As for the simulations, they also have adequate fluidity and speed. **What do you dislike about Simcenter Amesim?** It requires a lot of time and study to master the software. Sometimes, the large number of solutions can be overwhelming. Despite having very extensive documentation, at times I have missed documentation aimed at resolving specific doubts of less experienced users. Lastly, the cost of the license is significant. **What problems is Simcenter Amesim solving and how is that benefiting you?** Optimization of fuel, hybrid, and electric propulsion systems. I model and simulate the behavior of these systems with the aim of understanding their behavior to improve their performance, energy efficiency, and emission reduction. You must go through the "Submodel Editor" tool, and it is not very intuitive. Like for cooling systems. **What problems is Simcenter Amesim solving and how is that benefiting you?** Thermal Management for Battery Cooling is the main application I'm using Amesim for. For that it's good that Amesim offers templates for battery models in different fidelities and allows me to build the whole cooling circuit around it. It's good interfaces to STAR-CCM+ are helpful in switching between simulation domains. Thermal discretization of the relevant parts of a battery system is a key aspect in this task. Mainly I liked user interface of AMESim. It is very neat, well arranged and attractive. It improved a lot from v12 to v16. I also had some hands on v2020. I found v2020 is almost similar to v16 look-wise. I used other 1D tools like GT Suite and Dymola. I felt AMESim is lot better than the other two. Also the subcomponents are well arranged in AMESim. the standard inbuilt library of AMESim is very large and consist of a lot of components **What do you dislike about Simcenter Amesim?** Compared to Dymola, AMESim is not open source type and we cant customize the subcomponents or change inbuilt equations of components. Also, the components of different libraries cannot be joined together in models, and hence we have to check each time from which library we took the particular subcomponent. for example, there are different types of pipes available in AMESim, which are speratly kept inside each librabries. so we have to open each pipe model help file to understand more about that. Also AMESim is not friendly for obtaining or copying data from plots. **Recommendations to others considering Simcenter Amesim:** AMESim is a very good 1D simulation tool, with a well developed standard library. **What problems is Simcenter Amesim solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am working in airconditioning department. I used AMESim for desiging of AIRconditioning systems. I model different componets like compressor, condenser and evaporator from specifications and then join together to form loop and then find the total system performance. Once you start creating your model with your working knowledge, It enlightens you with its results and gives you the feeling of "Wow, that is what I have been expecting from this". It has extensive libraries usable and applicable to many physical systems. I have used it mainly for a school project and I really think that It is the best solution out there. Even for a self-learner, I think you can easily get yourself started with it. I'd recommend it to anyone who is in this field. **What do you dislike about Simcenter Amesim?** It is sometimes difficult to find interactive resources where you can go and address your issues. So, It'd be good to have more training materials for new starters. I remember one time when I had an issue and I had difficulty finding a solution to the issue I was having with it. Although It took me a while, I still believe that It was part of my learning process. **What problems is Simcenter Amesim solving and how is that benefiting you?** In a project I was involved, we were asked to analyze a design challenge where we measured and analyzed the strength and forces on a boat part which is called boom. We worked closely with the client and AMESim helped us a lot in providing all the accurate results.
