At the end of the day, Business Central is an enterprise-level ERP. Most cannabis-specific manufacturing systems simply don't provide the same level of functionality, detail, scalability, or support. One of the biggest strengths of BC is that it allows you to accurately track both inventory and costing at every level of the business. While there is certainly a learning curve and the processes can be more rigorous, the visibility and financial accuracy it provides are difficult to match. I am one of the directors of operations, and being able to look back at ledgers to track performance across periods is huge. This helps solve a lot related to variances, and production planning. The ability to leverage the integration to METRC is instrumental to our organization’s success in minimizing double touches that would lead to massive efficiency loss and risk of data accuracy in a high throughput distribution environment. It can at times be difficult to support system updates, but this is not a knock against the product - more difficulty in navigating this process with Microsoft products and their extensions. I use SilverLeafCBC as our ERP platform for our multi-state cannabis business, and I love how it integrates with Leaflink and Metrc, allowing us to house all our inventory movements and sales in one platform. Its seamless integration with Metrc is a huge plus, eliminating most double data entry and saving us time on production and order fulfillment processes. The platform's scalability and the powerful reporting capabilities with Power BI/Fabric are valuable to us. I also appreciate the automation functionality with Power Automate, which streamlines a lot of our processes. The support we received from Velosio/SilverLeaf during the initial setup made it pretty easy, and now our team can independently set up new companies as we expand. I appreciated how SilverLeafCBC helped us reduce the number of systems we were using and kept our inventory better managed. It also helped us leverage data and utilize traceability effectively. They were great at creating quick solutions for our fast-growing cannabis company, especially amid strict compliance rules. SilverLeafCBC mapped out features for us to grow into as the company expanded, starting with tracking basic data in Business Central, and allowing us to add data points and structure as we needed. The go-live implementation of the software went really well, and any hiccups were resolved over time. There were some constraints that came with implementing without some features enabled, such as advanced warehousing. The company wasn't ready for something like that at the beginning, we did grow to needing that feature, but adding it later would prove to be a challenge that ended up being put off until the transition to F&O.
