"Slab being hub spot for an open-source project"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Slab?

We have been using Slab for documentation in our open source project named Glific. We loved Slab and the thing we liked most about it is that the entire interface is very user friendly, with common elements and commands that I'm used to. This makes creating any new documentation of a feature very quick and easy. Adding images wherever needed and formatting the entire document in a way that can be easy to understand for any new person who reads it for the first time is just super awesome Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slab?

So far we are using Slab quite extensively and it is meeting our needs, We would love to see some additional features like a search bar for quick resource searching and the option to add tags to documents.

The search bar then can be extended to search based on a tag or show-related tag searches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use - in house shop - for all processes, workflows, and org documents"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Slab?

Personally, I like Slabs UI. It is not too corporate-y and feels very tailored for a small-medium size business. The documents you publish can be read very easily and in fact, I believe people read them more thoroughly since it's easy on the easy (font, spacing, etc). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slab?

What I do not like about Slab is that is takes a bit of "warming up." When we first introduced it to the business it was bit difficult to put all our documents inside the platform. Also, some things like tables, which are highly functional in Notion are not so in Slab. This is some headache, but not a dealbreaker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Slab is awesome - Their open source policy is fabulous ..."
5/5
What do you like best about Slab?

We've been using Slab under their open-source policy (free for open-source projects) for the past 18 months or so. We've had an amazing experience with great support and responsiveness from the Slab team

We are a wee bit atypical in the sense that we use Slab mainly for our public documentation (since we are open source, everything is public!). There were a few missing features that the Slab team worked with us to build and deploy. For an organization to help our uncommon use case under a free license is truly special. We've been making periodic requests and the communication and resolution have been great

We've had most of our team contribute to documentation and things have worked out super smoothly for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slab?

Not a whole lot primarily since most of our requests were resolved fairly quickly. Our latest request is to add search to the public-facing pages, and I suspect this will happen in the near future Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I still think Slab is great but I would love to see some additional features."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Slab?

Slab is easy to use and integrates search with Slack and Google Drive so it is easy to find information no matter where it lives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slab?

It would be nice to be able to add custom domains to the Startup account.

While I don't think Slab needs to compete directly with Notion or Craft, I would love for those tools to inspire more flexibility for multi-column layouts and data tables.

Content embeds are flaky in Safari on macOS where the preview often doesn't render. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
