I like that Simcenter Amesim models are fast to build, which gives me more time to analyze system dynamics instead of spending a lot of time building models from first principles. Its intuitive interface and vast libraries are very helpful. The detailed documentation serves as a knowledge repository for physical components. I find the graphing plots very well organized. It's great that there's seamless connectivity to MATLAB/Simulink, which makes work processes like MIL, SIL, and HIL a breeze. The solving times are fast, and it's easy to export models as FMUs.

**What do you dislike about Simcenter Amesim?**

The signal routing feature using dynamic transmitters can be improved, especially the tagging feature. Currently, I have to manually tag transmitters and receivers, which should be more automated. The creation of super components could also be made more intuitive to edit, as it's tedious right now.

The vast library of pre-defined components allows us to model complex multi-domain systems (hydraulic, thermal, mechanical) very quickly. However, the standout feature for us is the co-simulation capability with STAR-CCM+. Being able to couple 1D system simulation with high-fidelity 3D CFD allows us to get the best of both worlds: the speed of system simulation and the accuracy of CFD for critical components!

Due to the immense number of libraries and specialized verticals, the learning curve can be steep for new engineers trying to navigate all available options. Also, keeping track of all the license features for specific modules sometimes requires careful management.

I appreciate Simcenter Amesim for its number of functionalities with built-in libraries. The general workflow also works well for me. I switched to Simcenter Amesim from OpenModelica for its faster deployment of simulations, and I found the initial setup to be quite straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Simcenter Amesim?**

It's very buggy, I feel like a beta tester sometimes. It can get quite slow with big datasets. The license server is unreliable - we lost countless hours of productivity. Documentation is quite weak. No generative options.

I use Simcenter Amesim for engineering tradeoff analysis, performance prediction, and digital twins.

What I like most about Simcenter Amesim is first of all the separation of topics in various libraries, electrical, thermal, mechanical etcetera. On top of that the detailed submodels that are available for complex systems, such as batteries and fuel cells. However in the end what keeps surprising me each time, is the level of documentation and relevance of the help function. An underrated functionality which is necessary for your day-to-day work.

All of this helps to create an environment which is easy to use, easy to implement and integrate your project deliverables. That's why I would recommend it to any beginning or experienced engineer who's to do simulations on physical systems.

Troubleshooting when a model fails to compile or run, it is difficult to find the exact cause of this

Wide variety of component libraries. Clear description of components  which can be dragged and dropped easily into the model. The post processing of data and model results is very easy as compared to other softwares.

One thing which I would prefer in Amesim is the possibility to write codes in a function. Sometimes coding can make development easy as compared to modelling.
