## Sisense Reviews
  ### 1. Easy to Use, but Lacks Training Resources

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | Media Planner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I find Sisense easy to use and read. It allows teams to monitor client spend and activity efficiently, which is incredibly helpful for reporting on revenue. I also value the downloadable reports feature, which makes accessing important information straightforward. The initial setup of Sisense was easy, making it a smooth transition when I started at the company.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Sisense seems quite cluttered, and there is no training provided, it seems.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense for reporting on revenue, and it allows teams to monitor client spend and activity.

  ### 2. Great for simple visuals, and can be expanded with eCube customizations. Limitations on the user-facing formulas can be a problem.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher L. | Senior Technical Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

The UI is more of a common style at this point. Speed is good initially, but can be bogged down on larger datasets. the newer release has improved Excel export speed considerably, but the dashboards themselves can be slow to load. The plugin library has been expanded, though we have found many require coding - simple enough but many users are not capable of doing that for ad-hoc reporting.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

The clear expectation of the developers is that report authors would be technical resources with access to the eCube. User-facing report development UI still does not include formula logic for non-numeric results. No "Left(<string>, 5)" to get the beginning of a string; that would need to be done at the eCube level as a new reportable field.

Support for the Windows version of the software has lagged considerably, though new development on Linux continues. Some additions to the UI for formatting (like adding a checkbox for word wrap) has happened, but not extensively. Many text formatting options still require writing little widget scripts.

**Recommendations to others considering Sisense:**

The market for dashboarding tools is a moving and vibrant one right now. Sisense is a great option for quick dashboarding, especially if you will need to work with the vendor to adapt the tool to your needs. Sisense the company has been helpful and responsive as we adopted it; providing very good support along the way.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Legal case management and spend management. The insights into spending trends are very easy to do, visually pleasing and dynamic. Simple assessments, such as viewing bill subtotals over time grouped by vendor, or by state, as extremely simple. Our clients have greatly enjoyed Sisense as an improvement over the old in-house reporting tool. There is still a lot with JAQL and R we have not yet tapped. I expect we will expand the use cases for this tool over the coming year, as we discover new ways to employ it.

**Official Response from Andrew Loomis:**

> Update 9/9/2025 - Sisense Intelligence now allows for natural language querying of any data model without the need to know SQL or underlying database structures. This makes dashboard design and ad-hoc querying easy for non-technical users. If you're interested in learning more, I've included a link to the functionality below.

  ### 3. Pros and Cons of Sisense - TLDR

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

There are a lot of plug in vendors with usefull stuff. Also, if you invest enough time figuring out the kinks of the javascript and workings of sisense you can develop some really cool features. The cube db system they use is good for a low code approach.
The costumer Support is usually quick and helpfull.
Integration with other systems is easy.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

I dislike the UI, it is not user friendly, building dashboards and preparing the exports requires quite a lot of time invested into the platform, it is really hard to have a ready to go product even with your own development on top of it.
Ease of use is definitely not a plus on sisense.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dashboarding and Internal Reporting

  ### 4. Useful product but playing catchup with new entrants in the space.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Nothing new - we decided not to renew our contract with Sisense.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

They had a massive security breach that impacted us financially. Their response to that was not helpful and they deprioritized customer support

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a platform that can aggregate data from all the different sources used by our product and present a unified view of our current KPIs and progress towards hitting targets.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> This feedback is wonderful, and I think would get the best traction in our Product Feedback Forum located in the Sisense community. I encourage you to join and share your thoughts to help make documentation better!

  ### 5. Great Out-of-the-Box Widgets, but Dashboard Changes Are Tricky

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

A good set of out of the box widgets that meets most requirements

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Making changes to existing dashboards is problematic

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualization of analytics data, it helps users view/review their data

  ### 6. Powerful dashboards, but setup and data modeling take time to master

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

How easy it makes working with complex data. It pulls information from multiple sources into one place and turns it into clear, interactive dashboards that are actually useful.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

The initial setup and data modeling can take some time to get right, especially if your data environment is complex. Some advanced features also have a learning curve, so new users may need training before they feel fully comfortable.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense helps solve the problem of disconnected, hard-to-understand data. Before using it, we were juggling multiple spreadsheets, databases, and siloed reports that didn’t talk to each other, which made it difficult to get a clear picture. With Sisense, we can bring all of that data together in one place, so we finally have a single source of truth.

  ### 7. Buggy with Difficult Onboarding but Otherwise Cool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like that we can build our own data models and customize report widgets.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

A lot of features don't exist or aren't fully fleshed out. Filtering or customizing data for reports is difficult. Data model crashes often.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense is used to power the reporting we give to clients in our platform. The reports are customizable and easy to edit on an ongoing basis.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> We're glad to hear that you appreciate the ability to build your own data models and customize report widgets. We understand your concerns about the difficulties with filtering and customizing data for reports, as well as the data model crashes. We are constantly working to improve our platform and your feedback is valuable in helping us address these issues. Please feel free to share your feedback in the Product Feedback Forum located in our Sisense Community.

  ### 8. My Sisense Experience over 3 years

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fayaz S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

We can Integrate multiple applications together in a cube.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

A lot of things about dislike of Sisense i.e
- Too slow in fetching data from the database if you are writing customized queries. The same query runs in the database within a second but Sisense takes 10 to 20 minutes or sometimes hours in execution.
- On every change either small or big you need to rebuild the cube which means you have to wait sometimes for 30 minutes and sometimes more than an hour.
- The Sisense internal SQL query feature is too limited, you can only use basic SQL, nothing advanced.
- Sisense cube mapping only provides INNER JOIN, but sometimes we need LEFT, RIGHT, OR CROSS JOIN to achieve the desired reporting results.
- The Sisense Interface is not user-friendly and the support is terrible, they didn't provide good documentation about advanced features they have like API, embedded code, CSS, etc.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is a business intelligence tool so we can create dashboards/charts using it.

**Official Response from Andrew Loomis:**

> Thank you for providing feedback! You'll be happy to hear that many of the things you've listed will be worked on this year as part of our product roadmap. Particularly we are investing in performance, quality, and UX improvements. We expect our roadmap to be available for customers to view next month so I encourage you to reach out to your CSM to learn more.

  ### 9. Insightful Tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Sisense is a great tool to use for data analysis and reporting. You are provided with insightful data which allows you to dive deep into the information. Sisense enables you to create clear visuals, from basic charts to more intricate graphs, all of which are visually appealing and easy to interpret. These visuals not only enhance the presentation of data but also make it easier to communicate complex findings to others.

With its robust functionality and customizable features, the possibilities for what you can create are endless. However, it's worth noting that while the tool offers flexibility, there may be a learning curve for newer users. Nonetheless, with a bit of patience and practice, the tool can become an indispensable asset.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

There is a big learning curve, both during the initial setup and as you continue to use the platform. Navigating through its various features and functionalities may require significant time and effort, especially for those who are newer to the tool.

Additionally, the dashboard loading times can be slow, which can be frustrating and whilst Sisense does offer training resources, I'd personally like more comprehensive support throughout the onboarding process.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick and easy access to data whilst creating insightful dashboards.

**Official Response from Andrew Loomis:**

> Thank you so much for the feedback! We're glad to hear you're leveraging our new academy to ramp up on the product. We are also looking to improve our onboarding process with an increased focus on enablement so our customers can learn the product more quickly and get fast time to value. If you're experiencing subpar dashboard performance I'd recommend reaching out to your CSM so we can have a consultant look things over with you.

  ### 10. Solution for data teams without advanced requirements

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Sisense has been an integral part of our analytics framework, primarily due to its exceptional embedded analytics capabilities. The seamless integration of analytics into our products has significantly enhanced our user experience.

Cloud version is fully managed by Sisense team and the implementation and maintenance is really transparent for the customer. Perfect for small data teams.

The utilization of Elasticubes for basic transformation operations has proven to be an efficient approach, facilitating smooth data manipulation and analysis. This has streamlined our data management processes and contributed to improved decision-making.

While the customer support provided by Sisense may not be exemplary, it is certainly above average. We have received timely assistance whenever required, and the support team has been fairly responsive in addressing our queries and concerns.

Moreover, Sisense's commitment to continuous integration of new features has been impressive. The regular introduction of innovative functionalities and tools has allowed us to stay updated with the latest trends in analytics, enabling us to leverage new opportunities and stay ahead in a competitive market.

Overall, Sisense has been a valuable asset for our organization, contributing significantly to our data analytics capabilities and providing us with the tools necessary to make informed business decisions.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

While Sisense offers some useful features, it falls short when compared to other market solutions. In terms of user-friendliness, Sisense's interface lacks the intuitive design and ease of use that is found in several other competing solutions. This has resulted in a steeper learning curve for our team, impacting our overall productivity and efficiency.

Furthermore, although Sisense does integrate new functionalities, it still lags behind other solutions in terms of comprehensive offerings. The features provided by Sisense, while beneficial, do not match the robustness and completeness that we have observed in other analytics platforms. FIltering, data assets management and advanced dashboard features are an example of the weak points.

In our experience, we have found that other market solutions provide a more holistic approach to data analytics, offering a wider range of tools and functionalities that cater to a diverse set of business needs. This has underscored the necessity of exploring alternative options that can better align with our organization's requirements and provide us with a more comprehensive analytics solution.

Although Sisense has its merits, the current market demands a more competitive and comprehensive solution that can effectively address the evolving needs of businesses, and in this aspect, Sisense has room for improvement.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create basic reports to share across organization

**Official Response from Andrew Loomis:**

> Hi Alan,

Thank you so much for your feedback! Based on your review, I would recommend your team speak to your CSM about an upcoming feature (currently in beta) called Compose SDK. The goal with this feature is to provide limitless possibilities with how you build your data products. Also, if you have any ideas for how to improve our product in other areas, I invite you to share them in our Product Feedback Forum in the Sisense Community.

  ### 11. Intuitive data analytics dashboard

- configuration options are powerful and flexible

- must know SQL in order to be able to extract value

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nexus for viewing and sharing insights into our data warehouse. Our stakeholders can setup (often with help of engineers) and view analytics dashboards to measure or check-on KPIs and other key insights

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> Thank you for the feedback Max, I'm happy to hear you are getting a lot of value out of the product. I would reach out to our support team regarding the banner error you have mentioned above!

  ### 14. Overall, my experience with Sisense is satisfactory.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Ease of use and integration. Minimalistic view of various features in a single dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Specifically felt hard to resolve elastic cube build failures when handling considerable amount of data. The builds were inconsistent sometimes which made it a bit difficult to reconcile data in a few scenarios. Quick resolution would be really appreciated moving on.

Gain visual insights, transforming data. Easy way for analysts to make minor changes to get the required data by applying custom filters.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> It's great to hear that Sisense is helping you gain visual insights and transform data, as well as providing an easy way for analysts to make minor changes to get the required data by applying custom filters. ### 18. Works well, but sometimes can be buggy.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like how powerful it is. Bringing together multiple data sets from different applications allows me to see customer data in a single dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Sometimes random things don't work like creating a stacked bar chart and then attempting to filter by top 10, this just doesn't work.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customers previously didn't have a way to visualise data in a few of our applications. After training the customer admins, they can create reports themselves.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> We're glad to hear that you find Sisense powerful and beneficial for bringing together multiple data sets. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the occasional bugs and issues with creating specific chart types. We are constantly working to improve our platform and appreciate your feedback. ### 20. Robust Features with Some Scalability Hurdles

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

The strong suit of Sisense lies in its comprehensive approach to data integration and analysis. The ease with which it handles data from various sources and the simplicity of its dashboard creation tools are commendable. Visualizing data is a breeze, and the drag-and-drop functionality is a boon for creating detailed reports quickly.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

However, the platform isn't without its issues. The primary concern arises when the system is scaled. For a SaaS offering, one anticipates seamless scalability and robust backend support to manage increasing data loads. Unfortunately, Sisense seems to struggle with resource management during high-demand periods. As the complexity and volume of queries grow, performance can degrade, contradicting the expected reliability of a cloud-based service. This has been a significant drawback, especially when quick data processing is essential for business operations.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform has been instrumental in transforming our data visualization practices.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> I would encourage you to post in our Product Feedback Forum hosted within our Sisense Community and share this concern. Thank you so much for leaving this review!

  ### 21. Legacy platform that keeps going strong

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

When we first met with Sisense 7 years ago, they promised an easy way of building dashboards for our customers. They delivered that, and keep going strong until today.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

As a small business, we are price sensitive. Sisense has custom pricing that sometimes it's scary to ask. Sisense doesn't give usage analytics for free, which is very helpful to grow business.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense gives us a quick and easy solution to build embed dashboard within our platform.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> Thank you!
I am glad that we have had a great constant business relationship over these many years! I would like to have you in our community! We have a lot to offer our customers there.

  ### 22. Useful Tool

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phillip J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Data Visualization and dashboard building functionality was great.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

I found the billing/support system to be tricky to navigate. I had a number of issues updating payment methods for my company's plan, and our renewal contract was sent to an employee no longer with the company, so we got locked into another year of our plan due to not cancelling the renewal in time.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customer behavior analysis/sales trends are easy to monitor.

**Official Response from Andrew Loomis:**

> We're glad to hear that you found our data visualization and dashboard building functionality great. We apologize for the difficulties you experienced with our billing and support system. We take your feedback seriously and will work to improve in this area.

Not an easy learning curve like Tableau.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting to big data ecosystems directly through Hive quite fast

Once widgets are created and data sources are connected, Sisense is a very handy way to keep track of your most impactful KPIs.

It's virtually impossible for the layperson to set up or create new widgets. The UI is outdated.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

useful business tool for using analytics in day to day business

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

It looks like it is really ea sy and useful to use and has good functionality

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me use data from seperate parts of my business and use that data to draw the two together in order to create accurate forecasts and useful information to be presented company wide.

  ### 41. Sisense is a useful tool for data analysis and business insights. But it is quite buggy.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared M. | Solutions Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Sisense does a pretty good job at doing the basics; database querying, creating data models, creating dashboards from those data models, etc. In terms of doing the minimum for any data analysis software, it does it's job just fine.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Sisense is full of strange, often unidentifiable or non-reproduce-able bugs. Many of these are related to a buggy UI/UX, others have to do with dashboards returning errors with no insight on the source. Additionally, the custom EC tool can use a few key features:
- a way to select boolean logic for join conditions
- join options for tables (non-default inner joins)

**Recommendations to others considering Sisense:**

Sisense is best for those without extensive knowledge and experience in SQL querying. For more experienced users, there are likely other software that allow for more freedom.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving business problems related to optimizing the blades / damages problem in the wind industry. There are plenty of benefits to building dashboards that draw conclusions on the kind of actions that O&Ms of wind farms should take.

  ### 42. New User Experience

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

The instructions are easy to follow throughout the reporting process.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

The training area is a bit boring with all the videos.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for report analysis for tracking project outcomes.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> Thank you for your feedback, Sisense is investing a lot of resources into a new customer training portal in 2023 which will offer both on-demand as well as live instructor-led courses. We also have a ton of best practices content on our community which we recommend all of our customers join to learn from other Sisense power users.

  ### 43. Civitas Media Sisense Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

The system is easy to setup and building the data through the ELT (Elasticube) is fast and easy to integrate once you understand the layout. The technical support staff and account managers are very knowledgeable and professional about a variety of topics. It feels like they are invested in our success and want us to be satisfied.

The improvements have come a long way in the past year or so and every version is a big improvement from the last one.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

The UI is not very user friendly and requires a lot of training. There are too many basic features that require a java plugin and technical troubleshooting. The plug ins are easy to install but they should be standard. Most BI people are not java experts so it's troubling that this is an essential skill to have when working with the software.

The subtotals do not work properly when comparing unique customer IDs from a current month to the same time period in the last month. The drill down feature does not work as indicated on the webinars because we are unable to filter the drill down results like the system indicates.

The export to .csv function is very ugly in excel and needs too much formatting after the fact. The mobile app is basically worthless. The user account administration is not efficient and not available from the mobile app. The webinars are too basic and intended for people just getting started. I wish there was an advanced webinar series. Some of the features shown do not work correctly for large data sets. We still have tickets with open bugs in their system that have been pending for months. It's hard to believe that other people are not having the same issues.

The elasticube interface is very archaic and needs a lot of improvements. For example, you cannot sort columns or export tables to files within the interface. The joins within the elasticube don't always work correctly and the advanced server settings are difficult to find and calibrate.

**Recommendations to others considering Sisense:**

Strongly consider it for basic BI reporting and data analytics functions. Be prepared to have a lot of trainings with your end users and don't set their expectations too high.

Have a strong foundation in java and don't even bother downloading the mobile app until it's vastly improved.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We primarily look at sales revenue numbers and growth/loss of customers. We can group the results easily be region/location/sales person for any time period we want. The filters really help show a lot of trending data quickly to our executive so they can take action.

  ### 44. Basic analytics are easy, but widget types are limited and buggy

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Managing your data in elasticubes is easy to pull in from varied locations

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Often buggy, more so on the dashboarding side with different widget types and UI. Generic widget types are limited in functionality

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping our customers manage their data for trends and prioritization. Financially has helped teams be more effective with prioritization

  ### 45. Nice user interface, but not always intuitive

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom S. | Business Intelligence Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

SSO and link with Active Directory makes it easy to add and remove users and for them to login.
Row data security when required is good.
Cloud based platform is great.
Typically, slick visualisations are able to be created.
The level of interactivity that can be created for users is good, dynamic and allows flexibility to suit varying business questions on the same dashboard.
Blox opens up more configuration possibilities once proficiency is established in using it.
The amount of customisation options allows many possibilities.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Lack of in-built version control.
Needing to use REST API for some admin tasks (e.g. re-assigning folder ownership).
Bugs are discovered too frequently and resolution times can be long.
The amount of customisation options introduces more complexity, which means more can go wrong (i.e. platform updates). This can create additional rework and/or time spent chasing support for resolving business critical insight issues. It would be good if some plugins actually came inbuilt (e.g. dimension changer).

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firstly, it helps highlight poor data quality across the organisation and this can often lead to improved data capture within business processes. When the business' data is visible to everyone or senior leadership, it can accelerate the pace of change in getting things right.
More specifically, I have worked with commercial and finance teams. In finance, the benefit has been that users are able to plan their client accounts better and make more informed decisions on what needs to be done in order to meet financial targets. For sales, reps have a near real-time view of how much of their quota they have achieved which helps influence their sales performance. This is compared to a quarterly view which was manually delivered previously and always too late for the reps to react.

  ### 46. Robust, but not end user friendly

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Robustness, ease of integrating with multiple data sources, flexibility

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

User interface is not geared towards high end user adoption

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Combining datasets from many sources to visualize product performance

  ### 47. Good Visualization tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sunil K. | Manager BI, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

The basis and starting level data visualization can be created fairly quickly. It has own elastic cube management which makes it fairly stand alone infrastructure. Trial of the tool as available which makes it easy to learn and test.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

The speed of the dashboard load becomes quite slow as the dashboard start to grow in number of widgets. It does not support variables filters like it is available in Tableau. The internet traffic is through HTTP/1.1, which makes the response bit slower where widgets on the dashboard is more in number.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We want to make Analytics easy and fast in our organization. Analysts use dashboard and reports built on Sisense to quickly find actionable insights. Executive team can look at the Sisense dashboard as one point source of all top KPIs.

  ### 48. Powerful and flexible modelling

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Szabolcs S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

- Possibility to build datasets in form of cubes using heterogeneous set of data sources
- Super flexible with many options on modelling and frontend in case you know how to write scripts
- There are various extensions that are easy to install and provide additional features
- AI fuelled alerting for anomaly detection
- Data connectors are pretty fast
- Easy integration with Slack

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

- Basic and not so fancy design (if you don't know javascript)
- Frontend UI not intuitive
- Takes more time to build fancy dashboards
- On frontend some functionalities are missing or very complicated to implement (e.g. drill down, hierarchies, formatting options without scripting, etc.)

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Used for BI reporting and KPI anomaly detection

  ### 49. Downtime, data concerns

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Ease of visibility, clarity of data presentation

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Slowness, filter bugs (e.g., error if you try to filter data by month; you must open the jump-to dashboard and then filter). Also, the most important information to me isn't included in the primary widgets - but that decision is above my pay grade.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More comprehensive access to data for multiple clients instead of our previous reporting solution which was client-specific. We now have the ability to provide access to our vendors and they can run their own productivity and TAT reporting, which is a big time saver.

  ### 50. Sisense application has its pros and its cons

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Outsourcing/Offshoring | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Most helpful/Useful feature of Sisense: Although my organization hasn’t purchased Sisense Narratives, it’s the one feature that sold me on the product. I’m also a huge fan of the Pulse feature.

Upside: Sisense connects very easily to a larger variety of data sources than some of its competitors.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Lamentably, I find Sisense’s “out of the box” features to be extremely lacking as compared to some of its competitors. For example, I’ve had to go to its marketplace to locate add-ons to replicate the dynamic visualizations that I was able to make using another business intelligence tool.

Additionally, I was surprised to discover that Sisense doesn’t have an extensive library of 3D rendering extensions, which combined with logarithmic functionality are great for visualizing data with lots of data points. Comparatively, Excel’s built-in 3D rendering options are more robust.

Ironically, the biggest downside to using Sisense doesn’t have anything to do with the application itself, but with their inefficient tech support model. Moreover, it’s my belief that their response to support tickets isn’t necessarily aligned with the severity of the customer’s issue.

For example, when I recently submitted a ticket of a critical nature, indicating that my system was down. Nonetheless, it took their support team a total of 8 days to remediate, when it should have taken 1 or 2 days at most.

My Recent Experience with Tech Support

Day 1: Submission of Support Ticket Categorized as Critical System Outage

Hours after submitting a ticket, someone from tech support (or perhaps it was a bot) replied with an article listing various scenarios which could be the cause for the critical outage and suggestions for remediation.

Essentially, I was tasked by support with determining if any of the scenarios listed were the reason for the outage.

Day 2: Suggestions Followed & System Logs Uploaded to Support Portal

Upon learning that none of the suggestions referenced in the article resolved the issue, support’s next response was to task me with finding and uploading system logs to their support portal for them to review.

Day 3: Support Reviews the System Logs

Ironically, after reviewing the system logs, support informed me that Sisense wasn’t working, which is of course why I submitted a support ticket in the first place. Finally, they offered to schedule a troubleshooting session via ZOOM.

Days 4 & 5: Scheduling the Support Call

Expecting that they would work around my schedule, I replied with my availability. Support instead replied with THEIR availability by forwarding a link to their calendar. In every instance when I have received one of these links, there wasn’t an available time slot for at least 24 hours.

Day 6: The 1st Support Call

Ultimately, while on the call with tech support, I was pleasantly surprised to discover how eager they were to resolve the problem.

Unfortunately, after troubleshooting for nearly 2 hours the support tech couldn’t resolve the issue and had to end the call to confer with the team.

Days 7 & 8: Scheduling the 2nd Support Call & Ticket Resolution

After receiving a 2nd calendar link and selecting the earliest available time slot which wasn’t until the next day, I found myself on a marathon 3 hour troubleshooting session with a tenacious support tech determined to remediate the issue. He was successful.

A few takeaways from this experience and many others like it that I’ve had with Sisense.

During the inordinate amount of downtime between responses from Sisense’s tech team, I’ve learned that I must work in parallel with them to resolve and close out my own tickets. I’ve beaten them to the solution on at least 3 or 4 occasions, and for none other reason than the poor efficacy of their support model which moves at an almost glacial pace.

As an aside, I’d like to point out that in at least one instance, support closed out a ticket without there being a resolution.

Consequently, Sisense’s DIY brand of seemingly customer-phobic service, even when all systems are down, sends a message that their customer’s tech support needs aren’t a priority, which undermines both its product as well as its reputation.

Once more, when I’ve had the occasion to actually speak directly with members of their tech support staff they’ve always been very pleasant and extremely eager to resolve the issues, and have often done so masterfully.

It’s not the people, it’s the process!

I’d gladly change this review if Sisense were to reset the bar by providing exemplary customer service.
