"Good visibility of my estate"
4/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

As an executive sponsor, I look for capabilities that deliver clarity, control, and measurable financial impact—and ServiceNow Asset Management delivers on all three. It gives us a single, authoritative view of our asset landscape, enabling us to track, manage, and optimize assets across their full lifecycle.

What I value most is the visibility it provides into both hardware and software. With accurate, real-time data, we’re able to make stronger investment decisions, reduce waste, and stay compliant with licensing and regulatory requirements. That translates directly into cost savings and risk reduction—two priorities that matter at the executive level.

ServiceNow Asset Management also reinforces operational discipline by standardizing processes across departments. It reduces inefficiencies created by fragmented systems and manual tracking, while supporting tighter alignment between IT, finance, and procurement.

Just as important, it helps us operate more proactively. Rather than reacting to asset issues, we can anticipate needs, optimize utilization, and plan more strategically for future growth.

Overall, ServiceNow Asset Management isn’t simply about tracking assets—it’s about maximizing their value, reducing risk, and giving the organization the insight it needs to operate more intelligently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I can’t really think of anything specific to add, but I don’t get involved in the details. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Integrations and Strong Support"
4/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I like ServiceNow IT Asset Management because of the platform support and flexibility it offers. I appreciate the ability to use and create integrations with other platforms to deliver information. This is particularly helpful as we use a third-party warehouser for our hardware asset management, and ServiceNow allows me to create a solution to ingest data directly instead of relying on manual requests in the customer portal. The integrations with different platforms like Intune, SCCM, M365, Adobe, and CrowdStrike make the system versatile and valuable to our operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

The issues I face are more about process and governance than technological platform shortcomings. I need information from internal teams for software asset management. It's very difficult to get them to introduce new processes and workflows to get that info over to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Asset Management, Minor Complexity Challenges"
4/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I personally use the reporting and Subscriptions module, powered with the connections to Adobe products and Microsoft. The subscriptions module allows me to report on a daily basis what department within my organization has licenses and who should not have licenses, linked with the user table inactive. We are saving money by not paying for inactive user licenses. The initial setup of ServiceNow IT Asset Management was great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

The complexity of software models is time-consuming, and we don't have enough people feeding data into the system. Not enough people are willing to work in the system. There needs to be more awareness about the product before purchasing, as not many people know about it, making it hard to hire knowledgeable staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong asset lifecycle control with enterprise-grade governance"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

ServiceNow IT Asset Management provides end-to-end visibility and control across the entire asset lifecycle, from procurement through retirement. The biggest strength is how tightly it integrates with CMDB, ITSM, and procurement workflows, allowing organizations to manage assets in context rather than in isolation.

It helps enforce standardization, improves compliance, and reduces waste by tracking ownership, usage, and lifecycle status in one platform. I also value the automation capabilities around asset onboarding, transfers, and disposals, which reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy. From an architectural standpoint, it aligns well with enterprise governance models and scales effectively across large environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

The biggest challenge is that the value of ITAM is highly dependent on data quality and process maturity. Without strong governance and consistent lifecycle management, the data can become unreliable. Implementation can also be complex, especially when integrating with multiple discovery sources, procurement systems, and legacy asset repositories.

Licensing and feature segmentation can sometimes make it difficult to fully leverage all capabilities without additional cost. Reporting can also require customization to meet specific business needs, particularly for financial tracking or compliance scenarios. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"End to end service management"
4/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

What I like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management is how it provides end‑to‑end visibility across the entire asset lifecycle, helping organizations maintain accurate data, improve governance, and make more informed operational and financial decisions. It brings assets, configuration data, and processes together in a single platform, which simplifies compliance, reduces risk, and supports better service delivery. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

What I like least about ServiceNow IT Asset Management is that it can require a significant amount of upfront effort to configure and maintain accurate data. The value of ITAM is highly dependent on strong governance, clean source data, and consistent processes; without those in place, it’s easy for asset information to become outdated or incomplete. Additionally, the complexity of the module can feel heavy for teams that are early in their asset maturity or lack dedicated ownership. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Asset Management with Room for AI Improvements"
3.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I like that ServiceNow IT Asset Management centralizes license and asset management, providing visibility into utilization and recovery opportunities. The transition from legacy workflows and solutions to out-of-the-box playbooks is a big advantage. The initial setup was straightforward, and I'm currently integrating it with InTune, M365, and Adobe for better subscription management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I would like to see more intelligence to help identify potential catalog items or workflows that would be candidates for migration to Asset Management workflows/playbooks. It would be useful to have an AI Agent that could review catalog items related to asset provisioning and recovery, identifying if they are built against Asset Management workflows/playbooks or if a legacy/custom workflow needs optimization. This could help in reducing the technical debt of customization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ServiceNow IT asset management is a very large tool, and it has lots of features and a wide range of configuration options. If you are deploying it initially, it can take a bit longer to understand what exactly needs to be matched and configured.

Another thing is the licensing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Asset Management with Setup Challenges"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I use ServiceNow IT Asset Management to keep track of all the IT assets. It's useful for maintaining a clear view of the hardware and software. I find it simplifies asset tracking and improves visibility, which helps in making better decisions about cost and performance. The end-to-end lifecycle management stands out for me; it helps me track an asset from the moment it is requested until its retirement on a single platform. Also, all the data regarding the asset's pricing and history is accessible in one place, which is incredibly convenient. It connects every stage of the asset's journey in a seamless way, from request to procurement, delivery, assignment, maintenance, and eventual retirement, saving a lot of time and resources. I also use this with tools like incident change and request management, which helps us track and fast-track tickets based on priority. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

One thing that could be improved would be the initial setup and configuration as in the initial days I found it a little complex to use. It did require a significant amount of time to get used to it, especially with the navigation and the features. The most challenging part for me was to align things with the existing data sources and processes. It is very flexible, but then it makes you take a lot of decisions upfront. One specific case would be data modeling and CMDB alignment, making sure assets configuration and relationships were structured took time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
