"Powerful Content Management with Easy Updates and Versioning"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is that it helps our team manage website content from one central place. As a Sitecore developer, I use it regularly to create and maintain components, templates, renderings, and content for websites. It makes content updates easier and helps keep pages consistent. I also like Sitecore's versioning feature because it allows us to track content changes, view previous versions, and restore content if needed. Reusable components save development time since the same component can be used on multiple pages. Features like workflows and personalization also help our team manage content more efficiently and create better experiences for website users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

One drawback of Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is that it can be expensive, especially for smaller companies. Another challenge is migrating from Sitecore XP to XM Cloud, which can take a lot of planning, redevelopment, and testing. The migration process could be easier if Sitecore provided more tools and guidance to help teams move their solutions more efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful CMS with Great Reusability and flexible customization"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

I appreciate Sitecore for its flexibility and customizable features. I like that you can create all the required components and templates and then easily reuse them for other purposes or across different websites. In addition, with its content management capabilities and SXA, it becomes easier for other developers or maintenance teams to develop, maintain, and update sites over time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

One drawback of using Sitecore is that its community is relatively small, so when issues come up it can be difficult to find answers or practical examples in forum discussions. In those situations, reaching out to the Sitecore support team often becomes necessary. At the same time, Sitecore can be tough for a new developer to learn, because you need to get comfortable with many different concepts and tools before you can start building anything with real confidence. "Faster Content Publishing with Drag and Drop and Reusable Components"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

Honestly, the thing that's made the biggest difference for us is how much faster our content team can move once they're trained on it. The drag-and-drop editing and reusable content components mean we're not rebuilding pages from scratch every time we need a new campaign page or landing page. It's also nice that non-technical marketers can make updates on their own without needing a developer every time, which has freed up our dev team to focus on bigger projects instead of small content tweaks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

If I'm being honest, the cost is the first thing that comes to mind. Between licensing, hosting, and the need for skilled implementation partners, it's a significant investment, especially in the first year or two. Documentation can also be hit or miss. some areas are well covered, but for more advanced customizations, we've often had to rely on trial and error or reach out to our implementation partner for guidance rather than finding clear answers ourselves. "Centralized Control with Local Flexibility - Sitecore Fits Right Into Our Stack"
5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I appreciate most is how it brings structure to a large, complex web presence without making things rigid. We manage a lot of content across different teams, and Sitecore gives us a clear framework for organizing, approving, and publishing that content while still letting each team move at their own pace. The personalization features are also a highlight being able to tailor experiences for different audience segments without needing a separate tool has made our campaigns feel more targeted and effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

The initial setup and configuration take a fair amount of time and expertise to get right. We had to lean on outside consultants early on because some of the more advanced features weren't intuitive to configure on our own. Licensing costs can also add up quickly as you scale to more sites or add modules, which makes it a harder sell for smaller teams or tighter budgets. And while the platform is powerful, some of the admin interfaces feel a bit dated compared to newer competitors, which can slow down day-to-day content work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

We're glad to hear that Sitecore's centralized control and local flexibility have been beneficial for your organization. Our goal is to provide a platform that streamlines content management while still allowing for personalization and agility. We understand that the initial setup and licensing costs can be challenging, and we're continuously working to improve the user experience and provide cost-effective solutions for all team sizes.

"Reliable, Scalable Platform for Unified Content and Personalization"
5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I find most helpful about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is its ability to deliver personalized customer experiences across multiple digital channels from a single platform. It brings together content management, marketing automation, analytics, and personalization, which makes it easier to create targeted experiences for different users and audiences. Overall, this can improve customer engagement and conversion rates while giving marketers and content teams the flexibility to manage everything efficiently.

Upsides of using Sitecore DXP include delivering personalized content based on user behavior and preferences, centralized content management for websites and other digital channels, and built-in analytics to understand customer interactions and optimize experiences. It also supports marketing automation and campaign management, scales well for large enterprises with complex digital needs, and integrates easily with CRM, ERP, and other third-party systems. On top of that, it provides a secure and flexible platform with cloud deployment options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

One thing that’s less helpful about Sitecore is its steep learning curve. Because it offers so many features—such as personalization, analytics, and marketing automation—it can take time for new users and developers to feel comfortable with the platform. It can also be expensive to implement and maintain, so it’s usually a better fit for large enterprises than for smaller organizations.

Downsides of using Sitecore DXP include a steep learning curve for new users and developers, high licensing, implementation, and maintenance costs, and the need for experienced developers and administrators. Customizations can also become complex and time-consuming, and performance optimization requires careful planning, especially for large implementations. Finally, upgrades and migrations may take significant effort when the solution is heavily customized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

We understand your concerns about the learning curve and cost associated with Sitecore DXP. We continuously work to improve user experience and offer support resources to help users navigate the platform more effectively. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we'll take it into consideration for future enhancements.

"Delivering Consistent and Personalized Customer Experiences"
5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is its ability to combine content management, personalization, and customer data into a single platform. It makes it easier to deliver consistent, tailored digital experiences across multiple channels while giving marketing teams the flexibility to manage content without relying heavily on developers. The built-in analytics and personalisation capabilities also help organisations better understand user behaviour and create more engaging customer experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

One downside of Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is that it has a steep learning curve, especially for new users. Initial setup, customization, and maintenance can be complex and often require experienced developers. The platform can also be resource-intensive, and licensing and implementation costs may be high for smaller organizations. While it offers extensive features, getting the most out of them usually requires significant planning and technical expertise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Content Management and Personalization in One Powerful Platform"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is that it provides a complete solution for managing digital experiences from a single platform. The user interface is well organized and intuitive, making it easier for content authors, marketers, and developers to collaborate and manage content efficiently.

Its integration capabilities are a major strength. Sitecore connects well with third-party systems such as CRM, analytics, marketing automation, payment gateways, and enterprise applications, allowing organizations to build a unified digital ecosystem without extensive custom development.

From a performance perspective, Sitecore offers strong scalability and reliability, making it suitable for high-traffic enterprise websites. Features such as content caching, CDN support, and cloud deployment help deliver fast and consistent user experiences.

Although the licensing cost can be significant, the return on investment is strong for organizations that leverage its full capabilities. The ability to centralize content management, personalize customer experiences, and automate marketing efforts reduces operational overhead and improves customer engagement, delivering long-term business value.

The support resources, documentation, and onboarding process are comprehensive. The active partner ecosystem and community make it easier to find implementation guidance, best practices, and solutions to technical challenges.

Another standout feature is Sitecore's AI and intelligence capabilities. AI-powered personalization, audience segmentation, content recommendations, and customer insights help deliver relevant experiences based on user behavior. These intelligent features enable marketers to optimize campaigns, improve engagement, and make data-driven decisions without relying solely on manual analysis.

Overall, Sitecore Digital Experience Platform stands out because it combines an intuitive user experience, extensive integration options, enterprise-grade performance, measurable business value, reliable support, and AI-driven personalization into a single, scalable platform for delivering exceptional digital experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

While Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is a powerful enterprise solution, there are a few areas that could be improved. The user interface, although feature-rich, has a learning curve, especially for new content authors and administrators. Some workflows require multiple steps, which can make routine content management less intuitive than expected.

Integrations are generally strong, but configuring and maintaining them often requires specialized expertise. Custom integrations with third-party systems can become complex, increasing implementation time and maintenance effort.

Performance is excellent when properly optimized, but large implementations may require careful infrastructure planning, caching strategies, and ongoing performance tuning. Without proper optimization, page load times and content publishing can occasionally be slower than desired.

Pricing is one of the biggest drawbacks. Sitecore's licensing, implementation, and maintenance costs can be high, making it less accessible for small and mid-sized organizations. Achieving the best ROI often depends on fully utilizing its advanced features, which may not be practical for every business.

Support is generally reliable, but response times for complex technical issues can sometimes be slower than expected. The onboarding process also requires a significant investment in training, as the platform's extensive capabilities can be overwhelming for new users.

The AI and intelligence features are valuable, but some advanced capabilities require additional configuration, licensing, or integration with other Sitecore products to unlock their full potential. There is also room for improvement in making AI-driven recommendations more transparent and easier to configure for non-technical users.

Overall, Sitecore is a robust enterprise DXP, but its complexity, higher cost, and learning curve can present challenges, particularly for organizations without dedicated technical resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

"A Strong Choice for Organizations Managing Complex Websites"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

One of the biggest advantages I've experienced with Sitecore DXP is its flexibility in managing digital experiences across multiple websites from a single platform. The page-building tools allow marketing teams to update content without relying heavily on developers, which speeds up campaign launches. I also appreciate the personalization capabilities that help deliver more relevant content to different audience segments. The platform's integration options with external systems make it easier to maintain a connected digital ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

The platform has a noticeable learning curve, especially for new users who are unfamiliar with Sitecore's interface and architecture. Initial implementation and configuration require experienced technical resources, and ongoing maintenance can become resource-intensive. Licensing and infrastructure costs may also be difficult to justify for organizations with smaller budgets or less complex digital requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Complex to Learn, Powerful to Use"
5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

Honestly, what stands out most is the personalization — it pulls data from everywhere and actually uses it to shape real, tailored experiences across a whole customer journey, not just surface-level tweaks.

It’s also nice that once it’s set up, marketers and content folks can run with it without needing a developer for every little change. And the shift to XM Cloud (headless, cloud-native) has made building and shipping stuff way faster.

The catch: setup is genuinely a pain and needs real technical help. It’s not plug-and-play. But for Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

The complexity is the biggest headache. It’s packed with features, but that also means it’s genuinely hard to learn and manage — there’s a real ramp-up period before your team feels comfortable in it.

Pricing bugs people too. There’s no public pricing at all you have to go through sales just to get a number and once you’re in, licensing plus implementation and support costs add up fast. Rough if you’re a smaller business.

A few other recurring complaints:

Migrating from another system (or even between Sitecore’s own products) is a legit project, not a weekend task .You basically need specialized Sitecore developers, not just any dev team .Training and documentation lag behind the features, so a lot of people never Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust, Scalable Personalization and Content Management with Sitecore"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is a robust and flexible platform for managing digital content and delivering personalized experiences across multiple channels. We love the extensive content management, personalization features, scalability and integrations that make it easy for teams to create consistent and engaging customer experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

The biggest downside is that Sitecore can be difficult to implement, configure and maintain, particularly for teams who don’t have a lot of Sitecore experience.
