the system is very user friendly but bad customer service. when call the support and the guy told me that when i don't have internet at the restaurant i should shut down. he lost my business right away!

needs offline mode, not just black screen.

The reporting features could use some additional options, modifier menus on POS could use the ability to customize a bit more.

I inherited a system when I bought a restaurant.  We used it for 2 months before we had to switch.  It was not user friendly and we found that having handhelds was crucial for our business model.

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

The reports were not helpful, no online/cloud based service, no handhelds, older interface was not user friendly.

I switched to toast as soon as possible.

Inventory option. Countdown on certain items.

I wish there were a search option instead of tabs. Basically search it by name instead of using the tabs. It's still easy to use and easy to train an employee on it but for those not very tech savvy the search by name would be helpful.

Only issues I've had were network issues and it was both on my part and harbortouch. Communication to troubleshoot is on point. As long as they aren't super busy.

**What do you like best about SkyTab?**

Being a user for over a decade, I've been able to see a lot of ways this software has been able to perform for my restaurant.  The BEST part is it presents a lot of options when creating an item and very easy to set up time frames for special pricing.  The reports are easy to run and read.

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

With all the flexibility in this, sometimes I feel like you have to be really computer savvy or almost like a programmer to understanding how things may need to flow to get it to work a very specific way.  However, I have been able to train my management team to understand most of it so far.

**What problems is SkyTab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a restaurant, it does its purpose and runs rather smoothly without crashing or too many questions coming up about doing basic things.

**What do you like best about SkyTab?**

Harbortouch is easy enough to navigate. You’ve just got to get the hang of it. That takes about 5 shifts. The screen is easy to look at (it’s not jumbled or chaotic).

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

It doesn’t show full sales until tips are put in & finalized. It’s easy to press the wrong payment & there’s no way to go back. Transferring tabs is way too difficult because it gives too many options. The program looks like a book because it’s got so many explanations and no easy to click buttons.

**Recommendations to others considering SkyTab:**

When you have free time, you have to keep playing around with all the features  because there’s a lot, and it takes a while to learn. Not very easy to understand.

**What problems is SkyTab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to ring in things to see the price before I have to finalize the sale.

**What do you like best about SkyTab?**

It is easy to use for employees. It has many options that allow you enter items fast. Features such as splitting checks and splitting payments are very easy and this is important because it can be time consuming. Customer service at Harbor Touch is quick to help If any issues need to be resolved. 

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

From an owners perspective the set up is very time consuming and not very user friendly especially if you have many menu options. Instructions are not very straight forward and can be difficult to understand many steps and terms. Once you do get things started it requires a lot of memorizing certain steps. 

**Recommendations to others considering SkyTab:**

Customer service is great ! Harbor Touch is great for large or small businesses and can be customized to fit your needs. Having organization prior to set up is recommended. Inputting things by menu items or alphabetical depending on what’s best for your establishment. Getting employees to offer input about what’s easier and faster for them can help with this as well. 

**What problems is SkyTab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The 24 hour customer service is usually very quick to answer and help with any issues. They are patient  and friendly. Credit card voids , connection issues and printer connections have been issues I have had to contact them about and they are usually fast about fixing any problems.

**What do you like best about SkyTab?**

Pretty easy to use, but could be better. I think he is reliable. Good thing it supports chip card processing. Restaurant Manager has all the necessary POS features that we need. I really like the inventory function, which helps me track my stock levels. I also liked features such as: booking management, personnel management, waiting list management, etc.

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

There are not enough pos connections to their own account. Sometimes it freezes or slows down, but this is for a split second. The initial setup was a bit complicated, and its first use was not the easiest.

It was used for personnel management, inventory management, kitchen management, booking management, etc.

**What do you like best about SkyTab?**

The hardware for the pos terminals are fairly nice and it's very rare when we have to recalibrate the touchscreen, and it stands up to a lot of abuse.

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

The back of house reporting system lacks the ability to refine search abilities, has too many glitches with batching out daily reports, it's hard to pull up a detailed report after only 30 days, constantly having to call the support rep to archive tabs because it's slowing our system down and servers are having to wait to open or close tabs

**Recommendations to others considering SkyTab:**

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this brand as I feel there are too many glitches with the system and less reporting and detail options than the bigger brand names.

**What problems is SkyTab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not necessarily solving any business problem with restaurant manager but any restaurant pos is making it easier to communicate orders with either the kitchen or bar to get items completed in a timely manner as opposed to writing an order out and taking it to appropriate sections.  We had started using tablets with restaurant manager about 2 years ago and the great benefit is that it has cut down on time per order vs. the time that the customer has to wait.

**What do you like best about SkyTab?**

I use the Posi-touch system in a restaraunt. Therefore, I really appreciate that it makes it possible for me to quickly put in or pull up an order, print out a check, and get people what they need quickly. Especially when people are lining up to use it, it makes it very convenient to click and go. I also found that is is easy to use and user friendly. Learning how to use it and where everything was took only a couple shifts and then I was using it flawlessly. This is very important in a fast paced setting where people can't take a long time on the system. We also used a rewards system which we scanned a customers card or put in their number and the system would automatically tell us how many points they had. It was easy to use compared to other rewards systems I have used. You could easily see the floor plan of the restaurant and see which tables were sat, needed to be cleaned, and were open. The system was also used for takeout orders, delivery orders through third parties, and sending orders to the kitchen. Clocking in and out took only a few seconds. 

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

The only dislike I have is that the screen looks a little out dated. I would think it could be improved by putting a modern touch on it.

I would recommend this product to others who are working in the restaurant industry if they want something that is easy to use and will increase productivity and sales. 

**What problems is SkyTab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have solved issues relating to time management, training, and ease of use. Some people who struggle with technology have shown that the Positouch system is easy to use. When training individuals in our work place, it is simple to explain how to carry out tasks on the posi system. In regards to time management, the system is easy to use which allows people to perform their tasks quickly.

it was our POS system. It work like a charm fora while but it got too antiquated

You can easily add items change prices dial in from outside to check in on a problem.

The system crashes once in awhile. Some commands should be allowed without a need for a swipe card

This software is the easiest to navigate of all restaurant software I ever used. It has so many options for modifiers and can be used by all front and back of the house staff members

The calibration sometimes was off so you would think you hit one option and a different option would be selected

Super easy to use and can be learned within a few hours just by poking through the touch screen.

No more writing any tickets or seating charts, could keep track of inventory so no more saying "sorry we ran out of what you ordered."

Extremely operator friendly - once we had our menu programmed, we have had very few issues on the operator side

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

Some of our managers are not great at adjusting this product for customization - this is probably a reflection of our training, but it is certainly easier to use on a plug and chug system rather than when making adjustments

**Recommendations to others considering SkyTab:**

make sure you see the newer, up and coming brands of POS systems.  I have not been on the service side of the F&B world in a few years, but at the NRA show in Chicago I see more and more brands popping up every year.  In 2018 there are so many POS providors that if you don't do your homework you're going to be in trouble.  I think Positouch is good to use as a baseline for evaluating other POS

We were very rudimentary - we needed to replace pen and paper with a system that would help automate our processes

Very easy to use. Easy to train new employees on. Menu items are organized. Easy to follow what questions an employee may have forgot to ask as far as menu item prompts.

It will say credit cards are ready but the system may have crashed. It sometimes freezes easily which causes a reboot of the system to be necessary.

Very easy for employees to use. It is easy for employees to train on. Easy to organize menu items.

**What do you like best about SkyTab?**

Once the employee is accustomed to the organization of all drink and food products, it is very straight forward.  It is rare that the software will have a glitch or freeze.

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

It does freeze and shut down randomly at times, but very rarely.  I am not sure if this is just the way that my manager has the system set up, but I wish that I had the access to input "open food" and "open drink" charges.  I also do not like that I have to manually apply discounts with only certain items.

**Recommendations to others considering SkyTab:**

The owner of my restaurant does not always have positive reviews about the Harbortouch Customer Support team.  But the actual software is exactly what we need, and my restaurant is happy with it.

**What problems is SkyTab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have worked with other POS systems that are more complicated and unorganized.  It is organized pretty consistently and rarely presents technical issues that would affect the rate, efficiency, and quality of service as a bartender or server.

Honestly, there is nothing I can think of that I genuinely like about POSitouch except that I like touch screen systems.

It makes the job unnecessarily difficult. Everything takes extra steps to complete in comparison to other systems I have worked with. Just the fact that it logs you out every time you complete a task is a waste of time.

Get Aloha instead.

I love how easy it is to program. Also there is no error when you tape what you need there is no error either.

I do dislike how easy it is to get around the program without a security code.

No business problems with this system. Definetly has worked better that a paper check system. We can see our inventory. Even out projected profits

**What do you like best about SkyTab?**

I love the options and ease in populating restaurant data into graphs. Monthly and biweekly data reports for sales, payroll, waste management, inventory, etc. all populate during the closing of each night's session from your cash registers.

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

It can be tedious to have to close all the windows or turn off the screen everytime I leave the office. It would be nice to be able to lock the account with ease and reaccess it with no network problems.

If you are just starting your business or in need of some hr assistance, restaurant manager is ideal.

**What problems is SkyTab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Restaurant Manager is literally, my restaurant's manager. There is no paperwork involved in my nightly closing process. Deposits to the bank and ensuring employees get paid properly are all made more accurate with this software.

Working with several different restaurant pos systems I found this one to be very simple and basic.

There is tons more that could be added to make the screens flow better

Research other pos systems, before choosing this one. After working with several different ones, this one may seem simple and easy to navigate. Restaurant manager doesnt have some of the newer advancements others do.

The simplicity of POSitouch made learning it very easy when I worked in the food service industry.

The colors would actually really bother me sometimes. The interface made me feel like I was using a product from the early ‘90s.

It was pretty easy to use. Easy to memorize screens because items rarely moved.

Some days it would drag and work slow, made it difficult especially in busy times.

Speed and contrasting colors. Also, the reports are detailed and easy to understand.

Having to go to the office to change anything. Having to refresh the whole system. Having to do this during meal rush if anything goes wrong.

Consider what you have now versus positouch. If you can, have your rep let you run functions side by side.

Labor. It can save a ton of labor if used correctly.

I enjoy the easy of creating sub levels for the format that we currently require while in the hospitality service.

Systems work ring on an open circuit meaning when one computer, handheld freezes, shuts down, requires reboot, all others are included.

**What do you like best about SkyTab?**

It is simple to use and good for small business. However when you need advanced features and customization it can be lacking and frustrating. Pretty straight forward however. 

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

Lack of advanced programming and easy data base management. Also could use better graphics or "sleeker" look. 

**Recommendations to others considering SkyTab:**

Simple but maybe too simple. Needs more customization, better screen function and management, also more intuitive features for dining such as specials and better table management. Maybe some of this is offered however support and training were lacking at the time of use. 

**What problems is SkyTab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inventory, POS solution, drawer balance and management.

**What do you like best about SkyTab?**

Not much. I have used many POS systems as both a bartender and restaurant manager and PosiTouch is the most customizable...but to a fault.  Once you finally get everything entered into the system, the inventory software is very good.

**What do you dislike about SkyTab?**

It takes ages to set up.  The IT support is, at best, decebt when it finally arrives.  It is a very hard system to use for newcomers of the way a POS operates.  It has so many options for so many things that it's attempt to be universally customizable just recedes into chaos.

**Recommendations to others considering SkyTab:**

Go with Aloha. I've used them all and it's the best.

**What problems is SkyTab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A POS (point of sales) system is what almost all restaurants use to send information to all staff members about what is needed and when, as well as keeping an inventory of all goods and services.
