## Sitecore Digital Experience Platform Reviews
  ### 1. Easy to use and customize. Great options to deliver personalised experiences

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dean O. | Senior .Net Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The backend user interface is easy to use for our marketing teams, both in terms of basic content creation as well as some of the more advanced features that allow authors to personalize elements to different audiences.
As a developer, extensibility is a real strength of the product. If something is not available out of the box, then the steps required to customise a new feature follow similar patterns across the platform. There is also a large community of developers who love the product and are happy to help with any issues.
One of the main selling points is the ability to profile users as they navigate the site, then be able to target content accordingly. With such a diverse volume of data contained within a site, anything that can be done to help the user find the information they require is a real benefit.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Over the last few years, there has been a large push to make the product more composable, but at the cost of further development of the original product. All products/features now come as new services or modules that need to be purchased at a significant cost. Whilst I appreciate they are a business and need to make returns on their investments, this leaves long standing customers who are not able to further invest; left with a product with less new features.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The product allows 100s of authors from within the university to easily create and manage pages within our website. It allows us to gather information about a users browsing behaviour and then personalise the content that we show them based on that data.

  ### 2. Build your dreams with ease

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank v. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore DXP exits out of multiple products and you can choose the product combinations that fits your needs. With all the different available starter kits it is easy to implement and easy to use for end users. As it is built based on MACH technology integrations are easy to add to the platform. We use Sitecore products frequently for our customers. When we get into a problem when developing, we can always reach out to the customer support desk and get any help that is needed.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

As in any SaaS product that works together with custom implementations, breaking changes sometimes happen. The good news is that together with product and support, we always find a good solution.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We help our customers executing efficient marketing campaigns with the help of the Sitecore DXP. In addition it is a great toolset for setting up very complex portals as well.

  ### 3. Sitecore DXP: Seamless Personalization and Content at Enterprise Scale

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madhu A. | Principal Enterprise Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is characterized by its ability to unify content, personalization, and data into a seamless ecosystem that serves both marketers and developers. It empowers organizations to deliver meaningful, behavior-driven digital experiences at scale while maintaining enterprise-grade flexibility, governance, and integration capabilities. Beyond the technology, the strength of the Sitecore community and continuous innovation make it more than just a platform — it’s a true experience-driven ecosystem.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

While I deeply value Sitecore DXP, one challenge from a Sitecore MVP perspective is its complexity — especially in traditional XP implementations. The learning curve can be steep for new teams, and infrastructure, licensing, and performance optimization require strong expertise to execute well. Upgrades and integrations can also demand significant planning and effort. Although Sitecore has made major strides toward simplification with its composable SaaS offerings, navigating the transition from legacy architectures to modern cloud-first models can still be demanding for organizations.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is solving the challenge of delivering unified, personalized customer experiences across multiple channels while connecting content, customer data, and analytics in one ecosystem. Many organizations struggle with siloed systems, fragmented customer journeys, and limited visibility into engagement performance — and that’s where Sitecore truly stands out. By enabling centralized content management, real-time personalization, and measurable experience optimization, it empowers teams to make data-driven decisions and deliver relevant experiences at scale. For me, this means I can help organizations move beyond basic content publishing toward strategic digital transformation, driving measurable business impact while aligning marketing and technology teams effectively.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Sitecore DXP! We are thrilled to hear that you find value in its ability to unify content, personalization, and data into a seamless ecosystem. The strength of the Sitecore community and continuous innovation are indeed key aspects of our platform.

  ### 4. Comprehensive, Flexible, and Scalable Platform for Digital Experience Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raman G. | Technical Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore is a complete platform with everything needed in one place. It has great content management features like workflows and version control. It also has powerful marketing features like marketing automation, forms, email campaigns, and personalization.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

- One problem with Sitecore DXP is that it can be very complicated, especially for new users.
- Setting up and customizing advanced features needs a lot of development work and can take time and money.
- Also, the cost of Sitecore licenses can be high, making it difficult for smaller companies with limited budgets to afford it.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a consultant and Sitecore architect, I have done many Sitecore projects for different clients. I helped customers use Sitecore to its maximum power. I gave many workshops to help marketers and content editors learn better and faster. I have used Sitecore personalization and marketing automation many times to improve customer experience.

  ### 5. Flexible, Open Platform with Minor Personalization Hurdles

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam W. | Chief Technology Officer, NA West, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I like the openness of the Sitecore Digital Experience Platform. It has been built as an open platform, easy to integrate with, and flexible for many different applications and application types. I appreciate that Sitecore is easy to set up and has been getting easier over time. Even though it has a lot of flexibility and features, it is still pretty quick for an initial setup.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The XP platform personalization tools seem overcomplicated and less straightforward than many of the competing platforms. They could have been built to better leverage industry standard tools that clients are already using for analytics and data collection instead of creating an entire new apparatus for that functionality.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sitecore Digital Experience Platform to manage content and digital assets centrally, expose content to multiple platforms, and create flexible, personalized UI components for web properties.

  ### 6. Highly Flexible and Robust, Perfect for Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob R. | Sitecore Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I love using the Sitecore Digital Experience Platform because it's always been great and very flexible. Customers really like it because you can do anything you want with it, and there's no limits. It's very robust and easy to set up, with various ways to do it, including using an installer or Docker. The setup guides are great for getting started. I also appreciate the platform's flexibility, especially when integrating with other tools or external systems like Salesforce. It's easy to get data in and out of Sitecore. I believe it can handle anything and consistently proves itself capable. There are always continuing improvements and exciting new AI features being added, which makes me confident in recommending Sitecore.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Maybe some more reporting tools would be good. They have them built in, but just a little bit more easier access with them I think would work.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Sitecore Digital Experience Platform very robust, flexible, and great for handling large datasets. It's easy to integrate with tools like Salesforce, and there are no limits to what we can do with it.

  ### 7. From Traditional CMS to XM Cloud: Sitecore Continues to Lead Digital Innovation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex L. | Senior Solution Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

What I appreciate most about Sitecore DXP is its unparalleled flexibility - if you can conceptualize a digital experience, Sitecore can deliver it. After 12 years as a solutions architect working with the platform, I've consistently found that Sitecore empowers both developers and end users to push creative boundaries without hitting technical limitations.

The personalization capabilities are exceptional, allowing us to create truly tailored experiences that drive real business results for our clients. But the real game changer has been XM Cloud - it's transformed how we approach implementations, offering the scalability and modern architecture that today's enterprises demand while maintaining all the power and flexibility that makes Sitecore unique.

What sets Sitecore apart is that it doesn't force you into a box. Whether it's complex integrations, custom functionality, or innovative user experiences, the platform adapts to your vision rather than limiting it.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The primary challenge with Sitecore DXP has traditionally been its learning curve and complexity. The platform's extensive capabilities can be overwhelming for newcomers, and it requires significant expertise to fully leverage its potential. This has sometimes meant longer onboarding times for new team members and higher initial investment in training.

However, I'm pleased to say this is becoming much less of an issue with XM Cloud and Sitecore's evolution toward SaaS platforms. The barrier to entry has been significantly lowered - setup and maintenance are much more streamlined, and the underlying technologies are more approachable for developers. The modern architecture makes it easier to get projects up and running without the heavy infrastructure overhead we used to deal with.

While the learning curve hasn't disappeared entirely, Sitecore's commitment to simplifying the developer and user experience is clearly paying off. What once required deep specialized knowledge is becoming more accessible to a broader range of technical professionals.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore DXP solves the fundamental challenge of delivering truly personalized, scalable digital experiences without compromising on flexibility or functionality. For our clients, this means they can create sophisticated, data-driven experiences that adapt to individual users while maintaining complete control over their digital ecosystem.

As a solutions architect, Sitecore enables me to say 'yes' to virtually any client requirement. Whether it's complex integrations, advanced personalization workflows, or innovative user experiences, I'm not constantly having to work around platform limitations or tell clients something isn't possible. This dramatically improves project success rates and client satisfaction.

The platform's robust personalization engine solves the problem of one-size-fits-all digital experiences, allowing our clients to deliver relevant content that drives engagement and conversions. With XM Cloud, we're also solving traditional deployment and maintenance headaches - the SaaS approach has eliminated much of the infrastructure complexity that used to slow down implementations.

From a business perspective, this translates to faster time-to-market for our clients, reduced total cost of ownership, and the ability to continuously evolve their digital presence without major platform migrations. For our agency, it means we can take on more ambitious projects and deliver exceptional results consistently.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We understand your concerns about the learning curve and complexity of Sitecore DXP, especially for new team members. We're pleased to hear that XM Cloud and our efforts to simplify the developer and user experience have made a positive impact. We are committed to further reducing barriers to entry and ensuring that the platform remains accessible to a broader range of technical professionals.

  ### 8. From Complexity to Simplicity: Sitecore DXP with XM Cloud

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore DXP strikes the perfect balance between power and simplicity. The ease of use for content authors has improved significantly, especially with XM Cloud’s modern authoring interface. The platform is extensible, making it easy to customize and integrate with enterprise systems. I also love the strong community of Sitecore MVPs, partners, and developers who constantly share best practices, accelerators, and innovations.

From a support standpoint, customer support has been responsive and knowledgeable, which makes a huge difference when running enterprise-grade digital experiences. The composable and modern architecture lets us adopt what we need—XM Cloud, CDP, Personalize, Content Hub—without being forced into a monolithic setup. Integrations are now easier thanks to API-first design and headless support. On top of that, the auto upgrade with XM Cloud has removed the burden of version upgrades, letting our teams focus on delivering value instead of worrying about infrastructure and patches.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The ecosystem is evolving quickly, which sometimes means there’s a learning curve with new products and features. However, the documentation and community support make up for it.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’re delivering personalized, scalable, multi-site, and multi-language experiences with faster time to market. The ability to integrate with CRMs, analytics, and commerce platforms seamlessly has allowed us to build unified customer journeys. With XM Cloud’s auto upgrades, our operational overhead is reduced, and our teams can focus on content and optimization rather than maintenance.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that the evolving ecosystem may present a learning curve with new products and features, but we're continuously working on improving our documentation and community support to assist users in navigating these changes.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

  ### 10. Sitecore is the right choice to help maximize your digital investment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vickie B. | Senior Solution Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

As a professional who has been using and implementing their product suite for over 15 years, I have been witness to Sitecore's transformation into a content management powerhouse. Their tools are robust and reliable, with a host of connectors to make integrating a breeze, and the ability to customize anything you can dream. With a vast community of professionals at your fingertips, you don't have to rely just on their support team to get answers to some of your more complex challenges.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Because the platform has so many features and can be uniquely customized for pretty much any use, there is a heavy dependency on technical resources who are trained in Sitecore to execute and maintain the system. This is definitely not the platform for you if you're into DIY projects. The learning curve is steep, but it's worth it.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary problem we come across with clients is that rapid organizational growth over time, or mergers/acquisitions, have resulted in disjointed, disorganized content. Sitecore provides excellent solutions for centralizing content, making it easier to manage, find, and distribute across multiple channels (even in multiple languages). It pretty much pays for itself in workflow efficiencies and building consistent messaging across digital platforms (i.e. brand trust).

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We're delighted to hear how Sitecore Digital Experience Platform has helped centralize and manage content for your clients, resulting in workflow efficiencies and consistent messaging across digital platforms. Thank you for sharing the specific benefits you've experienced!

  ### 17. Future-proof omnichannel DXP Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna P. | Key Account Manager, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The key benefit of Sitecore DXP has always been personalisation, both with on-premise soltion Sitecore XP, but also with headless SaaS platform Sitecore XM Cloud. The users leverace personalize features directly in the platform, with possibility to extend these with Sitecore Personalize.

I really enjoy the modern UX/UI of Sitecore XM Cloud offering WYSIWYG editor for content management, simply switching between versions, languages and devices. I was nicely surprised with Drag & Drop functionality that allows me as a user to create a custom component or a form.

A big plus is security and high speed of deployments, it only takes a short while compared to what we experienced in the past. Also, no more painful upgrades, as the new features are added by Sitecore on a regular basis. Adding the AI-features on top of the platfrom puts Sitecore XM Cloud among the best CMS currently available on the market.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Onboarding on the platform can take some time, but once it is done with a reliable partner it the usage of the platform becomes rather easy and can save time once the workflows are set up well.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore DXP helps enterprise sized customers to create, manage and deliver personalized content across their digital channels. Sitecore DXPs works well when integrated with other platforms from the Sitecore portfolio unlocking wider features and further synergies (e.g. digital asset management and operations with Sitecore Conten Hub). Doing so the customer achieves the ROI earlier.

Our agency supports the client during the whole end-to-end project and helps with planning, implementation, support and onboarding of the clients on the platform, we have seen improvements in the Sitecore XMC product, bringing more features for the clients and allowing them to advance on their digital transformation road and achieving their goals. I get to work with the products, our website is running on Sitecore XP. I observed that Sitecore XM Cloud has been missing some of the features in the beginning, but now it became fully-fledged CMS, and I enjoy working with it.

  ### 19. Powerful and flexible, but has a learning curve

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I've been working with Sitecore as a developer and consultant for more than 10 years. The platform has grown significantly during this time while retaining its core strengths: an extensive feature set and a wide range of customisation options. It allows you to build almost anything and integrate the DXP with any other platform or service (CRM, PIM, DAM, CPQ, SSO, Search, mailing services, etc) .
Additionally, my experience with Sitecore technical support has always been positive. The support team is responsive and effective, especially when provided with all the necessary information upfront.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The flexibility and complexity of Sitecore DXP can present a steep learning curve for new developers, content authors, and marketers. This initial challenge can make implementing custom functionality or leveraging advanced features feel slow and overwhelming at first. However, as users become familiar with the platform’s core principles, the process becomes more intuitive and straighforward.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Content management for global companies, especially when they have multiple content teams in different regions.
Custom workflow processes tailored to company's specific needs.
Content restrictions for CMS users and roles, as well as protected website areas and portal for the front-end users.
Ability to build flexible and engaging content pages from the library of reusable components, without the need to involve development teams.
Creating targeted pages and components for speific user segments by using conditional personalisation rules.

  ### 20. Industry leading DXP, extremely customisable, with both on-prem and SaaS options

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore is an extremely custmization and highly scalable DXP. This allows you to customise the product to to meet your own needs and meet the goals of the business. There are a numfer of ways to make integrations easy, including powerful modules like PowerShell Extensions.

With experience, implementations are much easier and time to market can be low with the correct processes in place (such as good continuous integration pipelines). The multisite features also allow good re-usuability, esp for microsites. The options for content modelling, navigation and content re-usability are also appreciated by developers and business users alike.

Sitecore has an extremely strong community, who are always sharing their knowledge and experiences, as well as there being many open source modules and integrations available. The community is very friendly and always willing to help.

In many ways it was ahead of its time, both the Platform DXP and the SaaS XM Cloud solution. We are seeing many other headless cms now introduce visual editing and personalisation features now for example, something that has been a core part fo the Sitecore DNA for a very long time.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

It takes experience and time to gain the expertise to understand the product. Without a good partner or that prior experience, it can be difficult to work with the product, and there are bad implementations as a result which give the product a bad rep. You also have to put a lot of though into customisations, to fully appreciate how that may affect your future upgrades.

Upgrades have also been painful in the past, that this has vastly improved in the past for the on-prem DXP. With the new XM Cloud product, this is no longer a problem since it is a SaaS solution.

The Visual Editor on the On-Prem version is very dated now and needs a revamp. The SaaS product has a modern editng UI, and this needs to be ported/made available to the on-prem instance.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work as an agency partner, but for our customers they are trying to solve 3 problems most often: creating and maintaining their website without the need for developers to make the changes; be able to create microsites and campaign sites quickly and easily; be able to empower their marketers to create personalized experiences.

  ### 21. Tools that empower business & their users to do more with its decoupled nature

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

As a techno sales person, i see product from both the perspective, Any i have been into those discussion with customers too "Why to use sitecore"?

and that is where i strongly bealive Sitecore's enterprise level features and implimentation comes in, and with ease of different product talking to each other be it commerce / content / omni channel experience

that flexibility all in one and pay for what you use wins my mind and makes everything sitecore native.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I feel still there are some of the underlaying products going through the maturity phase and for the same reason it becomes very hard to impliment or takes lot of time

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FIrst and foremost is the content is at the center, and with products like content hub opens up world and gets you that central repository for your assets, Products like CDP is giving 360 view of a customer and on top of it if personalization will drive that omni channel connected experience and that is where whole world is moving and with sitecore it just gives our customer that experience.

  ### 22. With great power comes great responsibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason W. | Associate Tech Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore is, and has pretty much always been, a CMS/DXP powerhouse, allowing you to do whatever you need to do, or customise it so that you can. If you're hosting your own instance of Sitecore, the ability to add your own features is practically limitless. Everything from the core functionality to the user interface can be extended or overridden to your heart's content - though so much is included out of the box the need to customise these days can be fairly minimal depending on your implementation.
At this point in time, with composable forefront of everyone's mind, the Sitecore team have dialled-back on adding loads of new major features to the monolithic DXP in favour of other composable Sitecore products, while keeping the monolith easy to integrate with those other tools - particularly if you're familiar with customising Sitecore. They do, however, continue to add lots of handy little usability and performance improvements (just check the latest release notes for an example), as well as updates for Sitecore Experience Accelerator (which at this point, really every project should be using as it makes implementations much much easier).
Since v10 (and even v9 really) upgrades have been much more straightforward and less risky and even major releases (like 10.0) can be adopted without fear of endless major bugs, so I'd pretty confidently say there's no longer any need to stick on "n-1" like a lot of customers used to do out of fear.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

While the Sitecore team is getting better about being more prescriptive about recommended ways of customising sitecore and building sites, there are still only a few "best practices" around and it is very easy to shoot yourself in the foot with a product this complex. Working with a knowledgable Sitecore team or partner is a must.
Not only that, but now that most effort is on the SaaS "XM Cloud" it can sometimes be difficult to identify whether documentation is referring to the DXP or XMC and recommendations can sometimes be (or at least seem) conflicting.
Though it seems likely to change in the near future (ie more support will be added), when it comes to "headless" Sitecore has pushed hard for developers to use Next.JS, which somewhat limits those who may be more familiar with / want to use other languages like Angular or .NET Core.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore is a powerful DXP which allows us to:
* Store and organise massive amounts of content, of many different types (both text-based as well as media)
* Apply workflow to content to ensure it's reviewed and published only when ready
* Apply permissions and restrictions on access to both content as well as interface functionality
* Create and maintain multiple websites, whether they share components / content or only use their own
* Be accessible by dozens of authors, with login access controlled through a separate identity provider
* Easily be extended by developers to add custom logic (eg. when content is published)

  ### 23. Robust CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda S. | Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Our university has 100+ websites and users to manage, and Sitecore is robust enough to handle them, with features that let us customize to the extent we need while keeping things simple.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

At times, things can take a while to load, or get stuck with bugs. Some things are not as intuitive as they could be.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's one of the few CMSs, in my experience, that can handle the volume we need.

  ### 24. Sitecore and I have a long term relationship...

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos R. | Sitecore Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore as a platform provides a unique combination of tools which can be leveraged by content managers, marketers, back-end and front-end developers to create a truly interactive and immersive web-site designed to capture, analyze and respond to customer needs. They have been improving ease of implementation by providing a SaaS option so focus can be increased on web-site development and marketing analysis. By being increasingle composable and supporting a head-less architecture, the product is striving to provide an ala carte means of customizing a solution to meet the needs of its clients. I will say that while it may not always be easy to implement, it is rather consistent in its approach to providing a solution. So once you get it, you get it! The product is supported by not just a partner network of technology consulting firms, but also by a robust Sitecore user and development community who work diligently together to help plow the way forward on how to best utitlize the product.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sometimes the problem with a robust product is that can be complicated. Because Sitecore has been rather consistent for many years now in how to work with it, even as it makes significant changes, it can still require a learning curve to figure out how to use all aspects of the product. But like I said earlier... Once you got it, you got it !

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a consultant, it is assisting me with providing to my client(s), a robust content management platform which can be used to not only host a site, but through thorough analysis of its how the site is used by customers. The platform provides a good deal of flexibility to allow the site owners to pivot as needs require.

  ### 25. The best Digital Experience Platform I've worked ever

**Reviewed by:** Jatin P. | Sr. Solution Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I liked the extensibility of the Sitecore DXP which allows me to integrate any service I want. That do not need me to use only Sitecore provided services, but I can integrate any non-Sitecore product with th Sitecore Composable stack. They way Sitecore CMS works, is really easy to use for content authors, developers and marketers. The implementation of the Sitecore is really easy with .NET as backend and Next.js based JSS application for the front-end. My most of the projects are on the Sitecore XM Cloud. The Sitcore Customer Support really cool. We get the response timely and most of the resolutions are satisfactory.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

As of now I do not see any dislikes for Sitecore DXP.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Sitecore DXP, we are helping clients to have their web application reach to the maximum number of relevant users.

  ### 26. The proper choice for your tech team

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

As a developer, what I like the most about Sitecore as a Digital Experience Platform is its flexibility to create custom components for the pages via Razor Views. It's possible to implement complex features, such as integrating the platform with third-party systems to collect and send data.

Also, since Sitecore is built on Microsoft technologies, many developers are already familiar with .NET (C#, Asp.Net MVC, SQL Server, etc) which reduces the learning curve and promotes faster onboarding.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The documentation sometimes is incomplete or vague which can lead to delays in development as developers need to spend time troubleshooting issues or exploring alternative solutions that should ideally be covered in the official documentation.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore as a Content Management System provides good management and organization of our website resources (Content, Images, Files, etc).

  ### 27. Adjustable and Expandable System for Digital Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gautam B. | Senior Technology Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore is a platform that offers many things in one spot. It provides strong tools for handling digital content and experiences. You can pick the features that suit your needs. Most tools are SAAS-based and can connect easily with other systems. In my opinion, Content Hub is the top module, it is user-friendly and integrates nicely with other systems.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The Sitecore documentation needs work. At times, it lacks detail, making it hard to grasp the products. The licensing fees are quite high, which might not be affordable for smaller companies.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It assists in resolving problems of content management which enables content autors to disseminate, create and manage content quickly. This also makes it easier for teams and improves the experience of end-users.

  ### 28. Full of features and extremely flexible

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gert G. | Senior .Net Architect & Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

After being involved in many implementations on top of the Sitecore DXP I can say that it is a very flexible tool that allows the implementation partner to deliver whatever is needed. It has many features out-of-the-box, and has a tremendous community that has delivered support and examples for anything you might need.

The flexibility is not only feature wise, but also architectural as you can host the platform as you want or even have it hosted by Sitecore for you.

Once you know the platform, basic integrations can go pretty fast and because of the flexibility are usual easy to maintain.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

There is an initial learning curve for technical people to get to know the product and learn the best practices. If not implemented with those best practices in mind, it can end up slow or not user friendly for editors - although that is not the product but more the integrator.

As you do have so many options now to create the website, especially if you go headless, there is nothing bad to be said on that topic.

For the editors, some improvements can be made though. It is sometimes said the editing environment is rather slow. Or the overload of features makes it difficult for users that really just want to edit content. The new editing environment on the cloud version might be the answer to that.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore DXP has helped our customer to create multiple websites easily and manage their content effectively. Due to the flexibility and many features the platform was able to handle all kinds of web applications and integrate with all sorts of other applications and platforms.

  ### 29. A solid and proven product that is trending in the right direction

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily L. | Project Manager, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The new Pages editor in XM Cloud is very performant and easy for content editors to use. Sitecore has taken care to write many native integrations between their products, as well as across third party products using Sitecore Connect. The product roadmap is trending in a good direction with Sitecore's new executive leadership, including smart incorporation of AI in their Intelligent DXP. They have also added support of additional front-end frameworks other than Next, which will expand implementation options. Siteore continues to work on the XP product, which means that customers are not being pushed to move to XM Cloud if they do not wish to.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The pricing is still cost-prohibitive for most clients, especially when upgrading/migrating from a legacy licensing model to newer licensing models. Sitecore has been a little slower to adopt AI, and how exactly AI has been incorporated into the product suite so far. The XP product is very server-heavy and tends to run pretty slowly. Support has been historically slow.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore is solving many content problems by offering robust tools (like a CMS and DAM) that integrate and perform well. These problems are related to front-end users (disjointed experiences and messaging) and for content admins (disjointed and slow content workflows).

  ### 31. Among best in class, widely used and a personal favorite

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sebastian W. | Chief Technology Officer, Nordics & External Lecturer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore DXP is a feature rich platform with its core centred around content management, belonging to a portfolio of products that can be orchestrated in a coherent architecture covering the aspects of what would be considered an online presence be it public facing websites, e-commerce solutions, campaign sites, mobile apps, extranets such as member sites, customer portals, intranets and so forth. It is widely used globally and have implementations covering from one end of the scal eto the other in terms of business complexity.

It is fully capable of scaling and with its strong characteristics of being flexible, interoperable and extendable combined with the even stronger focus on ease of use and editorial enablement it is a fit for both the Enterprise and SME market alike – I have done several projects on either end of the scale both 20 years ago and now.

I have built and be involved in more web-based project than I care to count through the last 20 years, not all but most of them based on Sitecore and even if there are many platforms, that most likely also could have been up for the task, Sitecore has still been my personal preference. The feature richness, the elegant support of multi-lingual and multitenant solutions, it’s openness in relation to integrations, it’s overall performance and flexibility enabling you to do practical anyting in terms of implementation, only being limited by your own skills and imagination combined with the constant further development of the platform are all important and strong factors to this preference.

Furthermore, it offers the option of choosing the infrastructure that suits the organization best as its base, be it a SaaS solution, an on-prem or hosted by a third party.

Naturally, there are things that could be different, improved etc. But the platform has never been a hinderance for any of the solutions I have been involved in, in reaching the goal it has been set out to help achieve and support. In fact, I would probably first be genuinely concerned if I ever worked with a platform without opinions on how and what to improve.

I can only recommend Sitecore as a potential - and I am also certain very good and fitting – candidate when evaluating which system your next digital experience project should be based on. Always happy to discuss pro’s/con’s and sharing perspectives.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Even though it is mostly positive the flexibility and openness can become cumbersome if the implemenation is made by people not understanding the platform, this can lead to poor implementation choices, making it cumbersome and expensive to maintain and further develop even though it did not have to be that way. However, my experience is that this goes for Sitecore DXP and competitors alike.

Otherwise, it is mostly feature parity and support when choosing alternate technologies than the ones in primary focus, where I would sometimes wish that the gaps were closed faster.

But neither of these would hold me back from considering Sitecore for a DXP project based on Microsofts tech stack. Nor would cost, which is often pointed out Sitecore being a license-based system, since what is provided for that cost far superseed it in the projects I have seen/been involved in my opinion.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A multitude of different problems, depending on the project being implemented - anything from just structuring and presenting content to increase engagement of members, boost ecommerce sales, increase customer loyalty and/or employee satisfaction, automating processes, drive communication etc. The list is practically endless.

  ### 32. A solid flexible and evolving foundation for the past 2 decades

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anders L. | Principal Software Development Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I have worked with Sitecore for the past 18 years and I have yet to come across a requirement or use-case that I could not fulfil through the flexibility of the platform.

Even though Sitecore hasn't marketed itself as composable before this became an industry buzzword - the platform has always been designed for composability in large scale solution setups and when knowing it's possibilities anything can be integrated, benefitting from the unique layout engine and editor flexibility.

The stability of the platform and api is second to none in the industry and even after being on the market for 20+ years, the core platform of Sitecore DXP has kept evolving while still remaining familiar and well-known to us industry dinosaurs who has worked with it since the early days.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

There is little that I dislike about the core platform itself while some initiatives with a lot of potential has received too little care along the way I see it mostly as Sitecore being too far ahead of the market at that time for these initiatives to really blossom.

During the years I have come across projects where the platform has been blamed for the discourse of the projects.

When looking closer into how the project has been developed on top of the platform it becomes clear that it was not the platform itself that was to blame but the implementation on top or simply expectations or promises set or made by consultants that wasn't kept.

Even though I have yet to come across a use-case that I could not fulfil with Sitecore, the platform itself does not make you coffee of the box without integrating another system that can do that. Solution architecture and composability has always been key to a succesful Sitecore project which I see as a positive. I dislike some of the initiatives that Sitecore chose along the way to guard-rail for these poor implementations. Luckily this is now in the past and focus is again back on track to keep Sitecore DXP a market leader for another 20+ years.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore DXP provide a solid foundation with a well-known framework for developers that remains flexible even though the editor experience can be tailored to the solution specific needs. The flexibility that the DXP platform combined with the stability over the years while also supporting the latest tech stacks has been phenomonal. There is no other product on the market with the same proven track record that remain competitive.

  ### 33. Sitecore - Platform or SaaS - Can't Go Wrong!

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

With almost 10 years of experience building enterprise experiences with Sitecore, it is still the best DXP on the market. The best thing about Sitecore is they listen to their customers and deliver exactly what they need. If you need to have your whole marketing stack on 1 platform you can host on-prem or on-cloud well Sitecore has you covered until at LEAST 2030. Flexibility and support are key pillars to their success. So much so they offer a composable DXP if you do not have those constraints and want a SaaS environment without manual upgrades. They are always adding features and refining interfaces, with the SaaS route you will see these automatically updated. Either route you choose, you will have a solid DXP that can scale with any frequency of use.

Any product you choose is very easy to use and Sitecore is always available through their ticketing system. For additional assistance, Technical Account Managers (TAMs) at Sitecore can provide assistance for the easiest implementation. They recently added their Connect product to XP further making integrations easier than ever!
