As an intern I enjoy reading job descriptions and understanding what others do at the company. It would be cool if there was a button that generated different types of people within the company that included there job title and a descrition of what they do. There's a lot of value in being able to put a face and some basic information to a name. I also constantly find myself Sifting Team Members to see what their tenure is with the organization. It's an important piece of information for some of the work that I do, and it isn't easily accessible elsewhere. I really like that I can keyword search and come up with common groups that weren't specifically delineated elsewhere. For example, I could search for "Cornhuskers" and find a group of Team Members who very likely have some connection to Nebraska. (I haven't used it for this function lately, but at one point I was trying to ID bankers with connections to different parts of the US and searching by and sports team names turned out to be a very effective method.) Adding the pronouns section was a huge improvement for a lot of people - and was big news for a community that I'm an Ally of. Thank you for doing that! **What do you dislike about Sift?** These aren't necessarily "dislikes", but more observations/suggestions. One thing I would love to be able to do with Sift that isn't usually possible is to identify Team Members (or teams) who are either dedicated to or experts in various technologies. If I'm looking for an engineer who's an expert on (hypothetical) "System A", or a team that supports that system, I don't have a great way to do that. I can search by job title, but that does very little to narrow things down. In my experience, this would apply mostly to Technology Team Members, as the example suggests. Another thought - and I don't think I've ever tried to do this, so Sift may already have this function without my knowledge - is I'd like to be able to search for people by their *former* job titles. It sometimes comes up that it would be helpful for me to track down a former underwriter, banker, etc. The only other thing that comes to mind is that I would make some of the tools in the Analytics section MUCH more visible. (I don't think it's widely known that that section even exists.) A specific example that has come up is that people like to be able to see who they started with is still with the company. I'm 99% sure I found a way to do that on Sift once, but I'd honestly need a few minutes to find it again. I'm not a huge fan of the new Org Chart function, which seems to require a lot of horizontal manipulation at times. **What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?** As mentioned in the previous section, I use Sift most often to identify Team Members, and also to learn about ones that I'm about to engage with. (I assume these would be considered "Employee Engagement" functions.) Along the same lines, you can often learn what people value based on their pics, background graphics, and the things that they've chosen to highlight as interests, or in their history. ### 19. Sift has created new friendships within our organization and help our team save time and money by leveraging skill from team members outside their circle. **What do you dislike about Sift?** While Sift has provided a gateway for team members to connect, the platform lacks an interactive aspect that could possibly be fun for users to explore. For example, a feature for users to "send stickers" or reward team members who have helped or connected with would be a great motivator for more people to ENJOY using SIFT. Another example, another motivator could be a SIFT reward system where users get points for more team members they connect with outside their circle. **What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?** A problem that Sift is solving for is creating bridges for people with different skills outside their circles to help break down road blocks. Another problem SIFT is solving for is breaking the mundane of every professional work by connecting with new people within a large company. And one more problem that SIFT has solved is reducing internal team member dependency. For example, in the case that an internal subject matter expert may be out of office for long periods of time and require a project to proceed without their expertise. ### 36. It's very friendly and easy to use and interact with it. Being able to see the position in the company of my colleagues and also being able to see their interests. **What do you dislike about Sift?** I think it misses a notice panel where the people from human resources could attach essential alerts and notices. Sometimes information get lost in emails and chats. **What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?** I think the main problem Sift is solving is transparency related to employees' positions and the full structure of the company. I do not see a place where your team or associated teams can validate your skills by linking projects, events, or company newsletters.
