I oversee an intranet site for a Fire Department with over 600 employees. Because the site is behind a login, we were limited in what search tools I could embed in the website. We also did not have thousands of dollars to sink into subscribing to a big expensive service full of bells and whistles we didn't need. I came across Site Search 360 after more than two years of searching for a solution, and it checked all the boxes. It could access our site and index all our many, many documents and pages. I was also able to embed it on the site and style it in a way that made it appear to be a seamless part of the site itself (unlike some of the options I'd investigated which took you off-site to a landing page to see your results). When I've encountered problems, the staff have been quick to help me, despite being half a world away. They also helped me get our service billing aligned with our annual budget timing. All-in-all they've been super helpful and have a great product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
To those without any HTML or CSS coding skills, there may be some elements of this tool that might seem intimidating if you want to do anything other than the out-of-the-box presentation of their search results (although they do have an online wizard that can help you put together some basic customization). However, I believe you will find them eager to help if you cannot figure out what you need to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
