My students had no complaints! **What do you dislike about Skillable?** There were a number of minor issues that we (my students and I) discovered in the lab instructions, but they were all minor. **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** Skillable makes it easy to deliver labs for the Microsoft and CompTIA classes that I deliver, without having to build the infrastructure and maintain my own lab environment. Additionally, their programs to support trainers helps me to develop my skills when learning new classes. ### 2. It gives learners the confidence to experiment and make mistakes without consequences. Plus, the variety of labs available means there’s something for every skill level, which makes it a great tool for continuous learning **What do you dislike about Skillable?** While Skillable is a powerful platform, sometimes the lab instructions can be a bit too rigid, leaving little room for exploration beyond the defined path. A bit more flexibility or guidance for edge cases would make the experience even better **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the biggest challenges I faced was delivering consistent, real-world training without access to live environments. I remember a session where I had to teach a group of learners about role based security configurations. Before Skillable, this would have meant either a dry theoretical walkthrough or a risky live demo. With Skillable, I was able to set up a virtual lab where each learner could experiment independently. They made mistakes, learned from them, and came out more confident. It’s solving the problem of safe, scalable, and effective technical training—and that’s a game-changer for me. ### 3. But every time I am required to use it is awful. **What do you dislike about Skillable?** Things start incredibly slowly. Taking minutes to load a single lesson. Everything is simulated, whether or not I gain anything by it being simulated. Accomplishing tasks does not automatically check off things so you're left constantly leaving the lesson to manually check boxes and keep up with where you're at, breaking flow and concentration. Evaluate Questions can take a stupid amount of time to verify as well. And that's when the labs are working. So many times the labs have bugged out completely and left me unable to complete them. This is an incredibly frustrating experience to deal with. I hate every second using them and wish I could skip them so I could get back to actually learning. **What problems is Skillable solving and how is that benefiting you?** None **Official Response from Jenny Davis:** > I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the labs! This mismatch forces me to exit the training to figure out how to proceed, disrupting my learning process. It's clear the lab manuals need updating to ensure they reflect the actual lab setup correctly.
