## Simcenter Amesim Reviews
  ### 1. Needs Improvement Despite Strong Features

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Simcenter Amesim?**

I appreciate Simcenter Amesim for its number of functionalities with built-in libraries. The general workflow also works well for me. I switched to Simcenter Amesim from OpenModelica for its faster deployment of simulations, and I found the initial setup to be quite straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Simcenter Amesim?**

It's very buggy, I feel like a beta tester sometimes. It can get quite slow with big datasets. The license server is unreliable - we lost countless hours of productivity. Documentation is quite weak. No generative options.

**What problems is Simcenter Amesim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Simcenter Amesim for engineering tradeoff analysis, performance prediction, and digital twins.

**Official Response from Chiel Verhoeven:**

> Hi, thanks for your honest feedback, and although it's good to read you appreciate the features and libraries I feel sorry for the experience you describe. Please don't hesitate to contact our support engineers when you run into these issues in order to minimize the lost of your valuable time. On the documentation I'm curious what information is missing, feel free to contact me directly if you would like to further discuss.

  ### 2. Good results when it works. Software doesn’t handle large models well

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Simcenter Amesim?**

Explicit causality. Equations of models mostly available.

**What do you dislike about Simcenter Amesim?**

Does not handle large models well. API is weak (incomplete) and brittle. GUI and API performance can be poor. Model errors are cryptic and can be silly (discontinuities from dynamic saturation block input and limit being equal and moving together)

**What problems is Simcenter Amesim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fills a need for solid multi physics and thermal modeling.

**Official Response from Chiel Verhoeven:**

> Hi! Thanks a lot for your review, although it's a pity to see you're experiencing issues while using Simcenter Amesim. Our support engineers would be pleased to help you them, I can't ask them to directly contact you since the review is anonymous but please don't hesitate to contact them.
