Best thin ShareX provide is the you can direct edit on your screen and then capture the screenshot. I hate it when I spend too much time on screen recording ann when I try to save the video, it stops after some percentage and I loose my all work on that video. ShareX is more than just a screenshot tool, it can record video, annotate, and upload to the cloud. I find myself using the annotation tool a lot. It allows me to draw and write on the image, blur out sensitive information, and even crop. All of that is done before the picture is saved, which saves a lot of time for me. I don’t have to use any other external program after taking the screenshot because ShareX has all the tools for me there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about ShareX? The settings or configuration that I set in my ShareX program keeps resetting itself to factory when I restart my computer. For example, I lose the setting where the images are saved and so are my cloud uploaders. I have asked the developer about this and their only solution was to use a preview version of their software, which didn’t fix the problem. I love the annotation tools on ShareX. It makes things a lot more efficient because I don’t have to go through another photo editor after taking the image. Their cloud upload options allowed me to automatically save my images to Google Drive and S3, which makes for easy access everywhere. This makes my work flow much more quicker and easier. ShareX for me is not just a simple tool for capturing screenshots but a real godsend for those who, like me, are forced by work to perform various screen captures (in the field of computer forensics, for example) or short video clips to create internal tutorials and procedures to share with colleagues or other users. I really appreciate the integrated and free video and screenshot editor that allows you to crop, blur, underline, and add annotations without having to download heavy video editing software or photo editing programs. The auto-upload mode to YouTube with specific video privacy settings is perfect for saving time in creating and uploading a large number of video clips. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about ShareX? Some updates are not correctly notified by the automatic update system despite having been given all permissions for automatic execution at startup and the download of new software with subsequent installation by the administrator. This is a problem already reported by many users that I hope will be resolved because often the auto-upload to YouTube stops working, and it becomes necessary to visit the developer's page to understand whether a new version of ShareX has been released or not, and then update it manually, resulting in a loss of valuable work time. Recommendations to others considering ShareX: Remember that once started and closed or minimized, the ShareX icon will be present in the tray at the bottom right of Windows, and with a right-click you will be able to access the full capture menu or quickly capture the current screen. Mainly, it has been very helpful to me, as already mentioned, in the creation, editing, annotation, but especially in the auto-upload of new tutorial videos that we share internally with employees and colleagues or within internal wiki pages showing procedures. The auto-upload and auto-setting on YouTube (complete with a template for the title and automatic video description) allows us to save, according to my rough and personal estimate, about 2 working hours a day and many privacy errors that occur during batch uploads on YouTube.
