I got used to using Google's Inbox and loved it, only to have Google pull the rug out from beneath me. Shortwave integrates well with my Gmail account and provides me with what I had been missing since Inbox disappeared. Organizing by thread as it does is such a convenience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Shortwave? Unless I have missed something, I am unable to add my WiseStamp signature to my emails. I must add my customary signature individually for outgoing emails. Perhaps WiseStamp will add shortwave to its connections, but for now I have to load them manually for each outgoing piece. Nothing much. I tried this software thinking it would help me speed up accessing, reading, and working with Gmail but in reality, it did exactly the opposite. It slowed down the process, it did not help with stacking the conversation and I had to spend quite a lot of time in learning how this tool works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Shortwave? Almost everything. This layover has made my Gmail - with which I was very comfortable - clumsy, and harder to use. Not much. I often have to use Gmail account as well for my work and thought about improving its performance through Shortwave but that did not help and I had to delete it back. It makes it easy to check emails faster, with important ones coming on the top and getting highlighted and getting bundled. I love the threads feature which bundles the conversations of my team into one thread. Link to a thread also makes it easy to check the thread anytime. I can define roles for my team which replaces the need for slack software all the way. The dark mode is super amazing and soothes the eyes whenever I feel to switch to it. The corporate slang is conveyed by GIFs and it feels like the entire team is a family. Great product overall! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Shortwave? It is good but it doesn't make the overall work productivity. The productivity is the same as with Slack and hence many people inside the organization are not moving to Shortwave. It is solving the way our team is having conversations and it is making it easy. But replacing slack is difficult since it lacks a lot of features. Ui is very great, especially the grouping of the mail coming from the same provider. Compared to the Gmail google client it's a grouping of the email feels much more organized. It would be much better if they provides the proper Linux native application by packaging it as the electron app. I really wish It support other providers also. Previously whenever I want to delete the mail from some specific source, I have to search and then delete it by selecting all. It organizes the inbox in a user-friendly manner. And coming to e-mail threads, it arranges them as a chat-like box. By the way, I am not looking back to the old e-Mail clients after using this. Slack like additional features; hence doesn't feel like yet another boring email client. Also it feels much better to use in organization environemnt rrather than for personal use. And like everyting in this day and age, its subscription model puts off the prospective users. The best thing with the Shortwave platform is its manageability of the Gmail account, be it automatically sorting out the emails based on the categories or clearing the emails which are spam in nature. The few drawbacks include the inability to use multiple accounts at once on this platform which is a very must to have complete control over the Gmail accounts overall.
