## Sitecore Digital Experience Platform Reviews
  ### 1. Extensible Yet Challenging to Implement Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo P. | Country Head in Brazil at Arke, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I really like the extensibility of the Sitecore Digital Experience Platform. It's very extensive and flexible, letting you build pretty much anything and customize the platform as much as you want. Another important aspect is the passionate community of people who use Sitecore, which I find very supportive and always keen to help.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Number one is, for sure, license cost and the total cost of ownership, because the platform requires you to incur expensive hosting costs. Also, the implementation itself can be a challenge because it's very specific. Sitecore Digital Experience Platform doesn't have ContentSDK as SitecoreAI does, which I think is a big gap. It's not easy because it's heavy and depends on Docker and Windows Docker containers are still in an experimental phase, and it's not stable at all. It's very heavy to set up. It's normal that you have different bugs on different machines, and it demands a lot of SSD, CPU, and RAM. So it's not easy at all.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I help marketing teams use Sitecore Digital Experience Platform to achieve their objectives with campaigns, personalization, and integrating with their software stack.

  ### 2. Sitecore DXP: Seamless Personalization and Content at Enterprise Scale

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madhu A. | Principal Enterprise Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is characterized by its ability to unify content, personalization, and data into a seamless ecosystem that serves both marketers and developers. It empowers organizations to deliver meaningful, behavior-driven digital experiences at scale while maintaining enterprise-grade flexibility, governance, and integration capabilities. Beyond the technology, the strength of the Sitecore community and continuous innovation make it more than just a platform — it’s a true experience-driven ecosystem.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

While I deeply value Sitecore DXP, one challenge from a Sitecore MVP perspective is its complexity — especially in traditional XP implementations. The learning curve can be steep for new teams, and infrastructure, licensing, and performance optimization require strong expertise to execute well. Upgrades and integrations can also demand significant planning and effort. Although Sitecore has made major strides toward simplification with its composable SaaS offerings, navigating the transition from legacy architectures to modern cloud-first models can still be demanding for organizations.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore Digital Experience Platform is solving the challenge of delivering unified, personalized customer experiences across multiple channels while connecting content, customer data, and analytics in one ecosystem. Many organizations struggle with siloed systems, fragmented customer journeys, and limited visibility into engagement performance — and that’s where Sitecore truly stands out. By enabling centralized content management, real-time personalization, and measurable experience optimization, it empowers teams to make data-driven decisions and deliver relevant experiences at scale. For me, this means I can help organizations move beyond basic content publishing toward strategic digital transformation, driving measurable business impact while aligning marketing and technology teams effectively.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Sitecore DXP! We are thrilled to hear that you find value in its ability to unify content, personalization, and data into a seamless ecosystem. The strength of the Sitecore community and continuous innovation are indeed key aspects of our platform.

  ### 3. Sitecore DXP- Creating Smarter Experiences Everywhere.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan M. | Senior Solutions Architect, Strategy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore DXP is robust, flexible, and highly scalable. With enough expertise, you can build virtually anything your client or customer wants. The hybrid composable suite of products and platforms allow businesses to start with a solid foundation with the CMS in SitecoreAI and connect and configure additional products as their digital maturity grows.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore products and platforms are not the right solution for every business. Strategy and implementation can be complicated and typically requires an experienced partner. Managing, maintaining, and fully leveraging these products to their full value can be too much for some businesses without the skills, budget, or bandwidth to realize the ROI.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm glad they're unifying and simplifying their product offerings. The number of products went from two to twelve down to roughly six and SAI, Content Hub DAM, CDP, and Personalize even come as a package with "entry level" products for customers to try and get started with before they commit to a long term license agreement. It's far better to do a handful of things exceedingly well than to do a dozen things halfway.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We're glad to hear that you find Sitecore DXP robust, flexible, and highly scalable. Our goal is to provide a platform that can meet the diverse needs of our clients and customers.

  ### 4. Comprehensive, Flexible, and Scalable Platform for Digital Experience Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raman G. | Technical Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore is a complete platform with everything needed in one place. It has great content management features like workflows and version control. It also has powerful marketing features like marketing automation, forms, email campaigns, and personalization.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

- One problem with Sitecore DXP is that it can be very complicated, especially for new users.
- Setting up and customizing advanced features needs a lot of development work and can take time and money.
- Also, the cost of Sitecore licenses can be high, making it difficult for smaller companies with limited budgets to afford it.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a consultant and Sitecore architect, I have done many Sitecore projects for different clients. I helped customers use Sitecore to its maximum power. I gave many workshops to help marketers and content editors learn better and faster. I have used Sitecore personalization and marketing automation many times to improve customer experience.

  ### 5. Flexible, Open Platform with Minor Personalization Hurdles

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam W. | Chief Technology Officer, NA West, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I like the openness of the Sitecore Digital Experience Platform. It has been built as an open platform, easy to integrate with, and flexible for many different applications and application types. I appreciate that Sitecore is easy to set up and has been getting easier over time. Even though it has a lot of flexibility and features, it is still pretty quick for an initial setup.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The XP platform personalization tools seem overcomplicated and less straightforward than many of the competing platforms. They could have been built to better leverage industry standard tools that clients are already using for analytics and data collection instead of creating an entire new apparatus for that functionality.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sitecore Digital Experience Platform to manage content and digital assets centrally, expose content to multiple platforms, and create flexible, personalized UI components for web properties.

  ### 6. From Traditional CMS to XM Cloud: Sitecore Continues to Lead Digital Innovation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex L. | Senior Solution Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

What I appreciate most about Sitecore DXP is its unparalleled flexibility - if you can conceptualize a digital experience, Sitecore can deliver it. After 12 years as a solutions architect working with the platform, I've consistently found that Sitecore empowers both developers and end users to push creative boundaries without hitting technical limitations.

The personalization capabilities are exceptional, allowing us to create truly tailored experiences that drive real business results for our clients. But the real game changer has been XM Cloud - it's transformed how we approach implementations, offering the scalability and modern architecture that today's enterprises demand while maintaining all the power and flexibility that makes Sitecore unique.

What sets Sitecore apart is that it doesn't force you into a box. Whether it's complex integrations, custom functionality, or innovative user experiences, the platform adapts to your vision rather than limiting it.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The primary challenge with Sitecore DXP has traditionally been its learning curve and complexity. The platform's extensive capabilities can be overwhelming for newcomers, and it requires significant expertise to fully leverage its potential. This has sometimes meant longer onboarding times for new team members and higher initial investment in training.

However, I'm pleased to say this is becoming much less of an issue with XM Cloud and Sitecore's evolution toward SaaS platforms. The barrier to entry has been significantly lowered - setup and maintenance are much more streamlined, and the underlying technologies are more approachable for developers. The modern architecture makes it easier to get projects up and running without the heavy infrastructure overhead we used to deal with.

While the learning curve hasn't disappeared entirely, Sitecore's commitment to simplifying the developer and user experience is clearly paying off. What once required deep specialized knowledge is becoming more accessible to a broader range of technical professionals.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore DXP solves the fundamental challenge of delivering truly personalized, scalable digital experiences without compromising on flexibility or functionality. For our clients, this means they can create sophisticated, data-driven experiences that adapt to individual users while maintaining complete control over their digital ecosystem.

As a solutions architect, Sitecore enables me to say 'yes' to virtually any client requirement. Whether it's complex integrations, advanced personalization workflows, or innovative user experiences, I'm not constantly having to work around platform limitations or tell clients something isn't possible. This dramatically improves project success rates and client satisfaction.

The platform's robust personalization engine solves the problem of one-size-fits-all digital experiences, allowing our clients to deliver relevant content that drives engagement and conversions. With XM Cloud, we're also solving traditional deployment and maintenance headaches - the SaaS approach has eliminated much of the infrastructure complexity that used to slow down implementations.

From a business perspective, this translates to faster time-to-market for our clients, reduced total cost of ownership, and the ability to continuously evolve their digital presence without major platform migrations. For our agency, it means we can take on more ambitious projects and deliver exceptional results consistently.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We understand your concerns about the learning curve and complexity of Sitecore DXP, especially for new team members. We're pleased to hear that XM Cloud and our efforts to simplify the developer and user experience have made a positive impact. We are committed to further reducing barriers to entry and ensuring that the platform remains accessible to a broader range of technical professionals.

  ### 7. From Complexity to Simplicity: Sitecore DXP with XM Cloud

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore DXP strikes the perfect balance between power and simplicity. The ease of use for content authors has improved significantly, especially with XM Cloud’s modern authoring interface. The platform is extensible, making it easy to customize and integrate with enterprise systems. I also love the strong community of Sitecore MVPs, partners, and developers who constantly share best practices, accelerators, and innovations.

From a support standpoint, customer support has been responsive and knowledgeable, which makes a huge difference when running enterprise-grade digital experiences. The composable and modern architecture lets us adopt what we need—XM Cloud, CDP, Personalize, Content Hub—without being forced into a monolithic setup. Integrations are now easier thanks to API-first design and headless support. On top of that, the auto upgrade with XM Cloud has removed the burden of version upgrades, letting our teams focus on delivering value instead of worrying about infrastructure and patches.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The ecosystem is evolving quickly, which sometimes means there’s a learning curve with new products and features. However, the documentation and community support make up for it.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’re delivering personalized, scalable, multi-site, and multi-language experiences with faster time to market. The ability to integrate with CRMs, analytics, and commerce platforms seamlessly has allowed us to build unified customer journeys. With XM Cloud’s auto upgrades, our operational overhead is reduced, and our teams can focus on content and optimization rather than maintenance.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that the evolving ecosystem may present a learning curve with new products and features, but we're continuously working on improving our documentation and community support to assist users in navigating these changes.

  ### 8. Empowers Global Teams with Easy Content Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

with over 80 global locations, each one having a mini-site, Sitecore makes it easy to have associates at each location maintain their content

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

As an on prem customer that will hopefully be upgrading to Sitecore Ai in 2026 / 2027 the upgrade process is tedious and frustrating. As well for some of our smaller sales and services Sitecore is too much for them - they lack simplicity and minimal features

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to have a small team to manage the platform and can easily have associates across the globe manage their sites. Time for corporate reviews /approvals is minimal which is key when spanning multiple timezones where content may not get published for 12+ hours until the next team is online to complete the next step

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We apologize for the frustration with the upgrade process. We are constantly working to improve the user experience and simplify the platform for all users.

  ### 9. Sitecore is the right choice to help maximize your digital investment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vickie B. | Senior Solution Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

As a professional who has been using and implementing their product suite for over 15 years, I have been witness to Sitecore's transformation into a content management powerhouse. Their tools are robust and reliable, with a host of connectors to make integrating a breeze, and the ability to customize anything you can dream. With a vast community of professionals at your fingertips, you don't have to rely just on their support team to get answers to some of your more complex challenges.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Because the platform has so many features and can be uniquely customized for pretty much any use, there is a heavy dependency on technical resources who are trained in Sitecore to execute and maintain the system. This is definitely not the platform for you if you're into DIY projects. The learning curve is steep, but it's worth it.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary problem we come across with clients is that rapid organizational growth over time, or mergers/acquisitions, have resulted in disjointed, disorganized content. Sitecore provides excellent solutions for centralizing content, making it easier to manage, find, and distribute across multiple channels (even in multiple languages). It pretty much pays for itself in workflow efficiencies and building consistent messaging across digital platforms (i.e. brand trust).

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We're delighted to hear how Sitecore Digital Experience Platform has helped centralize and manage content for your clients, resulting in workflow efficiencies and consistent messaging across digital platforms. Thank you for sharing the specific benefits you've experienced!

  ### 10. A solid CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore is a good choice as a CMS for an enterprise that needs out of the box features and great customisation flexibility.
Many medium to advanced content tasks are available in Sitecore (versioning, workflow approvals, notifications,...) so it's a solid choice.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The learning curve is steep for developers and users, the documentation is not as clear as it could be, at times.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to build content quickly and, once all the customisations are in place, it can be tailored exactly to our needs.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We understand that the learning curve for developers and users can be steep, and we are continuously working to improve our documentation to provide clearer guidance.

  ### 11. A powerful CMS that provides a solid experience for both users and developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I work primarily with Platform DXP Products (XM, XP) providing support and development to Sitecore clients. As a developer, what I like best about Sitecore is its customizability and its community. I have never encountered a user request that I have had to tell them is impossible, but have instead always been able to come up with a creative solution made possible by Sitecore's flexibility, customizability, and huge wealth of community resources with Stack Overflow, blog posts, Slack, etc. There is also reliable customer support when we encounter uncommon issues.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The documentation for developers is comprehensive but can be very hard to find the relevant documentation you're looking for. Almost all the answers I need are ultimately found via Google on Stack Overflow rather than Sitecore docs.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Need for highly customized solutions with complex use cases; with Sitecore we are able to deliver specialized sites that are unique to each customer and satisfy complex business requirements.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> Thank you for your feedback on the customizability and community support provided by Sitecore. We acknowledge the challenge of finding relevant documentation and are committed to enhancing the searchability and organization of our developer resources.

  ### 12. Powerful CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda M. | Executive Director of Web Strategy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore's Experience Platform is a robust CMS and digital experience product. And it's continually evolving in its features - delivering future-facing tools to web marketers. As a Sitecore product owner for more than 12 years, I have seen the product evolve and meet my daily marketing needs on the regular. Even now, it's integrating AI into the CMS system to help content editors with their daily content and marketing needs. In addition, the company continues to push the boundaries in enhancing its personalization, analytics and other web needs such as DAMs, Search and more. The possibilities that Sitecore provides to web marketers is endless.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

While anyone familiar with a content management system will be able quickly learn and use Sitecore DXP, it still requires a bit of a learning curve. The product's features are unique enough to require product owners to take learning classes, watch webinars or read blogs on how to most effectively use the product. The good side to this is that the Sitecore community is full of users that are generous with their knowledge sharing. There's a consistent and constant stream of information for product owners to review, learn and act upon.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The new AI features in Sitecore Stream for DXP are exciting because it will allow content editors to easily tailor content to individual users while staying within brand compliance.

  ### 13. Deep personalisation at scale

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mobeen A. | Sitecore Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I really value the strength of Sitecore’s partner ecosystem and community. There is always a wide range of expert partners and developers available to help deliver projects efficiently and to a high standard. The global community is equally impressive, offering free resources, technical blogs, open-source tools, and active forums. It means that whether you are starting a project, scaling up, or solving a complex challenge, you are supported by a collaborative network with real-world experience.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore’s rapid pace of innovation is exciting, but it can sometimes be a challenge to stay fully up to date with all the new features and developments. While it reflects Sitecore’s commitment to improvement, it can occasionally feel a little overwhelming for teams already managing busy environments.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore Digital Experience Platform helps our clients consolidate content from a range of different platforms through integrations, even where Sitecore itself is not the system managing that content directly. This ability to bring everything together into a unified digital experience means they can deliver consistent messaging, streamline operations, and make better use of existing systems without needing to replace them. It provides flexibility, improves efficiency, and ensures a smoother customer experience across all channels.

  ### 14. Great When Set Up Right, But Can Get Messy Over Time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaitlyn W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

When it works, it works really well. When it is set up probably, it is also easier to use.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Our use of the platform has become messy over time which makes it not as easy to use and flexibility lacks.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us manage our content and serves it well to our users.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Sitecore Digital Experience Platform when it is set up correctly. We apologize for any difficulties you have encountered as the platform has become messy over time. We are committed to improving our platform and would appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

  ### 15. Excellent platform for unifying digital experiences, though development can be complex

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Unifying digital experiences into one place. The teams don't need to manage multiple websites and configurations.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Cost and speed of development can be costly. Steep learning curve for editors and administrators to utilise full functionality within Sitecore.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing us to pull multiple websites into one place with a rich number of features and security policies. Editors can move between websites with ease.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased that you appreciate the platform's ability to unify digital experiences. We understand the concerns about cost and development speed and are constantly working to enhance the platform's efficiency and reduce complexity.

  ### 16. User-Friendly Multilingual Support, But Steep Learning Curve for Beginners

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The ease of use across different languages

The customer support from the individuals we work with as been excellent too

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Can become quite complex for new users to learn all the different aspects of the system and troubleshoot

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves managing Web and Commerce content across multiple languages and locals

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We understand that our platform can be complex for new users, and we're continuously working to improve the onboarding process and provide more resources for beginners.

  ### 17. Powerful Customization, But Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Highly customizable, extensible, and generally any thought can be realized.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Extremely opaque, little documentation (though that is improving), and at the moment not much is "intuitive".

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps manage content, and deliver different experiences to many places from the same base content.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We're glad to hear that you find Sitecore Digital Experience Platform highly customizable and extensible. We understand your concerns about the learning curve and documentation, and we are continuously working to improve the user experience and provide more comprehensive resources for our users.

  ### 18. Love(d) it - but if you have the chance go with XM Cloud

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore DXP with XP/XM has been a great product, but these days you should think about going with XMCloud to get all the new features, if possible.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Nothing I really dislike, but from client perspective it was always hard to understand what brings the platform ootb and what does the partner have to do.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a good CMS with strong options to customize it to client needs.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We're glad to hear that you've had a great experience with Sitecore DXP and XM. Thank you for your feedback!

  ### 19. Scalable, Headless, and Seamless Figma Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Scalability, headless, integration with Figma (UI), personalization

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The 3 editor platforms I tried are all different experiences between Experience Editor, Content Editor & Page builder. Some glitches between each but understand it's evolving. Not easy to find documentation as a non-developer to understand easily as a newbie.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marketing department varying different user roles content updates, Web admin team control and scalability; and design and front-end development

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the different editor platforms and glitches. We are continuously working to improve the user experience and provide better documentation for non-developers.

  ### 20. Easy to use platform but with a learning curve

  ### 21. Sitecore offers a powerful CMS includes built-in several marketing tools within a single platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajesh K. | Solution Engineer Senior, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

With Multi-site and Multilingual it offers us to develop multiple website in different languages. And also Sitecore comes with Content Management tools and Marketing Tools. Software development with headless offers development using modern frontend frameworks like React, Vue, Angular, or Next.js

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Steep learning curve: especially for JSS, GraphQL setup and setting components to work on experience editor.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore personalization helps us to personalize pages and components.
Content editing
New development with Headless makes easy for us to develop websites in different frameworks

  ### 22. Effortless Editing and Versioning Make It a Standout

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Museums and Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The versioning and backup features make it straightforward to edit and update content. I also appreciate how they handle the DAM, as it simplifies managing digital assets.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The partner implementation process seems unnecessarily complicated, and now that I've learned about their data storage methods, it feels even more challenging.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating content is made very easy, allowing for effortless sharing across various digital channels.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> It's great to hear that our platform is making content creation and sharing across digital channels effortless for you. We're committed to providing a seamless experience for our users.

  ### 23. Future-proof omnichannel DXP Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna P. | Key Account Manager, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The key benefit of Sitecore DXP has always been personalisation, both with on-premise soltion Sitecore XP, but also with headless SaaS platform Sitecore XM Cloud. The users leverace personalize features directly in the platform, with possibility to extend these with Sitecore Personalize.

I really enjoy the modern UX/UI of Sitecore XM Cloud offering WYSIWYG editor for content management, simply switching between versions, languages and devices. I was nicely surprised with Drag & Drop functionality that allows me as a user to create a custom component or a form.

A big plus is security and high speed of deployments, it only takes a short while compared to what we experienced in the past. Also, no more painful upgrades, as the new features are added by Sitecore on a regular basis. Adding the AI-features on top of the platfrom puts Sitecore XM Cloud among the best CMS currently available on the market.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Onboarding on the platform can take some time, but once it is done with a reliable partner it the usage of the platform becomes rather easy and can save time once the workflows are set up well.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore DXP helps enterprise sized customers to create, manage and deliver personalized content across their digital channels. Sitecore DXPs works well when integrated with other platforms from the Sitecore portfolio unlocking wider features and further synergies (e.g. digital asset management and operations with Sitecore Conten Hub). Doing so the customer achieves the ROI earlier.

Our agency supports the client during the whole end-to-end project and helps with planning, implementation, support and onboarding of the clients on the platform, we have seen improvements in the Sitecore XMC product, bringing more features for the clients and allowing them to advance on their digital transformation road and achieving their goals. I get to work with the products, our website is running on Sitecore XP. I observed that Sitecore XM Cloud has been missing some of the features in the beginning, but now it became fully-fledged CMS, and I enjoy working with it.

  ### 24. Powerful and flexible, but has a learning curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna B. | Solutions Architect, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I've been working with Sitecore as a developer and consultant for more than 10 years. The platform has grown significantly during this time while retaining its core strengths: an extensive feature set and a wide range of customisation options. It allows you to build almost anything and integrate the DXP with any other platform or service (CRM, PIM, DAM, CPQ, SSO, Search, mailing services, etc) .
Additionally, my experience with Sitecore technical support has always been positive. The support team is responsive and effective, especially when provided with all the necessary information upfront.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The flexibility and complexity of Sitecore DXP can present a steep learning curve for new developers, content authors, and marketers. This initial challenge can make implementing custom functionality or leveraging advanced features feel slow and overwhelming at first. However, as users become familiar with the platform’s core principles, the process becomes more intuitive and straighforward.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Content management for global companies, especially when they have multiple content teams in different regions.
Custom workflow processes tailored to company's specific needs.
Content restrictions for CMS users and roles, as well as protected website areas and portal for the front-end users.
Ability to build flexible and engaging content pages from the library of reusable components, without the need to involve development teams.
Creating targeted pages and components for speific user segments by using conditional personalisation rules.

  ### 25. Industry leading DXP, extremely customisable, with both on-prem and SaaS options

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kamruz J. | Solution Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore is an extremely custmization and highly scalable DXP. This allows you to customise the product to to meet your own needs and meet the goals of the business. There are a numfer of ways to make integrations easy, including powerful modules like PowerShell Extensions.

With experience, implementations are much easier and time to market can be low with the correct processes in place (such as good continuous integration pipelines). The multisite features also allow good re-usuability, esp for microsites. The options for content modelling, navigation and content re-usability are also appreciated by developers and business users alike.

Sitecore has an extremely strong community, who are always sharing their knowledge and experiences, as well as there being many open source modules and integrations available. The community is very friendly and always willing to help.

In many ways it was ahead of its time, both the Platform DXP and the SaaS XM Cloud solution. We are seeing many other headless cms now introduce visual editing and personalisation features now for example, something that has been a core part fo the Sitecore DNA for a very long time.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

It takes experience and time to gain the expertise to understand the product. Without a good partner or that prior experience, it can be difficult to work with the product, and there are bad implementations as a result which give the product a bad rep. You also have to put a lot of though into customisations, to fully appreciate how that may affect your future upgrades.

Upgrades have also been painful in the past, that this has vastly improved in the past for the on-prem DXP. With the new XM Cloud product, this is no longer a problem since it is a SaaS solution.

The Visual Editor on the On-Prem version is very dated now and needs a revamp. The SaaS product has a modern editng UI, and this needs to be ported/made available to the on-prem instance.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work as an agency partner, but for our customers they are trying to solve 3 problems most often: creating and maintaining their website without the need for developers to make the changes; be able to create microsites and campaign sites quickly and easily; be able to empower their marketers to create personalized experiences.

  ### 26. Sitecore is a flexible well supported DXP

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerhart M. | Sitecore Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The support and development teams are making continuous improvements by releasing new features and fixing big amount of bugs.
Additionally, the setup process for local development machines and Dev-Test-Prod environments has become significantly more streamlined.
The Sitecore Upgrades from now on is very quick.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

As this is a quite new product, there is a learning curve to becoming fully familiar with it.
Additionally, some features are still missing but will be introduced in future updates just the release is unclear, so it’s important to be aware of these upcoming enhancements, and discuss with client these limitations or find workarounds.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The automatic upgrades elevate developers' work to a new level. Since these upgrades happen automatically, there is no longer a need for time-consuming, large-scale refactoring.

The cloud portal is available out of the box, allowing you to create and delete environments in just a few simple steps. This eliminates the need for complex DevOps setups for environment management.

The frontend team is now completely independent from the backend team, giving them full freedom to choose their preferred framework and determine how they want to use it.

  ### 27. This product is Awesome

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debtanu B. | Associate Tech Lead , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The most likable feature according to me is its combination of content management, personalization, and commerce capabilities in one unified system. The headless Architecture and omnichannel CMS properties make it a ready to go choice for CMS platform.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

While Sitecore DXP is powerful, a steep learning curve is required to integrate DXP. However, I still feel it is one of the finest Digital Experiences once we have overcome the learning curve.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

itecore Digital Experience Platform (DXP) solves several key challenges in content management, personalization, and omnichannel marketing, benefiting businesses in multiple ways.

CMS is the backbone of Sitecore DXP. Its structured data organisation is very user friendly and easy to understand. And as it is able to deliver omnichannel content it is very easy to integrate with other platforms such as mobile apps, IOT, etc. reducing the cost for implementation. Sitecore's in-built personalisation capabilities also helps integrating personalisation with ease.

  ### 28. With great power comes great responsibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason W. | Associate Tech Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore is, and has pretty much always been, a CMS/DXP powerhouse, allowing you to do whatever you need to do, or customise it so that you can. If you're hosting your own instance of Sitecore, the ability to add your own features is practically limitless. Everything from the core functionality to the user interface can be extended or overridden to your heart's content - though so much is included out of the box the need to customise these days can be fairly minimal depending on your implementation.
At this point in time, with composable forefront of everyone's mind, the Sitecore team have dialled-back on adding loads of new major features to the monolithic DXP in favour of other composable Sitecore products, while keeping the monolith easy to integrate with those other tools - particularly if you're familiar with customising Sitecore. They do, however, continue to add lots of handy little usability and performance improvements (just check the latest release notes for an example), as well as updates for Sitecore Experience Accelerator (which at this point, really every project should be using as it makes implementations much much easier).
Since v10 (and even v9 really) upgrades have been much more straightforward and less risky and even major releases (like 10.0) can be adopted without fear of endless major bugs, so I'd pretty confidently say there's no longer any need to stick on "n-1" like a lot of customers used to do out of fear.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

While the Sitecore team is getting better about being more prescriptive about recommended ways of customising sitecore and building sites, there are still only a few "best practices" around and it is very easy to shoot yourself in the foot with a product this complex. Working with a knowledgable Sitecore team or partner is a must.
Not only that, but now that most effort is on the SaaS "XM Cloud" it can sometimes be difficult to identify whether documentation is referring to the DXP or XMC and recommendations can sometimes be (or at least seem) conflicting.
Though it seems likely to change in the near future (ie more support will be added), when it comes to "headless" Sitecore has pushed hard for developers to use Next.JS, which somewhat limits those who may be more familiar with / want to use other languages like Angular or .NET Core.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore is a powerful DXP which allows us to:
* Store and organise massive amounts of content, of many different types (both text-based as well as media)
* Apply workflow to content to ensure it's reviewed and published only when ready
* Apply permissions and restrictions on access to both content as well as interface functionality
* Create and maintain multiple websites, whether they share components / content or only use their own
* Be accessible by dozens of authors, with login access controlled through a separate identity provider
* Easily be extended by developers to add custom logic (eg. when content is published)

  ### 29. Sitecore and I have a long term relationship...

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos R. | Sitecore Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore as a platform provides a unique combination of tools which can be leveraged by content managers, marketers, back-end and front-end developers to create a truly interactive and immersive web-site designed to capture, analyze and respond to customer needs. They have been improving ease of implementation by providing a SaaS option so focus can be increased on web-site development and marketing analysis. By being increasingle composable and supporting a head-less architecture, the product is striving to provide an ala carte means of customizing a solution to meet the needs of its clients. I will say that while it may not always be easy to implement, it is rather consistent in its approach to providing a solution. So once you get it, you get it! The product is supported by not just a partner network of technology consulting firms, but also by a robust Sitecore user and development community who work diligently together to help plow the way forward on how to best utitlize the product.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sometimes the problem with a robust product is that can be complicated. Because Sitecore has been rather consistent for many years now in how to work with it, even as it makes significant changes, it can still require a learning curve to figure out how to use all aspects of the product. But like I said earlier... Once you got it, you got it !

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a consultant, it is assisting me with providing to my client(s), a robust content management platform which can be used to not only host a site, but through thorough analysis of its how the site is used by customers. The platform provides a good deal of flexibility to allow the site owners to pivot as needs require.

  ### 30. Flexible and Powerful for Digital Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Theresa G. | Digital Marketing Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The Sitecore DXP is a game-changer. Its composable suite—XM Cloud, CDP, Personalize, and Search—let us integrate seamlessly with our existing tech stack, and as a marketing strategist, I love how it powers targeted, data-driven campaigns that make a real impact.

The platform’s flexibility, robust personalization tools, and cloud scalability have transformed how we manage and deliver content across channels. Sure, there’s a bit of a learning curve, but Sitecore’s community support and resources make it manageable and well worth the effort.

In short, Sitecore DXP is a solid choice for any organization looking to level up its digital presence with a powerful platform that grows with you.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore DXP is a powerful platform with some considerations to keep in mind. It offers robust features and flexibility, though new users may find the learning curve a bit steep, and it does require some dedicated setup and management. While the investment is premium, the value for organizations needing advanced digital experience tools is substantial.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore DXP helps us deliver personalized, scalable digital experiences with ease. It simplifies content management, making it easier to create tailored, engaging experiences across channels. With powerful analytics and personalization tools, we better understand our audience and improve our campaigns’ impact. Plus, its flexibility and smooth integration with our tech stack allow us to adapt and grow as our needs change, providing a strong base for future success.

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

the developer experience is excellent, basically anything you need to customize has a path.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Complexity can be quite high and there is a large barrier to building proficeincy if you are new.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

server side personalization, editor experience (on page editing). content architecture & reusablility.

**Official Response from Marcus Cooper-Leary:**

> We're glad to hear that you find the developer experience excellent and the customization options unmatched. We understand that the complexity can be a challenge for new users, and we are continuously working to improve the onboarding process and provide resources to help users build proficiency more easily.

  ### 32. The proper choice for your tech team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Álvaro Palmeira M. | Senior .NET Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

As a developer, what I like the most about Sitecore as a Digital Experience Platform is its flexibility to create custom components for the pages via Razor Views. It's possible to implement complex features, such as integrating the platform with third-party systems to collect and send data.

Also, since Sitecore is built on Microsoft technologies, many developers are already familiar with .NET (C#, Asp.Net MVC, SQL Server, etc) which reduces the learning curve and promotes faster onboarding.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The documentation sometimes is incomplete or vague which can lead to delays in development as developers need to spend time troubleshooting issues or exploring alternative solutions that should ideally be covered in the official documentation.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore as a Content Management System provides good management and organization of our website resources (Content, Images, Files, etc).

  ### 33. A leading Martech platform that keeps up to date with the trend

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

As a developer, the Sitecore XP is quite easy to learn with the familiar patterns used in web development with strong community support for the new learners.

The platform itself is feature rich and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

While the community support is strong, there are no official support for new learners in terms of providing sandbox environments, developer licenses etc.

Also, while the platform is feature rich and it excels in most areas, it still lack compared to competitors in areas like analytics.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore XP provides a top quality CMS features with options for personalization of content based on your audience segmentation. This helps us drive our sales by making sure the right content is presented at the right time to the right audience.

  ### 34. Adjustable and Expandable System for Digital Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gautam B. | Senior Technology Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore is a platform that offers many things in one spot. It provides strong tools for handling digital content and experiences. You can pick the features that suit your needs. Most tools are SAAS-based and can connect easily with other systems. In my opinion, Content Hub is the top module, it is user-friendly and integrates nicely with other systems.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

The Sitecore documentation needs work. At times, it lacks detail, making it hard to grasp the products. The licensing fees are quite high, which might not be affordable for smaller companies.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It assists in resolving problems of content management which enables content autors to disseminate, create and manage content quickly. This also makes it easier for teams and improves the experience of end-users.

  ### 35. Full of features and extremely flexible

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gert G. | Senior .Net Architect & Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

After being involved in many implementations on top of the Sitecore DXP I can say that it is a very flexible tool that allows the implementation partner to deliver whatever is needed. It has many features out-of-the-box, and has a tremendous community that has delivered support and examples for anything you might need.

The flexibility is not only feature wise, but also architectural as you can host the platform as you want or even have it hosted by Sitecore for you.

Once you know the platform, basic integrations can go pretty fast and because of the flexibility are usual easy to maintain.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

There is an initial learning curve for technical people to get to know the product and learn the best practices. If not implemented with those best practices in mind, it can end up slow or not user friendly for editors - although that is not the product but more the integrator.

As you do have so many options now to create the website, especially if you go headless, there is nothing bad to be said on that topic.

For the editors, some improvements can be made though. It is sometimes said the editing environment is rather slow. Or the overload of features makes it difficult for users that really just want to edit content. The new editing environment on the cloud version might be the answer to that.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore DXP has helped our customer to create multiple websites easily and manage their content effectively. Due to the flexibility and many features the platform was able to handle all kinds of web applications and integrate with all sorts of other applications and platforms.

  ### 38. A solid flexible and evolving foundation for the past 2 decades

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anders L. | Principal Software Development Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I have worked with Sitecore for the past 18 years and I have yet to come across a requirement or use-case that I could not fulfil through the flexibility of the platform.

Even though Sitecore hasn't marketed itself as composable before this became an industry buzzword - the platform has always been designed for composability in large scale solution setups and when knowing it's possibilities anything can be integrated, benefitting from the unique layout engine and editor flexibility.

The stability of the platform and api is second to none in the industry and even after being on the market for 20+ years, the core platform of Sitecore DXP has kept evolving while still remaining familiar and well-known to us industry dinosaurs who has worked with it since the early days.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

There is little that I dislike about the core platform itself while some initiatives with a lot of potential has received too little care along the way I see it mostly as Sitecore being too far ahead of the market at that time for these initiatives to really blossom.

During the years I have come across projects where the platform has been blamed for the discourse of the projects.

When looking closer into how the project has been developed on top of the platform it becomes clear that it was not the platform itself that was to blame but the implementation on top or simply expectations or promises set or made by consultants that wasn't kept.

Even though I have yet to come across a use-case that I could not fulfil with Sitecore, the platform itself does not make you coffee of the box without integrating another system that can do that. Solution architecture and composability has always been key to a succesful Sitecore project which I see as a positive. I dislike some of the initiatives that Sitecore chose along the way to guard-rail for these poor implementations. Luckily this is now in the past and focus is again back on track to keep Sitecore DXP a market leader for another 20+ years.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore DXP provide a solid foundation with a well-known framework for developers that remains flexible even though the editor experience can be tailored to the solution specific needs. The flexibility that the DXP platform combined with the stability over the years while also supporting the latest tech stacks has been phenomonal. There is no other product on the market with the same proven track record that remain competitive.

  ### 39. Sitecore DXP is futureproof!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Filip J. | Sitecore Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore’s Digital Experience Platform (DXP) is a flexible and powerful tool for managing digital content and experiences. One of the best things about Sitecore is its ability to be tailored to specific needs. You can pick the features you need now and add more later, paying only for what you use. This composable setup works well for both big companies and smaller businesses.

Sitecore DXP is also highly adaptable in terms of hosting: it can be run on-premises, as a SaaS, or hosted by Sitecore or other providers. It supports a wide range of digital projects like public websites, e-commerce, mobile apps, and customer portals.

The platform’s community is a great resource, providing examples and support that make it easier to set up and manage. Sitecore's tools for personalization, analytics, and multilingual support also make it easy to engage users and grow your business. This flexibility and range of features make Sitecore my preferred choice for digital experience solutions.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

Sitecore DXP offers impressive flexibility and a broad set of features, but these strengths can also introduce challenges. Due to its complexity, Sitecore often requires a skilled development team for setup and ongoing maintenance. Without proper implementation and best practices, it can lead to a system that’s tough to manage and might not be as user-friendly for content editors as desired. This is often more about setup than Sitecore itself, but it can impact usability.

For content editors, the interface can sometimes feel cluttered, with many features that may be overwhelming if all they need is basic content editing. While Sitecore has made lots of improvements to the editing experience, there’s still a learning curve for new users. Additionally, the licensing costs are high, which may be a consideration for some companies. However, for organizations looking for a robust, feature-rich DXP, Sitecore’s value often outweighs the investment.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitecore's (DXP) has evolved to embrace a headless architecture, moving away from a monolithic structure to a more modular, composable approach. This transition allows organizations to decouple the front-end presentation layer from the back-end content management system (CMS), offering greater flexibility and scalability in delivering digital experiences. With this approach you can probably see license costs go down as we go and you pay for the products/features you are currently using with Sitecore.

It's strong in Personalization and Customer Insights. Offers unified content and experience management.

  ### 40. A powerful platform steadily improving

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan L. | Manager of Web and Mobile Development, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

I really appreciate how the whole ecosystem works together. We've adopted a few of the tools so far and they all work well together and complement each other. I love how now that we're on cloud now we get pleasant new surprises with each product update and we don't have to do any of the upgrade work ourselves.

**What do you dislike about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**

There is a pretty steep learning curve and I feel like the migration path from XP 9.3 to XM Cloud could have been a bit easier.

**What problems is Sitecore Digital Experience Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us build a web cms offering that the whole enterprise can use and benefit from. Historically our web tech has been very fragmented, Sitecore is helping us standardize our web experiences.

  ### 41. Using Sitecore to power our own marketing (“Drinking our own champagne”)

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meghan F. | SVP, Client Strategy, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Sitecore Digital Experience Platform?**
