"Powerful with Reporting, but Tough to Master"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I really like the powerful dashboard and reporting features of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management, which help managers track performance, identify bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisions. I find it beneficial that it integrates well with enterprise systems, especially for companies already using ERP tools. It's a key strength that the platform provides clear visibility across multiple projects and aligns with business goals, which is especially useful in logistics and warehouse environments. What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

The tool is powerful but has a steep learning curve. The UI can feel complex, and the initial setup or customization often requires technical support. Simplifying the interface and onboarding process would improve user experience. The initial setup was slightly complex and required time for configuration and understanding workflows. "AI-Driven Efficiency with SPM end to end strategy, planning and execution ; the next experience UI is evolving but still needs work"
4/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I think the real benefit I see after so many years of experience, implementing as well as helping customers to adopt in their own pace and time, is that people tend to see the value as part of the integrated AI platform of platforms in work. This entire AI platform and how ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management connects to all parts of the platform is quite beneficial. I appreciate the recent advancement with the AI engine, the Now Assist, which we have been using for summarization and creating advices, saving 20-30% time and thus FTE cost. It's great for helping reduce the time to market and the total time spent in the tool, which is valuable because most people have their day jobs and using such tools isn't their primary task. The process helps reduce time in the tool while also getting the best out of it and one single platform helps with consistency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

The major challenge that we face is that it's a huge investment for most of the companies, and it's a flexible product. And the user interface, I often see that it could improve. The user experience (wer ecommend modern/next experince UI to all customers) could use a lot of experience evaluation, product design, and I do see that's where things are a little bit tricky. But, again, there are learning curves, and I think that every version, every release upgrade we see newer features, which should be beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive Management, Needs Enhanced Backlog Features"
3.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I appreciate that ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management allows me to manage Projects, Portfolios, and Programs all in one place. I feel that Agile Development 2.0 within the platform is a great tool for managing Stories, and it really helps us track the entire end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process. Also, using the system helps us stay out-of-the-box, which avoids maintenance costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I feel SPM could make it better if we can enhance it like Jira. Like SPM Agile Development 2.0 doesn't have full end to end backlog management like JIRA. It was not easy but it was worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Strategic Management with Financial Transparency"
4/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I appreciate the financials roll-up feature and the flexibility to report on business values in ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management. It allows me to view all my financials from the bottom level up to the top of the portfolio. The initial setup was straightforward, making it easy to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I think the tracking of business services and service portfolio hierarchy could be improved. It would be helpful if we had an ability to report everything related to one portfolio, similar to how the financials roll-up works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Centralized Portfolio Management with ROI Maximization"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I like how ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management provides a centralized view of all initiatives, making it much easier to track progress, dependencies, and priorities without jumping between multiple tools. It improves transparency for both leadership and delivery teams. The tool helps us identify resource constraints early and allows us to avoid over-allocation by improving capacity planning. I find the financial tracking and forecasting to be streamlined, offering clearer insights into budget utilization and ROI. These features enable better prioritization based on business value and improve decision-making through insights into resource capacity, financial planning, and project performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

The user experience in some areas, particularly for resource management and financial modules, can feel a bit heavy and not as intuitive for new users. This sometimes leads to additional training needs for business stakeholders. The initial setup was not very easy and required careful planning, especially since it touches multiple areas like demand, project management, resource management, and financials. There was also a learning curve for both the implementation team and business users around configuring portfolios, resource plans, and financials tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Resource Management with Room for Improvement"

What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I like ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management for its ability to fully utilize resources effectively. The resource and time management features are very helpful, especially in keeping overtime hours in check and providing insights into where those overtime hours are spent. The time sheets tied to particular projects are great for calculating budget overruns. The initial setup of the software was pretty easy, making it a breeze to start using. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

Charge capability for other teams when budget is from other places is lacking. Sometimes our developers work from another department's budget - there is no way to tag that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
