We do offer Extended-Length Messaging. This enables you to have more characters to use in your messaging. Any text beyond 160 characters will cost additional messages per subscriber. This can be toggled on by clicking your name in the top-right corner - "My Account" - "Extended Length Messaging".

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you encountered when uploading contacts to a specific list. There are a few ways to manage this. You can upload contacts manually, or you can create a Keyword associated with the list. This way, when contacts text that Keyword to your SlickText number, they will automatically be added to the corresponding list.
