"Excellent DXP with Strong Personalization Features"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

Among the many attributes of the Sitecore digital experience platform, I value flexibility and the ability to customize the tools according to specific needs and objectives. DXP’s adaptability makes it highly efficient in developing and managing enterprise websites as it helps to meet particular business goals. I appreciate its capabilities to create and organize multiple sites with separate but integrated content and personalize the online experience for different users, which helps reach individual goals and improve satisfaction.

I find this platform beneficial for building enterprise web presence as it offers multiple functions that allow working with complex projects. Among many features, I have found the ‘Experience Editor’ helpful to edit and view changes in real-time and see the results before saving and publishing the page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

One of the significant challenges I faced while working with Sitecore DXP was its complexity. At the same time, it is an enterprise-level solution, meaning that it is designed to address complex requirements and needs. Therefore, users unfamiliar with the platform and its intricacies may find it hard to understand at the initial stages of engagement. For example, it may take some time to learn how to manage and organize content in various environments and synchronize items between them. However, once one gains sufficient experience and becomes accustomed to the platform, working with it becomes significantly easier, and one can utilize all of its features to their advantage. "Extensible Yet Challenging to Implement Platform"
5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

I really like the extensibility of the Sitecore Digital Experience Platform. It's very extensive and flexible, letting you build pretty much anything and customize the platform as much as you want. Another important aspect is the passionate community of people who use Sitecore, which I find very supportive and always keen to help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

Number one is, for sure, license cost and the total cost of ownership, because the platform requires you to incur expensive hosting costs. Also, the implementation itself can be a challenge because it's very specific. Sitecore Digital Experience Platform doesn't have ContentSDK as SitecoreAI does, which I think is a big gap. It's not easy because it's heavy and depends on Docker and Windows Docker containers are still in an experimental phase, and it's not stable at all. It's very heavy to set up. It's normal that you have different bugs on different machines, and it demands a lot of SSD, CPU, and RAM. So it's not easy at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient and Connected - Great for Content, Search, and Personalization"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is how it brings content, data, and personalization together in one place. The authoring experience in XM Cloud is clean and simple, so content editors can get comfortable with it quickly without much training. It connects well with tools like Sitecore Search and Sitecore CDP, making it easier to manage search and customer data without relying on too many external tools. The AI capabilities built into XM Cloud also help speed up content creation and personalization decisions, saving our team a lot of manual effort. On top of that, once the environment is configured properly, performance stays fast and reliable even under heavy traffic. Overall, it feels like one complete platform rather than several disconnected tools stitched together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is that some parts still feel complex to set up and manage. The initial configuration for Sitecore CDP and Sitecore Stream takes a good amount of time and technical effort, especially for teams new to the platform. Integrations sometimes need custom work instead of being plug-and-play, which adds to development time. Performance can also drop if the environment isn't tuned well, so it needs constant monitoring. The AI capabilities inside Sitecore XM Cloud are useful but documentation around them isn't always detailed enough, which makes troubleshooting harder. And pricing can feel high for smaller teams, especially when you start adding modules like Search and CDP on top of the core platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid Enterprise CMS with Extensive Customization Options"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

The content architecture is genuinely solid once you understand it. Having templates, renderings, and the content tree separated cleanly makes it easy to reuse components across multiple sites and languages without duplicating work. On multilingual projects, the built-in language fallback and versioning saved a lot of manual effort that I'd otherwise have had to build myself.

SXA is a big time-saver too — scaffolding out page designs, partial designs, and component libraries means you're not starting from zero on every project. And the personalization engine (rules-based targeting, A/B testing) is powerful without needing a ton of custom code to wire up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

The upgrade path between major versions can be painful — moving from one XP version to the next often involves a fair amount of rework rather than a clean swap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

We're glad to hear that you find our content architecture solid and that our platform has been beneficial for managing content at scale across multiple sites, languages, and channels. We understand the challenges with the upgrade path between major versions and are continuously working to improve this process for our users.

"A Reliable Platform for Managing Complex Digital Experiences"
4/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I like best about Sitecore DXP is the flexibility it provides for managing complex websites while still giving developers plenty of room for customization. In our projects, content authors can update pages and reusable components without depending on developers for every small content change. At the same time, we have been able to integrate Sitecore with external systems such as payment services and Solr-based search. For example, when implementing new membership-related features, we can manage the website content in Sitecore while connecting with external APIs for the actual business processes. This separation makes it easier for both the development and content teams to work independently and maintain the platform as it grows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

One area I find challenging with Sitecore DXP is the complexity involved in setup, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Since the platform has multiple components and dependencies, a configuration issue can sometimes take longer than expected to diagnose. For example, we have faced situations where a search-related issue required checking Sitecore configuration, indexes, and Solr before identifying the actual cause. Upgrades can also require careful planning and testing, especially for larger solutions with custom integrations. Better diagnostic tools and simpler configuration management would make the overall developer experience smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

We appreciate your feedback on the challenges you've faced with setup, upgrades, and troubleshooting in Sitecore DXP. Your insights on the need for better diagnostic tools and simpler configuration management are valuable for us to improve the developer experience.

"A Solid Choice for Large-Scale Digital Experiences"
5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I like most about Sitecore is how easy it makes it to manage content while delivering personalized experiences across different channels. It integrates well with other enterprise systems, which helps keep everything connected and makes it much easier to deliver a consistent experience for users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

What I don't like is that Sitecore can take some time to get used to, especially if you're new to the platform. A few things feel more complicated than they need to be, and setting everything up or maintaining it can be a bit time-consuming. It's a powerful platform, but there's definitely a learning curve before you can use it confidently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

We're glad to hear that you find Sitecore's content management and personalization capabilities beneficial for delivering consistent experiences across different channels. "Enterprise-grade CMS with best-in-class personalization capabilities"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

Over the past few years, I've been working with Sitecore DXP to manage website content and support digital experience initiatives. My day-to-day work has included updating and publishing content, working with reusable components, collaborating with developers and marketing teams, and making sure pages are accurate, user-friendly, and optimized for SEO. One thing I really like about Sitecore is how it makes it easier to manage content while also supporting personalization and delivering a consistent experience across different channels. It's a powerful platform that helps teams work more efficiently and create better digital experiences for users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

A negative aspect of Sitecore DXP includes the price of it because the licenses and maintenance might be costly. The other disadvantage is the inability to see what changes were done for a particular content item despite seeing the name of the user who made the changes. It would be useful to see what exact changes have been made for a content item. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

Thank you for sharing your feedback about Sitecore DXP. We understand that pricing and visibility of content changes are important considerations. We're continuously working to improve our offerings and appreciate your input as we strive to provide the best possible solutions for our customers.

"Reliable, Secure, and Built for Enterprise Scale"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

My favorite thing about Sitecore DXP is that it combines content management, personalization, and digital marketing in one solution. You can easily manage your content across all of your websites and channels, yet still provide your users with tailored experiences depending on their audience.

Another great thing about this product is that it’s flexible, has some excellent integration abilities, and scales extremely well to larger enterprise apps.

Pricing can be high, but for large-scale and multi-site implementations it still offers good value. Support and documentation are helpful, even if onboarding can be challenging at the beginning. The AI and personalization features also seem to be improving, and they help deliver better user experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

At the start, it was a little hard to understand the CMS. Also, because of its complexity, it’s difficult to find the issue, and it takes a longer time to fix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary of Sitecore Digital Experience...

"Unmatched capability for scaling up large digital platforms smoothly"
5/5
What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

Sitecore is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to enterprise-level content management. Its ability to scale across multiple global sites, languages, and channels seamlessly is a huge win for us. The security, multisite management, and flexibility it offers make it a highly reliable DXP for handling complex, large-scale digital architectures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?

The platform can sometimes feel quite heavy and slow, particularly on the backend if it hasn’t been perfectly optimized. Because it’s so feature-rich, the sheer complexity of the architecture means that troubleshooting performance issues or dealing with legacy configurations can take up a lot of development time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We understand that licensing costs can be a concern, and we continuously strive to provide value for our clients.
