What do you like best about SigmaNEST?

SigmaNEST has been very helpful over the years for our many CNC machines and programming needs. It's easy to use and very versatile allowing us to integrate new ways of processing parts or design in general. Have never had an issue with getting in touch with customer or tech support and they have promptly assisted us quickly. Considering we use this everyday it has been a quick learning curve for new programmers making it not only easy to integrate but as well as implement new standard practices for our business. What do you dislike about SigmaNEST?

What do you like best about SigmaNEST?

auto nest. This saves me a lot of time and gets my job done quickly. Most of the time you do not have to think a lot on nesting odd shapes on odd offcuts. I also love that sigmanest keeps offcuts of different materials in a database. This makes us work more efficiently and keep a well-orgised workshop Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SigmaNEST?

Cad drawing tools need to be developed to enable easy drawing inside the software. Drawing in sigmanest is not easy. I have been using sigmanest for 3 years now and I always use different CAD programs to draw and modify parts. It would be nice to have a powerful cad system inside the software to help modify and draw complex cad geometry in the system Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering SigmaNEST:

Just make the drafting a bit easier in sigmanest. Having a robust drafting system will be helpful. it would be nice if the program could integrate 3D printing. It would be nice to have all manufacturing programming could be done on one software. This will just make it easier than to use many different softawares Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SigmaNEST solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sigmanest keeps a record of offcuts. This makes it easy to keep a record of all the material in the workshop and use up all the offcuts. The database of the material makes it easy to have a material report at the end of the month for the finance department with prices of the material. "SigmaNest is okay"

What do you like best about SigmaNEST?

The best thing about sigma nest is the part parameters features within the program. The feature on the left of your screen makes it easy to gather simple information about items in the workspace.

The part details tab is also a very good feature in the program. I find myself on the phone answering questions about simple dimension questions for my customers. Inside Diameter, Outside Diameter, Length, Etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SigmaNEST?

I really dislike how hard it is to navigate around the panels. There is so many ways of navigating around and getting to the same function. It gets overwhelming at times. Material costing when you bring in a job is usually off. I find myself doing mental math on a lot of the quotes I do when it comes to the material required for a job. The program sometime glitches out and we have to restart it in the middle of a quote or project. The compatibility with SigmaNest and SigmaMRP is my biggest issue with the program. What problems is SigmaNEST solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sigmanest shows me how to work quote jobs and charge for them in a affective manner. It helps me plan for material usage and scrap usage as well. I have learned to poke around and make this program work to my advantage. For not having used this program in the past, if you poke around, you can easily find your way. What do you like best about SigmaNEST?

Great user interface, extremely capable technical support, wide range of services to integrate a range of machines and business planning softwares. They were also willing to work with us on on site training as well as remote to address urgent customer issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SigmaNEST?

Costs are higher than competition at similar service levels but worth the price. Sigmanest does like to keep users on updated versions of it's software for best support; this was a challenge for our business as it posed a risk during upgrade windows where custom integrations made needed to be watched closely. Recommendations to others considering SigmaNEST:

Be clear on requirements and be sure to leverage Sigmanest ability to integrate automation solutions, like automated work order loading, inventory management (new and/drops), and technical support/post development.

I've been in a position for my company to regularly and objectively review our continued use of this software. The key thing I would share is how this company supports it's customers. I've regularly called them with urgent, line down issues, where I got solutions same day. This is hard to put a value to but is key to partner with a supplier who will be there when you need them. Automated work order population, integration with new machine controllers. Sigmanest has brought Millions of dollars of value (annually) in increased material utilization with incremental man power reduction through process automation. Post processing development was also great to improve lead in/outs, stitch and common line cutting, as well as several custom programs to pilot advanced, lean manufacturing techniques to further improve costs and process times. What do you like best about SigmaNEST?

Easy to use

Creates perfect nests with minimum waste

Manages the work orders nicely

The best part - sigmanest is using SQL for data storage - so it is very easy to integrate into other systems for automation/scheduler.

nothing to dislike - a great software, does mostly everything profiling business needs

a little bit pricey, but it saves a lot of time and material with its automatic nests
