It's easy to use and very versatile allowing us to integrate new ways of processing parts or design in general. Have never had an issue with getting in touch with customer or tech support and they have promptly assisted us quickly. Considering we use this everyday it has been a quick learning curve for new programmers making it not only easy to integrate but as well as implement new standard practices for our business. **What do you dislike about SigmaNEST?** Cost is slightly higher but there's truly no substitute so well worth the cost. **What problems is SigmaNEST solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quickly generating dimensional parts for internal and external use, along with post processing for our actual CNC machines. ### 2. They use the problems to update their software and periodically they will put out a new version. **What do you dislike about SigmaNEST?** Sometimes the new version (changes) don’t apply to the work I do and I have to learn the changes to keep up with the software. **What problems is SigmaNEST solving and how is that benefiting you?** There is a command called “Old / New Move”. This saves me a lot of time and gets my job done quickly. Most of the time you do not have to think a lot on nesting odd shapes on odd offcuts. I also love that sigmanest keeps offcuts of different materials in a database. This makes us work more efficiently and keep a well-orgised workshop **What do you dislike about SigmaNEST?** Cad drawing tools need to be developed to enable easy drawing inside the software. Drawing in sigmanest is not easy. I have been using sigmanest for 3 years now and I always use different CAD programs to draw and modify parts. It would be nice to have a powerful cad system inside the software to help modify and draw complex cad geometry in the system **Recommendations to others considering SigmaNEST:** Just make the drafting a bit easier in sigmanest. Having a robust drafting system will be helpful. it would be nice if the program could integrate 3D printing. It would be nice to have all manufacturing programming could be done on one software. This will just make it easier than to use many different softawares **What problems is SigmaNEST solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sigmanest keeps a record of offcuts. This makes it easy to keep a record of all the material in the workshop and use up all the offcuts. The database of the material makes it easy to have a material report at the end of the month for the finance department with prices of the material. The feature on the left of your screen makes it easy to gather simple information about items in the workspace. The part details tab is also a very good feature in the program. I find myself on the phone answering questions about simple dimension questions for my customers. Inside Diameter, Outside Diameter, Length, Etc. **What do you dislike about SigmaNEST?** I really dislike how hard it is to navigate around the panels. There is so many ways of navigating around and getting to the same function. It gets overwhelming at times. Material costing when you bring in a job is usually off. I find myself doing mental math on a lot of the quotes I do when it comes to the material required for a job. The program sometime glitches out and we have to restart it in the middle of a quote or project. The compatibility with SigmaNest and SigmaMRP is my biggest issue with the program. **Recommendations to others considering SigmaNEST:** I would recommend taking a class or looking a few tutorials before really jumping in to the program. **What problems is SigmaNEST solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sigmanest shows me how to work quote jobs and charge for them in a affective manner. Sigmanest does like to keep users on updated versions of it's software for best support; this was a challenge for our business as it posed a risk during upgrade windows where custom integrations made needed to be watched closely. I've regularly called them with urgent, line down issues, where I got solutions same day. Sigmanest has brought Millions of dollars of value (annually) in increased material utilization with incremental man power reduction through process automation. The bump option in nesting should turn off intuitively when the user is trying to place a part in the nest. SigmaNEST was the plate processors main nesting and batching software. You could import model files or draw your own parts in it's AutoCad style design layout. The tube laser was a little different. SigmaNEST works as a backend software. The product is first ran through Solidworks and then processed and converted in SigmaNEST. **What do you dislike about SigmaNEST?** The functionality of SigmaNEST on the plate processeor was underwhelming. It had the look and feel of an AutoDesk program but very few design options. Adding a few more key features could easily cut the design time from hours to minutes. **Recommendations to others considering SigmaNEST:** Do your research. Make sure that the Sigma software you are looking into is the right one for you. **What problems is SigmaNEST solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are currently using Sigma software to shorten our production time. Time is money and if we can spend less time accomplishing the same overall task, that turns what is leftover into pure profit.
