Instead of submitting tickets and waiting for a response, we're in daily communication with their team, working together to solve problems. They feel like core members of our marketing team. It's also a great fit for our existing tech stack, and it's simple and straightforward to get data from Redshift available in Simon for marketing use. Generally their team is constantly improving the tool, so I'm expecting even more great features in the next few years. We're expecting to work with Simon Data for a long time going forward. **What do you dislike about Simon AI?** There are small tweaks we'd like to see in the email building and flow tools, but so far Simon has been great about adding our requests to their roadmap and I'm entirely confident that the tool will be better a year from today than it already is. **What problems is Simon AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've substantially cut the amount of time it takes to build and send one-off emails, and many automated sends can be accomplished entirely by the marketing team without involving engineers. Once learning some basic Jinja logic, it is easy to add dynamic content & personalization in the body of the email. The Simon team is also very responsive & communicative which is very helpful. **What do you dislike about Simon AI?** The biggest issue I face with Simon is the refresh structure and that the data doesn't constantly update. With how our team operates, it is a roadblock not to have the data available when we need it. And, when we do get a refresh (manual or automated), it can sometimes take upwards of 3 hours to fully refresh which can cause delays. Creating reusable templates and blocks for multiple journeys is helpful for marketers that do not have that much experience in coding so that they can make the emails themselves! Also, seeing the changes in real-time as you code is handy to spot any potential display or logic error. All data types are easy to understand, and terms as contacts, segments, events are very straightforward, so using them on the content builder allows the creation of personalized emails for each user (taking into consideration email design limitations). Testing with multiple scenarios/users how your email will behave will let you know if there is any issue to resolve in terms of content or display. In addition, the Simon Data support team is very helpful in every possible way, always trying to resolve any issues there may be and answer any questions regarding the platform. **What do you dislike about Simon AI?** There can be some increased loading times when too many people are using the platform. I use the content, segments and flows parts of the platform most often. Comparing to the platforms I used before (Sales Force Marketing Cloud and Adobe Campaign Standard and Classic), I would honestly prefer Simon, if only it was not so slow. My favourite part is setting up segments. I feel like this is the best way to do it. **What do you dislike about Simon AI?** As great as it it, Simon can load very slow. It unfortunately happens very often and in crucial moments. Also, being given a heads up when possible, when there's a chance of the platform being slower than usual / not working would be great. I noticed that our colleagues at Simon are trying to do that. But Unfortunately there were quite a few times when we did not get a heads up. If the slowness problem were to be solved I would say that Simon is THE platform to use. **Recommendations to others considering Simon AI:** Simon Data is an amazing platform, but it can be quite slow at times, so make sure you look into that first and discuss it with their team. **What problems is Simon AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** From my work point of view, Simon is great at helping create and manipulate content and reach the right audiences. The workflow with Simon can be very smooth, going from content to scheduling and for the most part it is all very easy to understand. Another thing that I think is very nice to have is the detailed overview of a send-out. Having a first overview and getting an idea about the different metrics is very important to me. They have the most direct integrations of any CDP we looked at -- they plug seamlessly into platforms like Zendesk, Shopify, Facebook and Google. Their account management/customer success team has been stellar from day one and I have loved working with their team. Our startup does not have a data warehouse, so the best part is that they function like one that marketers can query and make advanced segments without having to have any of that knowledge or experience. **What do you dislike about Simon AI?** They do say that they can connect to any platform, however, you need to think through what data you are pushing and pulling back in. They didn't have the ability to hook more than one platform into their data feed. Some of their integrations are not fully baked and don't really work without billable hours from their team to stand up. We also wished they had an integration with our ESP, Retention Science. Another thing I wish was different was the existence of a canvas to build campaigns, flows and journeys. When we started using Simon Data, at first i was a little confused on how to use but the Simon data team really helped us through that process and once we learned, we were amused. From creating to follow up on results and a resume of behavior of each audience on our website. Deliver and share results was easier and faster. It's really cool to use it. **What do you dislike about Simon AI?** The only thing i would say is, at first the results can be confusing when one user is on different audiences, because lets say, you have a segment of adults between 25-35, another one for type of membership and a user is on both, if this user buys something, this purchase will appear on the result of both audiences report. Therefore, you have to keep in mind that on how to take the best of it. **Recommendations to others considering Simon AI:** You really need to make sure your team understand how to use Simon, otherwise you will not be taking advantage of everything it offers, that was our first issue but once we learned, we were amazed. **What problems is Simon AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problems that we are solving with this solution are several, but the main one is the way of making our process to build audiences easier. Many competitors require engineering to build out attributes and features for personalization. Simon is great because all that's needed are SQL users to create these datasets, no engineering support needed! Our account reps are awesome and very attentive! **What do you dislike about Simon AI?** Simon does not have great reporting features. It's impossible to see how all your campaigns are performing over time and general support for measurement within the platform is lacking. It is possible to get this level of granularity outside of the platform, but you need an engineer to build an ETL for the email engagement metrics and from this, a SQL user can build out reporting views. Otherwise, these reporting views do not exist in an easy-to-use way in Simon. Also, the Simon user guides are not robust and you need to rely heavily on your account rep. It's been great having very dedicated support reps to help us with this process.
