"Sketch is a valuable tool that I use everyday"
5/5
What do you like best about Sketch?

I love how simple Sketch is to use. I've gotten incredibly used to the shortcut keys and since it's so common, it's always easy to find a quick tutorial on YouTube. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sketch?

The biggest issue I regularly have with Sketch is if my file is pretty large (40+ artboards), it takes a long time to download and open the file and making updates can lead to a loading spinner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Sketch?

Sketch has been around for long enough that no matter what your goal is, there's a way to make it happen. There's an extensive library of available plugins, tutorials, and documentation available. It's widespread enough that most colleagues will be able to open and modify Sketch files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sketch?

Despite being one of the most advanced design programs available, Sketch remains clunky and at times buggy even with a detailed release and update cadence and transparency in bug fix docs. Frequent updates mean that I often reconfigure most components to the latest Sketch systems, such as using color tokens or other features. The lack of ease in maintaining a library of interconnected designs made this program feel dated and slow, and I didn't enjoy using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Sketch?

For web and mobile wireframing, visual design, prototyping and handoff to development there's no better application out there than Sketch. The interface is clean, intuitive, and, most of all, powerful. It's easy to create instances of symbols for important/reused components. So versioning is a breeze. I think what makes Sketch such a powerful tool is that it embraces third-party plug ins. So the things Sketch doesn't do, third party developers are creating plug ins to accommodate. What do you dislike about Sketch?

There's not a ton to dislike about Sketch, at least for doing web and mobile design work. It'd be fantastic if there were more photo editing capabilities, so that I could cut Photoshop out of my workflow completely. Additionally, as a vector illustration software, it is not as precise or as robust as Illustrator. So, when I need to create a logo or an icon, the Adobe Creative Cloud is still my go to there. I do sometimes have issues importing vector graphics from other tools (like Illustrator), which can cause frustration. It would really be nice if Sketch could integrate better with Creative Cloud, so extracting assets from Photoshop or Illustrator were easier, quicker and more seamless. "Sketch makes wireframing easy"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sketch?

Sketch has proven to be a fantastic and practical piece of software for my company. My approach to my customers has been greatly simplified because of Sketch.  For customers, I utilize sketch to wireframe websites so they can get a mocked up feel for the site before it goes live. Sketch is easy to use and helps me to quickly experiment with different designs and ideas. The enormous number of plugins that interface with Sketch, in my opinion, is what sets it apart from its competitors. Additionally, the option to install plugins has cut my turnaround time for clients in half. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sketch?

There isn't much about Sketch that I don't like. It's simple, straightforward, and performs exactly how I need it to. If I had to pick one flaw with Sketch, it would be that it is only available for the Mac operating system. Despite the fact that I am a Mac user, I would like Sketch to have browser functionality, similar to what Figma has. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Manage large flows for UX design"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sketch?

Sketch perfectly manages large workflows, for interfaces to web sites, applications or other devices. Very easy to use, it is a software recommended for all UI / UX designers because it interacts very well with other software and has many plug-ins that increase its possibilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sketch?

It has something less, compared to other competitors, as regards the prototyping phase. For example, it is convenient to create layouts with Sketch and then interactions and animations with other software, such as XD or InVision. Few possibilities of insertion for touch gestures. "Sketch just keeps getting better after all these years"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sketch?

I love how well designed Sketches implementation of Symbols/Components is. It's much better than the competition for working on design systems in large enterprises with a lot of users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sketch?

Because Sketch has been around for a long time, it's starting to feel like it is carrying a lot of older UI baggage from the early days. The tool is not as easy to use as the competition when it comes to the right-hand info panels of the UI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sketch was good once but its reluctance to change is costing it"
2/5
What do you like best about Sketch?

Sketch app has great capabilities in designing and maintaining components and libraries. The way, multiple libraries can be managed and used in a single file is great. In components, I also loved the simplicity Sketch provides to allow swapping/replacing one component with another. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sketch?

While Sketch has great capabilities but its first-mover advantage can't win all the races. I am forced to compare Sketch with Figma and XD. There are a lot of reasons why I have hated Sketch in the 2 years that I had to use it before switching to Figma.

1. Its limited scope to MacOS prevents non-designer teammates (writers, PMs, leaders) to collaborate with designers.

2. Poor/hidden prototyping capabilities force designers to depend on another tool (Invision) and for interactions, designers would look for another tool.

3. RAM hungry application. Sketch app would always make my MacbookPro a washing machine that makes a lot of noise. While handling a heavy file, I always had to quit all other apps.

4. Until one uses Auto-layout and Variants in Figma, they don't realize what they are missing. Sketch is missing this opportunity also to make designers' job easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Sketch?

The upsides of Sketch are that the product features and maturity are very high. We use it internally here and it's been excellent in keeping up with the pace of the changing product design environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sketch?

It lacks a very critical feature that I know they've made efforts at resolving, which is real-time collaboration. As we continue to WFH, remote teams have a big need to do co-creation and collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
