I appreciate Skillable for its highly reliable virtual machine instructions and unique features that enhance learning experiences. The platform's minimal issues and accurate instructions make it seamless and efficient. It's straightforward for beginners, allowing easy access to virtual machines and lab exercises. The feature that lets me directly view and assist a learner's screen is invaluable, particularly for large groups. The scheduling feature and the ability to relaunch labs improve learning retention significantly. Skillable's deep integration with Microsoft services, especially Azure, stands out.

I find it problematic that while monitoring the screen of learners, I am unable to speak with them directly through the platform. Although I can perform actions on their screen, not having the ability to enable the mic and communicate verbally is a significant limitation. This requires me to use an external method to talk to the students while overseeing their activities, creating a disjointed experience. It would be beneficial if there was functionality that allowed for real-time communication with students within the platform while monitoring their screens.

I find Skillable helps me manage and assist students effectively, letting me directly view and resolve learners' issues, even in large sessions over 100 participants. It ensures easy lab setup and accurate instructions, enhancing my efficiency as a Microsoft instructor.

Learning experience was very interactive, user interface has improved a lot making it more UI friendly then older versions. I have been using skillable from past 5years for hands on exercises on azure labs.

I get it bundled with MCT benefits which is a plus point, thus letting me learn any Microsoft concept that involves labs.

Instructions are crisp and clear. During login issue, I reached out to customer support, they were quick to respond like < 1day.

Sometime labs are buffering/ lagging behind, it could be my internet issue too. During training when I am live with students, it is a bit frustrating but I have been able to manage it by switching context to some other items while the background loading continues.

I feel labs should be interwoven using AI, Skillable can suggest whats next we should learn based on the current lab context.

Major chunk is setting up pre-requisites for any hands on exercise which Skillable takes care of, thus saving my time from pre-setup and I just jump to what needs to be done rather spending time on infra setup. I can always get a fresh lab with everything reset. No headache of software installations or azure signups.

The ease of managing classes and monitoring student progress. The number of labs available for students to complete is great; they can experience how the cloud platform works, even without access to a student account.

I can't comment on customer support, as I haven't had to use it. However, it was always readily available if I needed it. People who had trouble finding a tool or integrating with other services said the process was easy with customer support.

The frequency of use varies, as it's directly proportional to the implementation of services in the classroom.

One of the issues I identified when I first gained access was the availability and latency of the labs accessing Skillable's servers. This may be a problem due to the high demand on the telecommunications infrastructure in the region where I live.

Other than that, the ease of implementation is incredibly easy.

It solves the problems of accessing a business or student account, because if the student does not have these accounts, they can access the platform through Skillable and perform the necessary configurations and implementations in the labs, with a step-by-step guide and providing the necessary instructions to increase their cognition.

The fact that everything is easy to sync and is available on multiple platforms depending on major ones used. and more, the best part was to be able to learn to practice using their virtual machine.

The fact this is not synced with frelance platforms yet, or maybe I have not been able to find out how to go about it... other than that great! I think it's a blessing to have skillable platform

Lag/Latency issue we were facing many times.

Before Skillable we were using VDI for all type of training which is costly, and not a scalable option. After Skillable we get rid of it and related issue.

easy to use, well implemented, saves me a lot of time while preparing for sessions.

It feels so good when i watch my students does it live and then practicing.

Only thing which i dislike is occasional lags while launching labs at times. For first timers, sometimes it might feel a bit complicated. A bit more simplification of UI would go long way.

One of the biggest problems is for bridging between theory learning and practical learning. Skillable solves this issue beautifully. I don't need to depend on passive learning but also active learning.

The cloud slice integration in particular is a standout — it allows us to build and deploy cloud-based labs with relative ease.

We also appreciate the intuitive user interface, which has only gotten better with recent updates. Features like custom theming, containerization support, and ongoing improvements to usability make Skillable feel modern and developer-friendly. The platform has clearly been built with extensibility and long-term use in mind.

We’re now in the process of migrating from our on-premises solution to Skillable’s cloud-hosted offering, and while it’s a big shift, the overall platform capabilities make us optimistic about the future. From a feature standpoint, Skillable gives us the tools we need to deliver impactful, hands-on experiences.

Our main challenge with Skillable has been its integration with Microsoft Azure. While the cloud slice concept works well for many workloads, Azure requires manual scripting in the lifecycle configuration, which slows us down and adds extra steps compared to other environments.

Because we use Skillable so frequently, even small issues can impact delivery. The caching problems—where labs occasionally lose their cached state and fail to load—have been particularly disruptive, especially during live sessions. While these don’t occur every day, they’ve happened often enough that we’ve had to raise multiple support tickets over time.

Thankfully, network latency problems we had earlier seem to have been resolved, which has helped stability.

Lastly, while Skillable offers a solid value for the feature set, we do feel the pricing could be a bit more competitive, especially for long-term adoption at scale. Still, considering the platform’s capabilities and overall ease of use, it's been worth it for us.

Before Skillable, managing labs across different environments (especially at scale) was a significant operational challenge. We had to maintain our own infrastructure, deal with versioning inconsistencies, and often spent a lot of time troubleshooting lab configurations.

Skillable solves this by providing a centralized, cloud-ready platform that simplifies lab orchestration. Features like cloud slice integration, lifecycle scripting, and custom theming allow us to create realistic and engaging lab experiences with minimal setup.

It also helps us reduce manual effort and improve consistency — every user gets a clean, repeatable environment, which is critical for both training and demo success. While there are still some hiccups (like Azure integration and caching issues), the benefits far outweigh the pain points.
