From the days of labor-intensive manual classroom setup, to varying degrees of clumsy automation. Learn on Demand systems, tools, and personnel are simply the best; frankly refreshing in a world of spotty customer service and haphazard code and tools. I most likely would have stopped training years ago if it we had not partnered with Learn on Demand. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** They are almost too innovative. I wish I had time to explore all their tools and offerings in greater depth. Learn on Demand is like a factory of trainer crack. **Recommendations to others considering Skillable:** Give it a try! **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** Learn on Demand provides terrific resources for IT pro to continue learning – from lab challenges to our ability to customize classroom images to solve specific needs. ### 2. Instead of using classroom computers, students love to be able to work on labs from home for additional experience. Instructors love to use Learn on Demand to monitor student progress and assign homework. We have been using Microsoft labs via Learn on Demand but now we are creating our own custom labs. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** We have nothing to dislike about Learn on Demand. **Recommendations to others considering Skillable:** They have great instructional videos about the product on YouTube. **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our students have much better productivity and we can monitor their progress. ### 3. This isn't a simulated environment. It incorporates real Virtual Machines in a track-able, score-able, repeatable lab experience. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** This is a relatively young company so they are moving quickly to create new features and experiences. Sometimes the documentation gets a little behind. They have fantastic support though so that certainly helps. **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are transforming our corporate classroom environment from multi-week long retreats costing massive amounts in travel, accommodation and time off the job into a series of consumable, short, remote labs and Self-Paced modules that provide all the education we need. At the same time it allows us to focus classroom time on only what is really needed. Win Win Win. ### 4. Our account manager in particular has been a star and has been very quick to answer questions or direct them to the appropriate people so we have a prompt answer. The platform itself runs in a lightweight HTML5 browser, so no complexities of using RDP or similar. We've been able to build labs from scratch, using Windows ISOs to tailor to each country, and install our own software for training purposes. There is a lot of customisation available, all within a web GUI - we've not needed to use all of it as yet, but the iDLX language for instructions also has a lot of potential for self-paced training. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** Not much really; the costs are reasonable, as above, the team have been going above and beyond to help with issues and questions too. **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a lab that was reliable, easy to use, and had support for both trainers and delegates. This frees up the trainer's time and means they've not spending time trying to troubleshoot connectivity issues or similar; the delegate can request help from LOD from within their own VM window. This added-value training is important as we transition away from a traditional classroom setting and still need to provide hands-on practice. ### 6. Some taken to high complexity also with shared infrastructure components in a class setting like subscriptions, certificates, activity-based assessments for reaching true automation in a free-form lab environment. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** Everyone must have something - The lack of ability to save labs longer when idle. We want to expand to longer/more complex classes. This is a growing pain. **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** Hands-on education in a complex specialized industry of M&A. Simulated lab environments only allow one to enter the expected commands. With the LODS environment, I can learn a new command and then try variations. Networked virtual machines are helpful. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** Lab startup times can be a little slow, but this doesn't detract from the learning experience. **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm achieving benefits by learning PowerShell, more Linux material, security tools, and the use of containers. ### 16.
