What I love most about Northpass is how video is integrated directly into the slide; we could play it there. Unlike with other platforms I tried before, whenever there is a video to play, it pops up another page, and sometimes access is restricted, and it causes a lot of delays. I like how Northpass keeps us calibrated. This tool helps us provide more excellent knowledge by giving us the best quality tool for training reference within our organization. I also like how creative the creator can be when building the training for our company. Northpass also gives us the time it will take for us to finish one module. The thing I don't like about Norhpass is its gap and glitch in some modules. There are modules where the audio and video cannot be played; only the creator can access the audio. I also suggest giving us the option within the Northpass itself to zoom the content on the app. As per my experience, I don't have the opportunity to zoom the attached file with the slide; the only zoom option I have is within the computer's zooming option, which makes the page bold all at once. We migrated from another LMS to Skilljar. The Implementation team made the entire migration process very simple and straightforward. Within a few days, our entire team was proficient using Skilljar - the dashboard is clean and intuitive. The Skilljar Academy provided all of the training we needed to get started.

We received great support throughout the entire implementation process, and good advice to steer us in the right direction with our new customer education site.

Skilljar is designed primarily as a customer education platform, but we use it for both customer education and internal training. There are a few limitations when it comes to managing internal training. Our previous LMS supported the use of due dates, reporting on overdue training, and manager notifications. We have found workarounds for each of these gaps, but it would be nice to see a self-serve reporting option, where we could tailor our own reports or analytics. Excellent customer service from our rep, Nergis Tepeli. We meet regularly to talk about how best to use Northpass for our real estate university. She's responsive to our needs and very easy to work with. Northpass isn't able to perform the way we want/need in a few situations. For example, I want to be able to replicate a learner's exact experience by accessing their account on the back end as an administrative impersonator, but that's not available in Northpass. Also, Northpass is not intuitive to use. I have to poke around to find what I'm looking for (reports, specific data, etc.), which is inefficient and frustrating. Fortunately, we have Nergis to ask, but I'd rather the UI work better. Also, Northpass needs more options for learner interactions. For example, hot spots would be awesome. I'm new to Skilljar and the platform has a ton integrations that can help with making learning much more engaging.

I love the idea of being able to integrate in hands-on lab and integrations. We are starting with low-statkes certification but there are integrations for high-stake when we get there which is fantastic for us when decide to scale later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Majority of the reports are stock and cannot be manipulated, aside from drilling down into specific date ranges and group or domain analytics. I'd love to be able to add/remove columns in-app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Since switching to Skilljar, we have received great feedback about the user experience. The ability to customize each domain's look and feel is excellent. It allows us to give employees, customers and partners a personalized experience based on the business relationship.

Skilljar has made it easier for students to navigate the training offerings and, in turn, has lowered the number of support tickets students open when it comes to navigating, registering and completing training.

Regarding creating and publishing courses, plans and paths are very easy to learn and understand. Having the many setting options allows us to create one course for all domains while still allowing us to have a specific setting for each domain! This is a great time saver for those courses we need to publish in all our domains!

I also LOVE the training credit option! Using the promo codes did not work very smoothly for our business, no fault of Skilljar, so when the training credits went live, it was like angels came from the skies above and blessed me with extra time in my day! This drastically cut down the number of support tickets regarding promo codes not working for their desired courses. These tickets are practically non-existent now! I have found several pain points with the platform as an administrator.

Reporting

I have found that the lack of customized reporting has been the biggest issue for our Education and Training department. I would like to see the ability to customize my reports with any of the available data in Skilljar. I know this is in the works and should be an option soon.

Student Event Cancellations

In addition, I would love to see an option to opt-in to receiving student event cancellations. Occasionally, a student cancels their live event registration, and I have no idea until after I have invoiced them for the event. Avoiding unnecessary invoices would be fantastic!

Removing Certifications

Finally, we have had some issues with students obtaining certificates of completion they did not earn. I typically need to open a case to have the certificate removed; being able to do this myself would be great.

Registration Deadlines

We cannot lock registrations and often get students who can register after the event has started. Adding a registration deadline for all events would be very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Northpass is easy to use out of the box. So easy that when we set it up almost two years ago, it was done extremely quickly! After multiple admins added a proliferation of content, it was difficult to find what you needed, and the content was confusing and outdated. The team at Northpass was extremely helpful in supporting our refresh and worked very hard to keep the platform cleaner and the content more discoverable. I would like to see Northpass change a couple of things. Firstly, the organization of content around courses. Making adding content outwith a course easier would make the platform more comprehensive and more useable as a knowledge center and an LMS. Also, making the analytics more robust and ensuring statistics and usage rules can be set up to suit specific use cases would make the platform even better. while course content creation is fairly easy, the experience publishing/organizing/creating navigation for the content is not intuitive. This is also true of many settings such as labeling, groups. Difficult to make bulk edits. Aesthetics of courses leaves much to be desired and could use some more templates or styling help so that courses look good out of the box.
