I have opened and VERIFIED my old account about a year ago. After the war in Ukraine started, I relocated to Poland and Skrill blocked my ability to refill. They simply said that my selfie does not match my passport and CLOSED MY ACCOUNT. Local bank account online banking won't do much unless you have set up everything sealed with a signature or stamp. Not to mention human service fees are higher. SKrill has its secured account verification system; sending the payment can be done in a few seconds without worrying about its status. Easy to track from mobile app, push notification is also available which tells you important event of your transaction. Skrill also accepts transfers using credit cards, skrill charges 2.5%, but my bank gives 5% on every online purchase; this means I'm earning an extra 2.5% of the transfer and won't have to pay until next month.
