Sisense user interface for the final user (viewer or designer) is really simple and intuitive for the most common needs. It is really customizable, but also embeddable in your solution .

Sisense's support is always available and usually provide feedback in short time.

It's Elasticube (data) engine has really good performance.

Sometime it's not immediate for the designer to understand what is the path that sisense is usign to provide an answer (draw a chart or create a table), that could require some "hint" in the expressions to force it to use the right structures, but it depends on the complexity of your datamodel. I think it is an acceptable compromise when you use a software that is not requiring you to write the query needed to get data, regardless how complex is your datamodel. Sisense offers developers an intuitive interface. Building models (live and elastic) is easy and straightforward. Basic capabilities are easy to learn and adapt. There is a range of widgets to choose from. I'm personally a fan of Blox given its versatility.

We struggled integrating it with Slack. Some of the basic widget customisations need custom scripting (if it is a frequently requested feature/capability the team strives to add it in the upcoming product releases, which is good). Having to purchase addons from third-party vendors for basic features is not ideal.

Lacks the ability to search for a metric to identify which dashboard contains it unless the metric is explicitly mentioned in the dashboard name. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The UI is more of a common style at this point. Speed is good initially, but can be bogged down on larger datasets. the newer release has improved Excel export speed considerably, but the dashboards themselves can be slow to load. The plugin library has been expanded, though we have found many require coding - simple enough but many users are not capable of doing that for ad-hoc reporting. The clear expectation of the developers is that report authors would be technical resources with access to the eCube. User-facing report development UI still does not include formula logic for non-numeric results. No "Left(<string>, 5)" to get the beginning of a string; that would need to be done at the eCube level as a new reportable field.

Support for the Windows version of the software has lagged considerably, though new development on Linux continues. Some additions to the UI for formatting (like adding a checkbox for word wrap) has happened, but not extensively. Many text formatting options still require writing little widget scripts. I find Sisense's ability to easily create dashboards and widgets to be a huge benefit. This feature allows me to slice and filter widgets to dive deeper into areas of interest for leadership. I particularly appreciate the drill down capabilities, as they are incredibly helpful in exploring data layers. The customization options, especially through dashboard and widget scripts, have made a significant impact on how our data is presented and highlighted. For instance, using widget scripts to tailor the look and feel of widgets ensures they meet specific visual requirements. Additionally, I created a dashboard script that effectively displays the date filter in the widget title for our embedded dashboards, which conveniently allows users to see the date range at a glance without having to scroll back. Overall, these features significantly enhance our ability to gain deeper insights from our data and have been vital in making our data visualization more effective and user-friendly. I find the query builder in Sisense lacking in some areas, such as the ability to run multiple queries simultaneously. This limitation forces me to toggle between browser windows when I need to compare queries, which is inconvenient. It would be much more efficient if I could view comparison queries in the same window, similar to how SQL Server operates. Additionally, the error messages in the query builder can be too vague, especially when dealing with nested queries, making troubleshooting more difficult than it needs to be. I appreciate Sisense for its robust data modeling capabilities and the great features it offers, making it a valuable tool for my company’s dashboards and for tracking KPIs in finance, operations, sales, and across other teams. The integration with other software like Salesforce is also greatly beneficial. I find it challenging to perform left joins in Sisense as the platform seems to default to creating inner joins. This necessitates manually writing queries each time I need to execute a left join, which makes this process a bit difficult and cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

While the dashboards look great,the actual builder feels a bit dated and clunky. It's not as sleek or intuitive as some newer tools, and sometimes a simple formatting change takes more clicks than it should Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Since we have move well towards the world of AI, the Sisense also have these features that makes user experience more interactive. Like its intelligence, generating narratives, descriptions for tables, charts, providing summaries, analysis even if one is not an expert in data. All these are enhancing the user experience. Well sometimes its slow like Iframes for dashboards, loading the dashboards can be slow and lagged which in a way disrupts the flow. Also some features are limited to certain report functions which are required in a lot more places. Apart from there other factors are also there like exporting data are not as feasible as others, if a user is viewing dashboards in mobile it can be hectic.
