## ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management Reviews
 ### 1. Offers a Clearer View of Projects, Costs and Resources.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Himid-Lução O. | Growth Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I appreciate how it helps with resource planning. As a Growth Product Manager, I am constantly fighting for engineering and design time. This tool shows me where people are allocated and where we have gaps. I can spot resource shortages before they become crises. That alone has made my life easier. My conversations with leadership are also more productive because I can show them actual data instead of guessing. The visibility it gives me across all our growth initiatives is probably the biggest win.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The onboarding process was rough. It took us a few months to get everything configured properly. I am not technical so I relied heavily on our internal team and ServiceNow support. Some parts of the platform feel outdated. Sometimes I get lost and waste time just navigating. Performance can also be slow when I am looking at large portfolios. The system takes a while to load all the data and that is frustrating.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The highlighted problem it solves for us is the overall visibility. I used to have no clear picture of what was happening across all our growth experiments. People would ask me for updates and I would have to dig through emails and spreadsheets. Now I can pull up a report in minutes and give stakeholders the information they need. That has improved my credibility within the organization. It also helps with prioritization. We have more ideas than we have capacity. This tool allows me to score and rank initiatives based on different criteria. I can have data-backed conversations about why we are investing in certain things and not others.

 ### 2. Makes Portfolio Management Much More Efficient.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emman C. | Engineering Supervisor - Process Surveillance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

What I like most about ServiceNow SPM is that its dashboard is quite user friendly and its quite easy to adapt to. Its user interface is so simple that even we easily navigate through multiple queries all at once, although sometimes the buttons seem a bit complex, but it gets the job done. Another advantage is the integration, our Excel files and SharePoint work with it without any problems. With its help, my team members can plan more in less time.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

Well I personally disliked the pricing strategy of this tool, as it comes with a lot of additional charges. We thought that the tool of such a big company would be cheap but its ROI is not as clear as they claim. Guidance was also lacking during onboarding, we had to find a lot on our own which wasted most of our initial time.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software solves our biggest problem which are prioritizing projects in the order of the urgency that is required by our clients mostly. Earlier I used to think which work to do first, now its AI suggests that such and such project is more in our favor to reduce the workload in a manner. Its transparency in planning is also huge advantage in our favor, everyone can see who has what responsibility.

 ### 3. Powerful Strategic-to-Execution Governance and Portfolio Visibility with ServiceNow SPM

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arkajit D. | Chief Technology Officer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The thing I like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is how effectively it connects strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution across large cross-functional teams.

In our workflows, we used it to manage enterprise initiatives involving fintech product delivery, operational transformation projects, compliance-driven releases, and infrastructure modernization programs. Before implementing the platform, portfolio planning, resource tracking, project execution, and operational reporting were spread across disconnected spreadsheets, project tools, and manual review processes. Leadership visibility into delivery status and dependency risks was often fragmented.

One area where ServiceNow SPM made a major impact was release and initiative governance. During large fintech rollout programs involving engineering, operations, compliance, and product teams, the platform helped centralize portfolio visibility across timelines, dependencies, resource allocation, and execution progress. Leadership teams could finally track how strategic initiatives translated into operational workstreams without relying on manually consolidated reports.

Another strong point was the workflow structure and governance visibility. We were able to standardize intake processes, prioritization workflows, and operational approvals across teams, which reduced a lot of coordination overhead during planning cycles.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I disliked about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is that while the platform is extremely powerful for enterprise governance and portfolio visibility, the overall setup and operational complexity can become significant, especially during large-scale implementations.

In our environment, we used the platform to manage fintech delivery programs involving engineering releases, compliance initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, and operational transformation projects across multiple teams. The platform handled governance and portfolio visibility very well, but configuring workflows, resource models, reporting structures, and approval hierarchies required much more planning and administrative effort than initially expected.

From a UI/UX perspective, the system is designed for enterprise-scale operational control, but new users often found the interface overwhelming at first. Delivery managers and operational stakeholders adapted over time, but teams accustomed to lighter project management tools initially struggled with navigation, workflow depth, and reporting configuration complexity.

Another challenge was customization governance. The platform is highly flexible, but as more teams requested specialized workflows, dashboards, and portfolio structures, maintaining consistency across the environment became increasingly difficult. Without disciplined governance, operational complexity could grow quickly.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solved a major operational problem for us around fragmented portfolio visibility and disconnected execution tracking across large enterprise initiatives.

Before implementing the platform, strategic planning, project execution, resource allocation, compliance tracking, and operational reporting were managed across spreadsheets, standalone project tools, email approvals, and manually consolidated status reports. In our fintech-related delivery environment, this created constant issues around dependency tracking, prioritization conflicts, and limited visibility into how strategic initiatives were progressing operationally.

One specific challenge involved coordinating large release programs that included engineering delivery, compliance approvals, infrastructure readiness, operational onboarding, and customer-impacting rollout timelines simultaneously. Different teams maintained separate tracking systems, which made it difficult for leadership to identify delivery risks or resource bottlenecks early enough.

ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management helped centralize those workflows into a more governed portfolio structure. Leadership teams could track strategic initiatives, operational dependencies, resource allocation, project health, and delivery progress from a unified environment instead of relying on manually stitched reporting.

Another major benefit was improved prioritization and governance. Intake requests, approval workflows, and initiative planning became much more standardized, which reduced operational confusion around competing priorities and delivery ownership.

The platform also improved cross-functional coordination significantly. Product, engineering, compliance, operations, and leadership teams could all work from the same portfolio visibility layer instead of maintaining disconnected operational views.

From a day-to-day operational perspective, reporting became far more reliable and less manual. Teams spent less time preparing executive updates and status consolidations because portfolio visibility was already centralized inside the platform.

 ### 4. Simplifies Portfolio Management with User-Friendly UI

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Masood A. | Account Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I like its roadmap view which allows us to see every lead and resource on a single screen, saving us from planning meetings separately. The Jira integration keeps our dev teams happy and in their normal tools, which helps us get accurate status automatically. The roadmaps help to drag initiatives and see conflicts before committing, saving time. We switched to ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management because its UI is simple to operate, and we can configure scoring and portfolios much easier. The implementation is easier compared to other applications.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The reporting is limited which leads us to Tableau for getting detailed information about anything.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to track projects, utilize resources and budget, manage resource conflicts, and keep aligned with leadership for budget decisions. Its roadmap view and Jira integration save time and keep dev teams informed in their normal tools.

 ### 5. All-in-One Portfolio Management with Clear Dashboards and Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hammid Hussain CSM®️ K. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

What I like most is having everything in one place. Instead of tracking projects across different tools, we can manage demand, projects, resources, and portfolios within ServiceNow SPM. The dashboards give a clear picture of project status, and the automation has reduced a lot of the manual follow-up our team used to do. Once you get familiar with it, it becomes an important part of day-to-day portfolio management.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The biggest challenge for us was the initial setup and learning curve. There are a lot of features, which is great, but it can feel overwhelming for new users. Some configurations also require support from experienced ServiceNow administrators. Better out-of-the-box templates for common use cases would make onboarding easier.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using SPM, it was difficult to get a consolidated view of our projects and resource allocation. Now we have much better visibility into priorities, project health, and capacity, which has made planning discussions more productive. It has also reduced the time spent on manual reporting and helped stakeholders make decisions based on real-time information rather than spreadsheets.

 ### 6. Good platform for managing projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Banty K. | Operational Assistant (PFMS), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

What I liked best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management was its clean interface and the way it keeps project information organized in one place. Even with limited use, I found it easy to navigate and useful for tracking work and getting a quick overview of project progress. It seems well integrated with the ServiceNow platform, which can help teams collaborate more efficiently.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

Since I only used it for a short time, I found that the platform has a learning curve, and some features were not immediately intuitive. The interface can feel overwhelming at first because there are many options and settings. More guided tutorials or onboarding resources would make it easier for new users to get started.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Based on my limited experience, ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management helps keep projects, tasks, and resources organized in one place. It improves visibility into ongoing work, making it easier for teams to track progress and priorities. This can reduce manual tracking and improve collaboration by providing a centralized view of project information.

 ### 7. Powerful Portfolio Visibility and Alignment with Seamless ServiceNow Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chinmaya M. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I like ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management because it helps organizations align business goals with project execution in one platform. It provides clear visibility into portfolios, resources, budgets, and project progress, enabling better prioritization and decision-making. I also appreciate its seamless integration with other ServiceNow modules and its flexibility to support different business needs.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

One aspect I dislike is that ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management has a learning curve, especially for new users because of its wide range of features and configuration options. However, once users become familiar with the platform, it becomes a powerful tool for managing portfolios, projects, and resources effectively.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management addresses the challenge of managing projects, resources, and investments across different teams by bringing everything together in a single platform. It increases visibility, supports prioritizing work based on business goals, and enables stronger resource planning. For me, this makes it easier to track progress, collaborate across teams, and deliver projects more efficiently, backed by better decision-making.

 ### 8. Powerful Portfolio Management with Real-Time Visibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aman K. | SEO EXECUTIVE, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I like how ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management brings projects, resources, and investments together in one platform. It provides better visibility into project progress, helps prioritize work based on business goals, and offers useful dashboards for tracking performance. The reporting features and workflow automation also make collaboration easier across different teams.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The platform has a learning curve, especially for new users. Some advanced configuration and reporting options can feel complex without proper training. In large implementations, customization and setup may take time, and performance can occasionally slow down when working with large datasets. More beginner-friendly documentation and simplified navigation would improve the overall experience.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management helps us centralize project planning, resource allocation, and portfolio tracking in one platform. Before using it, managing multiple projects across spreadsheets made it difficult to prioritize work and monitor progress. With ServiceNow SPM, we now have better visibility into project status, improved resource utilization, and data-driven decision-making. This has increased collaboration between teams, reduced manual reporting, and helped us deliver projects more efficiently and on time.

 ### 9. Cleaner Project Workspace and Strong Illustrative Portfolio Dashboards in ServiceNow SPM

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashwinkumar S. | Associate Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The Project workspace is cleaner and also provide detailed visibility on project status. I mainly used for project scheduling and planning, resource planning and risk mitigation plan, as these involves more complex sub-tasks and needs better visibility, out of applications that I used for project planning service now provides better workspace for these tasks in my experience.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

Eventhough it provides detailed status on dashboards, sometimes it is bit cluttered while viewing the plan on it's entirety. The AI inetgrations are better but the performance of AI for complex data models are not that much competitive

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While using, MS projects for Project planning or scheduling, the roadmaps are often too cluttered. In service now it is better with illustrations with clarity. And helpful in Risk management analysis as it always needed combining various, workflows from different plugins, connecting local ERP applications, in that area, it is helpful

 ### 10. Strong Strategy-to-Project Visibility, but Expensive Licensing and Heavy Setup

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bilal L. | Marketing Coordinator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The most helpful thing is its connection strategy for delivery and the way it creates a central source for managing portfolios to support decision-making. It provides a visual roadmap for business value and helps link strategic goals directly to projects. It also offers resource planning and better visibility for managing financial plans, with data-driven supervision.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

My biggest frustration is that the licensing is very expensive when scaling it to other departments, and the setup also requires significant backend support.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow addresses core business challenges created by disconnected execution by providing standardized demand management for portfolio prioritization. It helps reduce unmanaged project requests by enabling teams to objectively choose initiatives based on business value, while also taking into account project performance, resource capacity, and financial considerations. This approach supports data-driven governance and results in more informed, consistent decision-making.

 ### 11. Hands-Down Best Choice — Reliable, Easy to Use, and Quick to Set Up

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ravi G. | Residential Support Engineer , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

This is seriously the best option out there, hands down! It's so reliable, I've never had any issues with it. Plus, it's incredibly easy to figure out and get started with. I was up and running in no time at all. Honestly, if you're looking for something that works great and is simple to use, you can't go wrong with this.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

So far, everything has been pretty great. I haven't encountered anything that's really let me down yet, and it's always nice when things meet or exceed expectations. I'm genuinely enjoying the experience and hope it continues that way.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This really helps me keep things organized. It's been a game-changer for managing my tasks. I used to feel overwhelmed, but now everything is so much smoother. I can actually see progress and feel more in control. Definitely a useful tool for anyone trying to get a handle on their life!

 ### 12. Connects Strategic Objectives to Agile Execution with Excellent Portfolio Visibility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Syed S. | Senior Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The ability to seamlessly connect high level strategic objectives with team level agile execution is its biggest strength. It provides excellent visibility across the entire portfolio, ensuring that our sprint deliverables are always aligned with the broader business roadmap and highest-value priorities.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

While it handles high level portfolio tracking very well, the interface for day to day sprint execution and backlog refinement can feel heavy and less intuitive compared to dedicated, standalone agile tools. Navigating between team level tasks and portfolio epics sometimes requires too many clicks.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the massive disconnect that often happens between overarching business strategy and team-level agile execution. By using ServiceNow SPM, we have much clearer visibility during PI Planning and can map cross team dependencies accurately. The biggest benefit is ensuring that our sprint deliverables are always driving the portfolio's strategic goals forward, rather than just ticking off isolated tasks.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I find that the user experience could be improved. Some features take time to learn, and navigating between different modules can sometimes feel overwhelming. The platform has many features, so it can take time for new users to become familiar with it. A simpler interface and more built-in guidance would make it easier to navigate and use effectively.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to keep projects, resources, and priorities organized in one place. It helps plan and track projects, manage resources, and monitor progress, providing better visibility and alignment with business priorities and allowing for better planning decisions.

 ### 14. Transforming Portfolio Management with ServiceNow SPM

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ganesh G. | Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

It helps ensure that the right work gets prioritized, aligns every initiative to business goals, and enables faster, data‑driven decisions with better resource utilization and governance

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

ServiceNow SPM powerful but complex to adopt and sustain. Common concerns include a steep learning curve and non‑intuitive interface, which slow adoption. The heavy configuration effort required to align with PMO processes, delaying value realization, Adoption can suffer if workflows feel complex, leading teams to revert to other tools. There are also concerns around data quality impacting reporting trust, and over‑customization creating technical debt and upgrade challenges

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SPM solves disconnected strategy, scattered tools, and lack of visibility by centralizing demand, projects, resources, and finances. It helps prioritize the right work, improve resource utilization, and enables data‑driven decisions—leading to better alignment, faster execution, and cost efficiency.

 ### 15. Powerful Portfolio Visibility, But a Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

 ### 16. Centralized Project Visibility, Complex Setup

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Praney M. | Product Design Manager 2, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I like the centralized visibility and planning structure that ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management provides across larger initiatives. It simplifies tracking project status, dependencies, approvals, and resource allocation without the need to switch between separate tools or manual spreadsheets. The portfolio dashboards, project tracking, resource visibility, and approval workflows are especially valuable as they offer stakeholders a clearer view of priorities, timelines, and dependencies across multiple initiatives. I also find the workflow automation and reporting very helpful for operational coordination and status visibility, reducing the need for manual follow-ups.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

One area that could improve is the overall complexity of the interface and configuration process. The platform is very capable, but for newer users or teams not deeply familiar with ServiceNow workflows, some areas can feel overwhelming during onboarding and setup. Reporting and dashboard customization also took a bit of time to refine in a way that matched different stakeholder needs. Navigation across multiple modules during larger portfolio workflows can sometimes feel heavier than expected, especially when trying to get quick operational visibility without digging through several layers of configuration. Customizing dashboards, reporting structures, and approval processes took more time than expected.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management centralizes project visibility and resource coordination. It solves planning confusion by uniting scattered spreadsheets and tools, making cross-functional alignment easier. It provides a unified view of priorities, enhancing stakeholder updates across initiatives, and reducing manual follow-ups.

 ### 17. Integrates Seamlessly with ITSM, Streamlines Agile Tracking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julio A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to track all the agile deliveries from my company, which is critical given our large IT department. It helps me keep everything on track and prioritize developments effectively. The seamless integration with ITSM is a key highlight for me because it allows me to track all the changes in our production environment. As a bank that operates services 24x7, this integration helps us prevent outages by letting us know every alteration in our production environment, who built it, and what it does. Also, we use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management as our main agile tool, which we pair with software like MS Teams and Open IA.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The workspace is something that we do not use so well... We created a portal so we can have something like a Kanban panel and other things.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management helps me track agile deliveries, prioritize tasks, and develop effectively. It integrates well with ITSM, allowing me to monitor production environment changes and prevent outages.

 ### 18. Effective Portfolio Views, Setup Needs Expert Touch

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bonnie L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I like the views that ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management offers, especially the Strategic Planning workspace and the workspace for resourcing. The roadmap visual views are really helpful, with features like grouping, basic filtering, and the ability to see at a glance percentages and owners. This setup helps with making decisions on what to start for our portfolio committee.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

In the workspaces, it isn't well integrated into legacy views, meaning some of the information aren't in the views, so there's lots of flipping between. For project management, it's hard to manage projects and get full work breakdown structures; setting baselines is clunky. Views for troubled or red flag projects and insights are difficult to dig up and require custom reporting. The technical setup is okay, but it's not obvious on how or what features to enable unless you have an expert.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management for a consolidated view of project types, aiding in decisions for our portfolio committee with its strategic planning workspace.

 ### 19. Simplifies Portfolio Management with 3D Visualization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dimitrios H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I loved the way things turn from ideation to demand and finally to a project in ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management. It provides a simplistic and cohesive way to track a project from its inception to its completion. I appreciate the ability to explore various components such as the financial component and the 3D project visualization, which is a good way to demonstrate to upper management when projects occur during a calendar year. I find that presenting data in a meaningful way to gain support from upper management is extremely valuable. I have the ability to create baselines, like for monetary, risk, and security aspects, to see if a new project is viable. The ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management module offers more in-depth analysis of project components than what I was using before. The initial setup was extremely easy, and the instructions worked really well.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The workspace seems a little crowded and sometimes it is hard to navigate. But with every new product, there is a learning curve. The one suggestion I would offer is the ability to make clear distinctions between the different tables when it comes to the time for setting up your project.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management provides a simplistic and cohesive way to track a project from its inception to completion, offering more in-depth analysis of project components than Microsoft DevOps.

**Reviewed by:** Julia M. | Senior Account Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I like AI assistance the most because it combines data and workflow efficiently under a best-scale platform. It turns messy raw data into visual roadmaps that actually matter for an interactive timeline view and shifting deadlines across everything. I can't find any serious difficulty; the UI and dashboards are all good. The initial setup was very easy because I'm already familiar with these types of project tools.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I find the prices climb very fast; this could be more cost-effective.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to connect projects with business goals using AI insights. It helps adjust strategies, visualize plans, and create timelines from raw data, enhancing resource utilization.

 ### 21. Comprehensive SPM Support That Works Well for IT Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrii H. | Platform Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

It supports all the aspects around SPM, many departments of our company find this product as a good quality product.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

While the solution is working well for IT teams, we find difficulties when onboarding users from business functions (GBS, HR, M&S etc.) - they have specific requirements about e.g. Project/Demand categorization, custom fields, states - it takes our time to ensure the product works for all the teams as they need. So I would say having more configurable way to support different teams with different requirements would be great for us.
Another thing - Workspaces. There is a Project Workspace - and we promote it! Some teams are using it. Some teams needs also to see on the same Workspace Demands, Resources, Products etc. - so everything around SPM in one place. Not in the different workspaces. Not swithing to platform (legacy) UI

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 ### 22. Clear Strategy-to-Execution Alignment with Real-Time Portfolio Visibility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** edgar g. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

What I like most about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is the ability to connect strategy to execution in a clear and measurable way. The platform enables the alignment of business objectives with initiatives, the prioritization of investments based on real value, and complete, real-time visibility into the portfolio.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

What I like least about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is that the initial implementation can be complex and require a significant amount of time and effort—especially when it comes to aligning the tool with the organization's specific processes.
Furthermore, the learning curve can be somewhat steep for new users, particularly for those unfamiliar with portfolio management concepts or the ServiceNow ecosystem itself.
Another point is that certain customizations and more advanced reports may require additional technical knowledge or reliance on specialists, which can increase both costs and delivery times.

 ### 23. My experience review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wilder M. | Freelance Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2025

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

What I like the most about ServiceNow SPM is that it really helps bring everything together in one place. It makes it easier to connect business goals with the actual projects and track progress without having to jump between different tools. I like how clear the portfolio views are — I can quickly see which initiatives are on track and where the risks are. The integration with other ServiceNow modules is also a big plus, because it saves time and reduces the back-and-forth between teams. Overall, it gives me confidence that decisions are based on real data, not just assumptions.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The main downside is that it’s not the easiest tool to pick up at the beginning. There’s definitely a learning curve, and sometimes you need someone experienced with ServiceNow to help set things up the right way. Some dashboards feel a bit heavy and can take longer to load when there’s a lot of data. I also think the licensing costs can be high for smaller companies, which might make it harder for them to adopt. But once you get through the setup and training, it does become a very powerful tool.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow SPM has helped us a lot with visibility and alignment. Before, we had projects scattered across different tools and teams, which made it really hard to know what was actually moving the business forward. Now we can connect projects directly to business goals and see where resources are going. It’s also much easier to prioritize the right initiatives instead of just reacting to whoever shouts the loudest. The reporting and dashboards save a lot of time because leadership can instantly see status updates and risks without chasing multiple teams. Overall, it’s reduced confusion, improved transparency, and helped us focus on delivering the initiatives that actually bring value.

 ### 24. Streamlined Portfolio Prioritization, Needs User Clarity

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** tyler h. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I find the portfolio planning workspace and the resource manager workspace in ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to be great. The portfolio planning workspace helps provide an overview of current demands and projects, and when combined with the resource manager workspace, it allows stakeholders to quickly understand when tasks can be completed and change priorities based on real-time data.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

A lot of hands in the cookie jar can make it a little harder at times. It could be easier to tell when a key stakeholder made a change versus a manager or fulfiller. The initial setup took a while, mostly involving aligning processes to the workflow of ServiceNow.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management helps manage large demand prioritization by key stakeholders. The portfolio planning workspace provides an overview of demands and projects, and the resource manager workspace helps stakeholders quickly understand completion timelines and prioritize based on real-time data.

 ### 25. Centralized Portfolio Management with Robust Integrations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshit G. | Senior ServiceNow Consultant , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I like most about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is the end-to-end visibility it provides across demands, projects, resources, and financials in a single platform. It makes it much easier to track progress, identify risks early, and make data-driven decisions. I also appreciate how well it integrates with other ServiceNow modules, which helps streamline workflows and reduces manual effort. Another strong point is the flexibility to customize processes, dashboards, and reporting based on business needs while still maintaining governance and standardization.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

One area that could be improved in ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is the overall complexity during initial setup and configuration, especially for organizations with mature governance processes or unique portfolio structures. It often requires careful planning and experienced administrators to fully optimize the platform. Reporting and dashboarding are powerful, but building highly customized executive-level reports can sometimes take additional effort compared to more specialized BI tools. Resource management can also become complex in large organizations when handling matrix teams, shifting priorities, and frequent capacity changes. Another improvement area is user adoption, as some users may find certain interfaces or processes overwhelming at first, so a more simplified and intuitive experience for occasional users would be valuable. Enhancements in out-of-the-box best practice templates and faster implementation accelerators would also help organizations realize value more quickly.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to manage our project portfolio centrally, improving visibility into resource allocation, budgets, and risks. It enhances decision-making by aligning projects with business goals, standardizes processes, and integrates well with other ServiceNow modules to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

One less helpful aspect of ServiceNow SPM is that it offers so many features that it can feel overwhelming, and it requires specific training to really get a grip on it.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It addresses the challenge of project customization and helps ensure we use resources effectively. It reduces waste and prioritizes initiatives, improving project visibility and performance by avoiding misalignments and speeding up the delivery of financial value.

 ### 27. Centralized Solution, Setup Complexity

 ### 28. Real-Time Portfolio Visibility That Accelerates Delivery and Improves Resource Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

Strategic Portfolio Management provides real-time visibility into project performance and risk, and it helps accelerate product and project delivery while improving resource management.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

SPM can become overly complex to implement and maintain when the underlying processes aren’t clearly defined. Many organizations expect quick value, but SPM typically requires strong governance, solid data quality, and mature portfolio management practices to deliver its full benefits.

For business stakeholders who aren’t daily ServiceNow users, the overall experience can be challenging at times. Navigation and reporting don’t always feel intuitive, and driving adoption may take additional training as well as thoughtful change management.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SPM helps solve challenges such as disconnected planning, demand intake, project execution, and resource management across an organization.

Before SPM, we were using Excel sheets and another third-party tool to track and manage these processes. That approach led to poor visibility, duplicated effort, and slower decision-making.

 ### 29. Enhances Visibility and Governance, But Setup Can Be Complex

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nanthakumar M. | Information Technology Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I like how ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management provides end-to-end visibility across all projects and demands in a single platform. The dashboards and reporting features are very powerful, helping stakeholders make quick and informed decisions. I appreciate how it streamlines demand, project, and resource management in one place, reducing manual work and improving efficiency. The integration with other ServiceNow modules enhances data consistency and governance. Overall, it brings better alignment between IT initiatives and business goals while improving transparency and control.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

While ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is very powerful, there are a few areas that could be improved. The initial setup and configuration can be complex, especially for organizations without strong ServiceNow expertise. It often requires significant customization to match specific business needs. The user interface for some modules, like resource and demand management, can feel a bit less intuitive for new users, leading to a learning curve. Reporting is powerful, but creating advanced reports or dashboards sometimes requires deeper technical knowledge. Additionally, performance can occasionally be slower when handling large volumes of data or complex portfolios. Enhancing out-of-the-box templates, improving usability, and optimizing performance would make the platform even more efficient.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to align IT projects with business goals, plan, prioritize, and track projects. It solves visibility and resource management issues, reducing manual effort with automation. It enables better financial planning, decision-making, and governance, improving alignment between IT and business strategies.

It also provides clear visibility into priorities, resources, and overall progress across teams.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The initial setup and configuration can be quite complex and time-consuming, especially when aligning it with existing processes. Also, some reporting and dashboards could be more flexible and easier to customize for specific needs.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amitabh S. | Cluster Operations Manager II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

I really like the powerful dashboard and reporting features of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management, which help managers track performance, identify bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisions. I find it beneficial that it integrates well with enterprise systems, especially for companies already using ERP tools. It's a key strength that the platform provides clear visibility across multiple projects and aligns with business goals, which is especially useful in logistics and warehouse environments.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The tool is powerful but has a steep learning curve. The UI can feel complex, and the initial setup or customization often requires technical support. Simplifying the interface and onboarding process would improve user experience. The initial setup was slightly complex and required time for configuration and understanding workflows.

 ### 32. AI-Driven Efficiency with SPM end to end strategy, planning and execution ; the next experience UI is evolving but still needs work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nilashis C. | Principal Architect / Pre-Sales Lead / Manager on Strategy, EA & ITSM, 5x CIS, SPM, Germany based, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I think the real benefit I see after so many years of experience, implementing as well as helping customers to adopt in their own pace and time, is that people tend to see the value as part of the integrated AI platform of platforms in work. This entire AI platform and how ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management connects to all parts of the platform is quite beneficial. I appreciate the recent advancement with the AI engine, the Now Assist, which we have been using for summarization and creating advices, saving 20-30% time and thus FTE cost. It's great for helping reduce the time to market and the total time spent in the tool, which is valuable because most people have their day jobs and using such tools isn't their primary task. The process helps reduce time in the tool while also getting the best out of it and one single platform helps with consistency.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The major challenge that we face is that it's a huge investment for most of the companies, and it's a flexible product. And the user interface, I often see that it could improve. The user experience (wer ecommend modern/next experince UI to all customers) could use a lot of experience evaluation, product design, and I do see that's where things are a little bit tricky. But, again, there are learning curves, and I think that every version, every release upgrade we see newer features, which should be beneficial.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management centralizes various tools and processes, bridging strategy execution and planning, enhancing visibility. It integrates with AI for summarization and advice, reducing time spent on tools and improving efficiency.

 ### 33. Comprehensive Management, Needs Enhanced Backlog Features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mahmadsamir Z. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I appreciate that ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management allows me to manage Projects, Portfolios, and Programs all in one place. I feel that Agile Development 2.0 within the platform is a great tool for managing Stories, and it really helps us track the entire end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process. Also, using the system helps us stay out-of-the-box, which avoids maintenance costs.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I feel SPM could make it better if we can enhance it like Jira. Like SPM Agile Development 2.0 doesn't have full end to end backlog management like JIRA. It was not easy but it was worth it.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to manage demands, converting them into projects or enhancements and tracking the end-to-end SDLC cycle. It helps consolidate management of projects, portfolios, and programs, staying out-of-the-box to reduce maintenance costs.

I appreciate the financials roll-up feature and the flexibility to report on business values in ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management. It allows me to view all my financials from the bottom level up to the top of the portfolio. The initial setup was straightforward, making it easy to get started.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I think the tracking of business services and service portfolio hierarchy could be improved. It would be helpful if we had an ability to report everything related to one portfolio, similar to how the financials roll-up works.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to align project and demand management with our strategic objectives, seeing business strategic problems clearly in one place. The financials roll-up feature helps view all financials from the bottom to the portfolio level, offering flexibility in reporting on business values.

It improves transparency for both leadership and delivery teams. The tool helps us identify resource constraints early and allows us to avoid over-allocation by improving capacity planning. I find the financial tracking and forecasting to be streamlined, offering clearer insights into budget utilization and ROI. These features enable better prioritization based on business value and improve decision-making through insights into resource capacity, financial planning, and project performance.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The user experience in some areas, particularly for resource management and financial modules, can feel a bit heavy and not as intuitive for new users. This sometimes leads to additional training needs for business stakeholders. The initial setup was not very easy and required careful planning, especially since it touches multiple areas like demand, project management, resource management, and financials. There was also a learning curve for both the implementation team and business users around configuring portfolios, resource plans, and financials tracking.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to align business initiatives with goals and manage demand intake. It provides a centralized view for better prioritization and decision-making, tracks financials for clear budget insights, and streamlines collaboration between teams, addressing visibility and resource allocation issues.

ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is recommended for a single, primary reason that it connects high-level business strategy directly to daily execution on a single platform.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The spreadsheet chaos, resource blindness, and the disconnect between corporate goals and technical execution. By centralizing ideas, funding, and workflows into one data model, it eliminates manual status reports and prevents developer burnout through clear capacity planning.

 ### 38. Efficient Resource Management with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raghu N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I like ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management for its ability to fully utilize resources effectively. The resource and time management features are very helpful, especially in keeping overtime hours in check and providing insights into where those overtime hours are spent. The time sheets tied to particular projects are great for calculating budget overruns. The initial setup of the software was pretty easy, making it a breeze to start using.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

Charge capability for other teams when budget is from other places is lacking. Sometimes our developers work from another department's budget - there is no way to tag that.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to fully utilize resources and manage projects. It helps keep overtime hours in check and provides insights into budget overruns with time sheets.

 ### 43. Good features but still takes effort to us

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harshul S. | Sr tech support, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2025

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

One new thing I noticed is that the dashboards feel a bit cleaner now and it’s easier to track progress across different teams. The communication inside the platform also feels smoother, like updates and comments show up faster. I also like how everything stays synced, so even if multiple people update something, it doesn’t break anything. It’s still solid for managing bigger projects and keeping everything in one place.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

It still isn’t the easiest tool to learn. Some menus feel confusing and I still need extra time to find certain options. The UI could be more modern and simple. Also the training materials could be better, especially video tutorials right now they feel too basic or outdated. A bit more guidance inside the tool would help new users a lot.

 ### 44. Strategic Insights with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Floyd M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to build platform analytics, which allows me to review the trends of the business across operations. I appreciate the proactive view it provides, enabling us to focus on strategic improvement places rather than reacting to customer frustration. I like the Dashboard, although I think it would save more time if it were made more interactive. The cross-department integrations make it easier for us to work across different areas efficiently, and the initial setup was straightforward.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The openness and flexibility create some confusion. The layout could be simplified.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to review my team's performance and build platform analytics, providing a proactive view for strategic improvements and avoiding reacting to customer frustration.

 ### 45. High-Quality File Sharing, but Ticket Reviews Miss Key Details

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizabeth G. | Sales Advisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

You can input a wide range of content there, including text, images, and other file types. The platform supports attaching files in a way that preserves their original quality, ensuring that details, formatting, and resolution remain intact without noticeable loss or compression. This makes it suitable for sharing high-quality documents, visuals, and other materials where clarity and accuracy are important.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I’m not satisfied with how the admins are reviewing the tickets. It often seems like the descriptions aren’t being fully read, or important details are being overlooked.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All tickets are securely stored in the system and remain accessible for future reference. They can be reopened at any time if additional information needs to be added, further action is required, or clarification is needed. This ensures continuity, accountability, and a clear record of all previous actions and communications related to each case.

 ### 46. Integrative but Buggy Workflow Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mahathi R. | ServiceNow Technical Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I like ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management's ability to be integrated and used across modules. It's valuable because if we have purchased multiple products, it works well as a coherent connection.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

There are a lot of bugs in the workspace, and the tables have a lot of information which we are unable to replicate in the workspaces due to limitations and constraints. The initial setup was a bit difficult as we went for a migration of data from lower instances, and there was no set rules for it.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to maintain, track, and manage the lifecycle of projects. Its integration across modules forms a coherent connection, especially when multiple products are purchased.

 ### 47. ServiceNow SPM Unifies Strategy, Projects, and Execution in One Ecosystem

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

What makes ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM)—formerly known as ITBM—stand out is how it fundamentally bridges the gap between high-level business strategy and ground-level technical execution. Instead of treating project management, budgeting, and team workflows as disconnected silos, it pulls them into a single ecosystem.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

SPM is not a "plug-and-play" tool. Setting it up to reflect your organization's actual governance, demand scoring models, and resource pools requires massive upfront planning. If your internal processes aren't completely mature before you start configuring the platform, you end up automating a broken process.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) addresses a fundamental enterprise crisis: the costly gap between what leadership plans and what teams actually build. The Problems SPM Solves -Intake Chaos and Unvetted Demands,Resource Blind Spots,Fragmented Tooling Silos etc

 ### 48. Streamlined Management, Room for Customization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debanhi M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I appreciate how ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management allows me to manage and organize everything effectively. The way it supports classifying the service catalog with certain needed fields and assigning ownership like administrators and capability owners helps streamline the organization process. Even though I wasn't there at the beginning, once I learned, the setup was easy.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I would like certain fields to be available in ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management. Specifically, there should be ownership fields for the people administrating and the owners of each service, as the owners of services won't administrate.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to organize and classify the service catalog, making it easier to assign ownership and manage administration effectively.

 ### 49. Integrated Strategy Planning with Cost Concerns

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jitendra D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I like that ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management places strategy and planning in one location and connects it with execution. I appreciate the single ecosystem, which makes it easy to manage and report, allowing me to roll down strategy execution and roll up reporting.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

The cost is a downside; it's expensive, and not everything supported by the software is being used by the business. The initial setup took some time, with challenges in defining workflows to meet the company's needs.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to keep strategy and planning in one place, connected with execution. It offers an easy-to-manage ecosystem where I can roll down strategy execution and roll up reporting effectively.

 ### 50. Effective Budget Management with Streamlined Planning

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ajay G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

I like the financial planning tools in ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management, particularly for overall budget and yearly planning. It's easy to maintain and serves as one common place, which makes it practical for strategizing forecasts. The initial setup was very easy, which is a big plus.

**What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?**

I think the financial planning aspect could be improved, especially concerning budget planning and yearly budgeting. I feel like the statistics and insights aren't quite where they need to be.

**What problems is ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management for strategizing forecasts and yearly budget planning. It helps align with internal enterprise products and simplifies budget planning with its financial planning tools, making it easy to maintain in one common place.
