"Shotcut delivers what I need for efficient video editing"
What do you like best about Shotcut?

Shotcut has become my preferred video editor for quick projects and content creation workflows. Its interface is intuitive, and it supports most video formats seamlessly. I particularly value that it's free and open-source, yet still offers professional features such as multi-track editing, a variety of filters, and reliable export options. For the kind of editing I need, Shotcut accomplishes everything efficiently without unnecessary complexity or costly subscriptions. I can quickly apply video actions, edit, export, and have my project ready, simple as that. There are weeks when I use it daily, but even on quieter weeks, I rely on Shotcut at least a couple of times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shotcut?

At times, the interface seems somewhat outdated when compared to more modern editors, and achieving some advanced effects or transitions can require extra effort. Preview playback may occasionally lag with larger files, but it has never been enough to disrupt my workflow entirely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Shotcut review: 4K editing without headache"
What do you like best about Shotcut?

Shotcut is the video editor which I work with 4K footage smoothly due to its GPU rendering support. It has an interface geared towards facilitating a very practical editing experience and a plurality of materials and step–by–step guides are also available online to help absolve most of the problems encountered during editing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shotcut?

It offers essential effects such as transitions and filters, but I would like to see a broader and more diverse collection that allows for more creative and customizable montages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Free tool to edit your videos. But you need to know your way around it"
What do you like best about Shotcut?

1. Completely free software

2. Uses the standard ffmpeg codecs. So, its very compatible with any version of Windows (i am a Windows user)

3. It Comes with a timeline editor. very intuitive to use

4. Save your video preferences to work fast.

5. Surprisingly lightweight considering the range of options it presents Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shotcut?

1. Very little to dislike. Since its a free software, you do not have much support in any event of data corruption

2. When you are working with multiple video tracks. sometimes the filters won't get applied in the final render. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I used it for simple tiktok videos and it had all the features I wanted from clipping to chroma key"
What do you like best about Shotcut?

I can easily add transition by overlapping two clips. After clipping a clip, I can extend it, also. The main advantage was its quality control during export. Compared with capcut it could add auto subtitle feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shotcut?

You should have prior knowledge of color grading to be able to use the color grading feature in shotcut. It doesnot have samples video where we can add video and it returns properly edited video. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Basic Video Editing Made Easy with Free & Open Source Shotcut Video Editor"
What do you like best about Shotcut?

- I can export high-quality video up to 4K easily.

- There are too many editing features like making overlays, blur effect, correcting fish eye effect, etc.

- Their support is very cooperative and very quick to solve our doubts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shotcut?

- There is limited transition so I can do basic video editing only in Shotcut.

- Their user interface is too old and a little bit tricky to understand and use.

- I can't able to upload external subtitle files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Video Editor For My Needs"
What do you like best about Shotcut?

I used to use Window Movie Maker, and once that was discontinued, I wanted something that was intuitive to use but also gave me more control as I became an increasingly sophisticated user of the program. Shotcut does exactly that. When I want to make something simple, it allows me to do that. And when I want to utilize the more complicated features, I'm able to do that as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shotcut?

It would be helpful to have more on-screen guidance regarding export formats. Sometimes, I'm not 100 percent sure which video format is best for my needs beyond knowing which is best for uploading to YouTube. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best free software for all Videography"
What do you like best about Shotcut?

The best part of the Shotcut software is that it is free. We don't have to pay anything, and we can edit the professional type of videos. There are many features such as applying filters, audio editing, and whatnot. It has all the features which any paid software has. Also, it is lightweight. A PC with the configuration of i3 and 4GB RAM can easily handle this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shotcut?

Nothing as such in the software. But it has ads on its website, which is very annoying. Also, It is free but if you download it from any app store it will cost you some 7$. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Shotcut: Excellent, Free & Advance All in One Video Editor"
What do you like best about Shotcut?

The most thing I like about Shotcut is, It is free to use and there are no charges like other software. Its UI is very interactive and easy to use so that anyone who is new on Shotcut can make videos easily. It can be used for basic as well as advanced video editing work. Thier autosave feature is very useful and so that we don't have to worry about our project file when its crash or lag. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shotcut?

Everything is fine in Shotcut but one thing that I don't like most is, the absence of pre-made templates inside Shotcut. If they provide pre-made templates then it will be good for all users to work on projects by spending less time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
