What do you like best about Simcenter 3D?

Fairly easy to use and learn. Give the designer more tools to optimize the designs before the simulation team gets it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simcenter 3D?

It would be nice if there was a simpler way to connect models together to simulate welds. As soon as it is a multiple part assembly that is welded together or bolted you have to switch over to the regular FEA software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Yolanda Dong of Simcenter 3D

Alex, we're glad to hear that you find Simcenter 3D fairly integrated and easy to use. We appreciate your feedback on the need for more tools to optimize designs before simulation, and we will take this into consideration for future updates.

What do you like best about Simcenter 3D?

Simcenter 3D is directly connected to NX and Teamcenter so gives an easy route to created a simulation process that works as part of a digital thread connected to the overall design process. The interface is easy to adopt and the common interface with NX makes implementation straightforward, the manuals provide good support to the customer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simcenter 3D?

Simcenter 3D does not have the same strength in meshing and model build, especially for highly abstracted models, that some other preprocessors have. This means that other tools needs to be used frequently preventing it being used as the main simulation tool on a day to day basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Yolanda Dong of Simcenter 3D

Thank you for sharing your experience with Simcenter 3D. We're pleased to hear that the interface and integration with NX have made implementation straightforward for you. We understand your concerns about the meshing and model build, and we are continuously working to enhance these capabilities.

What do you like best about Simcenter 3D?

Good integration with NX, updates to geometry propagate to mesh, boundary conditions, etc. Meshing is good. Selection Recipies are very useful. Can be highly automated. Good post processing tools Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simcenter 3D?

Ansys integration is not complete. Could use automated BC setup similar to automated Selection Recipes from face names. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Yolanda Dong of Simcenter 3D

Steven, thank you for sharing your positive experience with Simcenter 3D, especially regarding the automated meshing and seamless integration with NX CAD. We understand the importance of complete Ansys integration and automated BC setup, and we'll work on addressing these areas for a better user experience.

What do you like best about Simcenter 3D?

Integration with Teamcenter to manage the data structures. Never leave the NX platform. A more rapid start to the Teamcenter Simulation Process Management paradigm. Understanding the products that Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simcenter 3D?

My users believe FEMAP is easier to use and more powerful for some workflows

It was fairly difficult to exit Ideas. Many didn't understand the Simcenter 3D rebrand and how it's still really the NX platform.

Licensing and royalties in Simcenter are difficult to remix products under license agreements. Make everything tokens with some surge capability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Yolanda Dong of Simcenter 3D

We're glad to hear that you appreciate the integration with Teamcenter and the rapid start to the Simulation Process Management paradigm. We'll take your feedback about FEMAP and the difficulties with licensing into consideration for future improvements.
