I have used them as an MCT to prepare for exams and also my students enjoyed using them. The LMS is easy to use and allows us to create classes easily and we like how easy the student can enroll in the class by sending him/her a redeem code. we also liked the badging system that is offered. Als the support team is really amazing and issues are solved quickly. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** from my point of opinion, the challenge labs are perfect, however, we would like to have the challenge labs available in other languages and in our case to be in Italian. The administration part is somehow complicated and needs training to be used. The LMS must have a mobile app so students can access the class from any phone or tablet. **Recommendations to others considering Skillable:** we are using LOD labs, challenge labs, and the LMS. it is covering our needs and the students like the labs as it leads them in a step by step mode. the LMS also is easy to use and we are creating our classes **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** they were able to provide me with labs in which you will get hands-on training with real-life scenarios. we are also using LOD learning management system which allows us to create training classes. LOD is providing their LMS for free for their partners and this really shows commitment towards their partners which we really appreciate. ### 3. I am able to make adjustments on the fly as my classes increase or reduce in size. The adjustments are immediate and we come across professionally and efficient. The LOD team is there to assist and if there is a requirement for troubleshooting, they do it effectively and timeously minimizing the impact in our classes. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** There is very little to dislike, the system caters for all types of organisations and you choose what you need. In order to learn best, it is by experience we gain through trial and error which the labs provide the space to test out concepts without impact. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** There is a limitation for pre configured actions so you must allow for replication before testing. Allowances for replication is not something negative in the system itself. It's just how the configurations are set up and the natural expected result from configuration needs to leverage in a test environment. **Recommendations to others considering Skillable:** Training and education is a huge need for IT. Enabling technical staff to obtain a lab environment to work on builting out configurations to then turn around and apply to the production environments, is a huge benefit. These virtual enviorments allows for a better understanding and transfer of knowledge to be exchanged from the Instructor to the engineer. Been looking at these folks for a while for a solution to the performance-based experience for IT systems. The early stages of these attempts were kludgy and not authentic ("drag the square box into the square hole", etc.). Learn On Demand Systems allows you to spin up real instances of IT environments, and then present issues that have to be resolved by the student. Like taking a real driver's test, in a car...or a starship. Very impressed. Labs are deployed on-demand when students launch them. The customer service and trainers have been amazing to work with. The staff I have worked with are very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The lab environment runs using a web browser. There is no need for students to install software or connect to a VPN in order to access the labs. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** It can be a little confusing when creating and saving labs for deployment. Also, the classroom side of Learn on Demand is separated from the Lab Developer side. **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are developing labs for IT continuing education courses. This has been very helpful when transitioning from in-person classes to at-home online-only classes due to Covid-19. I was able to quickly develop multiple course labs in Learn on Demand within a very short time and our continuing education department only lost about 1-2 weeks of course offerings. We have had enrollments from students who are not local and are an audience we could not have reached without Learn on Demand. ### 36. The one thing that stand out though is customer service. I am very impressed on the turn around time on the few tickets I have submitted over the 2 years I've been working with them. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** I don't have any real complaints. The only thing I might bring up is the way the administration for classrooms is separate from the site you use to actually build the labs, but I believe that is one of the features they are working on. **Recommendations to others considering Skillable:** It is a great place to build custom labs. Take some time to learn the many features, your students will be glad you did. **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am creating hands on lab environments for customers and IT elearners. This has allowed many of our students a greater understanding of the material as they can practice what they have learned in real time. We leverage virtual machines to conduct virtual software training for our customer base. LODS provides a complete solution with virtual machines, embedded guided instruction, formal environment, live and self-paced, and more. LODS is easy to use for everybody involved - it requires minimal steps/effort from the students' to get logged in, navigate, and participate in class; as well as little effort & time on the instructor/administrator's side to set up the classes. The development team was wonderful to work with and produced a great product. They are receptive to all of our requests and customizations, timely, skilled, and provide attentive customer support. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** Thus far, the frustrations I have experienced were the result of user error (on my part, as I was learning the platform) that were easily remedied with their help features and/or reaching out to their helpline for guidance. Great relationship with their team and appreciate the rhythm of business calls that are conducted with us each month, too. Their blog is very useful for our instructors & team members who are new to the product, and the monthly webinars are a big value add for our team, also. The ability to impersonate and assist with virtual students and their labs is a game changer, especially post-COVID since so many of our students are now virtual. We also like that using LOD has cut down on our classroom set-up time and that we can aggregate content in one spot from all of our vendors - much easier for billing and tracking. Help desk is accessible via several different ways which is nice: chat, email or phone. Ticketed system allows you to track your issues from start to finish. Can customize your portal to your needs - with your own company name, logo, colors, etc. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** Having to wait for new classes to be built, but that comes with the territory of being early adapters! occasionally there are lag times and slowness with the labs environments itself. **Recommendations to others considering Skillable:** If you are looking for a cloud lab solution, this is one of the best (if not the best). Definitely get training on how to use the portal, look at options (training keys, for example!), utilizing the newsletters, webinars, bogs, and establish a good relationship with your contacts. **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using LOD has allowed us to centralize our lab platform, all students can access labs regardless of where they are, and it makes an even playing field for all of our classes, too. It has also helped us to not have to reinvest in hardware at as quick a rate as we have in the past which is helpful. It's also a value -add when we are responding to RFPs and other business that we can include cloud labs for anywhere from six months to twelve months post course. Our instructors benefit from being able to prep on the labs in a cloud environment as often as they need to. ### 48. We are a software provider in the telecommunication area. Training is a very small group in the company and we only train our customers on our product. LOD is not used for soft skills internal training or anything else apart from training of our software. We sometimes have a bit of unusual requirements. I know for sure that we are the first (maybe only) LOD customer using Cisco VMs in LOD labs. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 1. First and foremost LOD team - the helpdesk people are really great and very helpful. Turn around of TT is good and they do not let anything drop on the floor / be forgotten. 2. The rest of the team is also fab and will always do whatever they can to resolve any issue / question / challenge put forward where the helpdesk does not have an immediate answer. 3. It is simple and easy to create instructions. 4. Labs management is useful 5. Delivery of classes is great. The monitoring lab option is really useful **What do you dislike about Skillable?** 1. Both on lab lab development as well as LMS GUI can be made more user friendly. For example, the fact that in order to save any change i need to scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen. There "Save" and all other actions such as "details / edit / delete" should on a floating bar or somewhere else on screen that is always visible to user . Sort of basic GUI standard these days. 2. Adding new users (students) in a bulk via the csv file is very primitive. Should have better user creating tools. 3. As our SW is updated at least couple of times a year, updating labs and material is a lot of work (i am using 6-8 labs per course and need to update / upgrade each separately) **Recommendations to others considering Skillable:** Run a trial and see how the system works for you Get someone with good understanding of whatever you want to train on to be the lead person for LOD **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** 1. Training remotely made easy 2. No need to travel anymore (even before COVID times) and can run one class for people sitting in different time-zones or even different continents. Can run small classes 3. No need to maintain training lab on our data centre. Re-utilised HW. 4. Lab access done via internet access and simple browser. No need for specific access tools which are sometimes challenging for customers to install due to company IT restrictions. ### 49. I have been using Go Deploy, Xtremelabs and LOD.
