"Easy to share docs in corporate environment "

What do you like best?

The fact that the recent integration with the Office365 portfolio happened, made it easy to deploy and incentives the day to day use of the product. For example, using MS Teams, you can transparently create content on SharePoint, and take vantage of the robustness of the platform.

What do you dislike?

From the infrastructure administration point of view, it can be a little tricky to run version updates in huge databases. You need to plan ahead, because it can take a lot to conclude.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I’d say that at this point, you should start using SharePoint integrated with MS Teams. It’s the easiest way to increase adoption.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We dream to shutdown the outdated “file server” and “ftp server” in our organization, because those services are very complex to deal, specially during these days of cloud computing. So, we wish one day we would be able to replace them for SharePoint across all the company.

What is SharePoint?

Compliance Everywhere. Manage versions, apply retention schedules, declare records, and place legal holds, whether you're dealing with traditional content, Web content, or social content.

"A very Friendly Document sharing platform useful to export our wiki sites"

What do you like best?

The best part of this platform is the very easy UI that it has and the way that can be used for our team needs for sharing documentation of our applications, websites, our Wiki site and much more. The website works flawlessly together with our exports and can integrate with most of Microsoft Office tools to edit the files or sharing them. You can also do some Project Management activities and file sharing together with Team Foundation Services and this platform; Some of these are sharing of Burndown charts, Bugs and others.

What do you dislike?

The site can be a little hard for navigation and visualization of thumbnails for documents so you know if the document you selected is the correct one before opening. Needs some more modernization on the UI, although is easy to pickup, the actual quality of life improvements that could be done on it are needed.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Share point is a great tool to share documentations, processes, file tracking and maintenance of all the information of your projects. Its a great tool, but more useful when integrated with other tools like Team Foundation Server or other Microsoft tools.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Sharing the documents needed by all team members through a stable environment and easy to understand.

Sharing sites from the internal resources such as our Wiki From Jira, TFS or other corporate tools to this platform and always have a tracking of all sites needed on a daily basis for all team members.

Share Business related materials, such as project goals, timelines and others.

"SharePoint can make your business teams do business better and efficient."

What do you like best?

Thanks to SharePoint team members can easily remain connected while being able to share files and updates throughout app development project rather than using other applications. Moreover you can build lot of custom features and give your app an array of custom tools. SharePoint is an ideal collaboration platform include managing permissions, ability to see all the subsequent editing and revisions made to any document and different layers of security both at the level of document and the overall app level.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes It takes cost to implement and customize.Besides Search is somewhat difficult and Website support is gone.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It does not need to concern the actual size of the company. SharePoint is a platform which help you build with what you need with it.

I can easily find the most up-to-date version of documents using SharePoint. Most importantly mass communication makes much easier using yammer in SharePoint. With SharePoint, I could get the Office 365 suite as well. The Office 365 suite offers a variety of applications. So it makes easier to me finding everything you need in once place with these SharePoint Solutions. It will increase your productivity, improve your communication as well. Finally the new version of SharePoint also comes with an improved mobile experience so i can easily access the solution from mobile and tablet devices and it'd help me in many ways to do my works.

"Dashboard to display everything at One Place"

What do you like best?

There are many things that i like about Sharepoint but the best thing is its security part means provide an ability to protect the data from unauthorize use. We can secure any folder and any file from unauthorize access and provide access to any file to any particular user.

What do you dislike?

There are many advantages of any software but every software must have some disadvantages and the thing that I don't like about Sharepoint is its implementation cost which is so high. Other thing that i don't like about this software is its searching ability as to search any document uploaded to sharepoint site is difficult to find.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Best Dashboard solution to any company to display

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

There are many problems that are solved by using Sharepoint and some of them are mentioned below:

1. In any organisation security is the main concern and sharepoint have that ability to secure its data from any unauthorized access means you are able to authenticate the user which user has access to which file or folder.

2. Next benefits is its user friendly behaviour means any user can build any business solution without need of developer. A user can also easily build any solution as per their needs without need of any developer which benefits them with cost also and they need not to hire any developer to build any small solution.

3 One more benefit I have realized is its site consolidation means ability to incorporate all websotes under one platform.

"SharePoint."

What do you like best?

SharePoint us a tool we are using currently across the entire institution. This tool is being used as our of our document management software.

I like that this software had improved communication in a great way. This is through it a central platform where people share the information rather than sending each individual an email which is tedious and time-consuming. With this tool, we are able to communicate in real time. It also helps in improving teamwork given that through this platform it allows all of us to be on one page.

I like that it allows for collaboration . The tool allows for the collaboration of users such that one can invite other people who you are working with to work on the same document at the same time. This saves time and improves teamwork.

I also like the fact that it has advanced editing tools. the wide variety of editing option helps one in creating a catchy document and at the same time allowing us to remain professional.

SharePoint provides us with a central platform where we are able to access all our files. This makes it easy for even one to track files and easily make changes if need be. It also makes us remain organized.

SharePoint is a good document sharing platform. With it, we are able to share files easily and quickly. It allows for real-time sending of files.

What do you dislike?

SharePoint is not good in handling large files.

I also do not like the automatic search tool of the software, it is slow.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

SharePoint is one if the best document management tool specifically in sharing of files. It us reliable, affordable and easy to use.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

SharePoint is helping solve problems in document management. It is also helping us communicate in real time.

"Document Sharing Just Became Easier With SharePoint"

What do you like best?

SharePoint is basically a software used to share document within a particular organization. I like SharePoint for its easy to use interface and also has an attractive software layout. Sharing documents on SharePoint is reasonable fast. Apart from document sharing, SharePoint allows on to create websites without much of a struggle. You do not need much knowledge in programming to design a website/page on SharePoint. Document can be easily shared among team workers/ group workers and this fosters creativity, collaboration and exchange of ideas. It is also possible to store shared documents on SharePoint. In addition this, SharePoint is compatible with most browsers.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes i experience random sign outs from the software hence i have to keep on signing in all day through. It is quite annoying. However, such occasions are rare.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Wit reference to it user friendly interface, effectiveness, reliability and security as a user, i can with no doubt recommend SharePoint to any organization especially for project management purposes.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Sharing of business content was an uphill task before my organization adopted SharePoint. Having to write Memos and making sure everyone gets the message in time was difficult. With SharePoint, document sharing has become much easier and hence has enhance collaboration within all levels of the organization.

"The Best Document Sharing Tool."

What do you like best?

This application is used in our organization to share documents and information.

This application has a cloud feature that allows anybody to access documents at anytime, it has reduced the use of hard copy documents.

It has a mobile application, this has enabled us to access this data and information from any place we might be, it does not necessarily need to be in the University.

This tool allows for integration with MS office, this includes Word, that is used for document creation, hence SharePoint is used to share this documents.

SharePoint can be customized, this gives an individual the opportunity to set the functionalities of the platform to meets one desires and needs.

Documents are stored in a centralized place, this removes confusion when a person is looking for certain documents.

To access SharePoint documents one must have a security key, we all use this application to share our projects with lecturers.

What do you dislike?

SharePoint requires a technical support team to be able to maintain it.

Microsoft discourages the customization of the tool.

This platform is quite expensive.

SharePoint requires internet to access the documents,if there is no internet, then SharePoint won't work.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I recommend the use of this platform by organizations. It is a great tool that will help the organizations to securely save documents and share them within the organization.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This application has led to improved delivery of services and information in my organization. SharePoint ave also worked as my documents Back Up and extra data storage facility. It has helped me be flexible, now i am able to work from anyplace of my choice.

"Communication Sites have changed our Intranet"

What do you like best?

We have always used SharePoint for document storage and have our Intranet built in publishing sites but we are currently in the process of rebuilding using modern Communication Sites. At first I was a little sceptical as it just allows spfx web parts to be used so a lot of the customization we were able to do before are pretty much out the door. Having said that I think the usability for our end users and allowing less than SharePoint admins to maintain these pages is MUCH easier. Everything is very self explanatory and hard to mess up. It takes about 2 minutes to create a new page and you can set up an entire site with the hub and spokes in like an hour. Very intuitive and although I was leary on losing the customizations it is working well.

As always SharePoint is a solid solution for storing Documents as well and allows for great file versioning.

What do you dislike?

External sharing can sometimes be a little clunky if someone is signed into their personal microsoft account and you send them an invite to their work account things can get confused.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use this for our Internal SharePoint as well as document storage.

"The most effective application to work in collaboration"

What do you like best?

What I like about this application is that it allows us to create our own department web portals, in addition to which we can elaborate, edit and personalize the content.

What do you dislike?

What I do not like is that, being proprietary software is complicated when it comes to using it, getting a recommended level of SharePoint requires complicated and expensive developments, that is, employees must be trained as many of them do not know how to manage said application.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

My recommendation is that, if the company is willing to carry out training courses for its employees and considers a significant reduction in maintenance costs in the future, as well as wanting an application that groups and encourages its employees, SharePoint is a good application to which should be given importance but always keeping track since it acts as a support for a business model that is not based precisely on adapting to the needs of each company in particular. Therefore, the customizations created for a certain version will not remain in subsequent updates and taking the appropriate measures run the risk of displaying sensitive data such as the name of certain files, user names, or dates on which the documents have been modified.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In the business field, it is one of the most powerful business productivity tools in the entire portfolio of Microsoft solutions. It allows people to communicate and collaborate, performs their business processes with a very privileged cost-benefit value, thanks to its computing power and its flexibility to take forms, lists, data libraries and others to the digital world. It is also important for a company because, although it wants to make savings plans this application will allow you to reduce the cost of IT assets in the long term (maintenance time, security, updates and hardware and software performance).

"Share Point Review"

What do you like best?

The best thing about sharepoint is any one can easy share documents within the organization.

-> As the name suggests sharepoint is the best point or place to share your documents.

->one can place a document at share point and the other persons can easily access the documents.

-->Share point is very user friendly, one can easily access the files from any mobile device eg. phones, tablets and laptops etc.

--> Sharepoint is very helpful in case of placing the documentation files. For example you have placed a file with all the steps documented for a process and shared with your whole team. In future, if any one of your team members wants to add some step or delete it they can easily update it.

What do you dislike?

the password pops appear in sharepoint alot. This is the think that annoys me sometimes else sharepoint is a great solution to work upon.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would definitely recommend sharepoint to others as it is a great solution to collaborate and share the content within the Team, across the Team or with the clients.

Even the persons with whom document is shared can update the document to keep it updated.

Wiki insights is great to get insights, one can even publish their content after approval.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Sharepoint has enabled us to share the documents across the Team and within the Team.

Sharepoint has enabled us to easily share the files with local and global team mates or clients.

"Worry Free, Hustle Free Sharing is Caring with SharePoint!"

What do you like best?

The best part is you can quickly share files, folders and resources through share point and not just that it allows your team to same time collaborate. Best part is security that it provides while sharing and remote availability.

Secondly its not just about sharing and sharing but also brings out ideas and creativity in composing sites and pages. Our teams fav. for meeting memo and updates.

What do you dislike?

Not all extensions are supported and if your work restricts you to keep file format intact then this is something you will have to accept as con.

Also, depending upon the network traffic we have found it throws errors on bulk updates but thats ok and not a big issue.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

People using Macs, Windows and other flavors of OS can still share and collaborate. You can use it through mobile devices, ipads, laptops, desktops, servers and any other that provides you an a browser access. So its and App, an Application and even available through browser. You can just Share on the go as well as collaborate.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Very first is a central repository for knowledge management, file sharing, resource entry. We have been therefore been very reliable on its features to provide security against sharing. A lot of time we have had found that documentation and documenting process was difficult to track for changes. SharePoint solves it along with notification and allows to view what was changed and by whom and when. Great isnt it when teams collaborate!

"The One Office365 Feature I Like Better Than G-Suite"

What do you like best?

Automatic alerts on updates, visual appeal

What do you dislike?

Cultural change that must accompany tech

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

SharePoint makes it incredibly easy for me to collaborate with a global team. It streamlines communication by automatically alerting you to changes that your colleagues may have mentioned to you in passing. For example, I stay loosely connected with our events team to ensure we're aligned from a marketing perspective. With SharePoint, I'm automatically updated if someone makes a change to the event roster - no need for the original poster to hunt down 50 departments and individuals to inform them of a change that may have a domino effect on their plans.

A caveat as always with these types of tools - the output is only as good as the input and the cultural commitment to keeping SharePoint updated. I've seen sites that quickly become a repository of legacy documents; others are a true living document and take the information typically housed in OneDrive to the next level.

The best sites I've seen across our organization are accessible to outsiders yet do create a sense of tribalism: inside jokes, getting to know the team, etc. My ideal use case is to have a site you can direct someone to as a starting point if they're curious about the latest from your department/know little about it. The ideal site should also serve as a repository for frequently accessed yet final documents for the internal team. To me, that distinguishes the use of SharePoint from Google Drive or OneDrive.

"Share Point for easy sharing and storing our documents"

What do you like best?

I am using Share Point past 1 year. Share Point is a web-based Platform It is good for Document Management and storage system. and we can collaborate with our teams using Share Point.

We can create different sites and make our site good looking using share point default Web Parts.

What do you dislike?

You can not sync so many files at a time. it will throw an error after uploading some files.

There are some unsupported extensions for files which we cannot store in Share Point.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you want to collaborate with your team, you can use Share Point. Here you can store documents and those can be shared with your team members. we can also share documents with External users if your organisation allows. There are some web parts which you use while creating sites, they will really save your time and very useful.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Creating Team sites or communication sites and storing documents and collaborating files with my team.

I really like documents sharing in Share Point. and you have Version History feature, you can revert back to the documents which will help you some times. and if you delete files you can get it back from Recycle bin. You also have second stage Recycle Bin.

"Design your organization's website with SharePoint"

What do you like best?

What I like most about SharePoint is that it is an application that allows you to bring out your most creative side since it is used to design pages or websites, this is very useful because with the help of SharePoint you can create a site without the need to have advanced programming knowledge, this thanks to everything you do through graphical interface and not command line, although of course the code is created as you give the details to the site in question, also allows you to store files and even share them.

What do you dislike?

What I do not like is that Microsoft forces you to be connected to the internet in order to work with SharePoint, which I see as unnecessary since you could easily work offline and when establishing an internet connection or with Microsoft servers the information could be synchronized without problem, just as if one is working in collaboration and one of the collaborators loses the connection to the internet, all the changes made by this person are lost if the same one did not perform the respective synchronization, it is a serious failure that It should be corrected.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Fully recommended to companies that work in the creative sector such as advertising, account management, among others, as it will enhance the creativity of the work team and encourage teamwork

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The main solution provided by SharePoint to companies is the possibility of having a secure and reliable place to store their data and / or files, as well as allowing these files to be shared according to the permissions established for each user, in addition to this Allows teamwork remotely since the documents can be modified in a collaborative way, that is, each person can make modifications on their own and all these modifications are applied simultaneously

"Amazing collaboration tool"

What do you like best?

The tool allows to securely store important and confidential documents in one place where every team member can have access to and if needed make necessary changes without maintaining multiple versions of the same files. As it is integrated with One Drive, if you use One Drive, it makes your life even easier as you can reach your documents through that. The user interface is very intuitive and much easier to use than other similar products, plus it is very well integrated with other O365 products, plus it is cheaper than other big competitors.

What do you dislike?

It uses SQL database and Windows server which might be not the best for everyone. The other thing I was struggling with is bulk upload and bulk download, as it can become quite buggy when you try to to upload or download many files at the same time.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is a good platform to use when collaborating with others in your team, but be aware of the limitations of the system, so I advise you to do your research before making a decision to go with SharePoint as if it turns out it is not the best fit for your company it can be quite disappointing

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am satisfied with the capabilities of SharePoint as I use it in my every day work. It is being used as a general knowledge base, a collaboration tool, and a team site where we upload content relevant for the team.

"Office 2.0"

What do you like best?

SharePoint makes it easy for a team to internally view tasks, collaborate and hold each other accountable. The fact that it is part of the Microsoft Office 365 for business package and integrates with almost everything else makes it a seamless experience for everyone in the office.

SharePoint makes it easier for our team members to be distributed across the country, continent and the globe, as anyone can remotely access information that is share on site.

What do you dislike?

One of the biggest challenges would be having to manage permission across the team while growing, another challenge or thing to keep in mind is not to assume everyone on the team is knowledgeable about SharePoint and how it works.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would recommend that companies engage in more formal training sessions to help teams use SharePoint more effectively as it will be more efficient in the long run, most companies have an online video Library of how to make use of SharePoint this makes it extremely easy for new team memebers to make use of the platform

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

SharePoint is currently solving task management and information challenges, It is offering us a new way for us to organize information and who gets to see that information. This helps reduce the information overload burden that team members had faced, having to read information that is not relevant to them. It is also giving team members and the company to share information quickly

"Store, organize and share your business information through SharePoint"

What do you like best?

What I like about SharePoint is the versatility of the application because it can be used for various tasks, such as for the creation and design of websites, without the need to generate code, that is, everything is created through of graphic interface and the code is generated alone, also serves to create online presentations and of course also serves to store and share information, not to mention its most important and innovative aspect that is the work in collaboration simultaneously, since it allows 2 or more users make changes simultaneously to the same file or document, which makes it an ideal tool for project management.

What do you dislike?

The bad thing about SharePoint is that in order to access the application and work on it, it is necessary to have an internet connection or to access the server where it is running, I think it should have a function to work offline and simply synchronize the progress at the moment of connecting either to the internet or to the server, if they added this, it would surely improve the user experience with the application.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I strongly recommend companies where staff have the freedom to work remotely, or for project teams that want a tool with more capabilities

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The solutions that SharePoint offers if we focus on a corporate environment are many, but the most valuable of all these solutions is collaborative work, because as I mentioned before, in my case I work with sharepoint for project management and my colleagues and I add or modify the documentation of them when we come up with some novel idea, in this way at the time of delivery always the results are the best, in addition we also store and share information of interest to all users of the corporation, such as communications , announcements, events, etc.

"Best Document sharing platform"

What do you like best?

What I like about this software is that has a potent browser and a great concept of visualization from office files with preview using Office Web Apps, and the other thing that I consider an advantage is that the software always is going to support en the last update, so I won't worry about moving on of version or have to update my software necessarily.

What do you dislike?

What I did not like so much was that it is not possible to use a custom DNS for private collection sites, it is slower in some geographic zones, restricted administration what it could be an inconvenience for special settings, complex integrations with on-premise to do SSO.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Must have tool for every organization to facilitate information management and sharing. It's storage functionality. The fact that I can manage my information well. The ability to organize information and being able to share it with a number of people. Ability to edit information and update it to the most current.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Great collaboration tool and not difficult to maintain. I have used this software as an HR administrator for updating and reviewing current policies and procedures. I find this software as a very useful tool when it comes to communication with other team members. Makes all changes made in the current document visible in real time and also provides the opportunity for team collaboration.

"A centralized data experience that enhances the IT experience at work"

What do you like best?

The capabilities to integrate forms to process simple data, could be forms designed out-of-the-box or the advance form designer that allows to create deep, advanced workflows to collect data.

From there, I would go to the central data repository, aligned to active directory security to manage access between the users. Integrating SharePoint into your organization's IT backbone would help to minimize local or external repositories of data and the risk that those entail.

What do you dislike?

Navigation is not intuitive, you would expect an experience like that of Windows Explorer, when browsing thru the files, however, it's different enough to cause some discomfort to first time users.

If not managed correctly, you can end with a huge amount of non-managed data, or with people getting or setting permissions that are not aligned to your organization's processes.

You need top of the line hardware for SharePoint to perform at comfortable levels, if you can't meet this requirement, you'll end up with a slow tool that will give your users pain when using it.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Keep in mind that you'll need to create, maintain and enforce data management policies for you company, if you already have, do your best to align SharePoint to those, and if needed, adapt your policies to align to SharePoint capabilities.

You'll need a full-time position to manage it, and have the certainty that your using all of SharePoint capabilities that benefit your organization and that you're not leaving any of its capabilities without being used.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Centralizing data and minimizing the file traffic thru email.

My company is constantly training us (the employees) on the best combined usage of Email and SharePoint. Minimizing risk of sensitive information leaks and maximizing the productivity enabling a central repository for shared data. Sometimes there are several work groups that need access to the same information, and maybe modify it, local copies were a nightmare, version control was all not in place, and multiple different versions of the same file could be found within several teams of the organization.

SharePoint has provided the adequate environment to maintain a single data source, aligned to the proper access permissions, and allowing to keep track of all updates done to it.
