**What do you like best about SimpleDB?**

It was great when it was the only NoSQL DB supported by AWS. I love that every key is indexed so it was easy to construct very complex queries even in a highly-scalable environment.

**What do you dislike about SimpleDB?**

Did you know there are limits to the number of records you can have? I didn't. I also didn't know there was a limit to how much data you could have on one record, or the number of keys you could have on one record. Now that DynamoDB is out and really in it's prime, there is *no reason to still use SDB*. Just don't use it anymore. DynamoDB is way faster and easier to scale.

**Recommendations to others considering SimpleDB:**

Don't, use DynamoDB instead. Although Amazon hasn't officially said they will stop supporting SimpleDB, all the new features and toys are in DynamoDB, not SimpleDB.

**What problems is SimpleDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Switched away from a hosted SQL database to SDB. Helped us scale a lot and helped us in the transition to the cloud, before DynamoDB was available.
