by:** Carol L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

There are so many things Lumio does well, but the interactive elements that can be combined with collecting formative assessment data are my favorite. With every student interacting with the lesson from their individual devices formative data is easy to collect. What's even better is that the students simply think they are playing a game.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

Some of the interactive games do not allow easy access to the student results

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio allows the collection of data for evidence based practices.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Teressa H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

What I like best is the different tools that you can do to enhance any learning activity. I love how my students love the interactive games and activities.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

I usually don't have issues with Lumio. the onlu thing that I could consider a downside is that it doesnt allow you to be a teacher of multiple course at the same time. You have to keep changing the Class ID.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been getting better at using Lumio to incorperate student lead instuction so that the students are able to lead the classroom discussions.

  ### 35. Wonderful Engagement tool

I think Lumio is perfect, and there is nothing to say about it.

Lumio, like many other edtech apps help me as an Educator and Trainer to manage my class and team.

  ### 38. Lumio - Collaborative learning across education

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

I love the way it can support various planning tools including SMART Notebook, PowerPoint and PDFs, seamlessly bringing the tools together to create a unique learning experience. I also love the way it has the learner at the centre of all it has to offer, especially the interactive and engaging games that are perfect for retrieval and procedural practice.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

There are some aspects of MSART Notebook that are brilliant including various fonts, screen shaed, timers that can be added to individual pages. Having this accessible on Lumio will be a game changer!

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio creates a higher level of engagement for students, especially within our 1-1 laptop schemes that is currently running on one of our year groups. Children are more incentivised to take risks and push their learning and feel supported by their class teacher who can 'drop in' to their work and support where needed. It is also a tool that helps support our children fo rthe next stage of their learning in becoming digitally literate, a skill that is too commonly overlooked as being something children will gain through experience.

  ### 39. I love Lumio !!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandrine P. | Primary school teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

The pupils work with great motivation thanks to the games and the playful environment. Lumio is easy for students to use.
Lumio is easy to use for teachers: games can be programmed in minutes. Students can connect to it even from home, great in these times of a pandemic. I couldn't do without Lumio!

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

I would like Lumio and Notebook to be at the same level of use. But I know that SMART is working on it and we see new things appearing very often. I look forward to being able to join sounds for words or pictures.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Students can work independently, thanks to the audio instructions. The games allow the students to be able to train in a fun way; moreover they are self-correcting, it saves time for me. It is helpful during the periods of learning distance because we have direct access to the activities of the pupils and can guide them as well as possible.

  ### 40. The SMART Way to Approach Hybrid Learning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa B. | Teacher/Instructional Technology Coach, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

Smart Learning Suite Online offers a great way to include both in-person and online learners at the same time. Collaboration can even occur between the two! I love the way that I can "see" what my virtual students are working on. The games are a quick and easy way to add more active participation and can be made in minutes! My students love them!

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

There is nothing I dislike. You do need to spend some time learning the system. I do like how I can use my Google Slides presentations that I already have. You can simply "pop" in the games and update easily.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On occasion, if a student gets bumped off their home internet, they have difficulty finding their way back in.
The benefits include increased collaboration, motivation, and enthusiasm. They love using SLSO!

  ### 41. Lumio review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dana H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

I love that the students can interact with the pages and I get results on what they are doing. I love that I can see in real time how they are doing especially using Shout it out!

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

There aren't enough widgets to use on theboard when creating, and when you bring in a notebook file it doesn't work the same way it does when you are using Notebook without Lumio

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio enables me to see what the students are doing in real-time. I instantly know who understands what is being taught and who doesn't understand. Love the feedback and the interaction the students have with it.

  ### 42. One-Stop Shop

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah M. | Math Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

Lumio is a fantastic cloud-based platform I use daily to keep my students engaged in math content. It truly is a one-stop shop. I love being able to import my own materials and add a little Lumio spice to make the lessons collaborative, fun and a tool I can use to gather valuable feedback.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

The only current downside is that the math text feature is functional for the teacher only. I would prefer that my students have access to the equation editor also.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio truly is a one-stop shop. When I am creating lessons for my classes, I don't have time to jump from site to site and then link everything in a slidedeck. Lumio has embedded features that make lesson planning so much more streamlined.

  ### 43. Innovative and Creative for All

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle D. | Educator, Tech Advisor, Teacher Trainer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

It is interactive and has an incredible amount of variety. You are able to bring in existing lesson plans and jazz them up, use readily made materials that have been vetted, or create an awesome lesson and activity from scratch.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

I really do not see a downside. When getting others started on Lumio I feel like the most significant challenge I have faced is helping them not to feel overwhelmed. There are so many useful features and some teachers do not know where to start. I like to start them off with Flip Out and once they are as hooked as I am I show them the vast array of innovative teaching activities.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio keeps the students engaged. It allows students to work as a whole group or individually. It helps me monitor the progress of my students as see areas I may need to review. It provides me with immediate feedback, and it helps me provide all of my students with the tools they need for success. I can work with struggling students who are still on the task or assignment while allowing others to move on and do supplemental activities. It is a game changer.

  ### 44. Awesome Program!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David T. | Instructional Technology Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

I love that Lumio puts student engagement and learning first in what can be accomplished in the classroom! Hugely beneficial software and program in combination with Smart Technologies to really redefine what learning looks like in the classroom!

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

With the exception of some internet issues or drops at rare times, Lumio is forever growing and making changes at the request of teachers and educators around the globe. There is much to be improved just like any piece of tech, but they are well on their way!

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love that I can share my concerns with Lumio's team and they are on it in fixing or updating future lessons, content, or programing features to accommodate my needs in the future!

  ### 45. The best of the best!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gonzalo G. | Technology for Learning Department Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

The ease in setting up & configuring classes; creating, modifying & sharing activities or lessons; following students learning; collaborating with others (teachers & students)

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

Well... er... Do I have to write anything? It is challenging to find something that I dislike of Lumio...

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As we have moved to a hybrid learning environment (and this will last a bit), managing simultaneous learning activities both in person and at home is really simple with Lumio: not only individual work (with "Share a Copy") but collaborative teamwork (with same-environment students or multi-environment students) is easy and effective; launching interactive activities created on-the-fly to follow formative assessment is one of the most useful and engaging features of Lumio!!

  ### 46. LUMIO GREAT FOR IN CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura P. | Classroom teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

That I can upload documents and work along side my students. I like the fact that I don't loose any down time. Also, that I can add documents instantly. I do like microsoft edge that I can highlight, add text, and draw. What I prefer mostly is that it's less steps than that of Lumio.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

That there are several steps to get everything uploaded. Perhaps, look at other similar programs that educators use. Less steps. I would like to see how I can make the assignments only where students can answer in the space provided and not able to just scribble all over the documents.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I would defiantly use it more. Students are writing all over their documents. The benefits that I realize are that Lumio is cost-effective, and I help the environment by using this platform.

  ### 47. Excellent Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tracee M. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

Lumio is an amazing product. It is so versatile and allows me to work with the many different subject areas that I teach. I am able to adapt many of the templates in the library to really be able to improve engagement with my students. It has been a joy to implement this product in my courses.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

Since my division does not allow us to use the Google integration feature, I am only allowed to upload already made PowerPoint via PDF. Since they are imported as images, it is challenging when I find an error. I have to re-upload that page or the entire presentation. It is really frustrating when that happens. I wish there were an easier way to import presentations.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have problems at times reaching my customers, being my students. The interactive activities that are in Lumio help me to keep my students engaged and interested in what I am doing. They really love the monsters.

  ### 48. Engaging Students One Lesson at a Time!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kayla B. | Instructional Technology Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

I like that you can upload all content that has already been created. I also like that you can add it all together in one presentation. Lumio provides game-based learning and quick formative assessments that allow teachers to adjust their lesson on the fly!

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

The downsides of Lumio are some of its editing features. It is sometimes best to create slides in another platform and then upload them into Lumio than to start from scratch in the Lumio platform.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio helps with merging multiple forms of content in one place. It also helps turn static lessons into more interactive ones for the students!

  ### 49. Lumio - great resource for all!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen L. | Director for Innovation & Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

LUmio is a great tool for building interactive lessons, resources, daily charts, and managing routines. I love how Lumio is available everywhere on any device.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

I cannot wait for Lumio to have more of the SMART Notebook features. It's growing very quickly and I have no doubt it will be as powerful as Notebook is in the future.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumio is growing every year. SMART listens to teachers and customers to build what is most needed in the classroom. I love the responsiveness of the company and will continue to use them in my admin role.

  ### 50. Great for student engagement!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer S. | Elementary Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumio?**

During a whole group lesson, I can present information to students on my interactive board and students can see it on their laptops too so they are more engaged. I can walk around the classroom and see which students are understanding the work and which need more help quickly. I can also share student work with the rest of the class to demonstrate a concept or idea.

**What do you dislike about Lumio?**

I wish I could change the background color when I create an activity. It would be nice if there were a set of simple black and white icons to use in designing activities that I could color.

**What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engagement is the biggest one. Students love to use computers in the classroom and Lumio helps me make fun activities for them that grab their attention. They never want to stop using Lumio once they start.
