## Shopify Reviews
  ### 1. Emotionally and Mentally Abused!

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa K. S. | Author, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

The layout of the site itself and how easy it is to use. I swear my site moves like melted butter and I love it. After using Wix for sometime and now experiencing Shopify I can tell you there is a huge difference. Not only that but people are buying our magazines and our merch, which NEVER happened on Wix. I guess Shopify's interface for ecommerce looks to be more friendly and trustworthy.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Where do I begin? First, the customer service is awful and I do mean dreadful, not as bad as Wix, but they do absolutely nothing to assist you. At one point I had to ask if my rep was a bot, I had to ask them if they were human because the responses were so robotic and devoid of any emotion. I had just spent 45 days transferring 1600 blogs manually from Wix to Shopify and I noticed that around the 300 blog mark the backend interface completely changed and the blog tool was almost non-functional. I wrote in and the rep said to me, "Wow! Your site is beautiful. I've never seen anyone use out platform for strictly blog content. This is a first." When he said this to me something went off in my head and I began wondering if they were sabotaging the blogs on purpose to get me to use a third party app. So after some time and me writing in every single day, like a light switch they changed it back to the original layout - the one that is functional and user friendly. By the time I transferred around 1300 blogs, the interface changed again. This time I wrote in and completed, they switched it back. Now I'm almost at the finish line, almost done with the transfer and boom, they switched it again. This time I write it and they say, "Well, nothing we can do." What are the issues now? The images are blurry on desktop. So when they upload through my files on Shopify, the images are purposely being compressed and blurred when published. The bullet points and numbering doesn't work - nothing get a bullet point at all. The spacing is terrible, if I space something too much it created this large white space that looks unclean. Images between the text can no longer be done either. When you high space between the image and the text the text beneath it shrinks! So the article will have some large text and some small text, completely unclean and unprofessional. Heading - we can no longer add H3 headings and H2 headings without the whole text duplicating the heading. Again, unclean. The whole blog function is useless. Now, I have had to resort to using a third party app which is an extra $25/month on top of $39/month for Shopify. I've already found a lawyer because if I'm paying to use a blog (a base function that comes with the platform) I shouldn't be forced to pay additional for an app in their app store to satisfy their partners. This was deliberate and clearly intentional and I should have known the second that rep said what he said to me. I have used Shopify on and off since 2007 and their blogs have NEVER changed, why would it? There was nothing wrong with it. I come along and now it's completely unfunctional. Shady business, shady business practice and unethical behavior. They will hear from my attorney.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are not solving anything. Over 30 days of begging and pleading, they have solved nothing. I finally realized that they wanted me to add this third party site who I am sure paid them well to mess up the blogs for stores they consider "heavy bloggers" to ensure these apps are paid well.

  ### 2. What happened to support? It's now non-existent

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sacha d. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Commerce and transactions work fine. Still clunky but fine.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

There is no longer any support. So you are on your own or have to hire a developer.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's the biggest e-comm platform so apps generally work well.

  ### 3. If you want to be Nickel and Dimed, Use Shopify

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aubrey K. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

There's lots of app plug ins available to customize the store to fit your needs, just be willing to pay way more than you budgeted for once you find out just how many apps you need to get your store to function properly (Shopify lacks a LOT of basic features).

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

The fact that anything useful requires a plugin app. We are on the professional plan due to sales volume, and are paying nearly double the original monthly app because we needed plug ins for shipping products, creating reports, bundling products, printing orders, selling digital products, and creating discount codes. Anything you think would be a basic feature is not and requires an extra fee.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify is a more modern version of an online store compared to the platform that we were previously using. We appreciate that customers can log in with accounts and see their purchase history.

  ### 4. Shopify - Complicated and unfortunately not a good fit for many small businesses as it once was

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

If a seller is someone who sells a limited number of items, Shopify may still be a good choice. It's an easy/easier way to rapidly launch a small store.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Over time, shopify has become much more complex and expensive. Long gone are the days where you quickly set up a store and start selling within a day using minimal addons. Now everything is done through more expensive addons with monthly fees and often requires the intervention of someone knowing specific coding.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Before considering shopify - understand the core needs of the business and how many addons you'll need to make the application function. It could rapidly add costs if not well thought out.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an agency, we only deploy shopify for people that are single item sellers (or selling a few items) - as it it relatively straight forward for such a business.

  ### 5. It was good at the beginning but then...

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fatih B. | Digital Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

It's most popular platform for ecommerce, this side is good. Also it's more integration and theme heavenly than the others. I also used some other platforms andi know they are really good, BUT!

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Almost everything with paid and it's not cheap. Also, they banned us for 2 times without any reason. We had all the legal papers, brand registration, company registration, etc...

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were thinking to solve our ecommerce sales problems with shopify bu we couldn't, sadly. We lost 3 months and lost almost 4.000 - 5.000 $ / per month. Plus paids we did to them...

  ### 6. Quick set up, nice payment processing, but lack of template customization makes it a no go.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel A. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Shopify works magnificently and is easy to use. I used Shopify for my first ecommerce website. I was looking for a low-bar entry with a number of easy to purchase templates that I could get up and running quickly.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

The reason I scrapped Shopify in favor of WooCommerce was due to Shopify's significant lack of customization. Every template I found, including purchased ones, lacked the look and feel for what I was going for. Shopify seems to be designed for a quick launch, but as a result they remove much of the customization that is needed for an advanced or even mid-novice ecommerce site.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

If you are looking for a simple, quick-to-setup ecommerce site then go with Shopify. However, if you are looking for customization and opportunities to grow, then be sure to evaluate other options.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I sell my brand of products on a number of marketplaces and have build a strong customer base. My goal was to cut out the middleman (marketplaces and their 15% fee) and provide a location for repeat customers to find my products. I was looking for a low-bar entry with a number of easy to purchase templates that I could get up and running quickly.

  ### 7. Costly good UI, easy to use software for e-commerce store management

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devendra Kumar P. | Digital Transformation Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Ease of use, good UI, intuitive and simple

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Cost
Support issues
Localization issues with regard to geographies, language

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Online e-commerce solution for online sales and shipping

  ### 8. Good option but not great

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** AUSTIN L. | Denver Forward Operating Base Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Shopify has a solid UI on the backend. It is easy to setup and provides some solid analytics. The settings for integrations to shipping is pretty solid, and the ability to control shipping zones is a great feature. Their marketplace of 3rd party apps is very robust. There is a quite a divide between good and bad apps. The good apps are really really good and typically priced reasonably.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

If you are looking to grow as a brand, this platform may not be for you. You cannot get any analytics from checkout. They limit this to only shopify plus clients. This is a major oversight and really hamstrings new businesses. They are not very good about creating solutions for their own platform. Instead, they just direct you to apps in their marketplace even when it should be something that should be included within shopify.

Also, they don't allow you to block IP addresses. This means and time your team visits your website to check functionality etc, their data will be applied to shopify analytics. This ultimate skews your data. If you are experimenting with the checkout process, this will negatively impact your conversion rate.

They also don't allow you to merge customer profiles. A customer can use the same card, address, etc and only change their email address. Shopify will create a new customer profile for them. You end up with quite a few duplicate customer profiles.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Really know what you need. If you need just a place to host a website and sell, then use shopify. If you are very analytical and want to really understand your sales funnel with robust data, look elsewhere.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use shopify for hosting our e-commerce store and for handling shipping. Shopify does have a pretty solid discount program when you are shipping through USPS. Shipping through UPS and Fedex is still absurdly expensive for small packages.

  ### 9. Shopify is cheap e-commerce platform

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanjay T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

easy admin portal and show good speed at work

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

privacy and fake sallers on shopify is dislike

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

globalization at e-commerce platform with easy operation

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Globalization in e sales

  ### 10. Shopify Not so simple

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikki G. | Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

It is a great way to sell online without having to hold your own inventory BUT.....

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

They say that it is simple, easy & they even offer a free trial to see and make sure that e commerce is gor you.
I sell on 3 different platforms/have 2 boutiques and have been doing it for over 3 yrs now.
So I thought It was time to move up a notch.
I personally don't like the very small amount of templates that they give you to choose from for your personal store or website.
I understand its a free trial.
Its also most peoples dream that are interested to have their own store or website online.
So anyway, it is not quite as easy to navigate through.
I had started the free trial with plans on keeping it.
Just needed a feel and learn more about it.
I am not bashing the website or idea but my experience with shopify's attributes and benefits but mostly customer service was terrible.
I don't Ever leave bad reviews I guess to sum it up, its not as simple as it promotes, they do not stop harrassing you if you want to cancel your membership and close your store regaurdless of the reason but i will it 3 ☆☆☆'s

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Research more about it before you use this particular ecommerce. Be extremely knowledgable about what you're getting into .

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits are that you pretty much have an idea of your own store ready made and inventory storage.
You sell, they hold inventory and ship for you.

  ### 11. comfortable for a first site, but NOT worth it. support declined over the years I used shopify

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

very easy to set up, minimal coding knowledge required, no google errors or coding issues using shopify theme templates. UPS shipping option

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

support got worse & worse over time. shopify implemented a major change/upgrade to backend during holiday season that ended with my site not allowing customers to make purchases

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Try out woocommerce even if you are new to site design. Plug-ins simplify woocommerce to comparable levels

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

more issues than benefits. not worth the cost compared to woocommerce and other competitors

  ### 12. It’s okay

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I like that it’s simple to use and navigate. They walk you through how to do everything.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

I dislike the cost of the website. It’s not expensive, but it’s still a little steep for me.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Weight out all your options

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m a new user to Shopify, but I like how they keep track of important stuff

  ### 13. Less intuitive than you'd expect

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Shopify has a huge online community and tons of resources to leverage. They also have excellent customer service.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Shopify is known for being an easy to use ecommerce website builder... right? Well for someone who isn't adept at writing code, it can be extremely challenging to navigate. I don't recommend for someone creating their first website.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily navigating the transition from a basic website that functions like a landing page, to a more sophisticated site where customers can browse products, pay, and checkout.

  ### 14. Not a Fan, Prefer Squarespace for Retail

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I liked all the claimed features Shopify offers to retailers via plug-ins.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

I really didn't like the user experience. It was old, outdated, ugly, difficult to navigate. Very clunky UI, and not a fan that all the features I wanted to use were plug-ins, some of which you had to pay for. It wasn't as intuitive and streamlined as Squarespace, which made me not want to switch over.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

I'd recommend checking out other website-building platforms before Shopify, specifically Squarespace. They've improved their retail offering to meet a lot of the needs people were going to Shopify for. I've also had a lot of friends using Shopify complain about how difficult it is to update things on their website, and add new features.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to use Shopify as a platform for my website but ultimately decided against it.

  ### 15. Shopify experience

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Being able to drop items directly where u need them.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

The ease of use is a little difficult for non tech users

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Have everything in place, including pictures and descriptions to move along faster

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Where to allocate resources solved

Cost analysis benefit

  ### 16. Cheap to start, gets more expensive with every add you buy on app store

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bradley R. | Owner, Sports, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I like its simple, how it works and style.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Its expensive to own, all based on subscription every month

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Consider starting trial, but do consider your price when you put everything together ( apps on app store ) and is it worth a value

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stopped using it, moved to cheaper solution, or more cost effective

  ### 17. Great idea but..

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Luxury Goods & Jewelry | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I like the ability to create your website and also have a shopping cart

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

The pricing is way too high. It seems user-friendly but in reality it’s not. They advertise it as similar to a plug-and-play website and you need a little bit more than that. If you’re at home based business it’s not worth the money you put into it unless you’re going to be making thousands upon thousands of items each month. Setting a site up a site is very complicated and time consuming.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It didn’t solve anything. It wasn’t cost effective.

  ### 18. Have to be 100% invested

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel P. | Associate, Investment Banking, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I like the fact that shopify allows the user to create a website and online store in a matter of minutes. The fact that it allows so many free plugins to be used on the platform allow even a novice to start up right away.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

It can get costly fast. If you do not keep up the work and maintain your site to sell goods, that 30$ fee each month can quickly add up fast.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Be sure you know what you want and where you want to take your company quickly. I recommend having multiple social media sites to run side by side shopify.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seamless interaction with the plugin oberlo. It allows me to dropship at less then the click of a button.

  ### 19. Shopify review

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

The features and add-ons I can have is what I like best.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

I dislike the complexity of adding codes in order to obtain these features. Not all features are free.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Online store. Benefits include easy shipping.

  ### 20. Shopify Review

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I liked that it was aesthetically pleasing to use.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

The interface wasn't super intuitive to figure out at first. It took some getting used to.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

That they read up on other similar companies' success before deciding whether or not to implement.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increasing user engagement and tracking users.

  ### 21. Really Basic eComm

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Simple to use and easy to set up. Was so simple I think a child could set it up. Nothing to patch or upgrade.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Nothing really, pretty straight forward.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

I have looked at other platforms, but this one seems to be the easiest to use.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple eComm store. That I needed a simple eComm store, and well Shopify was the right choice.

  ### 22. My experience with Shopify

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danny G. | Sr. ColdFusion Developer / Web Developer / Social Media Strategist, Newspapers, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I don't really like much about the platform, since there are better solutions as plugins through Wordpress...

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

The cost is the biggest dislike. I feel it isn't competitive in pricing compared to other solutions.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

I would look into other solutions and compare pricing. Look at Wordpress and the various e-commerce plugins there.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My experience with Shopify was in setting up an e-commerce solution for Top Shelf Vaping. They no longer use it. :(

It's was the first solution I found via a Google search and well before I became familiar with Wordpress and WooCommerce.

  ### 23. Great software, average hardware

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan E. | Registered Nurse, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Spotify makes it simple to categorize and find a lot of products by picture. It is an easy interface to learn and makes it easy to train new people to use. You can see at a glance inventory levels for each product and categorized, filter and search for products. It stores and recalls customers quickly. The app works well on my old iPad 3, runs smooth and loads quickly.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

The hardware is buggy, the swipe reader didn't respond 1/2 the time and has to be unplugged and plugged in again to work. Not a deal breakers but for me the card swipes upside down (mag strip up) and it always bothered me a little. Moving to chip introduced a wireless device that has a horrible battery life and drains my iPad faster to with more wireless options enabled. I now have to carry a big battery back-up and two power cords as AC is not available to me when I making sales. After adding 7 more locations I am finding it harder to track over all inventory.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Keep a battery handy or a power source close by, as this chip tech become wide spread the battery life will be eaten up fast.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am tracking sales and inventory and have realized the shopify system is easily scalable, I am still struggling to keep up with inventory and have abandoned the app in favor of a good old spread sheet.

  ### 24. Ok for beginners. Needs more features.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Easy to use, clean templates, managable for novices.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Difficult to edit variations after publishing without deleting everything and starting over.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Use wix with a shop app.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needed an online shop that could integrate with facebook.

  ### 25. Shopify Review

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas K. | Visual Development Artist, Entertainment, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

I liked shopifys interface, but overall it was not my favorite platform to use on a consistent basis. BUT the colors and design of the site are miles about other sites

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

It seems like other platforms were more evergreen and would be around a little longer, I really wanted to use shopify to integrate into my squarespace store but that process was so confusing and not intuitive that i gave up.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

It is a good platform if you are looking to have a lone shop URL, but if you want a store that connects with your website than i dont hink this is the best solution

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am selling original art through a website and I need something that will allow me to quickly add products, get shipping and email newsletter information as well as take out a reasonable but not substantial cut.

  ### 26. Great tool

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2017

  ### 27. Some good, some bad, some ugly

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allison K. | Graphic Designer, Apparel & Fashion, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

The interface is well designed and easy to use, and it has the capacity to handle different styles and types of listings easily. It works seamlessly with Wanelo and Facebook which are excellent revenue streams for growth.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

It's difficult to manage large inventories or varying inventories and it doesn't play as well with mobile as I'd like. The search functions through shopify are entirely useless so plan to build or budget to have someone else provide a search functionality.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Build better search functions, build better mobile support for listings.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are listing a large and quickly changing inventory, which is great as this tool works automatically with the other third party tools we have, however it's not built to intuitively handle the magnitude of listings we have and the search function is awful.

  ### 28. Short, sweet, Shopify!

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

It's easy to upload items and has a quick check out too!

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

The use interface is a little lack-luster

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software streamlined my product placement and delivery.

  ### 29. Good for large business, I'm a small business.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

The many options that were given to me as a business owner.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

There was just too much for me. I am a small business owner and did not need most of what was given.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organization was what I got it for most.

  ### 30. Irritating, older interface

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Great, excellent customer support but always so many issues.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Design limitations/difficult for all users to understand how to use it. User training could be better.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Be prepared to spend some time learning how to use it. You can't just learn as you go like other systems allow you to. Getting trained on how to use it would be very useful.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to sell products online to many consumers.

  ### 31. Shopify to Collect Payment for Medical Equipment

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Ability to collect payment from credit cards

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Ran into a lot of user issues, inability to collect payment without good wifi connection

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We no longer use Shopify and use Square instead, Square is much more user friendly.

  ### 32. Shopify

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nithin R. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

The idea of not having to build a web site for ecommerce is definitely my favourite.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

Sorting the products in the initial line is not easy which is a weakness.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

Ease of use for anyone familiar with the most basic use of software. Anyone and I stress anyone can easily run a shop on the system.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eCommerce which is hosted and secure

  ### 33. A software that has so much potential in the Design aspect, but fails to do so.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

Everything not in the design part of the software.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

The templates and how they are not very manipulatable.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running the business' website.

  ### 34. There's better e-commerce software than Shopify.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | Owner/Website Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

The price isn't bad, but you get what you pay for.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

There's a steep learning curve to learning how to set everything up. There aren't many free templates, and the ones that aren't free cost too much. I prefer using J2 Store, which is a Joomla e-commerce solution.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

I wouldn't recommend it.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying to get more clients.

  ### 35. too basic

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

its simple but seems just very basic so anyone could use it.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

It was too simple and basic to be a good representative of our product.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

If you have a product to sell it may be simple enough for you.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sales and rentals. The benefit is its easy but its just too basic.

  ### 36. not a huge fan.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

the end product has the potential to be beautiful.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

the signup is misleading. the price : to advertised services ratio is not what i thought it would be.

**Recommendations to others considering Shopify:**

the interface isnt' the easiest to use, be prepared to get friendly with tech support.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i wanted clients to be able to purchase services on the website, i liked that i didn't have to pay transaction fees.

  ### 38. useful

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Individual & Family Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2017

**What do you like best about Shopify?**

For a bare-bones e-commerce platform, shopify does the trick.

**What do you dislike about Shopify?**

The design is very dated - nothing modern.

**What problems is Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

e-commerce
